Braxton is returning to his family home to see his great grandmother with his twin daughters; he is dreading the rest of his immediate family though because of their die hard religious views. Braxton bumps into Hamilton, his high school crush, as soon as he gets into town and soon discovers he wasn’t the only one with a crush. Hamilton has waited years for Braxton and he feels the time is now right to approach the man he has always wanted but starting a relationship with disapproving parents looking on isn’t easy.
This is a cute and hot Christmas story of two men meeting after years of secret wanting. Braxton left his family behind after he came out; the only ones he keeps in touch with are his older sister, cousins and great grandmother, now his great grandmother is ill and frail and he is taking his daughters to see her for Christmas. Hamilton was told what would happen if he approach Braxton before Braxton had left home so he waited for the right time to approach him, finding out that Braxton has children doesn’t put him off in the least and with the help of Braxton’s cousin the truth spills out and now all he has to do is hope Braxton feels the same.
This is a great beginning to Braxton and Hamilton’s story and as it has a happy for now ending I am hoping that we will be visiting these characters again. Both Braxton and Hamilton are wonderful characters who have always wanted the other man, they both have lingering feelings for the other and although those feeling intensify both men know that they no longer truly know the other. I think it was brilliant that the men thought about things before jumping in with two feet. The sex between them was really hot and very descriptive; it will definitely get your pulse racing.
I will recommend this to those who love hot men, an understanding great grandmother, standing up for what you want in the face of bigots, hot sex and the beginning of something special. ...more
Jim isn’t happy when he is passed over for promotion, gets caught in a downpour while in his cat form and then gets picked up by his new boss’s son. Taken into his Andrew’s warm home and becoming confidant to both Andrew and his son Tony wasn’t Jim’s idea of a night out, but Jim begins to realise that his resentment is unfounded, and as a human begins to fall for Andrew. But they have problems to overcome; Tony is being bullied at school, prejudice at work and some slight bigotry in their own families and Jim’s little secret, can Andrew and Jim make things work?
This is a great family story with an incredible cute kid and a slight twist of a shifter cat. Jim has had a bad day at work and decides to run it off in his cat form, he ends up taking refuge from a downpour on his new boss’s porch and gets taken in as a stray. Andrew moved to Atlantic City for a better life with his son Tony, but with new work pressure, discovering that his son is being bullied and a mysterious stray cat he is struggling to cope. Striking up a relationship isn’t something that Jim is sure he wants but the more he learns about Andrew and Tony the more he wants to know, but Jim has some hard choices to make… like is he ready to be an instant daddy.
I really enjoyed this story and thought that it was well written, the storyline was good and it didn’t downplay the effects kids can have on a relationship. Jim and Andrew are great characters and we get a good feel for both of them, Tony is a delightful child that seemed very real in his behaviour and added greatly to the story, the secondary characters were good with two of them being woven into the storyline very well. The underlying bigotry was a surprise to all but the prejudice against gays was one the characters were expecting to an extent, the bullying of Tony was well handled but breaks your heart for the suffering he goes through.
The relationship between Jim and Andrew is good but I felt like it was moving too quickly especially with a child involved, I felt it should have been more developed and they had known each other longer before Jim was considered as parent material. The shifter aspect was good but we didn’t learn much about it and I would have liked more of an explanation, like an in-depth discussion with Andrew about it other than just a little shock and easy acceptance. The sex between Jim and Andrew is hot and has a slight kinky twist, which I thoroughly enjoyed!
I will recommend this to those who love easy shifter stories, interracial relationships, supporting partners, facing bigotry and prejudice, accepting love and a very happy ending. ...more
This book is part of a series and although it can be read as a standalone I would recommend reading the series in order as the first book has more world building and gives you a better idea of how the world now is. This book is also set eight months before book one and has characters that we met at the end of book one.
Deon has travelled the world in his boat; he has seen much destruction and death around the world and has kept away from most of the survivors since the virus struck, but now as he looks for supplies he stumbles upon a lynch mob about to hang a man for being gay. Chase wakes up on a boat with a hunky man who saved him from death, but the adventure is just beginning.
This is a great short erotic story that is hot and heavy and will make you sweat. Deon and Chase meet in extreme circumstances, what with Chase being at the end of a rope, but Deon isn’t about to let Chase die, after all gay men were hard to find. But Chase has lost one husband and isn’t about to give his ass to just anyone, so Deon has his hands full. With a storm heading their way and a lynch mob waiting on the beach can these two men find their version of paradise?
This is a fast paced book with a bit of action with a touch of adventure, with lots of hot steamy erotic sex, and two men who rapidly fall in love. Now Deon is like a sex starved man, and having a sexy gay man like Chase around is making him constantly horny, but he does try to give Chase a bit of time to get to know him lol. The circumstances of their meeting and their subsequent return to Chase’s hometown leads to a new beginning for both of them as they decide to build a new ‘safe’ town, which we saw briefly at the end of book one.
So in all honesty I will recommend this book to those who love post-apocalypse, futuristic, new start, extremely erotic and hot sex, sexy hot men and a happy ending with a new beginning. ...more
Ashton was disowned when he told his parents he was gay. Now, he makes his living stripping. It’s a job that pays the bills, but one night he turns around and his client is none other than J.C., the boy he once fell in love with. J.C. is celebrating his birthday with a lap dance bought for him by his best friend, but when the dancer turns around he’s startled to see Jeremy (Ashton). Jeremy who he remembers from school, but what was he doing stripping? J.C. needs to see him again and hopes he can give him an offer he can’t refuse.
This is a lovely short story of seeing past the trappings surrounding a man and to the person they really are. Ashton lost everything when he came out to his parents, only his best friend Bo stood by him and helped him navigate the real world and now J.C. has walked into his life. But, Ashton is wary of trusting him, after all the only person he knows he can trust is Bo. So does he take a chance with his heart? J.C. has been bitten in the past and he is wary of jumping in with a man again, but when he sees Jeremy (Ashton) again after all these years he throws caution to the wind and takes a chance that Ashton wants him and not his money.
Both Ashton and J.C. are wary men, but as they come together both of them seem to realize that they have found just what they need in the other man. You can understand Ashton’s cautiousness, because of how he lost not just his parents, but all his friends when he came out. only one person standing beside him and being there for him, so when J.C. comes to him it makes him wonder what J,C, really wants. J.C. is willing to take the chance that Ashton wants him, the man, and not the businessman, he knows it’s a risk, but he wants Ashton and wants to show Ashton that they would be good together.
The dynamics of the relationship is fluid, although Ashton likes to be spanked by J.C., he also takes control as well. The sex between them is very hot and at times feels desperate, as though they must have it now. Although the relationship felt a bit rushed, it seemed to suit both their personalities and worked well for them. Although they make an interracial couple, there is no real focus on that; they are just two men who want each other.
So, if you want a story of seeing beyond the surface, new beginnings, hot passionate sex and trusting your instincts, of realizing that the timing is perfect for you and no lost regrets, then this is the book for you....more
