The protagonist is Alexia Tarabotti, a young woman who discovers she is "soulless," a super-natural being who negates the powers of other super-naturals when she touches them.
In this particular book, Alexia is the focus of a shocking scandal and flees London for Italy with a small band of friends & protectors. Her goal is to seek out answers about her own nature - that of other Soulless ones. But danger befalls her everywhere she turns as the vampires are after her and in Italy, super-naturals are put to death upon their discovery.
I love this series and this book was just as good as the first two. Though, thank goodness, it doesn't end on as much of a cliff-hanger as the second one did! I'll definitely be reading this series through it's end!
Speaking of which, there are a total of five books in this series: #1 Soulless, #2 Changeless, #3 Blameless, #4 Heartless (out July 2011), #5 Timeless (release date unknown). This author is also writing a four-book YA series set in this world, but approx 25 years earlier. It is currently known as "The Finishing School" series and the first book is due out sometime in 2012....more

Forget about the typical vampires, werewolves, etc and immerse yourself in a world where Mother Nature is more violent than anything you could possibly imagine and the only thing keeping her from destroying all of us is The Wardens, a group of people with a paranormal talent for controlling weather, earth, & fire.
More particularly, the series is about Joanne Baldwin, a Weather Warden and her "adventures". This book in particular has Jo up against a mysterious, nameless baddie that is trying to splinter the Wardens. The plot is fast and intense, with just enough mix of romance/sex, humor, and fun chick-lit fashion references.
The series is unlike anything else out there. But be forewarned that the author likes cliff-hangers. :-) This is a series I'll definitely be reading through the end....more
