If you want something, fun, mysterious, a bit spooky and definitely thrilling, read this!
This is an excellent debut novel! So many times authors try to break out into the writing world and they almost meet it, but just cant grasp what we need as readers...Wiebe has no problems in that field. This book pulled me in, dragged me around a bit and kept me excited and gasping for air as I turned each page to see what would happen next.
The mystery behind the students and the school will drive you insane. Why is everyone so secretive!!?? I figured it out about 5 pages before Anne did, lol. I was like wait a minute....I know where this is going. BUT, even though I figured out part of the story, there was still a major twist I didn't see coming. So much suspense up until the very end.
Reader beware, there is a cliff hanger. It's not one of those pull your hair out kind of hangers, but still it's there and from what I see no second book TBA yet...maybe soon, hopefully soon....IT BETTER BE SOON.
I can't wait to read more about Anne Merchant and more from Wiebe. I was very pleased with the work and loved every minute of the mystery and suspense of this story. ...more
I won't even try to lie to myself. I loved this book!! I was a bit skeptical at first because I have been in a major book funk lately, but this reallyI won't even try to lie to myself. I loved this book!! I was a bit skeptical at first because I have been in a major book funk lately, but this really helped to ease the pain of my funk, lol.
I went in not know what to expect. I never read a book synopsis, I go based on how well I like an author and on other reader recommendations. Ashley told me to read this one for the tour and I was just like okay simply because I know Jasinda is that awesome. Let me tell you...she did not disappoint with this one! I was so hooked from the beginning, I really love where the story started and where it took me.
Some people may say it seems cliche' to have a good ol preachers daughter turned bad. But to know why our heroine did what she did and how she came to do it, I didn't feel like it was cliche' at all. It made for a very interesting and heartfelt story. The emotions that this girl has over the job she is doing was almost too much to handle for this pregnant lady. I just wanted to hug her and be like you don't have to do this!!! But in reality of the story, she really did have to do it.
I know what you are all thinking. Not another girl that needs to be rescued by a rich man (yes, our guy is kind of Fifty-ish minus the dom, but that's not the point, lol), but seriously, it's so much more than that. There is an emotional connection to the characters and I really over looked the fact that our guy was super rich and that our girl needed to be saved. I was hooked just based on the character that they were and the situations that put them together, not the materialistic stuff.
Overall, this is an excellent book. I highly recommend it to any reader that enjoys a good contemporary romance with some really steamy scenes thrown in. Just be prepared to get a little hot for our guy and a bit emotionally attached to our girl. 4 stars.

It’s very hard to say. I have many mixed emotions. I knew going in that the book focused on MJ, but was still sad that there was not more Merrick in it. Book 1 focused on Merrick, we had no idea MJ even existed, so I guess it was expected for book 2 to focus on MJ so we could get to know him, but I still realllllly missed Merrick. MJ did however help make up for that a bit. He is very similar to his father, just in a younger stage of his life.
I love this series. Since book 1 I have been pulled in, I expected to stay that way for the entire series, so far, I have not been wrong. I have been captivated and pulled in many different directions by each character and all of the twist and turns of the series.
What’s the good thing about book 2? NO CLIFFHANGER!!! Remember how book 1 left us all like AHHGGGGGG. Book 2 will not do that to you. It will leave you wanting more and more, but luck for us, a novella will be release June 4th J What would get better than that? Lol
I will say, that even though I missed Merrick terribly, it was not unjustified. Getting to know MJ and his story was well needed and it added even more possibilities to the future. I would like to see book 3 be about Merrick and MJ…so maybe a 4 point person POV, lol. Rachel and Merrick and Maddie and MJ. That would be awesome! I think it would give us an awesome storyline since the 2 groups are just now getting to know each other and we can see how their relationships build.
Overall, I am extremely please with this book. I can’t imagine anything Kelli should have changed and can’t wait to see where the next book takes us. I expect that blood should be shed, lol. ...more

Not to mention the fact that the synopsis lets us know right away the hero is an MMA fighter...our favorite kind!!
I enjoyed reading Extreme Love very much. It was hard for me to put down, even while at work I tried to sneak a few peaks. I just felt this connection to the characters. Our hero because he is a super hot, and huge MMA fighter and our heroine because she is real. She is a curvy girl, not stick thin like most of the heroines we read about and she had many self esteem issue that she had to over come to allow herself to be with the hero. Overall, such a great read. Very entertaining and a few twist along the road.
This book is filled with so many good book qualities. You have the loyal BFF's that will do anything for their girl, but also the BFF that can sometimes push the girl too far. The alpha male that wants what he wants no matter what and also an awesome rivalry. If you are into fighting books and want a fighter that not only shows his dominance but also wants to make sure his girl understand everything about the sport, you need to check this out!. 3.5 stars. ...more

I was so engaged in the story. I read all afternoon, not wanting to stop. I can't find a release day for book 2 anywhere and I need it now!!!
I love vampire love stories, but I also like vampire stories that are kind of a love story but not really. That's what this book was to me. I can see it developing into a major love story, but for book 1, there wasn't enormous amount of romance, just a little. I liked that. It allowed me to get to know the characters and what this vampire tale (because you know all vampire books are different, lol) is like and bond with the book. If I don't bond, it's over for me, so bonding with a book and the characters is a must!
Sofia's main goal in life is to survive without going insane like her mother. He next goal is to keep the relationship she has with her best friend normal....but that is impossible when she has developed feelings for him when he clearly doesn't return the feelings.
One of her problems is solved when she is kidnapped and taken to The Shade. She no longer has to worry about her feelings for Ben. Now she has to worry about going crazy like her mother. Has this really happened? Has she been kidnapped? Or is the crazy finally setting in for good?
Lucky for us, this isn't her crazy, lol. She really has been kidnapped by vampires and taken to The Shade. We would have had a very short story had she only gone crazy.
So, Sofia wakes in The Shade to find out that she is to be a slave to the prince, Derek. His brother Lucas brought her to The Shade. After meeting the prince, Sofia has no choice but to get to know him. She finds herself actually liking him, he isn't as bad as the rest of the vampires seem to be. Derek is also drawn to her for more reasons than her blood:
She showed me a humanity I longed to return to.
Sofia is forced to stay against her will, all she knows is there must be a way out.
Where there's a way in, there simply must be a way out.
After her failed attempt to escape she truly learns that Derek is not as bad as he should be. She feels safe with him.
Ultimately, it was Derek who made life at The Shade worth living.
Then she starts to develop more feelings for him. Probably more than she should....but she can't help it! He is just so safe, and so sweet and everyone else (including the horrid Lucas) is just so horrible!
"From the moment I got here, all I've wanted to do was escape and go back home, but Derek..." she leant toward me and placed a gentle kiss over my cheek "...you've begun to feel like home."
Ah! I just loved this story. Everything about it was enticing to me. It is YA, the heroine is only 17, but it is still so good! With the situation the characters are put in at the end, I can only imagine where book 2 will go. I just can't wait! ...more

I’m talking dragons, were, elves, fey…the whole 9 yards! I loved this book! I mean, really, really loved it! When I finished I was like, well….what do I do now? I honestly did not expect to have this reaction. Based on the synopsis, I knew it would be good, but I didn’t think it would have as much of an impact as it did. I cannot wait for the next book to be released!
This book was an adventure. Every page was like a race to get to the next page.

Nothing I am reading is grabbing me and holding me. I really think this is a case of "it's not you, it's me" in my book love life, lol. I can't say if I finally came out of the funk, or if Pulled was just that good, but I really enjoyed it! I didn't put it down all afternoon and am excited to move on to the second book.
I think I may be on a soul mate kick this week and didn't even know it. This is the 3rd book this week I have read that involves soul mates, or in this books terminology, Twin Flames. Pulled, was by far, my favorite of the soul mate books I have recently read. I just can't place what it was exactly that drew me to this book. I loved the characters, they were easy to like and easy to follow. The story line was awesome. There are a few typos, but that doesn't bother me, the writing was smooth other than the typos. So, I guess if you throw all of that together, it must be the reason why I couldn't put it down, lol.
Naya hasn't had a perfect life. She lost her parents at 13 and has lived with a foster family until she enrolled in college. She is alone on campus other than her controlling boyfriend who decided to follow her because he loves her......(I hate him!).
Great. Not only am I a freshman with no friends (because let's face it, boyfriends shouldn't count), I am also that girl; the one who is always early, eager, and ready to learn.
Naya is used to the numbness that she always feels. She never feels anything, until she meets Etash. When she sees him for the first time she gets this all over sensation that she can't explain. She is pulled to him.
"Whenever I'm... close to him, it's like someone has a rope tied around my waist and is pulling me to wherever he is, and I can't break free."
The book changes between the POV of Naya and Etash. When we read his POV we learn that he is also pulled to her. There is no explaining it, other than the tale his grandmother used to tell him of the Twin Flame, or soul mate. His grandmother believed that everyone has a Twin Flame and the flame will spend eternities searching until the other half is found.
Naya has always thought that she would be with Seth forever. She is used to him, and at time he is known to take away the numbness that becomes her. When she meets Etash she knows that Seth is nothing compared to him. Getting away from Seth may be harder that Etash realizes. He thinks Naya can just leave and be with him, what he doesn't realize is the abuse that Seth causes to Naya.
The ending almost killed me! I'm so glad there is another book. I could have lived if this were a stand alone, but just knowing there is more....that just makes my day!
This book stands between a 3.5 and 4 star for me. I really enjoyed it, couldn't put it down and had to know what was going to happen next. I connected with the characters and fell in love with the story. It's currently bargain priced for .99, what more could we ask for, lol. ...more

It is very YA, but I am hopeful that some of that may change just a teeny tiny bit as the series progresses, lol.
I really liked the book, but still, something was missing for me. I didnt get that I can't put it down feeling, but I did still want to finish it and know what was going to happen next. I am anxious to start book 2 after the way book 1 ended. It wasn't a horrible cliff hanger or any thing, but it did leave me wanting more and ready to move on to book 2. Love triangles are always entertaining. The triangle in this book between Evie, Russell and Reed was still kind of left open at the end of book 1....I NEED to know what is going to happen to the 2 of them!! Not to mention the psycho that got away (not giving any names, lol). I MUST know what is going to happen next!
The romance in the book is immaculate (well, for me any way, it's not too over the top). I can sometimes get over whelmed with I have to read too much lovey dovey (Yes, I know I like romance books! I'm not crazy, lol). I like hard core, or just tell me that the characters have feelings for one another or even subtle at some times; too much gush can really kill my mood. The attraction between the characters is well written. I didnt have to fish for it, I didnt have to fight for it. I knew exactly how each one felt and kind of why they felt that way. I coulnt know all about why they felt that way because it would have killed some parts of the book. The mysery of their feelings is what kept it going.
The book was not quiet 4 stars for me so I have to give it 3 stars on here because that is the next option. I really feel like it is more like 3.75 stars, lol. It's almost 4, but not just there yet. Maybe as I read more of the series I will get there. ...more

It is intense all around. The primary subject is very intense and hit pretty close to home for me having lost a sibling to suicide, but still.... I loved it. This is a beautiful story about forgiveness and self discovery. I am so happy that I finally decided to read it. It was well worth my time and effort and I feel kind of moved by the book.
Even though the subject matter of this book revolves around suicide which is a touchy topic for a lot of people, I wouldn't let that stop you from reading it. It is not graphic at all and only references the topic of suicide, statistics, and why some people commit suicide and then why some people change their mind about it. It is relatable and I would say it's okay for YA to read for sure.
OKay, so where is the romance? lol Well from the synopsis you get that Madison is forced to partner up with a tutor who happens to be one of the Populars. Even though Dean is popular he is still a really good guy. He is genuine, caring and really nice. I loved that about him. The relationship between Madison and Dean was on a slow climb. That made me enjoy the story even more. I was able to get a deeper connection with the characters and it didn't fell rushed. I hate instant love stories. I need to connect with my characters.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I got the connections I needed with my characters, the story was realistic and relatable and the subject was a touchy, but necessary subject to read about. I was little disappointed with the ending. I could have used more...or maybe even a second book, lol. I really liked the characters of the story and would love to read more about their life after high school and how their relationship can progress after the demons Mads had to face. 4 star for me.

At first I was like humm..I dunno, it seems kind of cliché, but the more I read the more I loved it. I think it’s the forbidden love scenario of it all that grabbed me. I mean really, our leading lady pays someone to take her virginity, but then she continues to pay him more and more to keep coming back. She can’t get enough of him; her friend thinks she has the “Pretty Woman” syndrome, lol. How can you actually fall in love with a male escort, it just doesn’t seem possible. How can you know if he is ever being real with you or just doing what you pay him to do?
How do you keep the lines from crossing when you pay someone to spend time with you. You hire them, so basically they are going to do whatever you tell them to do, that’s what got me with this one. I was like; does he really enjoy doing this? Does he really want to see her? Is he just doing it because he is making the big bucks? I HAD to know! I blew through this book, never wanting to put it down. I enjoyed the steamy, double steamy, and triple steamy (many, many steamy) sex scenes but also the more subtle, naïve and gentle sides of the characters.
Lori is a very popular romance writer. She is still a virgin at 26 years old and is at the point of doing anything to get rid of the V! She talks her friend into finding a male escort service for her to use to finally just get it over with…..I wonder if things like this really happen in real life? Lol
Lori meets Ander…her hired hand, lol. She can’t believe that she is going to go through with this. They make all of the necessary arrangements and meet in a specific hotel. After a few steamy moments Lori is curious what Ander will and will not do.
“Are you disappointed in my white-bread ways?” he asked, with another twitch of his lips.
After Lori finally gets what she wants she finds herself wanting more and more. Ander is a very popular escort, she has to book 2-3 weeks in advance but as she makes more engagements with him, it’s like he becomes more available. She is able to book a week in advance then able to book just days in advance. She hears through the grape vine that he is retiring, but he hasn’t mentioned it to her so it must not be true…..could he be clearing his schedule to spend more time with her?
“I can hold you if you want,” Ander offered. When she just stared blankly at the dark outline of his face, he added, “A lot of my clients like that afterwards.”
“Oh.” As she processed her feelings, she realized it would be nice to be held. But by someone who actually cared about her. “No. That’s all right. Thanks. I don’t want to pretend anything. I’m not trying to fool myself.”
Lori and Anders business relationship changes. They spend more time talking after doing the do, and Ander learns about Lori, while Lori pry’s to find out anything she can about him. The business relationship turns into an almost romantic relationship, but neither characters knows exactly how the other is feeling. Lori feels Ander may just be acting for her benefit and Ander doesn’t really care for Lori to know how he feels, to keep things simple. He is mad at himself for developing feelings.....and that is that. I can't really tell you more or you won't get all the gushy feelings that I got! Seriously, I loved Ander's ways and everything about him. The story between the 2 characters was just....speechless, gonna have to stick with the word I always use---AWESOME!
I really loved this story. I like how the author always knew just the right time to hurry up and get back to the good stuff. There wasn’t all kind of extra add in to the story that made it seem longer than it needed to be. Yes, we got a few outside scenes that didn’t involve the main characters together, but the story always jumped back quickly to what I was ready to read about.
I’m giving 4 stars, but really it’s almost 4.5, so how about we say it’s 4.25, lol. I can’t really decide. ...more

Thoughtless and Beautiful Disaster are both one of a kind and hold a special place in my heart, but if you enjoyed them, I know you will enjoy Rocked Under. I see book 2 morphing into something fun, emotional and angsty.
I loved the book, but there were a few parts when I was like really, is this happening again? And I had my, just shut up and kiss her already moments, but all of that builds up to the end, and the wanting and waiting and getting pissed off was all worth it.
I liked the characters, but something was missing. I can’t quite place it. I connected with them, but at the same time I didn’t. I wish I could pin point exactly what it was, it’s just like I needed something more. Scott’s character was great. He is a womanizing, bad boy, rock star. I swooned over him, but not near as much as I hoped I would.
Even though I didn’t connect with the characters as much as I wanted, I still really enjoyed the book and storyline as a whole.
Emma moves with her mom to the US. She lives with her cousin, Ashley below Ashley’s long time friend, Scott. Ashley warns Emma from the beginning Scott is a womanizer. He doesn’t do girlfriends, and is pretty much a one night stand guy.
Ashley talks Emma into going out with her one night to the local bar. She hasn’t met many people yet and thinks it will be a good way to make new friends. Emma is immediately drawn to the guy on stage singing his heart out.
I was blown away again at the beauty of him. Dark, silky overgrown hair, which was a sexy mess, hung over his right eye until he swept it back. He had high cheeks and full lips, which were almost making out with the mic. He was outstanding…
Emma later finds out that the guy she was oogling on stage is Scott. She is disgusted with herself. She has never looked at someone like they were man candy before. This isn’t the person she is. She’s also disgusted that she is attracted to the womanizer, she doesn’t do one nighters, so she knows there is no way she can ever get involved with Scott.
Emma and Scott have a rough start. She is determined that he is some horrible person and demands all kinds of answers from him.
“I’m not into relationships.” He shrugged as if it was nothing, but I knew he was lying. “So basically, you sleep around because you can get away with it and you think that having a girlfriend would hinder you and you’d get bored.”.
Emma and Scott finally make it over the hating each other part of their “friendship” as Emma starts to see another side of him.
To the outside world he was Scott Mason; bad boy and womanizer, In private, he was Scott Mason; caring and loyal friend.
Scott has this crazy protective thing going on when it comes to Emma. If she is ever I a situation that is slightly inappropriate he breaks it up and always threatens to beat any guy that touches her. Emma is confused. Scott hates her, then he is her friend and now he acts like a crazed lunatic whenever she is just trying to have fun.
There was a storm gazing at me, and anger emanating from him that made me flinch. “I can’t stop wanting you and seeing you with As is- it’s driving me fucking crazy.”
This leaves Emma even more confused. It like, she wants him but she knows the kind of person he is so she avoids him. He says he wants her, yet he brings home a different girl every night and has all of these anger issues when Emma questions him about anything.
Scott continues trying to tell Emma what to do, who she can and can’t see. She is going insane with the back and forth that she keeps getting from him.
“I don’t belong to you. In fact, no one belongs to you,” I sniped and then felt bad. Why didn’t I know when to keep my mouth shut?
Okay, so I loved the story. I liked the characters, but I needed a little more. I swooned over Scott some, I’m pretty sure I will swoon over him way more in book 2 since it looks like his band is going on tour J I can’t wait for book 2. I have this gut feeling that it will be awesome! ...more
