We have MC Emilyn who lived with her husband. He is a big time lawyer. But he's not her HEA. Back in high school she was dumped by Finley, who up and left for LA with his brother Ky to be a song writer. She is going back to her high school reunion. With reserve, her friend Harper pretty much drags her there. Harper is the kind of friend that every girl wants and needs in their life. Harper assures her that Ky nor Finn are going to be at the reunion. But lo and behold, they run into them at the bar the night before the reunion. Emilyn does her best to avoid Finn, to avoid those feelings that she keeps hidden. When she returns home a day earlier, she catches her husband in bed with another woman... She comes home and well.. I cannot tell anymore because it could spoil the story.
I love how I went through so many emotions in this. Happy, sad, angry, etc. My heart was a mess after this book. Emilyn knew she needed time. She ran when she needed to and gave herself time. She done what any normal female would do when they are handed the things she was. Read this. It's a fantastic book....more

While I found it started off great, by the end I was getting so pissed off. I remember looking at my kindle at 74% and contemplating just not reading the rest. Let me say I CANNOT stand for a female to be a freaking doormat in a book. The girl who says "Oh he cheated but I deserved it, so it's okay baby.."... WTF?! This happened A LOT in this book. This may be a spoiler.. At one point he is caught on TV making out with another girl while she is visiting HIS family. So she gets on a plane and goes back to Boston, like any smart female would do (or at least I would).. One of the guys come back and tell her the dad had a stroke, so she takes off back to TN. When she gets to the house she is talking to him like everything was her fault! WHAT?!?! After 74% it went so far downhill I just couldn't even keep up anymore. She took blame for ALL of his cheating. No woman EVER does that.. EVER. Or at least I never would. He cheated, kick his ass out the damn door and don't come back. **If you're the author and you're reading this, PLEASE, PLEASE, I begggg you, don't make another female character a doormat. Or the male a dbag who doesn't take responsibility for his own crap. I know you gotta have some emotion and what not in there but it was good when she wasn't giving up everything for some loser who cheated**
Then just all the stuff that happened all at once just made my head spin. His mom, his dad having a heart attack, the pregnancy. Dear God, separate it out, it was so overwhelming.
I gave it three stars because the first bit of it or so was good but then at 70% and up just crazy, all over the place bullshit....more

I guess there was a little bit of drama but not much. It was pretty predictable. I was curious about the ménage thing going on there. But I'm pretty sure when she went into that scene it only happened once. I was hoping she would switch it up but it never happed. This book was m/f/m/m, absolutely no m/m. The one thing I was curious about was the sleeping arrangement. So the unlucky one had to sleep by himself pretty much, did they switch it up every night? How was there no jealousy? I just know I can get territorial so I couldn't imagine sharing with my sister. I had just read a book before this one which was m/f/m which was my first and this one was my second. I'm not a fan of the four-some. I can see how the three-some will work in books but not four. Also it was a little confusing at times, I wasn't sure who she was talking about at times. Sometimes it was say "he thought this or that was going to happen" and I would go back to see where each of the characters were at in the book to narrow the options down....more
This is the first I have ever read about a ménage.. What did I think? I'm thinking.. wow.
Not one of my favorite books because the plot was just boringThis is the first I have ever read about a ménage.. What did I think? I'm thinking.. wow.
Not one of my favorite books because the plot was just boring. It's strictly m/f/m or m/f, no m/m. I was more curious and it didn't really go into THAT much detail with those scenes. I think maybe twice. I think when you got a book like that, I wanna know more. It was boring, I was expecting more drama but there really wasn't any. It was pretty predictable on everything that was going to happen. I find that a lot when there is a book about a shifter or were-(insert different animal here). I gave it three stars because I really liked the characters. One aggravating thing was, she goes into the house, they go into the house then an hour or so later they claim her. I mean I've read other books where the female at least makes them sweat a min. But it was love at first second. It was a good read, it only took me a couple hours to finish. Would I read it again? No. Will I read anymore in the series? Ehh, I'm not sure. She didn't really bring me into the book to where I would want to read another book in the series....more

I have a hard time saying a lot about this story. I wasn't a fan of Rose. How can you possibly be that stupid? Maybe I'm just not one to believe the crap that spews from other peoples mouths but I mean... grr. She is so stupid. I didn't like her until the end. I was basically pretending to be Quinn through the whole book thinking "yep leave her now... Or now. Seriously?!" It was like she just played with his emotions. I wanted him to go back to his playboy lifestyle just to make her jealous. Get her to show some emotion. The love they describe between the two, I just couldn't believe she could be so heartless to him through the majority of the book. Sure it explains why she done it, but I'm just the type of person that when I hear something, I don't run away. I investigate and confront the problem. So for them it could've been fixed over 200 years ago, but no, she ran. Then she shows up needing Quinns help. She made him a better character than I would've because I would've slammed a door in her face. If the love of my life made me believe he was dead for almost 200 years and purposely kept the fact we had a child together (which would've been impossible seeing as how Im the female but you get my drift) I would've been LIVID!!
I again go back to Samson, and Gabriel. I just couldn't stand them in this book. Once again. I read the reviews on the next book about Oliver. I'm not sure I'm going to read it because I've read that it gets worse with those two and also Maya gets into it. I don't like where she is going with Samson and Gabriel. I loved those two and now I'm developing a hatred for the two people who claim to love their family first.

In Yvette's book we get a little bit of Zane and how the group basically sees him as a vampire who loves to torture. But Zane appears to be coming off as getting a little careless. The other's really kinda got on my nerves in this book. Especially Samson and Gabriel. You claim to be family but when he does something (and had I come across that, like Zane says, that girl was someones daughter, wife, mother)and he acts carelessly, as Samson and Gabriel put it. Honestly, human and I would've messed someone up had I caught them doing something like that. I do have a daughter and would seriously do damage to anyone who hurt her. So I see where he was coming from, but Samson and Gabriel just don't care anymore.
So Zane gets stuck on this babysitting job. Her name is Portia. She is a hybrid. She is 20 years old and a virgin. At the age of 21 the body of a hybrid freezes. If she is a virgin when she freezes that is torture for her for the rest of her life. Her father is purposely keeping her a virgin. So she sets out to lose her virginity. Guess who just so happens to start showing emotion for the first time? Mr Zane himself. He's drawn to Portia. I can't give too much away because it may ruin the ending. I'm glad Zane got revenge, and his demons have settled. He's been tamed finally. But it still leaves me upset with Samson and Gabriel. Even after apologies, they still should never doubt anyone in their "family"... and they just get worse the further we go into the books... Onto Mr Quinn.. :)...more

It's hard to say much about this book because it could give any little thing away. Just read it. If you wonder if you'll like it because it is Yvette, I believe you will. I had my own doubts, but now I understand her better and really like her in the books after this.
Also, in this book you're getting a glimpse of Zane. I've heard, and read many people didn't like his story. However, it was probably my favorite in the series. I see how "unstable" he is labeled. How careless he is becoming and how he needs to be tamed a tad. I'm glad she kinda just put that into this book, which leads right into Zane's life.....more

Gabriel is basically described as a hideous looking man, but I could never picture him as ugly or scary. I disregarded the scar, ponytail, ugly looking man he is describes as and made him my own beauty haha.
Anyways, on to the book *chuckle*...
Gabriel is a hard ass, basically. He hasn't gotten any in a long time. Every time he tries, the women run away in fear. What is it that they run away from *chuckle*, well my friends, you have to read.
*Maybe a spoiler*- He's meets Maya after she attacked and then turned, he is instantly protective of her. Here it goes back to, well the obvious is about to happen, right? Yup. Well halfway through the book they get intimate *chuckle*, and she sees what he is embarrassed of. She doesn't mind it though. Honestly, I can't even get to the plot of the freakin' story because when I read what that "abnormality" was and what it was after they were intimate *chuckle*, my jaw hit the floor. My first thought was "oh. my. god. My mother recommended this book. How embarrassing and...awkward..ewww!" But my second closest thought was "oh holy jesus that is not hap-- surely not? Oh dear, that did say that, that is happening! She actually likes it like that..oh dear.." Anyone has read this, knows EXACTLY what I am referring to.
Guess, I could get to the plot, huh? So someone is stalking Maya. Gabriel is trying to get to the bottom of who it is. Boy, who it is will surprise you! Read this book, I recommend it. Actually start from the first book in the series. I'm glad I did, especially with Zane....more

I like for my books to have a strong woman, not overly strong, not stupid, and not the "woman who has to be a hero to appear strong in front of everyone". That absolutely kills me. But I liked Delilah. Samson has been alone a long time and this girl, who he thinks is a stripper, comes banging on his door. Samson has a big problem that wont rise to the occasion (hardy har har) but when he kisses Delilah, it seems to have solved it. The story is pretty much obvious what is going to happen. But the author takes you on a good ride to get to that point. I'm sad I didn't stumble upon these books sooner, but sadly it was my mother who told me I should read them. After reading them, its a little weird she'd recommend them to me. Especially after Gabriels book (anyone whose read it knows what I'm talking about haha)...more
Ok.. One- I usually never say what the book is about because there are probably a thousand different ways it can be told that is already on here. Two-Ok.. One- I usually never say what the book is about because there are probably a thousand different ways it can be told that is already on here. Two- I'm giving this only three stars because Nina got on my last nerve in this book! Always putting yourself in a stupid situation, then gets upset because they hurt her feelings. Stop doing stupid stuff and maybe, just maybe, they won't treat you like a child. *Rant over*. Anyways, I loveeeee Amaury. Love him! Not just because of this book, but because of every book. As a female, I know we are challenging and change our minds a lot, as well as play hard to get. BUT when a hot dude is right in front of us begging to get some, come on we do not walk away lol. By half way through the book I was saying if I was Amaury there is no way I'd risk myself because of a female who has emotional issues and no regard for anyones safety. Too much baggage! But by the end I grew to like Nina. Sure I would probably do the same for my brother but I would at least assess the situation at hand first. Basically that was my issue with her....more

I feel like I nowI give this book a solid 4.5 stars.I swear I have never had a book make me so exhausted after reading it the way this book did.Phew. I feel like I now have some of their baggage on my shoulders. I'm not really into dark books, and this book is dark (I'm sure others can say they've read darker, but understand I do not read dark books so this was one to me).
Nell, grew up around Kyle. Neighbors and best friends born just a few days apart. One day they decide to take their "love" to the next level, as in a relationship instead of best friends.
*The author does a fabulous job at getting you to love Kyle. You feel like he's your boyfriend you know him so well. This may be a spoiler...
2 years later they go to a cabin and after a small argument in a storm, Kyle is killed saving Nell from a fallen tree. My heart just absolutely shattered! I have NEVER cried reading a book..EVER. But I did in this one. I felt like I lost my best friend. My boyfriend. It was so heartbreaking. During the funeral, Colton, Kyle's brother shows up. Nell has only seen Colton two times. He had packed up and left home at a very early age.
-I believe its two years later and Nell is going to school in New York (forgive me for the fuzzy details like that I read another book right after that) and Colton is living there as well. They hadn't seen each other since they kissed on the dock right after Kyles funeral. Nell runs into Colton while he is playing music, and she joins him. This is where things get a little weird to me. Colton has this attraction to Nell but I'm honestly not sure how that even developed. He kisses her and then two years later he needs her.I'm totally lost on how their relationship really came about.
Nell, is damamged. Badly! I understand too. She feels guilty and she's harboring all those emotions and won't let herself grieve.. Make no mistake, Colton has some serious skeletons also, but he learned to deal. His are pretty major as well. I can't tell those because then it takes away from the suspense lol. You'd have to find that out by reading..
Now my problem with the book. It's no biggie, really. **May be a spoiler**I just felt like there was so much heartache, and I really wanted that "thing" (if you read toward the end you'll know what I'm talking about because its a HUGE spoiler)to work out for them. They had so much heartache, and death. I just wanted it to be a happy time for them, to have something to look forward to. Some happiness finally. But nope. It was just so emotional, and dark. That's the reason I only gave it 4.5 stars. I wanted that good thing to work out and it didn't. Come on, cut the people a break, they had hurt enough in life. But that's my rant lol.
If I had the choice to go back and read it I wouldn't have. Even though it was so good it was just too heartbreaking and dark for me.I love Colton, and I could tolerate Nell. But the pain was just too much for me. But if you can tolerate that, then definitely read this book....more

In "Leo" we have Evie, Leo, and Jake. Evie and Leo grow up together knowing foster care. But then Leo gets adopted. He swore to Evie that he'd come back for her and they'd be together forever after they turned 18 and no longer in foster care. He promises to write her as soon as he got to Cali, which a address and phone number. The letters never came. She turned 18, he never came. Eight years later, she has a job and a place of her own.But she catches someone following her. So she surprises him by cutting him off. He tells Evie that he is Jake, one of Leo's friends from Cali and Leo send Jake to check on her. She puts trust into Jake, something about him makes her forget all the bad that happened in her life. *Maybe a spoiler* Since Leo's passing it's nice for Evie to find a home in someone. She had been saving herself, because Leo had ask her to wait for him. Obviously that time wasn't going to come, so she had to move on. Who other, than Jake. Jake has some series secrets. He loaded, and their is a girl that pops in pictures that Evie finds online.
When Evie finds out about Jakes past and all his secrets, shit gets real lol. This bothers me because I just want to scream it out, but I know how I am. Even when I read "spoiler alert", I still have to read it. This is one of those books I cannot spoil for someone. Anyways, Evie ends up falling for Jake. The girl thats end the pictures on Jakes arm in these charity events happens to get the ball rolling in Evies head about a certain love of Jakes life and Evie will never be that girl.
Anyways read this book. It's emotional and fun. Read this book!...more

Because I suck at describing it, anddd there are probably a hundred other people on here who will say it even better. Mostly, I like to rant and rave. But I will give it a shot. So we have Juliet, and Emerson. Juliet ends up falling madly love in Emerson one summer just for them to be torn apart by a tragic accident. Four years later she has to return to Cedar Cove to load up the stuff in the beach house to be sold, because her overspending father needs the money. But is that really the reason for visiting Cedar Cove again? Deep down we all know she is hoping to run into Emerson. Well she does. It wasn't a very pleasant reunion. Can she trust Emerson to not break her heart? Can Emerson tell her why he shouldn't be with her? This was such a good book. However, I had one problem with it. Juliet. Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm just a confrontational person? But some of the things that happened, instead of ASKING, like a normal person. She ran back home. Just to drive right back to Cedar Cove. Apparently she isn't affected by gas prices. Granted, the second attempt to leave, he was an ass. But with that being said, if someone is going to run at every problem you have in life, how can you trust them when times really get tough? I loved Emerson though, and by the end of the book you understand why he done what he done. I'd suggest this for someone to read. I can't wait to see where this series goes!!...more
Let me start off by saying that I have not read any of the other Unfinished Hero books and was pleasantly surprised that I could just jump into this oLet me start off by saying that I have not read any of the other Unfinished Hero books and was pleasantly surprised that I could just jump into this one. I love Raid. Just the name gives you the image of someone very hot.
Raid is of course the hot guy, Hanna is the towns sweetest girl, and Miss Mildred is her 98 year old grandmother. Hanna use to go to Raids sisters restaurant and sit just to catch a glimpse of Raid. She had been in love with him since she was 6. But he has no clue who she even is. Hanna's tired of just always kinda blending into the background decides to change. I can't give too much away about how Raid finally notices her because then that would give away one of the spoilers. Anyways, I wish I could say that Raid and Hanna's journey was an easy one, but I can't. Raid has his demons, and Hanna has to learn to get past them. She does an exceptional job at that. Let's not forget about Miss Mildred. That woman is a hoot!!
I have been sorta in a book rut lately, seems like a lot of authors have been making the female character just way too annoying, and ignorant for my liking. I suppose trying to make the dude the knight in shining armor. I liked Hanna though. She dealt with his mistakes, his demons, his nightmares. Sure she gets pissed off but she tells him how it is and will not put up with his shit. She won't let him walk all over her and get away with it. Which he really doesn't. I loved the characters though. He wasn't all alpha "you cannot leave this house without me" bullshit, and she wasn't some insecure, ignorant, take too much crap female.Any insecurities she got, he laid them to rest. They done their thing, and there was trust. I love reading books like that. The reason why I did not give it 5 stars. Simple. I never wanted it to end lol. Crappy way of taking away a star but hey I love Raid, okay? I read some other reviews saying that Raid acted like Knight (I believe). Not reading the other books makes me happy now. So if you haven't read any of the others, thats ok, read this book!...more
