I've been enjoying the billionaire boys club series and then saw that there was a spin-off. I think my favorite part about this book were the scenes with Logan / Bronte and the whole crew from past books.
I hated, no really, HATED the main character Rob. He felt really sleazy and lewd. He tried to cover it up and supposedly redeemed himself throughout the book but I just couldn't buy into it. I didn't find him funny at all and his relationship with Marjorie really wasn't interesting. Half the book, well a quarter, they were pretending to be different people from what they were. Ugh.
Also, so tired of the female characters being virgins who have no idea what is happening with the opposite sex.
This one really didn't do it for me. I only gave it 2 stars because of past characters being in the book and it was nice to see them again.
I'm debating reading the next one. This could be just a book that wasn't for me or it could be the start of a bad series. Not sure what I'll do yet....more

But the circumstances didn't sit well with me, I didn't enjoy the plot line of traipsing around the world and honestly the relationship between Jonathan and Violet just didn't do it for me. There was so much drama between them I just couldn't see how they could get past it especially since they constantly thought about it or brought it up.
I'll still keep going with the series, I just hope the next book is better....more

I have a thing for reading Beauty and Beast inspired stories and this was a really good one. I loved that roles were reversed and Gretchen was the experienced one in the relationship and she had to coax Hunter. Hunter just made me want to hug him. He lived such a lonely and sad life and I hated the comparisons people made to Quasimodo and such. Poor guy. I just kept wishing that everything would work out. ...more

I love Showalter's books for the most part but they are all paranormal and this one wasn't. Would it be as good? Would there be a lack of a plot line? But my fears were completely unwarranted. This book had a great plot line surrounding not just the main couple but also the side characters had an interesting storyline.
Jase is the main character in this one and he is all kinds of messed up over his past. Everyone he knows and has loved has left him throughout his life and he's had to deal with some pretty horrible things happen to him. His friends are feeling guilty for their part in his troubles and keep trying to make up for it which only serves to remind Jase of his problems.
Brook Lynn has lived in Strawberry Hills her whole life with her sister Jessica. She's the responsible one in her family and is always trying to reel in her wild sister. When she first meets Jase she is trying to save her sister from making a mistake with him and yet the sparks fly between them but both are determined to ignore it.
Jase was such a lost soul, I just felt bad for everything he went through. I wanted to just reach into the book and hug him! Brook Lynn took some time to grow on me. I loved how protective she was of her family but it also grew a bit tiresome at parts. I wanted to just tell her to let Jessica deal with her own issues. Jase and Brook Lynn together... Wow. Off the charts sexiness there! There was a little back and forth between them as they tried to figure out how to be with each other and whether they could accept each others past.
Loved the side characters - I think we are definitely going to hear more about Jessica and obviously the other two books are going to be about West and Beck. Man I can't wait to see what is tearing those two up, talk about wounded alpha males!!
This was definitely a home run for Showalter! I can't wait to read the the rest of the series, I think one comes out in a couple of weeks and the final one comes out in November.

This book featured PrinceThis is what I think is supposed to be the third book in the Forbidden series and in my opinion it was the weakest of them. This book featured Prince Zair and Nora. Nora is trying to find her friend Harlow who has disappeared after investigating sex trafficking. She decided that the only way that she could find her is be posing as a prostitute on a pleasure yacht. Zair knows Nora and when he sees her on the yacht he knows she's faking it and is not really a hooker. He feels compelled to get her out of the situation but needs for her to tell him the truth, and of course he needs to force it out of her.
I don't know, this one just rang very untrue to me. It felt at times the author was trying hard for this to be a light BDSM book, but really it just didn't work. She was putting in very light scenes of dominance but even the characters thought they were pretending so it just didn't work for me. I also wasn't a big fan of Zair and just didn't like him, nor did I really like Nora. I liked how Nora was trying to rescue her friend it just seemed like the way she came up with doing it was way over the top.

It's not labeled here on goodreads but judging from some of the things that happen in this book and the previous book, I think that this was meant to be the second one.
This story is about Javien and Louise. Javien is a billionaire who operates a shipping company. He's made his way up in life starting on the streets of the Bronx and doing some unsavory things to get by. Louise is a professor of Women's Studies at Columbia University. Louise and Javien meet at Louise's sister Chelsea's engagement party. They feel a mutual attraction and agree to a one night stand. Things begin to change as they start seeing each other more and both of them have to decide if they are willing to be truthful about their pasts and really let down the walls they've been using to keep people at bay.
Louise was a really interesting person, at times she was very strong-willed and knew what she wanted and at other times she seemed very confused. But I liked the dichotomy she presented, as most people in real life have different sides to their personality. Javien was just adorable and I loved how he was just so unbelievably confused about his feelings towards Louise. The romance between them was great and was the best part of the story. The side story of the missing friend fell short in this book and kind of seemed to just be thrown in to connect the last book to the series.
I really liked this one and I'm going to be looking into other books by this author.

I was intrigued when I saw this on netgalley as I've been looking for some billionaire romance novels. This is the first book in the series and features Logan and Addison. Logan is a billionaire who is a little crazy after a near death experience and has lost all his ideas of social niceties. Addison is a socialite who is trying to deal with her father's criminal acts and witnessing his death. The two together make an interesting match together - each is broken and don't know if they even want to fix themselves.
Logan was just a hot mess, I can't even think of another way to put it. He really is trying to adjust to being back around people after his awful and terrible experience. He blames himself for his past mistakes and is trying to make up for it by being a great business man. He doesn't know how Addison can fit into his life or whether he even deserves her. I just really loved his character. Addison on the other hand, I'm not too sure about I felt about her. She is a society girl and a few times came off as being very cold. Together they definitely burned up the pages, but I'm still just undecided if I like them together.
One other thing was that I did feel a little out of the loop at points because a lot of side characters were mentioned.. and I'm not sure if in the authors other books these characters were featured. So either there wasn't enough information or it was intentionally left out so that the reader looks into the authors books.

Something about the description of this one just pulled me in. Mega billionaire falls in love with young woman taking care of her brother.. Oh come on, it's perfect!!
I adore Will and his attention to Jeremy, he was just so darn cute. And his fascination with cars was also enticing. The lead female character Harper was just trying to get by and be a good guardian for her brother. I loved how honest she was with herself and decided to branch out of the box she created for herself. And Harper and Will's chemistry was definitely off the charts, but their relationship with each other was even more entertaining. Watching them try to deal with each other and trust each other was great.

Isabelle is an artist who is in Wyoming to escape her old life. We don't know what she's running from at first, just that she needs to lead a quiet life. Tom is a US Marshall who arrives on Isabelle's doorstep claiming to be there patrolling the area. Isabelle fears that Tom is there for her and when Tom senses her anger and sees her suspicious behavior he begins to wonder what she's hiding.
This book had all of the things I love about Victoria Dahl's books. It had the humor, the great relationship and the awesome side characters that make the story more interesting. It also was very different from the previous books which keeps the series fresh and entertaining. I just don't get the same redundancy that other contemporary romance series can get over time. This one even had the added suspense of wondering what was happening with Isabelle that she was in hiding.
A stellar second book! I look forward to the next one in the series.
