A stranger leaves a parcel for Peyton, who then reacts badly to seeing it. Johnnie and Grim set out to get to the bottom of the mystery.
This is a great little short story for those of us who are fans of Johnnie and Grim. Johnnie and Grim come to the aid of Peyton when a parcel is delivered and a mystery begins. Peyton ends up being attacked by members of his former pack, as they look for the Alpha Candidate. and the alpha candidate has fled them for a very good reason. Hudson has a good reason for fleeing his pack and with the Dracula upholding his laws, Hudson and Peyton might just be free.
Even though this story is for Peyton and Hudson and the start of their life together after the mystery is solved, this story is actually from Johnnie’s POV and it also gives us a glimpse once more into the lives of Johnnie and Grim. I must advise reading Dance In The Dark first, as that gives you the entire background into Johnnie and Grim. This story is a wonderful catch-up on what Johnnie and Grim are doing now and shows us that they are still helping their friends solve mysteries and Johnnie’s penchant for fairy tales.
I will recommend this to those who love paranormal, mysteries/sleuthing and a great ending for all involved.
Herne has had vengeance in his heart for over fifteen hundred years, but he is losing his need to lead the Wild Hunt. when he is called to The Greenwood, he finds the Wild Hunt waiting for him to lead it, but maybe the Goddess has something else in mind for Herne when he interrupts a fairy betrothal. Tam really doesn’t want to marry any woman, but he has been chosen to capture a fairy in marriage. But, it all goes wrong and there is a race against time to find a way to break the betrothal. all the while, Tam and Herne fight their attraction to each other.
Another wonderful tale of The Greenwood. although, this one is set over two hundred years before Bound For The Forest. Herne has been alone for a long time except for when he is leading the Wild Hunt across England. But, he is tired of the vengeance. the one who wronged him is long gone and although it hurts to remember that betrayal, he can no longer find the full wrathful vengeance in his heart. Tam ends up betrothed to the wrong being inside the fairy circle and now Tam and Herne must find a way to break the betrothal before it ends in death for Tam while running from and avoiding the Wild Hunt as they try to harry Herne to lead them and they want Tam as a sacrifice.
Tam and Herne are fantastic characters. Herne wants peace and quiet, to do his duty and to be left alone. and Tam is a chatter box who is interested in all around him and can manage to get on Herne’s last nerve by being stubborn. Tam somehow manages to get through Herne’s thick shell and Herne wants to protect Tam. With the help (snort) of the fairies (you would not believe the mouths on them) and with the Wild Hunt on their tail, they discover just what the Goddess’s plans really are.
So…a story filled with world building, delightful and disgusting characters, incredible detail, more wonderful lore, passionate, primal, primitive sex with a touch of BDSM and some very happy characters with a wonderful ending, what are you waiting for get this book and let it take you on a journey....more
Oren is what is called a breather, a potential Undying and he is doing everything he can to ensure himself and his family stay that way. But, when a Vampire church has plans to convert the world, Oren, his kids, the peaceful Vampires and the Undying must put an end to their plans. But, just what will it cost Oren and his family?
This is not a romance in anybody’s imagination. The characters seem to be mostly bi-sexual and sleep around because they all have high sex-drives. The story is really well written and your feelings for the characters will go up and down as their attitude and actions make you want to hug them, smack them and pity them. There are no really detailed sex scenes, although the one sex scene that we do witness does not end how you thought it might.
There is a lot going on in this book and a lot of interaction with different characters with different POVs throughout the book. It gives us a broad spectrum of plot and gives us more understanding of what’s going on and why. It gives us insight into the different characters as well and what drives them personally. There are one or two surprise characters that shocked my socks off as I spluttered and gawked at the book. One of the characters I was so shocked at but I sat there going ‘Oh my god that is so plausible’.
There isn’t that much that I can really tell you about this one other than Oren and his children are Breathers and if they die a violent death then they come back as an Undying a being unable to die, who can regenerate everything about them (arm chopped off… not a problem regrow it, head lopped off… grow a new body.) If they die a natural death then they never come back (something to do with their DNA) and the council want the Breathers and will try anything to get them, while that is going on we have a vampire church who are set on converting everyone because they believe they are following in Christ’s footsteps i.e. they died then rose again as vampires and the Stolt’s and the Undying must stop them.
This book is not for the faint of heart, so if you hate blood, guts, dismemberment and extreme violence then don’t look at this book. If you want a happy-ever-after where people fall in love…then don’t look at this book. If you want a happy conclusion where everyone got what they wanted…then don’t look at this book. If you want a story that is filled with action, fights, blood, gore, a lot of implied sex, hate, fear, failed hopes and a gigantic violent bloodbath in a church…then this is the book for you. (It kept me happy ;-))...more
Matteo works with his grandfather, angels, demons and other humans on the side of good in the never-ending battle between the light and dark forces. Matteo is newly partnered with Vilmos and it falls to Vilmos to save Matteo. Priel and Ull also work with Matteo and while fighting a demon of dark, they finally find out how they feel about each other.
This is a well-written story that gives us a great story of good and evil, but also gives us two love stories that are both loving and erotic. Matteo was once shot by Ciaran, a powerful dark demon that has it in for everyone that works with Matteo. They have been trying to find Ciaran for a long time, but without much luck. When Matteo is partnered with Vilmos sparks fly, but Vilmos reacts badly. Ull has wanted Priel for years and he finally gives in to his need and he realizes that circumstances held Priel back, but he is now free to act on his desires.
There is quite a bit of to-ing and fro-ing between POVs, as we have Matteo’s, Vilmos’s, Ull’s and Priel’s and what is going on with each of them. Matteo’s and Vilmos’s relationship starts off rocky, but develops well and Ull’s and Priel’s finally gets started when Ull takes the initiative. We also have everyone trying to track Ciaran and to stop him from taking over the area. This is a great alternative world where humans, angels and demons mix, it has quite good world-building, but for me this story did it with the romance, love and erotic lovemaking. the descriptions between the two couples was just so well done that it made my heart ache at the obvious love that they felt for each other.
There are some great action and fight scenes. But they weren’t over the top or even too super demon or angel . they were well done and added a bit of tension in just the right places. All the characters that we get to know are nice and I would love to know more about them especially Julio (grandfather).
With this one I am going to recommend it to those who love angels and demons, fantasy, danger, action, incredible lovemaking scenes, a touch of romance and a happy ending....more
This is a first published work for this author and I am excited to say that it is really good. Dageus is haunted by sparkling blue eyes and a hard body, he is also haunted by the fact that he desires men; he tries to suppress both hauntings by ignoring them and protect his prince. Alex longs for his lost lover and is shocked and delighted when he spots Kalel in the VIP balcony but then upset when he realizes that Kalel can remember nothing of the past.
This is a brilliant storyline and plot, the writing is smooth and flows well and the characters are incredible. We get to know all of them well and there is some great world-building between the demon realm and Earth. This is a story that makes you love and hate these characters because as you are drawn into the story, you are conflicted on how to feel about the supporting characters. You are pulled back and forth between loving them, because they are great, and hating them because of what they do to Dageus. These are the characters that you know that there will be future books about (I can’t wait).
You feel sorry for Dageus/Kalel as the past is revealed and his story unfolds, the emotions between him and Alex are incredible and as they get everything sorted out you root for them. The sex between them is wow! Believe me it’s really hot and sensual and definitely passionate and they are soooo romantic when they first meet up after six years apart.
So I recommend this to those who love danger, vampires, demons, hot passionate sex, a great story and a happy ever after that touches you....more
Allasandro is doing a favor for his fellow Ravyn Dageus (Kal) when he meets a man who pushes all his buttons. Unfortunately, he also happens to be Dageus’s vampire dad. Damian becomes intrigued by the Ravyn Allasandro and it isn’t long before the sparks and clothes are flying, it’s just a shame that Dageus is against it happening.
This is a great story-line where Ally-Cat finally finds someone who he wants to spend more than just a night with. Ally has been attracted to men in the past but never acted on it; he loves to be the centre of attention and has an out-going personality. Damian is controlling and seems dour, he no longer sings, always having his head buried in spread-sheets, he put his love life on hold when he adopted Dageus and now Dageus wants to find him a boyfriend. What we get from the first with these two men (Damian & Ally) is passionate, intense and kinky, they hit it off great but then a couple of spanners are thrown in.
I must admit I thought that after everything that had happened that Damian’s reaction was quite rational while being un-rational. Ally’s reaction was to be expected as he didn’t want to hurt his best friend or team and then he felt betrayed. Dageus can be a right spoiled brat including throwing royal temper tantrums that really made me wonder if he was really a Ravyn or a Diva in disguise. A well written plot that has left a little something for us to dwell on which hopefully we find out more about in the next installment of Ravyn’s Warriors.
So, if you want conflict, emotional conflict, hot sex, slightly kinky hot sex, tantrums, hints of secrets and a bit of danger thrown in, then I really don’t know what you are waiting for; because this has it all so, go read it and enjoy....more
So, we are up to the third book in the series and I ask myself, can Jana Downs continue in the vein in which she started? (Can she keep giving us the good stuff?) And after reading this I have to say…yes, she can!
Salvatore is panting over the little bartender from ‘Daylight’, but is getting absolutely nowhere when he is confronted by one of his consorts. He finally admits that his feelings run deeper than he thought and on her advice he decides to finally ask his little bartender out. If he is really lucky, then he might even learn his name. Destin (not really his name) has been hurt in the past so just brushes off Salvatore’s flirting as he can never get serious about him. But then the worst happens and he has no choice but to save Salvatore’s life. This only makes things even harder for him as Salvatore goes through a vital change.
This is definitely different from the previous books and has an interesting twist. We don’t see much of the Ravyns but what we do see of them is good. There is one scene where they are all devastated and we see how each of them reacts and it is a really well-written scene. There is also one scene that will have you gasping in shock, as we learn that there is a spy in the house. In this one, Salvatore knows what he wants but Destin refuses to give in. even when it causes him emotional pain. It is an uphill battle for Salvatore to gain Destin’s trust.
There is a lot of sex with different partners (seriously, it is integral to the story-line). But when Destin gives in just once then Salvatore refuses to sleep with anyone else and it is a close call as to who has the stronger will. I thoroughly enjoyed this one as it was well-written. We find out more about Salvatore’s past, we have lots of hot steamy sex, there’s a close call with death (twice!!), Salvatore has a lot to cope with, Destin has to learn to trust his heart and we have a great happy-ever-after and a fantastic new addition to the plot and story-line.
If you like anything from above, then you will love this book. I will admit that I love how Jana Downs can keep all the Ravyns together without any of them overpowering the book except for the two main characters. And the way that the Ravyns bonds come through as strong as ever, so I am highly recommending this one to all of you....more
Dark has just won the Alpha challenge when he comes across his mate Kai. Kai is not all that happy to have found his mate, especially as he lives in New York and the wolf lives in Texas. But, just as Kai and Dark work things out they find they have another mate, Harry, who is being treated badly in Dark’s BDSM club. Can the three paranormals work things out or will their enemy win?
This is a story that I had high hopes for because the beginning was well written and a lot was explained about this author’s paranormals. But, then it seemed to fall apart not long after Dark and Kai first met. Dark is the new alpha, but he is a submissive and he gets really upset when Kai seems to reject him. So upset, in fact, that he tries to kill himself. Kai suddenly realizes that he doesn’t want to lose his mate and voila they are all lovey dovey. They then rescue Harry from an abusive Master and he fits nicely into a lovey dovey sandwich. Then, suddenly they are threatened by an unknown source for unknown reasons.
In the blurb it says that ‘Dark faces the fact he will never enjoy the feel of a whip or a flogger on his ass again.’ Urm, well unless this book isn’t to this blurb then that is total rubbish, as Dark couldn’t care less who knows that he bottoms and likes a flogging. What does seem to emerge is his past with another Master and how that Master disappeared never to be heard of again, leaving him feeling abandoned. Harry has his own problems to get through including the loss of his powers. Kai is the only one that seems to have no problems other than pressure from the council to do what they want.
There are several very good bits in this book and to be honest this feels more like a novel cut down to be a novella; there are lots of details and information for such a short book and there is a lot going on in the way of plot. It also seems to be quite choppy, switching back and forth between characters. The sex is very hot, the BDSM is well detailed and the characters are quite good (although Dark needs to learn not to cry at the drop of the hat).
I believe that this is this author’s first published m/m and I have to say the potential is there; it just needs to be smoothed out more. So, all in all, I will recommend this to those who love shifters, demons, vampires, hot sex, angst and a pretty good story-line. I’d also recommend this to those who are fans of Lynn Hagen, Joyee Flynn, Gale Stanley and Stormy Glenn....more
I found this book intriguing and look forward toward the rest of the series. Brody is a wolf shifter and is out scouting when he comes across a bunch of Rams scaring a Lamb. He confronts the Rams and they run off he then turns to the Lamb and discovers his mate. Carson was just trying to go home when he is accosted by his older half-brother and some of his friends, it’s really not going well when a Wolf chases his attackers off, and he’s then taken by the Wolf.
Okay, I enjoyed this book but I must say that I felt quite queasy at one point until I got into the right mind-set, (really? queasy? You ask.) Yes. because these shifters are more in tune with their animals even in human form and entrenched in tradition that you have a human wolf standing there saying “Perhaps you’re right. I’m sure the pack would love a lamb dinner tomorrow.” While he’s looking a human lamb over? Really? all I could think was ‘cannibal’. So, in the right frame of mind this is more about animal instinct and tradition; although, because of the mating scent and bond, Brody doesn’t feel the urge to eat Carson or to give up his mate just because he’s a Lamb.
Now the story-line for this one is really good because at the end of the day they really haven’t got a choice, they either do what Brody’s dad wants or Carson dies, yeah so you can see their problem. So in this story you have love, danger, angst, heartbreak, anger and resentment with very little hope to hold on to. They endure as much as they can before Brody finally snaps, they are then given a challenge if Carson survives then they can live as mates but oh boy what a challenge.
So, if you want a shifter story with a slightly different flavor; with all the things you usually love then why haven’t you already bought this, go on it is a great read and this book is going into my ‘to be read again’ file....more
Well, it’s about time, Ms Glenn. I thought you’d never let us have this one; it has, after all, been over a year. Ok, so maybe I like Ms Glenn’s work a little bit….ok fine… a lot, but that does not mean that I will not be brutally honest. I will be.
Nick was dragged down to Jinnistan when his friend and work partner, Gabe, is taken there for safety. Having his life turned upside down wouldn’t be too bad if only the demon he has the hots for would notice him. Storym is ignoring Nick as hard as he can because he knows that Nick will be in danger because of him if he caves in. After a night of passion (really hot, sexy, gonna melt your eyeballs passion) Storym flees leaving Nick feeling betrayed, so Nick leaves for the surface.
This is a great fun read; the interaction between the characters is great (I loved the fire-ball and whirl-wind play-fight between Gabe and Nick). The dangers are realistic to the setting and Nick isn’t a walk over (Storym has to earn his trust back). Nick and Storym worked well as a couple but they also worked well as a team along with Gabe and Themper to solve the problems in the palace. Ms Glenn even starts this book exactly where the first one finished, so it jogs your memory.
So my totally honest opinion is this… go out buy the book, it’s great. You have got to read it even if it’s just for the sex because you would never believe what Storym does with those mini whirl-winds!!! And if you don’t believe that I am being brutally honest then read the book and get back to me. *sly smirk*...more
Luca finally meets his anamchara, Rowan, and he plans on keeping him from the start. When he discovers that Rowan is a wolf he has a few doubts, but Rowan grows on him. Rowan is out clubbing with his brother when he meets Luca. He isn’t sure about Luca at all, especially the way that Luca keeps trying to tell him what to do. Will Rowan bow to Luca’s will? Or will Luca cave to Rowan’s personality?
Oh My God, this was so funny. I haven’t laughed so much at a book in ages. it was brilliant and really brightened up my day. Luca is a vampire to be reckoned with and when he meets his anamchara (his mate), he expects him to behave in a certain way. What he gets in Rowan is so far from what he dreamed about, but he wouldn’t change him for the world. Rowan doesn’t know what to expect from Luca or what is really expected from him, but he will only bend so far. Luca will soon find out that Rowan isn’t going to be a push over.
This is a lovely, charming and funny as hell story. I would love to tell you why but I won’t ruin it for you. Rowan and Luca are brilliant characters who are both well written and their personalities shine through. The relationship between them is a bit rocky at first, but becomes solid quickly. the sex is smoking hot between them. The story is quite good and is quite light-hearted and although there is a bit of danger, there are plenty of funny bits.
This one I will recommend to those who love shifters, vampires, hot sex, a great story, lots of laughs, great characters and a happy ending....more
Jay has been a bit jealous of his friends all meeting their mates and longs for his own. When he is called to his Alpha’s house in the middle of the night he smells the most delicious scent he has ever inhaled and discovers his mate seated with his Alpha. Danny was chased from his old pack for being gay and now he has finally found the pack who accepts gays. He also discovers his mate and learns that he has a connection to the Alpha that he never knew about.
This story has an interesting twist that adds greatly to the storyline for this little novella. Danny has run for his life now after days of hiding out and travelling he has come to the door of the Alpha who might accept him into his pack. He discovers his mate, fights his internal demons, finds out a secret, and proves to his mate that he is an equal. Jay discovers his mate within his Alpha’s home and is over-joyed. It isn’t easy sailing as Danny proves to Jay that he can be just as dominate as he is. Jay also has to come up with a plan to keep his mate safe, and to accept he doesn’t have to be top dog all the time.
Danny and Jay’s relationship is really good. As we see Danny struggle with what he has been taught all his life, he feels cautious towards Jay, until he gets jealous and teaches Jay a lesson he will never forget. Jay is instantly protective of Danny, with good reason, and is really happy when all the connections between the friends are known (all the couples being related in some way). The relationship between Danny and Jay is a relatively smooth one, without too much angst or danger, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few surprises because there are. I loved the way that the sex was dealt with between them because it turned out to be very give and take, with both of them being able to be both Dominate and submissive, so it leads to some very hot sex scenes between them.
With this one I will recommend it to those who love paranormal, hot sex, D/s, slight BDSM, danger, secrets being discovered, great characters and a happy ever after....more
Jeremy has struggled through the last 9 months, being near his mate but refusing to claim him as Jeremy isn’t gay. But, now the time has come that he can deny it no longer. Sam has fancied his straight boss since he started working at the Tattoo parlor, he knows that he isn’t the most outgoing of employees; he stutters, is shy and for some reason fights keep breaking out around him.
This story was originally offered as a 13 page freebie at the m/m Goodreads group, so this is the expanded version for those who may have read the original. So, Sam has wanted Jeremy since he started working for him, but now after being the reason for another fight he thinks Jeremy has had enough, until he finds out the truth. Jeremy has tried to keep his distance from Sam but, it’s causing problems. Jeremy now has to face the fact that he must claim his mate and also explain to his mate just what they are.
I quite liked this novella, it was cute, sweet and slightly funny in places and it is a good shifter romance. Now it wasn’t instant mates because, one, Sam doesn’t know he is a shifter, even though he does have a strong attraction to Jeremy, and two, Jeremy is straight and fights his attraction to Sam until he can no longer put it off. Even though it seems as though Jeremy really doesn’t want a male mate, it doesn’t mean that he hadn’t made arrangements for the inevitable. Both characters are interesting and mesh well together and the reactions of both of them are good. There are some really good scenes between the MCs as well and I really enjoyed the fact that Jeremy wasn’t an Alpha; he’s just a normal member of the pride. There’s no angst, danger or drama, this is just a nice relaxing shifter story.
So if you like shifters, hot sex, uncomplicated stories and a happy ever after then I recommend you give this story a read....more
Sean is basically living on the streets with his girlfriend and any money they get usually goes towards drugs, food and a bed for the night… in that order. But, then his girl goes off with a sugar daddy and Sean ends up turning tricks for some cash when he loses his belongings. Just when he is beginning to get desperate, Ángel turns up and makes him an offer.
I found this one to be a bit smoky/misty around the edges. As though, you can tell right from the start that this story is going to be different and will have a quality about it that is slightly mystical. Sean comes across as only seeming to do certain things to keep his girl happy. When he meets Ángel, he is given options to maybe turn his life around. But, Sean seems to be on a destruction course, but finally he begins to recognize the signs of his impending doom.
I have to say that I found one or two aspects of this book to be disturbing. Like how Sean was drugged and then he can’t remember anything the next day and then later his girl finds flecks of wax on him… yeah strange. Ángel does pop up a few times seeming to steer Sean, or rather trying to steer Sean in the right direction, but it takes Sean facing his mortality before he takes the first steps.
This isn’t a romance, although there is some m/m aspects in it and some m/m foreplay, there is no sex. This story is actually a prologue for another story for Sean. So, we just get the bit where events change is life and he decides to get clean and do something with his life and obviously it has to do with Ángel and his mystical qualities.
So, I would recommend this to those who like horror, urban fantasy, mystical, the breaking point in a young man’s life and the promise of more in the future....more
Frost is a strong demon warrior (Guardian). He is more powerful than anyone knows, but it is a power that he has to keep hidden to protect his family. Now, he meets his mates; the ones that he was told he would never have, and a foreseeing that foretold a new future comes to light. Blair and Cian are rescued by a demon and they know that the demon is theirs. Now, in the midst of their mating heat, they have to help Frost become what he needs to be in order to overcome the corrupt council.
Oh, oh, oh great, great, great new fantasy/paranormal series and I want the second book already!! Frost has been through hell to protect his family and he has had to keep things hidden from them to keep them safe. When he discovers his mates he is overwhelmed, as he lost his own twin many years before and had been told that both brothers were needed to bond with their mate. Blair and Cain have mainly been ignored for all of their lives, when they are kidnapped they are rescued by a group of demons and the demon leader is their mate which they are pleased about, but both shifters have their own insecurity so it isn’t plain sailing and with the added pressure of the council, it proves to be an intense time.
What can I really say about this book except BRILLIANT! I thought it was great, there are secrets, mystery, mayhem, deceptions, arguments, laughs and giggles. A really well woven fantasy/paranormal that will interest you right from the start. S.A. Welsh opens the story with Frost and his brothers as they do what brothers do best… annoy the hell out of each other with teasing and arguing. We get a very good feel for Frost from the start, and we get good doses of background throughout the book so we can see the type of characters he is. When we meet Cain and Blair, it is a trying situation, because while these two are cute shifters someone is determined to keep them from Frost.
Okay, so this is the part where I have a little (a very, very small one) whine *sigh*, while I thoroughly enjoyed this book some of it dragged for me because I was really impatient to get to the action (which was incredible). So, while Frost, Cain and Blair bonded and mated and sorted out some insecurities, I was chomping at the bit for the action. The bonding etc. was really good, because we saw a lot of each person’s characteristics and they became closer because of the time spent together and reassuring each other. It showed that not all bondings with twins involved were happy as a lark straight away and it needed a bit of work. so, that was all good and the sex was incredible and plentiful and hot.
We see quite a bit of all the brothers in this story and we actually see the beginning of Storm, Leo’s (Frost’s brothers) and Morgan’s story (which is bound to be great). All the characters are well written and you get a good amount of background on them and there was a fair amount of world building, the action was well cool and I so want Frost’s powers.
With this one I will recommend it to those who love demons, shifters, awkward beginnings, passionate love, hidden secrets, fantasy and a happy ending but with complications....more
Daimon feels the need to go to the rescue when he feels a wave of despair. What he finds is a young man drugged and locked in a guarded room. When the young man is awake, Daimon gets the full story and decides to help the young man and his mate reunite. But, Daimon tries to deny to himself that the young man’s captor is his own mate.
This is a wonderful novella that will touch your heart with its sweetness, but send your pulse pounding with its erotic-ness. Daimon is a demon of desire, of carnality. But, when he comes across Leland and learns the story of separated lovers, he sets aside his licentious intentions and vows to reunite the lovers. Gene is Leland’s jailor, but his intentions are good. He has been asked by Leland’s father to keep Leland away from Randal (Leland’s mate). He ends up drugging Leland to stop him from hurting himself, but then Leland disappears. Leland only wants his mate and is devastated at the lengths his father has gone to.
This is actually a story of two sets of lovers Daimon and Gene, and Leland and Randal; two mates meeting and two mates being reunited. Daimon is such a sweetheart in the way he was with Leland and the way he supported Leland in his need for his mate. Even putting aside his mating with Gene until Leland was back in the arms of the man he loves. Leland just wants to be back with his mate and although he is missing his mate, he is still a sweet young man. Gene is a nice guy who is just trying to do the best, but his means of doing it is all wrong.
The sex between these two couples really is hot, but it is also erotic and loving. Daimon and Gene’s coming together is passionate, while Leland and Randal’s is loving and hot. We mainly get to know Daimon and Leland, while Gene we see less of, but he’s important to Daimon, and Randal there are only a couple of scenes with him in them.
So I recommend this for those who love Demons and shifters, a sweet couple reuniting, passionate, hot, erotic sex and love and a happy ending for all....more
Merrick is slightly bored with the same old same old. After all, there is only so much a vamp can do in five hundred years. But, that all changes when he spots Frankie on the dance floor of his club and he has a feeling that he will be forever kept on his toes. Frankie is just letting loose on the dance floor when he spots the most gorgeous man ever, but after coming out of a relationship where his ex-boyfriend hit him, he is cautious.
Toni Griffin has written a nice easy read that is uncomplicated and low on angst. Merrick is thrilled when he meets his mate and his mate isn’t a walkover. Frankie stands up to him and doesn’t let him get away with anything… now if only he can get him to agree to be his mate. Frankie has had enough of loser boyfriends and isn’t sure if he can trust himself to choose a decent man. So, when the Master vampire declares he’s his mate, he is very wary of jumping in feet first.
Frankie is quite a strong-willed man and knows how to take care of himself; he is determined to take his time getting to know Merrick before committing to a mating that will last for eternity. This I found to be brilliantly done, because although they both felt sparks flying between them, they both still held off until Frankie was really ready. The problem of the ex-boyfriend was handled well, but I would have liked to know more about the rogue vampires. Both characters were well suited and I would have liked to get to know them better; some more background on them, but I liked them all the same. I found this storyline flowed well and the story easy to read and get into.
I will recommend this to those who like strong characters, hot sex, vampires and paranormals, a bit of conflict, instant attraction and a happy ending....more
Jude is in desperate need of help, as more and more demons are sent after him. But, there is only so much he can accept, because of the fear of hurting someone by accident. Nico is surprised to learn that his mate is human. What on Earth could fate have been thinking? But, as he gets to know his mate, he learns that Jude’s life is in grave danger and that there is far more to Jude than he first realised.
This is the second book in the Elements of Love series and must be read in order, as events in Adel’s Purr lead to discoveries in this book. Jude, Jesuit Inquisitor, is running for his life. He suspects a certain faction within the church is responsible, but getting the proof has been difficult. But, that isn’t his only problem, he feels like something is trying to consume him from the inside and it has something to do with his ability to suddenly create fire. Nico is seeking to protect a little gargoyle when he comes across his mate nearly unconscious and severely injured. Now, he has to help his mate delve into the underbelly of the church and help his mate control his fire.
This is a fantastic addition to the Elements of Love series and it continues with Jude’s story. As we saw at the end of the last book, Jude can now manifest fire, but the how and why is discovered in this story. Jude is drawn to his rescuer, but is terrified of hurting him. Nico tries to reassure Jude that he won’t, but he also worries that he will injury Jude. So it is an interesting beginning for our two lovely MCs, as they both come to realize that they are perfect for each other. We find out more about the Elementals and the history behind them, along with a slew of new characters, who add a broader horizon for future books.
So with the relationship between Jude and Nico, they might be a well matched pair, but that doesn’t mean that it is going to be easy for them. Both these characters are great, with Nico trying to show Jude that he will always be there for him, and Jude putting his trust in Nico although he is scared of losing him. With everything going on we mustn’t forget that they have the church to contend with and, gah, they are really nasty.
Well, what can I say? If you love paranormal, danger, rescues, gargoyles, hidden agendas, conspiracy, hot sex (lol), really hot men, and a happy ever after and an open end for the next book, then this is for you....more
Kris is about to get the shock of his life. A simple routine blood test changes his life forever, when he is matched as a mate to a werewolf. Now he has choices to make that don’t just include what he should do after college. Rafe has waited two hundred years for his mate and although he is desperate to meet his mate, he can wait another couple of weeks, while his mate gets used to the idea.
I found this to be quite a refreshing story. The whole idea of a world where every human is aware of all paranormal and mythical creatures, and together have come up with a registry where humans and paranormals can be matched is good. But, what is even better is that not all the people who are matched wanted to be matched. Kris is one of those people. He has plans for the future and if he accepts the mating, then he will have to give up his dreams. Rafe just wants a chance to meet his mate and show him his life won’t be over if he accepts the mating, but things happen during Kris’s visit that make Rafe think that Kris would be safer on his own.
A very good story that interested me from the start. When Kris and Rafe meet there is a strong sexual attraction which scares Kris. He is terrified that he will become a slave to his sexual needs and resents the power that Rafe could have over him. Rafe has a strong need to protect Kris and to love him, but it’s hard to fight someone’s fears. Kris is really resentful of being mated, of having his choices ripped away from him and is terrified of what he has heard of the mating instinct and it takes him a while to come around. Rafe is such a sweetheart that you feel sorry for him at the way that Kris keeps reacting.
I will recommend this to those who love the paranormal, shifters, hot sex, confused men, an unexpected attack, some hot sex and a happy ever after. ...more
Eroc is an Incubus who has been given the task of getting Dante to enter into a contract for his soul. Unfortunately, Eroc isn’t quite as impervious to the humans’ charms as he thought. Dante inadvertently enters the contract, but he decides to make the best of it as there is no way out.
This is quite a fast-moving novella with a good twist and a very happy ending. Eroc has to get Dante to enter a contract for his soul, but he also has to ensure he does it right after his last mistake. Dante is in a band who wants to hit it big, when he comes across someone in his dressing room he mistakes them for a groupie, to his instant regret. Now Eroc and Dante come to a truce, but Eroc has to go to further lengths to ensure his feelings don’t engage and Dante wants nothing more than for Eroc to let his emotions go.
I really enjoyed this cute novella of an Incubus who needs to gather souls for their King. But, his emotions start to become involved and he has to try to stop them from becoming further entangled. We also has a human who inadvertently agrees to that contract, because he isn’t thinking with his big head *wink wink*. But, what we also have is two men coming together and making beautiful music together (what! They do, it’s a good song), as well as some spectacular sex.
The progression of the story is really quick, over the course of just a couple of days. But, there is a reason as to why it happens so quickly (I’m just not gonna tell you *g*). You get a good feeling for both Dante and Eroc, as we share head space with both of them, and they do make a great couple. They are really hot together in the sack, and we see a little power play (kink, D/s) but it isn’t too heavy and it works really well for them. We also have a little twist at the end when we meet the Incubus King (who sounds interesting).
So if you love Incubi, musicians, slightly D/s sex, hot sex, loopholes, invalidating contracts and happy ever afters, then this is the book for you....more
Mihael is the angel of loyalty, but what happens when loyalty means breaking the law? Mihael is given a trial to see where his loyalties will lie. Francis is struggling to work two jobs and support his sister and her twins, when a mystery man, who can’t remember much, crosses his path he lends a helping hand.
Another great Celestial Justice installment. This time we have Mihael, the angel of loyalty, who has to learn the art of compassion and tempering loyalty, so you don’t compromise your moral compass. Mihael is completely clueless when he is dropped in a conference room in Santa Fe. Especially since he had been told that he would be in Wyoming. Francis is running night classes teaching Spanish, when a stranger who seems to have amnesia signs up for his class, he is surprised when he is asked out on a date.
I enjoyed watching as Mihael realized that there are different types of loyalties now. As he began to understand that in this day and age loyalties could be conflicted and it is about standing up for the loyalties you believe in and not loyalties that are forced or expected. Francis is a wonderful gentle man who encourages people to stand up for themselves, to believe in themselves and not to take abuse off other people. When Mihael walks into his life, he is extremely happy to meet him and although he is slightly cautious, they make a great couple. There isn’t much that I can say for the storyline, as, if you have read the other books in this series (which you should have *scowl*) then you already know that God is trying to bring the angels to work closer to humans and bring a bit of flexibility to the rules (all without tipping middle management off too soon).
I have to recommend this to those who love angels, compassionate men, revelations, hot sex, sweet loving and a happy ending....more
Anderson has the hots for Morgan, who owns a store that he runs past every day… okay twice a day, but he hasn’t the courage to go in and talk to the man. Until the day that Gandalf decides to nudge them along. Morgan has noticed his *jogger stalker* and now finally has the chance to meet him, he is fascinated by the younger man.
Okay, so I was a bit thrown and concerned at first with the way this progressed, until I found out the ages of the main characters. That put everything before in a much better light and didn’t make me feel like I was reading about a dirty old man who was perving on a school kid. Sorry had to get that out first. This is a well written story that touches on bullying in schools. Anderson comes across as older than he is because of how he pushes himself and also because he is his mother’s caregiver, as well.
Morgan and Anderson make a sweet couple; both of them get to know the other and decide to take it slow. The descriptions in this book are wonderful. The part where Anderson is making a meal for Morgan had my mouth-watering… hmmm brownies. The ghost aspect came on suddenly and caused Anderson to act out of character although the ending was touching as two souls are reunited after many years apart and the hint that there would be heartache for Anderson in the near future.
The interaction between all the characters was really good… even that with the bullies. Anderson’s mom and Morgan’s sister added to the development of both the MCs and we saw a more relaxed and playful side to both of them.
I will recommend this to those who want a great story-line, a gentle relationship, some hot making out, a haunted jacket and a happy for now ending that has two more stories to come....more
