The character of Satan was just ridiculous and every time he was around I felt myself cringing.
There are some authors who do funny very well, ex) Kimberley Raye, Mary Janice Davidson, Sandra Hill etc.. If you are looking for a funny PNR or funny trad. romance, there are far better choices out there than this one. I wouldn't waste my time with any of the other books in this series....more

I liked the overall storyline and I loved the two main characters but there were some things that bothered me.
The writing was a little bothersome, and there were long passages of description, especially in the beginning. The book had a definite gothic feel to it and it was pretty dark. Another issue was that it was hard to keep track of the characters because the names were similar and it was a tad bit confusing especially since the names were foreign.
Otherwise I enjoyed the story, and I put the next book in my TBR...more

I really liked the concept and thought it was pretty unique, at least out of the books I have read. Calliope is going about her normal life, and weird things start happening to her. She's trying to get into her apartment and she thinks she sees a huge monster down the hall. She's at work, and voices start talking to her in the bathroom. Suddenly, she picks up a cupcake that is laced with something and she remembers.
Three years previous to that moment, she put a forgetting charm on her self. She just wanted to be normal, but she's really death's daughter. Her full name, Calliope Reaper-Jones.
Her mother sent a faun (her dad's executive assistant) to come find Calliope because the family needs her help. Death has gone missing... and all hell has broken loose.
Calliope needs to find who took her dad, and in the process she needs to take over his job. To fufill the job description she needs to complete three tasks.... and no one said it would be easy.
Overall, I enjoyed the storyline but what really bothered me was the language!! The author wrote as if she were speaking. Which I didn't like. There was a lot of use of italics and at times I became annoyed with the main character's annoying personality. That's what I didn't give it a higher rating because I just couldn't get past the writing. Maybe her next book will be written a tad bit better, because the premise is really promising....more

I was initially worriedThis is the fourth book in the Lords Of the Underworld series and it focuses on Sabin. Sabin is the keeper of the demon Doubt. I was initially worried about how Showalter was going to overcome Sabin's demon, but I ended up liking how it turned out.
The heroine in this story was Gwen, and I really liked her. She was an interesting character that was both strong and weak at the same time. I liked that she was a badass who the other Lords were kind of afraid of.
Sabin and Gwen together were pretty hot and sweet at the same time. I think I might like these two better than some of the others together. It actually makes me want to re-read the first 3 books.
My only issue with this one, I can't STAND Anya. Any time she showed up and started her ghetto slang annoying talking, I just wanted to vomit lol. But other than that, I really enjoyed the book.
I can't wait to read the next one. I'm going to go do some research to see if I can find out who the next book focuses on....more

I don't usually read these types of books, so I was a little leery at first, but in the end I was glad that I read it.
This book revolved around the story of Cesca and Meko. Meko is a traveler who can walk between times, and he sent back in time to help his people the Cheyenne. Meko sees Cesca and recognizes her for the woman he is meant to be with, although Cesca doesn't see it that way in the beginning.
I really liked how the romance evolved between the two characters, and it was a unique perspective. I can't say that I have ever read a book involving Native Americans, time travel and romance lol. But it is definitely worth the read....more

I honestly hated the first 150 pages. It was almost like the reader is dropped into the middle of a story rather than the beginning. I was so confused I actually came back on to goodreads to check if I missed a book or a prequel. For awhile I didn't even know the main characters name there was so much going on. Everyone was running around, and the author chose to give background details as the story progressed. But she did it in a way that had me confused. There was a lot of flash backs which was confusing because often there was no indication that the story was now taking place in the past. So I often had to go back and re-read to figure out what was going on.
Unfortunately, the flashbacks and memories continued throughout the book which really bothered me. But around 200 or so, the story got marginially better. I knew what was going on, the whole plot line was finally explained along with the background material so I felt better. This allowed me to get into the story.
I never did come to like the main character Joanne, but I really liked David. He was such a sweet character, but I felt he wasn't completely developed.
I am a little disappointed since I heard so much about this series, I might continue on because people say this is the worst book out of the all of them. But this is one of those where I will not buy it, but go to the library and get them. It's not worth spending the money....more
Lil is a 500 year old vampire who owns a dating service. The police walk in and try to arrest her for murder. OfA great follow up to her first book.
Lil is a 500 year old vampire who owns a dating service. The police walk in and try to arrest her for murder. Of course she will not allow that to happen so she runs. They follow her back to her apartment, and later try to find her at her parents house in CT. So what does she do, she goes to Ty (the ultra hot vamp bounty hunter). As he tries to protect her from herself, and she tries to run her business while on the run from the cops the two discover that besides the growing attraction between themselves that someone is out to frame Lil. They must figure out who is trying to hurt her, and it very well might be someone close to Lil.
I think this was a great story and a really quick read. I like the relationship between Ty and Lil but I'm getting a little irritated with the build up of sexual tension, only to be relieved for a short while and then for something to happen to wrench the two apart....more
