We got to see that not everything is either good or evil, but that so many of the characters are a mix of the two. I couldn't help but feel bad for Stryker, especially when you realize how much he has lost. The revelations about Nick made me like his character even more, despite him being all pissy at Acheron. And for some strange reason, I have this belief that one of the stories will be centered around Savitar and Appolymi... I got the impression from this book that they are going to end up with eachother. hmm, that's interesting. But yeah, I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for more to come out!...more

This storyline then ties into Ash's storyline, and also revolves around Nick, Jared, and Jaden.
Zarek is back for an appearance as is Astrid. This book is leading the darkhunter series into a new direction with the stories beginning to focus on Nick and his new role. This book you are introduced to the Dogs of War who are badasses that are stronger than dark hunters.

I liked it but I was a little disappointed. So much of the story was sort of "old" information. I liked that we had more insight into what happened to Fang.. but half the book was set in the past. That was a tad annoying. Even a third of the way through the book you see Fang in Vane's sons nursery.. I believe that exact scene was in another book.
I did like the story, and I love Aimee and Fang together, but I would have liked more going on in the future rather than all the backtracking that was going on. It also made it a little difficult to remember back to that time when characters weren't mated or married, and other situations were going on simultaneously.
I liked Thorn as well. He's an interesting character and I hope we find out more about him.
I think this probably would have gotten a 4 from me if it had been released a little earlier in comparison to some of the other books. It just seemed out of place....more

It was coauthored with Diana Love, and it didn't have the feel of Kenyon's writing. I think Love had more to do with the writing and the story than Kenyon did, and I think this negatively impacted the book. I wasn't that interested in the plot, and I didn't feel any sort of connection with the main characters.
I'm not sure I'll bother with any more of the B.A.D books....more

I've read a lot of Kenyon's books but I never got around to this series so when I saw it in stores I decided to get it.
I'm so glad that I did read it. I loved the storyline! This is a little different from her various hunter series and it's actually more science fiction in my opinion. The setting is not Earth, and the characters are either human, humanoid and some various different species.
The League is a a collection of warriors that deal out "justice" for these different planetary worlds. Nykyrian is a League assassin who is leaving the League because they asked him to execute an entire family. Since no one can actually leave The League, Nyk is now hunted and is on every government's shit list.
He's formed his own establishment that is filled with criminals who just want justice. They protect innocents from government and from The League. Nyk's new assignment is Kiara. A princess who is being hunted by some of the worst from The League.
I really love the way that Kenyon set up her world. I can picture all the different places and species that she has created. I always love getting lost in the stories she creates. I am really looking forward to the next two in the series. One is being re-released in Nov 2009 and the next is being re-released in Dec 2009....more
Syn's story was pretty heartbreaking as was Sharara's. Kenyon really knows how to dig into your heart and just keep pulling lol. I didn't really likeSyn's story was pretty heartbreaking as was Sharara's. Kenyon really knows how to dig into your heart and just keep pulling lol. I didn't really like Syn as much as I liked Nykyrian.. but I still wanted to see him have a happy ending. Sharara was kick ass, as per Kenyon's speciality of strong female characters lol.
I think the next book will be even better.. but I don't want to say too much because it will cause spoilers :)...more

I liked learning more about the Dogs of War, and I found that storyline to be fascinating. From what I understand from things I've read is that this is the new focus of the Dark Hunter series. These characters will be represented in the next set of books within the overall series.
I liked seeing more of Acheron (and also other news with him, but don't want to spoil for others). Nick was the same old annoying character, I've never liked him so it's not a surprise that he bothered me in this one. He's way too whiny, and needs to get over the things that happened to him in the past. Stop dwelling man!
Samia and Dev together were great, but I wish there had been a little more sexual action going on between them. I felt a little cheated. But I think Kenyon had a lot on her plate to introduce the new characters and the new story arch. But it's amazing how she manages to tie everything together.
She's still one of my favorite authors and this is one of my top favorite series in this genre. I can't wait to read more from her. I look forward to reading more about the dogs....more
