This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Edgar Mason can see plainly that he is losing Agamemnon to Theodora now that she is improving; gifts, kisses and dinners are what Agamemnon gives to Theodora and Mason stands at the sideline watching. Agamemnon is torn between his feelings for Mason and his duty and guilt, when his brother, Menelaus, disappears his guilt doubles and he is determined not to let Theodora fall back into Pandarus' hands again. The Martian's are getting ready for their final push on Earth and Mason and Agamemnon have to discover just where the 'Crown of Towers' is by following random clues. Mason and Agamemnon must make a final sacrifice if they are going to save the world.
This is the conclusion of the Agamemnon Frost series and it definitely finishes with a bang. Mason and Agamemnon have had to revert back to master and servant, Agamemnon has to fulfill a duty that was arranged when he was very young and Mason knows that Agamemnon always does his duty. When Agamemnon's brother goes missing they both know something is wrong, but the Pandarus' plans for them fail when they don't act as planned and they have to face their biggest challenge yet when the Martian's plans move forward.
Well, we left Mason and Agamemnon at the end of 'The hollow Ships' with Theodora being placed in Agamemnon's care, now with Theodora improving Mason is left in emotional agony watching as Agamemnon seems to woe his fiancee. Agamemnon and Mason have to jump back on the case of the invading Martian's with very little to go on. Their relationship is in limbo with no way forward, but with the threat lurking and Mason unsure if Pandarus can still influence him they are stuck together longing for something that may never be realized.
I have really enjoyed this trilogy of historical sci-fi, of a difficult relationship that never quite got off the ground and a secret agency trying to save Earth. We finally see some happiness for both Agamemnon and Mason but it isn't without it's losses. We are taken on an adventurous journey as we finally come to the conclusion of the Martian invasion, it is an incredible descriptive final where rescue comes just in time. We are drawn into the turmoil that Mason feels as he watches from the sideline, we understand his sacrifice and we applaud his courage.
I recommend this to those who love historical science fiction, a race against time, miraculous rescues and a love that won't give up. ...more
This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Edgar Mason has no choice but to embark on a new life as Agamemnon's partner and valet, it is a life he is coming to resent and love as it holds him close to the man he can not touch. Agamemnon has a duty to uphold and although he wishes things could be different he has a responsibility that can not be ignored. The two together must investigate the rumor of 'hollow ships' and finding Pandarus and discover that Theodora wasn't lost like they thought. Mason and Frost will find their bond tested as they embark on their mission.
This is a great continuation of the historical, science fiction storyline where Martian's are plotting the demise of Earth. Mason finds himself frustrated as his attraction to Agamemnon pulls and tears at him, in a society that doesn't approve of males loving males and is endangered by the martians Mason knows he can't act and that Agamemnon is bound by those same rules. When Agamemnon and Mason try to discover more about the 'hollow ships' they find themselves caught and narrowly escape destruction. The fate of the world rests on their shoulders and their relationship is still blurred.
Sometimes you come across a story where you don't really know where the characters really stand and this is definitely one of those stories. With Mason and Agamemnon, not only does the time they live in work against them, but the work they now both do does as well. Mason is a wonderfully written character and you can see the fight he has with himself over his longing for Agamemnon, that longing seeps through the pages and it is bittersweet being so close to the one he adores but unable to act on it. Agamemnon is harder to get a real feel for in his feelings for Mason, sometimes it is as though he really wants Mason but at other times it is like he is a blank slate.
As the story progresses we see the mechanics of what the Martians are doing and we are given some wonderful descriptions of the bleakness that mankind is heading for if they don't stop the invasion. Pandarus is certainly a resourceful Martian, but he just can't quite get a handle on Agamemnon, and his hold on Mason seems to be slipping further away. So we have the excitement of danger, explosions and a brief trip to the future with the added twist of the discovery that Theodora is alive and the Martians are planning more than just an invasion to take over the world.
I recommend this to those who love historical science fiction, great characters, a love being confined, hope and wishes and an ending that makes it clear this story isn't finished just yet. ...more
Rylan is an assassin, a very good assassin, he always gets his targets as long as they deserve the punishment. His new assignment isn't going to be easy, getting to a man who is paranoid about security will be a challenge, but when Rylan meets Gold and Loxy he is determined to take out the Leader even if he dies trying.
This is a great science fiction, erotica story that is entertaining, has action and is sexy. Rylan is alone, it's just him and his ship, having friends or relationships is impossible in his line of work as an assassin but he doesn't let it get to him. When he takes on his latest assignment he gets a lot more than he bargained for and he finally loses his heart. But he is a killer and can't let his new loves be tainted by his job. Gold is sweet and beautiful he's had a crush on Loxy for ages but has never been allowed to act on it, meeting Rylan gives Gold the push to finally act on his desire. Loxy spends the night with Rylan and finds himself in major trouble, Rylan comes rushing to the rescue and Loxy finally finds the happiness he wanted with Gold and Rylan.
This is a great little lovefest with danger, escapes and rescues littering the story. Rylan is a great character who loves what he does, Gold seems like a shy standoffish character until you learn his background and Loxy is slightly sneaky but with good intentions. All the characters are great and extremely sexual, one again James Cox has woven a wonderful mix of science fiction and erotica. The story flows well with lots of sexual tension and escapades to heat the blood, there's daring escapes and rescues that has your heart pounding and a developing love that is sweet and sexy... oh and I won't even mention the f**k machine :-).
I recommend this to those that want a sexual short that is enjoyable to read, a good dose of sci-fi with some danger thrown in, sex hot enough and plentiful enough to have you fanning yourself and clenching your thighs and an ending that has you sighing at it's sweetness....more
This book is part of a series and is best read in order. When Trev was handed over to his new master, when he was chosen for the lottery, he was worried but that worry soon turned to love, now heading for Earth with Yanai he wants his feelings returned or he wants his freedom. Yanai is besotted with his human and will do anything for him, but Trev always seems to reject what is offered and Yanai does the only thing he can think of... he lets Trev go. Can Yanai and Trev overcome their miscommunication of their customs or is it too late for them to share their love with each other?
So in this new addition to the Owned series Trev has already been with his owner for nearly a year, so the relationship is already well established but that doesn't mean that everything is perfect.... far from it. Trev wants more than to be a beloved pet to Yanai so when Yanai refuses to give Trev his heart Trev asks to be released when they reach Earth. Yanai is devastated when Trev wants to leave him but his only other option would be to give Trev his heart... and he can't live without it.
It soon becomes clear to us that there are huge misunderstandings going on between the two lovers, even after nearly a year neither really knows much about the others customs and it takes a while and also some nagging from the gray men for Trev to realize it isn't all Yanai's fault either. Now while they both try to reconcile and express themselves in a way the other fully understands there is more going on in the background of the story. Yanai wins another human in the lottery which Trev is unhappy about, but they have much more to be concerned about when the Pressian's turn up demanding the return of Trev.
I really love this series because with each one we are introduced to more information about the Pressian's and their subjugation of the Eoeans, but finally we are given a hint that maybe the Pressian's bullying might be coming to an end. Trev and Yanai are wonderful characters who are incredibly in love with each other they just didn't know how to communicate with each other, they are an incredible hot couple who burn up the sheets and give us some really hot sex. We see characters from Bound by Deception, and you even warm up to the gray men after a while because they certainly develop as we see more of them.
I have to recommend this to those who love aliens and humans falling in love, reconciling after misunderstandings, hot sex, passionate love, a desperate escape and a wonderful romantic, hot and sexy ending....more
A cataclysmic event causes the world Lucian knew to nearly cease to exist, with the earth churned up and building crumbling Lucian's small band of survivors seek others and shelter, but with the acid rain and the strange night time creatures they have a harsh journey ahead of them. Raide was a novice monk when the earthquake first struck and the acid rain fell, he watched as those around him disappeared and with another young novice sets out to discover what happened. Raide and Lucian meet, Raide overjoyed that his soul-mate still lives and their attraction flares, but the Dark Ones are out there seeking to spread their blackness and Raide and Lucian must fight for each other.
This is a great story of two nearly parallel worlds colliding, with few survivors and a daunting new world. Lucian survives the earthquake and the acid rain, he rushes to his best friend Emanuel and they discover nearly everyone else has disappeared. With one other survivor they set off to check on loved ones and join up with those who have survived, they face the desolation and set off for the city hoping there are more people. Raide and Julius are the only survivors at the monastery and they set off to find out what has happened and if anyone else has survived, but they fall into the hands of the Dark Ones before being rescued by Raide's soul-mate, Lucian, and they all embark on a journey of survival hoping to avoid the Dark Ones and the night creatures.
This is one of those stories that has quite a bit for us to grasp, somehow two parallel worlds have collided and the destruction is devastating, we have bands of survivors searching for others, but none of them can make sense of what has happened until people from the opposite worlds meet. Mysterious night creatures attack at night and there are bands of Dark Ones or evil people who roam during the day, then we have the various relationships of the survivors. We also discover that some people on Raide's world have soul-mates and some people can see auras, it adds that bit of extra intrigue to the story as well as the fact that Raide's world was three month's in-front with time.
This story holds your attention from the start but you do begin to question Lucian's relationship with Emanuel early on, but you begin to understand the dynamics of their friendship. Lucian's and Raide's relationship is pretty special their coming together is both sweet and powerful. The discoveries we make are good and the slight action we see is great. The band of survivors are an interesting selection and you become invested in their journey and wonder what they face. The world building is great, you get a wonderful sense of the desolation that surrounds them all on their journey with the burnt out cars and destroyed buildings, the piles of empty clothes and the nameless, faceless identification as though those that are gone never existed.
I recommend this to those who love strange post-apocalyptic events, bonds being made, relationships being forged, hot sweet loving, kidnappings and rescues and and ending that is also a beginning....more
Thayne is the captain of an exploratory vessel and is on the mission of his life, he has to find out just how far the Purge, a plague like virus, has traveled and lead the mission to find the cure. Thayne discovers a savant holds the answers and the Royal families release him to Thayne's care, and Thayne discovers more than just a gifted man who is able to save their worlds, he discovers a man who he can love. Arohn is a Beacon, a connection to the Gods (the Wyrms), he has been kept in suspended animation for hundreds of years only to be used as a last resort with his connection to the Gods. Arohn is lonely and his connection to Thayne gives him hope of more than being just a Beacon. But with the fate of worlds in his hands Arohn must make the biggest sacrifice of his life.
This is a great science fiction story of an alien race racing to find a cure and resorting to desperate means to save their worlds. Thayne is a man who has the weight of his people on his shoulders as the Purge is spreading turning them into mindless infected craving living flesh, Arohn is a man who was taught that he is a direct connection to the Wyrms and his duty is to his people. These two men come together in desperate times and fall in love, but, the duty they both face could tear them apart. With love and understanding between the two of them they might wish their future was different but with Arohn being the Beacon he is destined for the cryo-chambers when the danger has past.
Well, I will have to explain that while I call the characters men they are male aliens, they are described well and I really should have paid more attention to the cover then the horns wouldn't have been a surprise LOL. Thayne and Arohn make a wonderful sweet couple but even we can't hold out much hope for a happily ever after when their people have a habit of sticking the gifted in cryo-chambers only to be pulled out as needed. Both men grab what happiness they can though and we get a very pleasant ending with the help of the Wyrms.
This story is wonderfully written with excitement and action in just the right places, we get good descriptions of the worlds and what everyone is facing and we also get the full impact of Arohn's lonely existence. While their attraction is instant and Arohn wants to embrace his freedom with companionship we see Thayne's struggle as he balances what he wants with his duty to his people, there is much stress put on both characters and you really do hope it all comes out right in the end. The interesting twist of the Wyrm's and the background of the Purge will have me looking for the next book.
I recommend this to those who love science fiction, sexy aliens finding love, a great storyline which is left open, hot sex, action and excitement and a great ending for two great characters. ...more
This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Jack and Sean have settled in Mexico, having survived the aliens who hunted them they still keep their heads down as much as they can. When Jack starts to have dreams about his 'son' Nicky and Sean admits to dreams of his 'son' David the suspicions that they aren't safe begin to mount but seeing a US Marshall with a daughter who looks just like their sons have them ready to flee.
Well, we are again brought into the spear of aliens infiltrating the world, with children used to bring the adults to their knees and a desperate fight for survival. Jack and Sean have come a long way from Haywire, building a new life far from those that hunt them, but with the dreams coming they begin to realize that those that want them haven't given up their hunt. But, before they can move on again their nightmares come knocking. Sean and Jack get separated and have to find their way back to each other, but things become complicated when Sean remembers what the numbers mean and he becomes one of Earths last chances of survival.
I thought Haywire was trippy with the confusion of what was and what wasn't real and we are again treated to the doubts as Sean and Jack take control and fight not only the aliens but their memories as well. Sean comes to the fore in this story as his past is fully remembered and the aliens are desperately trying to reclaim both Jack and Sean. The flickers in time as the scenes change are jolting and you again begin to wonder what is real and what is dreams and wishful hopes, you can clearly see how both men still love their sons and wish it had all been real and you can only admire them as they refuse to give in and accept the blissful false by clinging to the nightmare truth. Sean's secrets that he forgot really bring this story to life as we realize that the aliens have nearly conquered large parts of Earth, and the secrets that were locked in Sean's mind could bring liberation for all.
I recommend this to those who love science fiction, secret alien invasions, a love that overcomes mind control, a great twist and a wonderful sweet ending. ...more
This story is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Ron was a Celian Commander before he deserted because of his demons, working as a mercenary for Ami is a reprieve he was looking for but then Zaoh a Haffa joins the band of mercenaries and Ron's peace becomes turmoil. Haffa's and Celian's have a history of blood and violence but the tension between Ron and Zaoh is tinged with attraction, when on a mission that goes wrong the pair give in but Ron has secrets that could lead to his death at the hands of Zaoh.
This is a great science fiction story that is rampant with sexual tension and personal strife, the road to happiness is violent and sexual and forgiveness is hard to give and accept. Ron has a fierce attraction to Zaoh and it started when he spotted the Haffa on the battlefield, but it is also tinged with fear and hate for the brutal Haffa who killed so many of his men. Ron denies what he feels as best as he can not just because of the different sides they were on but because of the secrets he carries. Zaoh wants Ron and means to have him, he knows far more than Ron realizes but Zaoh takes great pleasure in dominating the answers out of Ron.
Ron and Zaoh are great characters and are an absolutly blazing hot couple, their attraction is a fierce presence but it is tinged with fear, anger, hate and shame. Ron holds his shame inside and when the darkness gets to be too much he yearns for the pain to overwhelm it, when Zaoh gets his hands on him Zaoh knows exactly what to do. Although they have a very combustible relationship and they are breaking down Ron's barriers we aren't left with just a relationship between the two, we also get to see them in action when they are ambushed and the revenge they enact on behalf of their benefactor Ami.
I recommend this if you love science fiction, characters dealing with messed up feelings, rough D/s sex and a touch of BDSM, hot explosive sex, interesting characters with history and a great ending. ...more
Edgar Mason was forced out of the army when the British Empire replace its foot soldiers with monstrous machines. Now he is working any jobs that he can find as a personal servant to the elite of Liverpool. When he finds himself as the personal servant for Agamemnon Frost he thinks the man is a dandified fop who gets his blood racing, but he soon discovers that not everything is as it seems. Agamemnon Frost has an important task to complete, he hates that he has to allow Mason to fall into the well placed trap, but his mission to protect Earth must come first and the attraction he feels toward Mason second. And when they fall into the hands of Pandarus their attraction to each other might be the only thing that keeps them alive.
This is a great historical science fiction/steampunk story that has aliens trying to take over the British Empire. Mason is a great character who gets drawn into a war that he never knew existed, a war with alien beings who want Earth. Agamemnon is working with a secret movement to stop the infiltration, but it is far from easy when the very Beings he is fighting have developed the technology the British Empire is using to fight their wars. The men have to work together when they are set on being brainwashed by Pandarus, and they try to bring down Pandarus' homebase.
Kim Knox has written a story that combines history and science fiction giving it very steampunk feel and giving us the beginning of a complex relationship. Agamemnon is a man who has to hide behind foppish behavior to keep his real agenda, that of an agent who must stop the aliens. Mason is just a soldier who gets pulled into a secret war because of his birth date. Mason just humors Agamemnon at first until he realizes that the man really isn't nuts, and that he is telling the truth about aliens. Mason has a forbidden longing for Agamemnon and it seems to be reciprocated, but first Mason has to follow Agamemnon's lead if he wants to leave the house alive.
This really is a great start to the series, it leads you in but has you grasping for information and Agamemnon is stingy with dishing it out. We are left with an anticipation for the future books and what is going to happen with both Mason and Agamemnon. We don't find out everything we want but we are left with a good idea of what has happened to both men and what they have become, and thankfully their attraction is still fierce.
I will recommend this to those who love something a little different, aliens and history mixing, a budding relationship and an ending that leaves you reaching for the next book. ...more
Shane is participating in the Hunt determined to surrender his birthright that has only caused him danger, all he has to do is last as long as possible without becoming a cats victor and his new life will be set. Mariket has a Hunt as part of the negotiations with other planets, during mating season participants are chosen and the Hunt is broadcasted while the cats hunt their mates. Lore has found his victor but he is in danger from rogue cats and dangerous beasts, someone wants his victor dead and Lore will do anything to protect his mate.
This is a great hot, scorching science fiction story that has a mating hunt twined with planet negotiations and a television spectacle. Shane is running from his birthright, a birthright that his brothers have tried in the past to kill him for, taking part in the hunt will give him a new lease in life if all goes to plan. Lore is enjoying his hunt, his human choice is a delight to chase and the capture and release is fun. Shane discovers that the cat on his trail is not about to let him go and Lore has to convince the human to be his victor. But something is wrong, a rogue cat attacks, beasts from outside get into the arena and the target seems to be Shane.
This is a great story and we are thrown into the thick of the action from the opening pages, it's a fight for survival as well as a fight to tempt the cats. We are thrown into a world where sexual encounters are hot, passionate, slightly violent but always scorching and broadcasted for all to see. Shane is a great character and he has a plan, it isn't his fault that it doesn't quite work out but he does try to fight the instinct to give up. Lore is a sweetie who treats his human like he is a treasure, well, after he has f**ked the man into submission. They have some rocky times as Lore tries to convince Shane that Shane is his victor, and Shane doesn't give in gracefully at all.
The secondary storyline is cool as you begin to figure out that someone is targeting Shane, disrupting the Hunt and trying to destroy the negotiations of the cats. You really are surprised by who the culprit is and the lengths the assassin goes to, to pin Shane down, it might have worked as well if not for Shane's determination to stay with his cat, and Lore's determination to rescue his human. The sex in this story is really scorching and can be a bit brutal at times.... those cat mating instincts you know!
I recommend this to those who love inter-species mating, scorching hot sex, hunting and claiming, a killer plot and a great storyline that keeps you on your toes. ...more
Tyrel is a bodyguard and has been assigned his newest charge, an ambassador who is assigned the task of negotiating with a primitive planet. Verithe is an ambassador for the Union of planetary governments, he is heading for negotiations with Corrina, a planet which is called cursed. Verithe and Tyrel find themselves stranded on the planets surface and fighting for their lives, but the one thing they don't fight is their attraction to each other. Tyrel wonders how Verithe will manage such a hostile territory with his lighthearted and gentle nature and Verithe wonders if Tyrel will be able to ignore the seductive pull of the violence and danger.
This is a great science fiction story that takes us on a journey to a primitive world where only the strongest survive. Verithe is heading to the cursed planet Corrina after they demanded negotiations, not knowing what they face but knowing already what the Union have decided. Tyrel has one job and that is to keep Verithe safe, unfortunately keeping him safe proves harder than he thought when the Corrinan's aren't happy with the way negotiations are going. The two men survive by sheer will and a survivor from a previous expedition, after they are betrayed by one of their own, now they just have to wait for rescue and pray that it comes in time.
This story is wonderfully written, it gives us enough back story so we aren't left in the dark over what they are facing on the planet and lets us know that their time on the planet isn't going to be easy. Verithe seems like a gentle soul and although he doesn't like violence accepts that sometimes it is the only way. Tyrel is a character that is harsher, he will do what must be done but sometimes loses himself to the violence. Both characters coming together balance each other out and Tyrel sees the steel running through Verithe and Verithe helps to keep Tyrel tempered. Their sexual relationship is very hot, but at first came out of nowhere when they were still in a very precarious position, it was also a shock because although there was vague murmurs about attraction there wasn't any indication that it was that strong.
I loved the way Corrina was portrayed as a primitive violent place where you could easily let your inner dark side take over, letting yourself be seduced by the darker undertones of survival of the strongest. I liked how Verithe somehow managed to keep Tyrel leashed and how Tyrel loved the more easy going Verithe. This is a really good storyline which is original and has plenty of action, it has a love developing in horrid conditions and has friendships emerging with the less violent Corrinan's.
I recommend this if you love science fiction, primitive planets and inhabitants, strong characters, hot sex, action and danger and a very satisfying ending. ...more
Lark has no choice but to leave his partner behind when his partner got captured, he has lived with the guilt for six months but he tried everything he could to get his partner out, now six months later Derek is his prisoner and Lark tries to get Derek to face the truth. Derek doesn’t know what to believe but he knows that he has to try and resist the man he loves and escape out of the hellhole he is in.
This book is well written and is extremely intense from the beginning till the end. Lark knows the truth of what really happened six months ago while Derek believes what he has been told by the Intergalactic Investigation Bureau now they are face to face and both men are bitter and angry and it is directed at each other. This is a very emotional explicit story as we see both men struggle with their feelings of anger, betrayal and guilt for different reasons.
There are unexpectedly numerous explicit, erotic sex scenes which have a BDSM kink but nothing really heavy. All the scenes are intense as we progress through the book and we get an overview of what happened to separate the two men in the first place and we see the progression of the relationship as they admit their feelings to each other but it isn’t an easy ride for either men as they try to sort out their doubts, escape and to admit that they had both changed since they last saw each other.
The storyline is good and I really can’t wait for the next book in the series as I really want to see how the plot will unfold, we get the beginning in this book as Derek finally realises just where the betrayal came from and Lark knows beyond a doubt that he was left on Lancarina in deep cover to die, now with both men back together anything is possible ;-). We also have some dark areas where torture and rape are alluded to and the brutal treatment that Derek suffered and Lark had to dish out while undercover are spoken or thought of.
I have to recommend this one to those who love science fiction, brutal worlds, deep betrayal, lies, truth, really hot erotic sex, two men looking for the truth and a happy ending. ...more
As the world is dying the government come up with a plan for the human race to survive, the population sleeping in hibernation chambers deep underground as The Cultivator works above ground. When Glenton wakes up it is to horror, Glenton is saved by Aric but many others die, and when the dust settles there's six young survivors who have to learn to survive long enough until the day the hatch opens and they can return to the surface. When Glenton turns eighteen he has to try to understand his feelings for Aric, and just when he is coming to terms with his new relationship disaster strikes.
This is a great little story that is a touch YA, Coming of Age and futuristic sci-fi. Glenton wakes to chaos when the hibernation chambers are cut off, Aric, Rawn, Chazin, Gela and Enne are the only other survivors and they have several more years before the surface is safe to live on. The six grow up clearing tunnels for when the hatches open, developing relationships with each other but when Glenton discovers that it is Aric that flips his switch, he doesn't know what to do as boys should be with girls, shouldn't they?
I really enjoyed this little story and loved the way that the story progressed, and the way it is set out and how we are left wondering until the very end just what really happened with the hibernation chambers. The developing relationship between Glenton and Aric is kinda sweet, Glenton has no clue that it is normal to be attracted to another male and they have a lot of hidden meeting places so they can be close. Their relationship is one that develops from friends to lovers and gets a touch hot under the collar as they experiment with each other.
I recommend this to those who love futuristic sci-fi, young guys coming together, hot encounters and a new beginning for the human race....more
Liam was unwillingly brought to 'The Colony' with his now best friend Riley eight years ago. Now stuck underground his only hope of a way out is if Riley wakes up from his five year coma, but although he clings to his hopes of returning to the 'Outside' he has the opportunity to improve his lot by joining the Elete soldiers. Can he give up his dreams of returning home or should he throw the security away on the small hope that there really is a way out?
This story has a very dystopian feel to it, leaving you feeling like we are reading about an all new world or about survival after an apocalypse, but it isn't, it is a secret land that is whispered about in legends... Atlantis, Shangri la or Avalon but it is far from the paradise that we dream about. Liam and Riley were dragged to 'The Colony' against their will, they were forgot about then left to fend for themselves, now several years later Liam looks after Riley as best he can, but Liam's habit of gambling against the odds always backfires. When Riley wakes up from his five years coma unable to remember much of anything, Liam's hopes of a way out begins to fade and he becomes desperate.
This is a great story that is very involved and has many mystery connections, there are many interesting aspects that we discover the longer we read and the characters are interesting and varied. Liam is a dreamer, he dreams of returning to New York and his life and refuses to accept the life he now has, he has the opportunity of a lifetime but his dreams are too much to let go of. Riley is messed up he can't remember much and Liam is nothing like the Liam he remembers, as time progresses he himself begins to change and there is a huge mystery surrounding him.
Although this is a great story, I did wish there was some explanation to explain 'The Colony' rather than the clues that were dropped through out the book. I found myself struggling with the setting until I figured out they were on Earth but in a secret underground world, with very rare people. This is a brilliant storyline that you will leave you both frustrated and desperate for more, you will love and hate the characters as we follow them through the difficulties they face and the difficulties they bring on themselves. We see many story threads that are just at the beginning but we do get a sweet though awkward relationship between Liam and Riley.
I recommend this story if you love science fiction and legends merging, fighting for your freedom against the odds, finally accepting your place in the world, a honest sweet love and an twisty ending that raises the eyebrows in surprise. ...more
Raphael finds himself fleeing for his life when a coup is staged against his family, his entire family has been wiped out and the only way he can survive is to get off world and find his sister Raphaella. With mercenaries and bounty hunters dogging his heels Raphael literally runs into his salvation: a genetically engineered soldier named Hadrian Ice, hiring Ice brings to him more than just regaining the Throne. Ice isn’t looking to be hired but having a beautiful young man begging for his aid has Ice agreeing to protect him, all Ice has to do is get Raphael off world and to the Council of Worlds. But, Ice discovers something he never thought possible and is reluctant to let the Prince go.
This is a brilliant science fiction story of a political coup, power hungry madmen, running for freedom and finding love in unexpected circumstances. Raphael is a prince and has many secrets, he has just watched his father being murdered and he has had to run knowing that he faces a similar fate. He has no intention of staying gone though, the people responsible will be made to pay, but first he needs aid from the Council of Worlds and then to find his sister Raphaella. Running into Ice is his blessing as he hires the Soldier to get him to safety but he never reckoned on the attraction he would feel for the man. Ice hides many facts from Raphael as he helps the beautiful young man, he will do all within his power to see the young man get his birth right back but the powerful attraction he feels for Raphael is one he cannot ignore.
I loved this story, it has a wealth of detail that isn’t too heavy and is easy to follow. The storyline is brilliant and we get to know the characters well, Raphael is a lot more than he first seems and Ice also develops into more than a simple Soldier. Together they make a fantastic team, in both dangerous and sensual situations. The science fiction aspect is wonderfully done with simple explanations that still give us a wealth of detail, the coup is carried out excellently with us getting glimpses into the minds of those that carried it out.
The relationship between Raphael and Ice is given to us in great detail so we can see exactly what both men are thinking and feeling, and we can also understand why they both hold back on admitting their feelings. The two men are hot together, their love is much more than just physical. I liked the fact that the coup didn’t overshadow their relationship and that the relationship didn’t overshadow the coup, it was blended together perfectly giving us a brilliant story of both love and adventure.
I recommend this to those that love science fiction love stories, hot capable men, danger and madmen, seeking justice and discovering the love of your life. ...more
This story is part of a series and although it can be read as a standalone it is best enjoyed as part of the series. The government has decided to pull a fast one on the Eoeans when they demand an extra sacrifice. Jack is in prison serving a long sentence when he is told he is going to be a sacrifice, with no other real option he takes the government up on their offer and finds himself the property of an Eoean/Renka diplomat. Kelr doesn’t want a human, the touch and vibrations coming off others unsettles his Renka half and he doesn’t like the idea of owning a slave. What Kelr doesn’t count on though is the human’s determination to have a relationship with him and Kelr finds his defences breaking down. But Eoean society looks down on criminals and when the Pressian’s start to make trouble Jack and Kelr could find themselves in hot water.
This story is a great addition to the Owned series as it expands the storyline of the Eoeans background. Jack is in prison for something he hasn’t done but he will gladly stay there to save the person he is protecting, but he is given an opportunity that he can’t really turn down. Kelr is pretty unique, he is half Renka so he can manipulate vibrations and change the resonance to something different but he is also half Eoean which means he has the same urges, but touch is difficult for him. Jack discovers a way for them to still find pleasure but Kelr swears he will find someone for Jack to be full partners with, Jack doesn’t want that but Kelr is stubborn.
I really enjoyed this story, we discover more about the Eoeans position with the Pressian’s and the demands they are under, we see another human find soul resonance with their beloved alien and we see how they work through the problems they face. Their sexual escapades are extremely hot and I loved how they first tried to solve the touching problem. I also really liked that Kelr tried to do what was best for Jack before admitting defeat in the face of Jack’s need. Each story brings us a bit closer to understanding why the Eoeans want the humans, the soul resonance is one but we also discover that the Pressian’s are demanding them as payment as well.
I have to recommend this to those who love science-fiction, futuristic, alien loving, if they want red hot sex, if they love humans who know what they want, if they want a great storyline with a developing twist and a great ending. ...more
This story is part of a series and although it can be read as a standalone is best read in order. Keenan has been delivering the letters for the Eoean lottery for years and is one day shy of being ineligibly for the lottery when he receives his own letter in his paycheck. Finding himself being pawed by horny scary aliens has him terrified and there is nothing he can do about it. Oco has made his wealth by being able to read others minds by touching them, it makes relationships and lovers impossible and he is lonely. Visiting an auction has him making a rare find a being he can touch without reading them, he has to have the rare creature for his own but he has fierce competition. Keenan and Oco have an instant attraction between them and no matter how much they want to be together they have the problem and they face fierce opposition.
This is a great addition to the Owned series where the human and alien have to fight and negotiate their way to a happy ending. Keenan is a great character who has had his own lonely life, working as a letter deliverer doesn’t make him any friends. When he meets Oco it isn’t in the best situation but getting to know him has him wishing that he could stay with Oco. Oco is intrigued by the human and is delighted to discover he can touch him, when Oco loses out to someone else he takes matters into his own hands and it isn’t long before Oco discovers soul resonance with Keenan.
I really enjoyed this story and was interested to see how working for lottery affected Keenan, the poor man didn’t have much of a life and longed for a relationship like his neighbours had. Oco is in much the same position, he’s alone because of his abilities and in Keenan finds someone he can relax with. Together they are especially hot and fit together perfectly, they only have to find a way to stay together. This is a well written story that veers off from the D/s that we saw in Bound by Pleasure & Bound by Temptation to a more equal sexual experience without the dominance or submission coming to the fore.
I recommend this to those that love science fiction, hot sex, saving someone from a fate worse than death, escaping loneliness, finding true love in unexpected places and a great ending....more
The human race are now a race of soldiers sent out to fight wars for other races, as long as the price is right of course. Intelligence analyst Ilyan has predicted that those races are about to turn on Earth but High Command refuse to listen. Ilyan is forced to run and he is desperate to spread the truth so he goes to those who are on the ground, the soldiers who blindly follow orders of those that have betrayed humanity. Jadeth is one of those soldiers. Jadeth joins up with Ilyan and his small band when the unit he is with is caught up in shell fire, discovering Ilyan’s story he can’t believe the group of nutters are traveling in hostile territories spreading such an outlandish tale, until he remembers an exchange he saw years earlier. Now Jadeth is Ilyan’s guardian keeping the man safe so he can spread the story, but with High Command assassins chasing them they both know that survival means keeping one foot ahead.
While this story isn’t M/M or a romance it does have a kinda bromance feel to it as Jadeth gets to know Ilyan. Earth has produced soldiers for other races war for hundreds of years, churning out soldiers is humanities only commodity and they exploit it to the fullest. Ilyan has predicted where war will break out for years, always directing the High Command so they can negotiate a price but when he predicts war will be coming to Earth High Command doesn’t want to know, and Ilyan finds himself on the run spreading the word and dodging the assassins sent after him. Jadeth is just a simple grunt and when he runs across Ilyan’s group he decides to stick with them when he realises what Ilyan says makes sense, protecting Ilyan becomes his mission and if High Command succeeds then humanity might just be in grave danger.
This is a brilliant science fiction story that has humans doing what they do best, fighting in wars. The storyline is very simple, intelligence agents predict where war will break out, High Command sends out its soldiers to fight for the side who will pay the most, but High Command has a secret which Ilyan wants to tell everyone so they will believe when he tells them war is coming to Earth. Jadeth finds himself drawn to and protective of Ilyan, both men are straight but there is an undercurrent of admiration. This story carries you across worlds as they spread the truth, avoiding assassins and the High Command and dealing with petty jealousies but betrayal is heading their way and humanity will pay the price.
I recommend this if you love science fiction, futuristic, great characters, a brilliant story and an ending that will blow you away. ...more
This story is part of a series and can be read as a standalone but is best read in order. Jess has been chosen by the alien lottery and he thinks that it won’t be all bad, after all anything would be better than the complete indifference of his parents. Things aren’t too bad but then his owner’s gambling debts get too high and Jess is sold off, and he discovers being picked by the alien lottery is the best thing that has ever happened to him. Noss was forced to take on the role of Arak when his father Prince Kranok was arrested, it is a role he dreads but to keep his family together he will put his own happiness aside. Noss has to buy a human when the scandal keeps away marriage prospects and he gets much more than he bargained for in Jess, their passion is explosive and they both find what they are looking for in the other but Noss has to decide whether he can accept what is being offered or if he will be bound by duty.
This is a great addition to this wonderful sci-fi series Owned. We briefly met Noss in Bound By Defiance as he took over responsibility for his family. Noss never wanted a traditional household but with his father gone he has to take over his role to keep his family together, but he can’t become Arak unless he gets a concubine and nobody wants him now buying a human is his only hope. When he gets Jess he has his hands full with the horny human but the bliss he finds in Jess’ arms might not be enough. Jess finds something he has never had when he is sold to Noss, he finds a family that accepts him but getting Noss to see that he can have a happy life and keep his family together is harder than he thinks.
I loved this story, both characters are wonderful and they are perfect in this story together. Jess has had a crappy life being ignored by his parents, he will take anything that life throws at him with a smile so when he is chosen for the lottery he figures it won’t be so bad. When Jess is sold onto Noss he accepts that he is a convenience but still manages to find his place in the family. Noss feels he has no choice but to become Arak but finds himself longing to submit to Jess, he also doesn’t know if he can hold out hope for what Jess offers him.
This is a great story that brings two men together who both have something that the other one needs, Noss needs Jess to show him how to let go and accept change and Jess needs Noss to show him how a family really are and the love and comfort they bring. Jess is a character that you can’t help but feel compassion for, he has been treated badly by his parents and has to find the love of a family in an alien family. Noss is trying to protect his family and you can’t help but love him, but he also fears changing their family standing.
I recommend this to those who love science fiction, human and alien smoking hot sex, accepting love and family, bucking tradition and a very happy ending. ...more
This story is part of a series and can be read as a stand-alone but is best read in order. Dalton is surprised and scared when he is chosen for the alien lottery, he has only just started to explore his Dominate side and now thinks he will never get to experiment further, until he sets eyes on the alien who now owns him. Zigog is the Supreme ruler of his planet and never has any time off, when he is gifted a human at his birthday celebration he is furious and aroused with the humans attitude. Zigog and Dalton soon find themselves losing the masks they hide behind as they succumb to their attraction, but they still have obstacles to overcome if their soul resonance is to bind fully.
This story is slightly connected to Bound by Pleasure through Hunter who was Dalton’s best friend, we saw them as they comforted each other in the hours before they were to leave their homes. Dalton now finds himself in a cage a hundred feet in the air above a celebration, Dalton digs deep to keep his fear at bay and decides he is going to seduce the beautiful gold man as soon as he gets the chance. Zigog is painted gold for his birthday celebration, when he is given the gift of a human he decides he will make the arrogant human bend to his will, but Dalton offers him something he never thought he wanted… Domination.
We are again taken to a new planet with a new culture and we see two males trying to understand each other’s cultures. Dalton has to understand the foundation of Zigog’s society and the way it works for him to really get a grasp because nothing is the same as on Earth, the music, the art and the way they make families is all different but luckily Dalton grasps it quite quickly and Zigog has patience. Zigog has a lot to learn as well as he gets to grasps with Dalton’s vocabulary, their sexual exploits and discovering he has been sheltered on purpose. Their trust builds quickly as they each share themselves with the other, but they soon learn that even though they trust each other Zigog has difficulty trusting himself.
I recommend this to those who love men finding themselves, exploring their sexual needs, Slight D/s, hot sex, building trust and discovering to have faith in ones-self, and a very happy ending when it all comes together. ...more
This story is part of a series and can be read as a stand-alone but is best read as part of the series. Alexis has been chosen for the alien lottery and is terrified, being left for pick-up he has no idea what he is about to face. Elia is Eoean and has been ordered to wed now that his mating urges have begun, his father presents him with a human as his first concubine and Elia begins the process of setting his own home up and getting to grips with his sexy, feisty human. Alexis is just coming to terms with his relationship with Elia when it is threatened and both Alexis and Elia have to decide if they are willing to fight to stay together.
Jana Downs has written an excellent addition to the Owned series, showing the side where the Eoeans keep some of the humans and their settlement on Earth. Elia is now mature enough to have mating instincts and to set up his own house as Arak, his father gifts him with a human, Alexis, as his first concubine but the feisty human may be the only concubine he ever takes. Alexis was chosen for the lottery but at least he is still on Earth, fitting into the Eoeans society isn’t going to be easy but at least Elia seems open to changing some of the rules.
I really enjoyed the way that the Jana Downs has gone down a slightly different tract than Anitra Lynn McLeod, Anitra’s portion of the series is focused on the selling of the humans onto different worlds, while Jana keeps her humans on Earth in the Eoeans settlements. The world building is good and we get more information on the Eoeans because we spend time with them, we still get that BDSM flavour threaded throughout the story (which is hot) and we come to a better understanding of the lottery. Both Alexis and Elia are great characters and boy do they set off sparks together, their relationship isn’t easy and obstacles are put in their way. It also doesn’t help that Elia’s society has certain expectations that clashes with the human society that Alexis has grown up in, but they come to a wonderful compromise before Elia’s fathers’ idiocy nearly ruins it.
I have to recommend this to those who love humans and aliens falling in love, different species merging their cultures, just a touch of BDSM, hot sex, finding your soul mate and the beginning of a very happy ending. ...more
Hunter is scared to death when he receives a letter telling him he has been chosen in the alien lottery, nobody ever knows what happens to the young men who are picked and they are never heard of again. Kian has a terminal illness and his father has bought a human in an effort to cure him, Kian doesn’t believe that anything will ever give him relief from the tormenting pain but finds that with the human, Hunter, it is much more manageable with their sexual encounters. But, Kian’s father expects a full recovery and if he doesn’t get one Hunter will be sold.
This is a great new series that has an alien race coming to the rescue of humans and getting young men as payment. Everyone male knows what a plain white envelope with their name, address and social security number on means, it means you have been chosen in the lottery by the Eoeans and that your life as you know it has ended. Hunter receives his and wonders what he is about to face, but the reality of a metal encased alien never crossed his mind. Kian has suffered for years and Hunter gives him some semblance of peace, their connection as they fall in love is getting stronger and the mythical soul bond just might be true.
This is a very original new science fiction series where the human race was rescued from a deadly disease by an alien race who want human men as payment. Hunter is a very feisty submissive who goes from fear to arousal when he first meets his owner, Kian, he finds himself attracted to the stronger alien and wants nothing more than to submit to him, but he doesn’t understand what Kian really expects from him when Kian says he has failed. Kian has been promised a human will be able to cure him and is deeply disappointed when it doesn’t happen, he is even more surprised when he learns the human, Hunter, has no clue that he was promised as a cure. It doesn’t stop the two males from getting into a D/s relationship and falling in love and when the two are ripped apart it is discovered that the soul-bond myth is the truth.
The relationship between these two males’ progresses quickly after they both put their cards on the table, they develop a beautiful D/s relationship which is juicily kinky. Hunter and Kian fall in love but they both hold back a bit until they are nearly lost to each other. This is a great light hearted story that has a great storyline and some hot kinky sex, the characters are great with each one suiting his role perfectly and they have hot kinky sex. We get a great background story on both Hunter and Kian… oh did I mention they have hot kinky sex?
I recommend this to those that love kinky science fiction, hot kinky sex, a great storyline and a very happy ending after just a touch of angst. ...more
Will/Gar has spent the last forty years exacting vengeance on the guilty for the innocents they have killed. His Purpose, Vengeance, demands it as payment for strength, youth and mental powers. Vengeance: an entity that feeds on the souls of the guilty. When Gar meets Ryan he begins to lose the cold shell he has encased himself in and Will begins to emerge, emotions and feelings he hasn’t felt in years shock him, so what is it about Ryan that has drawn Will out of his long sleep. Ryan has been cast out by his family and meets Gar, not quite sure what to make of the man, getting to know Gar and the real man behind the façade, Will, leads to Ryan discovering something about himself that he finds a hard time getting his head around. Ryan challenges Will to rethink what his Purpose wants, but when the FBI get involved Ryan might be in more danger than ever before.
This is a brilliant, unique, slightly dark, gritty story that you just can’t put down. Will was taken as a host by an entity nearly forty years ago, since then he has buried himself beneath a cold emotionless façade, Gar, to carry out the vengeance that he has been called to do. When Gar meets Ryan there is something about the young man that calls to him and Will begins to re-emerge. Ryan is confused by Will but can’t help falling for the man who saved his life, but when he discovers what his Purpose requires he asks if there is another way to give it what it wants. Things get more complicated when Will tries to discover what it is about Ryan that ease’s him, and then Will discovers he is being tracked by an overzealous FBI agent who will stop at nothing to get Will.
I have to admit to being dragged into this story from the very first page, the opening scenes grip you as it leads you straight into meeting Gar and his Purpose Vengeance. As we progress through the book we can see the changes in Gar/Will as Ryan breaks through his shell. We see Will, a man who buried his emotions to dull the pain of loss, still getting to grips with his Purpose and evolving his relationship with the entity and finally beginning to understand just what the entity needs and requires. With Ryan you see a man who still has a long way to go before he is confident and secure, but also someone who will sulk and act like a brat when he doesn’t get his own way, which causes problems for Will.
The police and FBI angle was really good and while Will is willing to bargain with Detective Griffin, he wants nothing to do with Agent Barrington, these are aspects of the story you do not want to miss. The characters bring this story alive giving us a darkish gritty story of vengeance and justice. There’s entities from other planes, the innocent demanding vengeance, justice and revenge, the guilty paying for their crimes and two men feeling an instant connection and finding more in common than they thought.
This isn’t a book to miss if you want a unique storyline, great characters, vengeance galore, confusion, love and a brilliant ending. ...more

Tavish is the Chief Medical Doctor going with them in case of injury and when Kael is bit by a dangerous creature he has to try to figure out just what is going on.
Holy cow, this is a perfect blend of sci-fi and erotica that will please both nerds and sex seekers. Sam has only had his hand for company for the last five months and he has been secretly panting after the expedition leader Kael, now he is chosen to go to the new planet’s surface along with all the muscle bound hunks. Now they have five months before they get back to Earth with a mutated Kael who has A Rampant Hunger that Sam and Tavish have to feed.
This is a brilliant sexual fix that really gets the juices flowing, the blood burning and gives your inner geek a high. Three characters who mesh perfectly together, doing what they have to, to survive *snigger*. This story has a great storyline, the Earth is dying and humans are seeking a new world, the expedition lands on a compatible world and inadvertently unleashes death. One survivor is bitten and is changing and the two others have to feed his hunger, and they love every minute of it! James Cox has done it again with his highly charged erotic writing, giving us an entertaining story while overdosing us on pure sex and giving us men who just love to fall in love.
If you are in the market for science fiction that’s got a dash of danger, a hankering for some scorching hot sex, and a yearning for three men falling in love, then this is the book you want to read....more
This story is part of a series and is best read in order. When Marco’s half-brother and half-sister, Valerius and Serafina, come to Marco with a secret he learns about a side effect of immortal men and women reproducing together, it is a secret he cannot keep as it could have consequences for his entire family. Investigating the telepathy and the telepathic cries for help leads to discovering a lost member of the family, Sergio, but Sergio has been locked up in mental institutions for most of his life and could pose a risk to the family’s security unless he can learn shield himself. Dani and Marco look into the new abilities and gene therapy with startling results, and a trip to America has both men learning even more about telepaths.
This story continues with the evolution theory of the d'Argenzio family and the new discoveries made as two long living families begin to combine. Marco is surprised when he discovers the new ability of Valerius and Serafina and the implications it causes, learning that there is someone telepathically crying out for help could be another danger and he warns his brother and sister to be very careful. Dani begins research into this new development and does a little experimenting of his own, while Marco begins the search for the person asking for help.
This is a very interesting story and it was really nice to see both Dani and Marco again and see how they are still so in love with each other. The storyline takes a twist in this book with the results of immortal men and women having children together and combining their gene’s surprising all, it also leads to the families having to be more careful with their security and thoughts. I must admit that I found the way they handled it made me uncomfortable and made me think they were playing God, playing with gene therapy and experimenting on themselves, delving into other people’s lives and making choices that other people might not want, was just wrong.
The writing style flows smoothly and is as easy going as ever, the characters are pretty good although I found the children acted and spoke as though they were a lot older. The storyline is very interesting, but I still found it creepy at times. We get to see characters from Sleuth LLC: Birds of a Feather and Love Turns the Page, adding to the story slightly. As usually there is no on page love making, but we are left in no doubt as to Marco and Dani’s active love life though.
I recommend this to those who want an interesting storyline, twists, keeping secrets, a more placid writing style and a very happy growing family. ...more
Drayton is looking for a high paying job so he can fix his old space ship, traveling to Falla to try out for an unspecified job looks promising. He is slightly surprised about what the job entails but really needs the money, so he strips off hoping to be chosen for the harem of the Falla King. He has to compete with four other species to see who will be chosen to help produce an heir, but the attraction felt between all the men might make it difficult to follow the rules.
Okay that was, wow, just let me catch my breath, damn that story was hot. Drayton needs money fast so he answers an ad, he ends up on Falla competing to be the one chosen, but getting to know the other members of the harem has him being less interested in winning the kings eye and more interested in one of his fellow competitors. This is a really hot story with multiple interesting characters, Drayton, Ranix (King), Lavender, Layden, Dusk and Ashthor, each male is unique and sexy and they all certainly burn up all the pages.
This is a perfect book if you are looking for sci-fi flavoured erotica, steamy sex scenes and a hard-on on nearly every page. Drayton finds much more than he was looking for and I have to say he is a very lucky man, this is definitely the book to read if you want to overdose on hot sex. ...more
Alyn has accepted a job with a trading company now that peace has put him out of a job, being a captain of a merchant ship will be vastly different than being a warship captain, but he is sure it won’t be too hard. Jarvez is a trader and has plans to be the best trader in the company, he just has to prove himself to his family. Alyn is assigned the Red Dragon, a star-ship that has been vastly neglected and abused by the former captain, Jarvez is the new trader for the ship but his main task is to investigate the corruption aboard the ship. When the two men first meet they are both rocked, a blissful hour the night before has come back to smack them both in the face. Their attraction is fierce but mixing business and pleasure is never a good idea and they face four months of space travel with a disgruntled crew and a traitor, and they each fight their attraction to the other.
Alyn and Jarvez are well rounded characters, they both have an idea of what they want from life, Alyn just wants to captain a star-ship and have the respect of his crew and Jarvez wants to be the best trader in the company, working his way to the best trade routes and improving his wealth. Together they have to decide what they truly want when they can no longer ignore their attraction, especially when they are on-board a star-ship whose crew are suspicious of them. When they reach the end of their journey they have new decision’s, for Alyn it’s a choice to stay with a decrepit star-ship and make her glorious again or accept a newer fancier ship, and for Jarvez it’s improve the current trading route or go for easy money with the larger, more choice, routes…. And then there’s the choice of doing it together or apart.
I really did enjoy this science fiction story because we have the relationship between Alyn and Jarvez vying with the storyline of corrupt officers and traitors, they were blended well together and I can’t say which I enjoyed more. Jarvez is a man who wants to prove himself to his family, he wants to go far in the company on his own merit so getting involved with the captain of one of the ships is a mistake he wishes never happened. It is interesting to watch Jarvez fight his consuming need to be with Alyn, he doesn’t always succeed which gives us some explosive passionate scenes. Alyn is much more able to keep his simmering need controlled but make no mistake it is just waiting to be unleashed.
I loved the investigation side of the story, both men not knowing who they can trust but trying to win the crew over anyway. Jarvez trying to discover who the third traitor is from among the officers, while Alyn tries to put the ship and its crew back together. Then, we have the prisoners who are in the background, just waiting for their shot. The writing is good and flows well, nothing happens too fast and there are one or two exciting scenes.
I recommend this to those that love science fiction, traitors, mutiny, investigations, great characters, falling in love in difficult situations, hot explosive sex and an ending that is a new beginning for our two MC’s. ...more
Mother is about to be voluntary entombed now that she has reached the age of parting, she reads from the Book of Dorian of how our world came about and the courage and bravery of one man who refused to be satisfied with his class status.
This is an interesting futuristic story, telling the story of how a new world and their customs came about. Dorian is increasingly unhappy with the way the world works, all young are born into servitude every single one of them trained to serve the Eldest in any way until, if they are lucky, they reach the age of Elders themselves. But Elders very rarely die, organs are harvested to keep them going and the Seniors and Elders believe it is their right. Dorian rebels briefly and is sent to prison to learn the errors of his ways, in prison he meets like-minded people and a kernel of an idea takes root.
I quite enjoyed this story, it starts out on Doriana and the ritual of Parting, we then flashback to Dorian’s time and it tells the story of how Dorian began his rebellion. The descriptions and the world we find ourselves in is vastly different from the world we know now, and the phrase ‘respect your elders’ hits very close to the bone. Dorian teams up with Bryn and Lasa and finds joy briefly in Bryn’s arms, sneaking about and risking prison if caught. I was fascinated with what Earth had become and how the Elders enforced their rule, it was also interesting to see how the enforced rules on Earth affected how Doriana’s rules and customs were set up. This isn’t the usual expected m/m, sexuality is fluid and we don’t get the happily ever after that you first expect, what we get is a homage to the person who set a class free and his memory lives in the people on that world, never to be forgotten and the sacrifices remembered.
I will recommend this to those who love futuristic, science fiction, rebellion against unfair rule, some hot sex, a new beginning, a touch of sadness and an interesting storyline. ...more
Taz is left miserable when he is dumped during a date on Earth, and what’s worse he is left stranded with no clothes, nowhere to stay and no way home until sexy Reed comes to his rescue. Reed is doing a last minute delivery when he finds himself with an armful of sexy man, taking pity on the young man who seems so lost and alone he takes him for coffee, which quickly leads to more, but just what is Reed to do when he discovers Taz is an alien?
Be My Alien is a cute light-hearted story that will warm you up with its sweetness. Reed has been too busy with his boutique to really have a relationship, meeting Taz when he is dropping a last minute gift off to a client pulls him into being spontaneous. Taz is sweet and naïve but far from innocent, being dumped on a date leaves him with no clue what to do next, meeting Reed has him acting without thinking and during an intimate moment reveals all of himself to Reed whose reaction scares him.
I did enjoy this story and Taz is such a cutie and Reed so charming that you can’t help but fall a little in love with them, the story is a little basic in a way, Taz and Reed meeting when Taz is left stranded, instant lust and then love following quickly… of course there’s that little bit extra of Reed discovering Taz is an alien and Taz’s original date, Vorlod, trying to throw a spanner in the works. The sex between them is wow and you have to watch out for Taz’s tail. This is a great story to read while relaxing out in the sun, or in my case stuck in the back of a car during a traffic jam on the way home from the beach ;-)
I recommend this to those who love cute aliens, charming rescuers, hot sex, a touch of selfish nasty baddie, finding love and a very happy ending. ...more
Talon can’t remember anything from before his parents disappeared, his adoptive parents have told him everything he knows about being Vermithian and he has sworn to never find his mate for the very real fear of pregnancy. On a routine delivery with his adopted sister they are thrown across the universe during a storm, crash landing on Tumaro is the least of Talon’s worry when he awakens and can’t find his sister and is confronted with his mate, Blaze. Blaze is overjoyed to finally have his mate, discovering his mate is also Vermithian is a blessing. Having their mating blessed by The One makes everyone happy, but there are a few who decide that they must go and they face a conspiracy that is centuries’ old, Blaze also has to look for Talon’s brothers and rescue them, brothers that Talon has no knowledge of.
This is a great science fiction story, weaving together an interesting view on what the human race could become. Blaze is the wolf shifter Alpha King, it was prophesied that an Alpha King would mate a Vermithian and change Tumaro forever. Talon has a target on his head, someone high up in government wants him and his family wiped out, crash landing on Tumaro leads him to the man that he is destined for, a mate he doesn’t want. Coming to terms with his new circumstances Talon embraces his mating, but still holds back a little, doubting he could fall in love so quickly.
Talon is a fantastic character, he’s fun, bossy and sweet. Blaze is a wonderful man, he’s an understanding, strong Alpha, he will do anything for his mate and his every breath is devoted to Talon. They make a fantastic couple and are very hot together. The storyline is brilliant and we meet lots of interesting characters who hopefully will get their own stories. There are a couple of different threads that come together in this story, an old conspiracy to eradicate humans, a prophecy of the Alpha King, a character being blackmailed, some complicated mating’s, and interesting background stories that look like they will be continued in future books. We are given a story filled with conspiracy, kidnapping, murder, plots and love.
I recommend this to those who love science fiction, shifters, falling in love, m-preg, a touch of kink, great characters, a brilliant storyline, lots of hints for the future and a very happy ending. ...more
