It was unique because it was the female pursuing the two males, and not the other way around which was sort of a breath of fresh air for me. I really liked the main character Jaz even though she was slightly dramatic, but in the end I felt bad for her because all she wanted was for these two men to love her back!

This featured Ethan Kelly, who is an ex- Navy Seal. He has been in seclusion for awhile following his wife Rachel's death. His brothers have been trying to get him into their group KGI to help him move on with his life. Than on the 1 year anniversary of Rachel's death, Ethan received a package in the mail with pictures of his wife and a note saying she never died. Ethan is determined to find out if this is a ruse and he utilizes his brothers and the KGI group to figure everything out.
I really loved the mystery to this book but I also loved the dark overtones to the plot. This was a not a perfect scenario and Rachel was not a perfect heroine. Ethan was also a little broken, which was a nice break from that all perfect male hero we see in a lot of books. Overall, I'm loving this series and can't wait for the nexto ne.(less)

This book was a little on and off for me. I really liked the Colters', I think the toss up for my favorite is between Dillon and Michael just because in the bedroom they were H-O-T. Lily got on my nerves a little bit. She was a little too weepy and shy and eventually it started grating on me. I could have done with a bit more sex scenes to be honest. I usually expect a little more from Banks, and I was surprised by how long it took to get into the bed lol. But that's okay. I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens next with Callie (Holly and the Colters' daughter). We shall see.(less)

The main character is Sam Kelly and Sophie. Sam meets Sophie while he is undercover in Mexico, they have a passionate fling for a few days but Sam is forced to leave when he has to complete an important mission. The book flashes forward 5 months and we find Sophie running for her life, while pregnant. She washes up on the shore near Sam's house warning him that he was in danger. Sam has so many questions for Sophie, the first being is she carrying his child. When he finds out that Sophie is running for her life he doesn't understand what she's running from. All he knows is, he feels the need to protect the woman he considers his.
I really loved this book, I give it 4.5 stars. I flew through it, it was a quick read that had all the elements that I love in a romantic suspense. Banks is one of my favorite romantica/erotica authors and in this book she didn't disappoint me. There was steamy romance, high quality sex scenes and the book was full of action, suspense and danger.
I'm still waiting for the first book in the series, but at this point I may just invest in buying the books because I can see myself reading them over and over. My suggestion, if you like Banks' other books then you will definitely like this one as well. Go on, read it!(less)

This series is turning out to be really great and I'm so happy about that. I love reading about the Kelly brothers and their crazy family dynamics and their heart-racing missions.
This one didn't disappoint me at all. Garrett is the second oldest brother, and is recuperating from a shoulder injury when he goes on a new mission. Find Sarah Daniels, keep an eye on her, and if necessary sleep with her to try to get to her half brother Marcus. Sarah is currently in hiding because she is trying to protect Marcus when she realizes that someone may be trying to find her. Garrett is forced to step up his surveillance detail and become body guard, but how can he do that without scaring Sarah and letting her know who he really is?
This book was rife with romance, action and sexy Garrett! He's been a favorite of mine so I was glad he finally got a book. I found it amusing how he was so grouchy around his brothers and then with Sarah he was this cute, goofy man. Definitely adorable!
The reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars you ask? Well, there were some things that were just a little too hard to believe. If a man lies to you once shame on him, if he lies to you twice shame on you. Well, I just couldn't really accept that Sarah so readily forgave Garrett for a few lies he told. I really wanted to believe, but a little part of my conscience kept saying "Really? You're going to just let it go?". Other than that little internal argument, I loved the book!
I also can't wait to find out what happens to the rest of the Kelly brothers. Too bad I just saw the next book won't be out until Feb 2012! A whole year to wait to learn what happens to Nathan? For Shame!(less)

It wasn't about anyone in particular, it was more like an update on the characters that were in the previous books. There was a larger story line for Lily and there were some interesting updates about Holly and Callie. I really enjoyed this, but it made me crave a new story. Hopefully we will find out more about Max's sister, I would like to see her get a HEA. I guess I'll have to wait and see!(less)

This is about Callie, the daughter of Ryan, Adam, Ethan and Holly. Callie is upset over a recent heartbreak and is just starting to move on with her life when Max walks back into her life. She responds by punching him in the face and then crying. Max insists that he can make up for his past mistake with her and that together they can get over the past and move on. Callie agrees, but Max has one condition. While they work on their relationship she must resume her sexual relationship with him. Callie begins to accept Max into her life again, and then receives disturbing information about Max's true intentions. Can she get over the heartbreak, is Max the right man for her?
So let me begin by saying that this book is not a menage book like the others in the series, but instead is D/s book. This book very much reminded me of Banks' other book Sweet Persuasion (but a little more diluted). So if you liked that one, you will probably also like this one. While I thought that most of the sex scenes were hot, I was also a little annoyed by the D/s relationship taking place. I've never minded BDSM, or spankings and such but the submission aspect does get on my nerves a bit. Although Callie accepted having her life completely taken over by Max, I had a hard time accepting that that is what she truly wanted. Why would anyone want to kneel down before the couch and be fed by hand while her hands are tied behind her back. But that's my own personal limitations I guess. So for that reason I couldn't rate it higher than a 3. Another reason, I felt that there was so much deceit and lies to overcome that the ending seemed to happily ever after for me. I know Banks' books are always pretty much HEA, but this one was a little hard for me to swallow.
Other than those two things, I still enjoyed the book and the majority of the sexual aspects of it. I also really liked how the other characters were still very important to the story. So, in other words, my dislike of the D/s relationship aspect of this book will not stop me from reading others by Banks, or another book in this series. She is still a favorite author of mine. I went in with really high expectations because I haven't really read a bad book by Banks, and while it ended up being great I still felt a little disappointed. The sex scenes felt a little short to me and definitely not on the level as some of her other books, this would be categorized as a romance book and not a romantica/erotica book. I will still be reading the next two books in the trilogy though because the story did fascinate me and I do have a soft spot for alpha male Scots.(less)

Once a few other characters were mentioned I began to get the feeling that maybe I missed something but it didn't affect my understanding of the story. It actually just made me want to go back and read the others in the series! So while it won't hurt you to read this book as a stand alone, it would probably be beneficial to start the series from the beginning.
Cam is adamant about not having any strings between himself and a woman. So for that reason, he keeps women out of his apartment and makes sure they understand that sex for him is only a one night stand. When he shows up at his best friend's housewarming party, he sees Pippa working her butt off to cater the event. He throws aside her annoyance and offers up his services for the night. And not just with helping to distribute food. They go back to his place and both understand it's going to be a one night stand only. Pippa is happy and luxuriating in her great sex from the previous night when she receives a phone call from Cam telling her that the condom broke. Uh oh. Now they both know they have to deal with eachother and while Pippa is okay with that, Cam has to fight back his demons to decide if he wants to wallow in his past or move on and have a great future.
I was back and forth with my feelings about both Cam and Pippa. While I liked them together at times I began to get a little annoyed with the pushing and pulling between them. It wasn't just Cam either. Even though Pippa repeatedly stated her feelings for Cam, she also remained undecided whether she wanted his help or didn't. I also wasn't a big fan of how she treated Cam regarding his past. Yes he was wallowing to a certain extent, and yes he was being kind of an idiot towards her but after hearing for the first time why he was so upset Pippa reacted in a mean way. She basically yelled at him and told him to man up. I wasn't so comfortable with that reaction. She then went on to explain to her friends that she understands why he's so upset but that it's hurting her feelings. Seriously?
I'm glad things ended the way they did, but for such a short book a lot of things happened to these characters! Banks sure knows how to torture them! I'm still deciding if I will go back and read the other books, I'm not sure if I want to get involved with the tug of war that will surely happen!
Thank you to the author, netgalley and Harlequin for the chance to read this book!(less)
