She begrudgingly admits to herself that she is a bit lonely, but perusing the personals is more entertainment factor than serious searching. However, she stops short on an ad picturing a handsome man looking for "kissing only on Wednesday afternoons". Is he serious? And if so...how intriguing and weird?!.
I will meet you on Wednesdays at noon in Celebration Park. Kissing only. I won’t touch you below the shoulders. You can touch me anywhere. No dating, no hookups. I will meet with you for as long as you meet me, so if you miss a Wednesday we part as strangers. No picture necessary, we can settle details via IM. Reply back with “Wednesdays Only” in the subject line.
Carrie surprisingly finds herself responding to the stranger and providing her IM handle so she can determine if he's being honest in his intentions. He responds shortly and they share a brief but telling conversation via chat that makes her decide to take a chance on Brian and see what his Wednesday idea is really all about.
Carrie is all nerves as she approaches Brian in Celebration Park where he'd asked her to meet him at noon the following Wednesday. But from the first moment she sees him, she is smitten. He arrives on a bicycle although he's dressed like a businessman in a suit. He's tall and lanky but she can tell he's very fit and very strong.
"I turn to him, putting my umbrella on the table, arranging the pleats in my skirt over my knees, the hem of my sweater over my hips, fussing as though I'm settling into a church pew with my mother instead of a park bench with a superhot stranger who shortly will introduce his tongue into my mouth. Probably."
Electricity buzzes between them as soon as they make introductions and before she realizes what's happening, they are sharing one of the most incredible kisses she's ever had in her life. Brian admits he feels the same connection and suddenly the hour they had set aside to meet and kiss flies by.
"I have never had a first kiss like this. Is it that he's a stranger? So beautiful? If so, I am ruined for anything but beautiful strangers for the rest of my life."
Carrie doesn't want to wait another week to share time with Brian again, but he's adamant that this hour each week is his escape and the only thing he can commit to at this point. She decides to finally tell her best friends and coworkers, Justin and Shelley, about her meeting with the mysterious guy. They are thrilled that she's getting out there again even though Shelley doesn't want her to set herself up to get hurt. Justin tells Carrie, Brian is "A Story Guy"
A story guy?” “Yeah, a good guy with a bad story doing something stupid.” “Explain to me why a story guy is better than a pervert.” “Story guys are like life highlighters. Your life is all these big blocks of gray text, and then a story guy comes in with a big ol’ paragraph of neon pink so that when you flip back through your life, you can stop and remember all the important and interesting places.”
Carrie can't stop herself from trying to figure out what it is that Brian is hiding and what is causing the sorrow she sees in him. He simply tells her that his life is complicated, but as they spend more time talking (and kissing), he begins to let Carrie see bits and pieces of his life. She starts to understand why he can't commit to more than a few stolen moments at a time with her, and her compassion and respect for him grows in leaps and bounds. Brian admits that he would give anything for his life to be different so he could pursue Carrie and treat her the way she deserves, with time, respect and the utmost care.
They finally reach what Carrie feels is the point of no return in their relationship only to have Brian pull away from her. She is devastated but knows, given his situation, maybe a happily ever after may not be in their future. She tries one last time to reach out to him and offer whatever he needs from her, whether that is her time, lips, love or safety. The only question is: will Brian accept her gift to him?
I absolutely fell in love with Carrie and Brian's story and cannot say enough wonderful things about it!
Mary Ann Rivers wrote this from Carrie's point of view, meaning that you get to understand her charm, snarky wit and ability to love completely while she's searching for the answer to Brian's mysterious life. I seriously admired Brian's strength and empathized completely with his situation, having been through something similar over the past ten years myself. These two characters truly deserve a lasting love and to have someone in their lives to share both the good and bad times. I'll admit I really loved the nerd humor Mary Ann used throughout the story as well, keeping a thread of lightheartedness in between the emotional intensity.
"Didn't I tell you? My favorite stories have crying at the end" The Story Guy is just precious! It's been a while since a debut book that made this big an impression. This book will definitely engage all your emotions, just be prepared to shed a few tears and give a few happy sighs...I highly, highly recommend this captivating novella.

Sydney Reed and SheikMarriage Behind the Façade by Lynn Raye Harris is an intensely passionate re-union story about a couple on the brink of divorce.
Sydney Reed and Sheikh Malik of Jahfar had a world wind romance leading to a hasty marriage. But no sooner were they married the doubts set in. When Sydney overhears Malik’s coversation with his brother regretting their hasty marriage it’s the final straw and she leaves him to return to California and her family.
Having not heard from Malik in a year, Sydney decides its time to move on with her life and files for divorce.
When Sydney left, Malik’s pride got in the way of following her home, but when he learns that Sydney plans to divorce him he decides its time to take action and comes up with an ingenious plan.
Malik shows up in California telling Sydney that she must live with him in Jahfar for 40 days per Jahfari customs before their divorce can be finalized.
Once Sydney is in Jahfar Malik introduces her to the Jahfari way of life, the time they spend in the desert begins to heal old wounds and rekindle new passions. But Malik is a man of action…and Sydney is a woman of words and that right there is the crux of their relationship problem.
“Dramatic? I said I love you and that’s dramatic?” Her eyes stung with emotion. With pain. He wanted to marginalize her feelings for him and she hated it. He jerked his trousers closed. “Do you want me to say I love you, Sydney?” His eyes flashed, his chest heaving as he stared at her. “Would that make you happy?” He leaned forward and caught her chin, forced her to look at him. “I love you,” he said, though it came out as a growl. “Is that what you want to hear?” She pushed his hand away and huddled near the door as the sand pelted the SUV. “No,” she said to the glass. “Because you don’t mean it.” His laugh was hollow. “And you said the words were important.”
If they are to get their HEA both Malik and Sydney will have to change and accept each other for the person they are...
I really loved this story, it made realize that sometimes actions do speak louder that words…we place so much emphasis on words that we tend to overlook the finer things in life.
I loved the characters in this book, they were beautifully penned. Marriage Behind the Façade is a beautiful desert romance; passionate and emotionally charged. If you love a great re-union story this is a must read.
I LOVED this book, Suddenly You deals with complex relationships and yet it is beautiful in it’s simplicity!
Pippa is left holding the baby literally and figuratively when the father her ex boyfriend Steve walked away without a single thought or remorse for the well being of her or their little daughter. Steve refuses to pay child support and Pippa is struggling financially to keep a roof over their heads.
When Pippa's car breaks down and she is stranded in the middle of the road, help comes in the form of her Ex’s best friend Harry Porter, Pippa can’t get away fast enough. She doesn’t want Harry's help or to be beholden to him for anything but unfortunately her current circumstances and a series of bad luck leaves her no choice in the matter.
Once Harry decides to help Pippa he constantly struggles to balance his loyalties between Pippa and the brotherhood “code”. Once he realizes Steve is short changing Pippa he isn’t afraid to confront his friend even at the risk of their friendship.
I really liked Harry; he is a down to earth blue collared mechanic, who can’t be bothered with conquering the world, he is content with his lot in life. Harry shows great character growth as this story progresses, this book is largely told from Harry’s POV.
I loved the way this story unfolded it was full of internal and external conflicts and emotional ups and downs.

I REALLY enjoyed this story; it was full of wit, humor, sass and sizzling chemistry.
Caitlyn and Dax literally bump into each other one night at a club and the chemistry between the two is instantaneous.
Our girl Caitlyn has quite the ring collection; she is coming off yet another broken engagement of which now there are three. Caitlyn decides what she needs is an emotional Catharsis, some fun and frivolity as opposed to the whole love, emotion, feelings song and dance – In other “Sorbet sex” and Dax is the answer to her prayers, Dax, oh boy Dark, intense delicious Dax!
‘You are a stronger woman than I,’ Franny said witha sigh. ‘I wouldn’t have the hide to call sleeping with that gelato sex—’‘Sorbet.’ ‘Right. But sorbet’s so cold, and he’s just so big and yummy and intense. I’d call it...flambé sex!’
Caitlyn has made some mistakes in the past mistaking caring and affection for Love, she is afraid to make the same mistake with Dax, she knows that he is different from any other guy she has dated and is afraid to put her vulnerabilities to test where is he is concerned, so keeping it casual between them is clearly the way to go.
Neither of Caitlyn nor Dax are looking for love or commitment, but what starts out as a one night stand turns into casual dating which blossoms into a full-fledged love affair before the two even realize it…. But how will Dax react when he finds out Caitlyn has been engaged before…
I’ve been waiting the release of this book, It’s been a while almost 18 months since Ally’s last Presents release, yes I’m counting ;) and this book reminded me why I enjoy Ally’s books so much and why she is on my must read Harlequin author list.
With witty narrative and snappy dialogues and emotive love scenes The Rules of Engagement is definitely a page turner…one I would definitely recommend.
My FAV Quote and total awwwwww moment
"I have to see you every day. To talk to you whenever I need to. To touch you whenever I want to. To kiss you every chance I get. To make love to you as many times a day as humanly possible. To hold you every night for the rest of my life. And I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen. Marry you, not marry you. Give you a ring, give you an island. Adopt a rescue llama, adopt Franny. Whatever it takes.’

The Marriage Mistake by author Jennifer Probst is book 3 in her incredible Marriage to the Billionare series and it was just amazing and so much fun to read. This story captured my attention right from the beginning with it's lovable characters, witty dialogue, sexual tension and hot sex scenes.
I loved and adored the sexy hero in this story, Max Gray, who doesn't know what has hit him when he encounters Carina Conte, all grown-up now, feisty and too sexy for his peace of mind. I enjoyed watching Max struggle with his non-brotherly-like feelings for Carina and the jealousy that consumes him as she tells him she wants to experience sex without any long-term commitment even if it's not with him. He's overly protective of her and doesn't feel like he's good enough for her but also doesn't want anyone else to have her either. I enjoyed the comaderie and friendship he has with her brother, Michael. He's caught between what he perceives as family betrayal and giving into his desires which creates great conflict in a love story.
Carina is tired of wearing her heart on her sleeves for Max and decides to appear more confident and sexy in her pursuit of independence and some pleasure. She teases Max mercilessly with her wardrobe and her innuendoes and it was so much fun to see a man squirm and finally give in. I liked that Carina is a strong, confident woman now yet still shows her vulnerability. I loved her friendship with Alexa and Maggie and their scenes together were hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing. And let not forget the force to be reckoned with, Mama Contes, who is the wisest woman and such a fun character to see in action.
The author did a brilliant job writing a story filled with love, laughter, family, and friendships with characters readers have come to love. Each book in this series gets even better and I highly recommend The Marriage Mistake to all romance readers. I could not get enough of it and I'm so happy that there will be another book in this wonderful series, which has become one of my favorites. ...more
This book made me cry tons, there is an underlying thread of sorrow attached to this book but also a big rainbow of sunshine and hope.
Death can be devastating to a family, especially when you loose the “Glue” that holds the family together. For Michael, Billie was that Glue; his beloved vibrant young wife was snatched away out of the blue leaving him distraught with sorrow and with two young children to raise.
Angie, Billie’s best friend has been a rock to this grieving family providing them comfort and support and being there for them in their time of need.
As Michael and Billie spend time together and heal, they develop a friendship and an easy companionship; Suddenly Michael and Billie start to see each other in a different light. Michael begins to see Angie as a beautiful desirable woman, and Angie is attracted to Michael big time.
Angie and Michael are so filled with guilt and fight the attraction tooth and nail, their romance is slow to develop, but oh so beautiful and heartwarming to read.
I liked the fact that the author didn’t feel the need to victimize the first wife to justify Michael falling in love again.
Within Reach shows that you do not have to quantify love; one can have two true soul mates in one life time, and love two people equally without one relationship over shadowing or replacing the other.
I loved the play of emotions in this book; it was sad, yet funny and deeply moving.
Sarah Mayberry has written a wonderfully poignant and heartfelt tale of second chances and finding true love again
I would highly recommend this book, but be warned you will need a box of Kleenex on hand. ...more

The book was a perfect 10!
The book told of Ivy the super organized wedding planner and her sexy as sin one night stand photographer,Ben. Reading about these two tip toeing around each other after their super hot encounter heated up the pages and I could not get enough!
The blurb will give you a very good idea what is to come but what follows is more than just your average story of love. The extreme passion and pure emotion that the author packed into this one is simply put superb! Favorite Quote:
"I don't know how anyone can stay dry eyed at a wedding." Easy. Know the divorce stats."
This book took me behind the scenes of what all goes into planning a wedding. I never actually thought about all the little details that are needed to bring a wedding together for a bride and groom.
I adored the glimpse into the world of wedding planning and the unfolding relationship between between Ben and Ivy is explosive!
Having never read anything by this author before I can with all honesty say that I will definitely be a returning reader and I am glad to have been introduced to the author's captivating style of writing.

The Tarnished Jewel of Jazaar will put you through an emotional ringer as it leads you on a beautiful journey of perseverance, hope, trust and true love.
American teen Zeo is forced to move to Jazaar to live with her relatives when she is orphaned. At 15 Zoe is suddenly thrust in an oppressive male dominated society where her family considers her tarnished as she is not Jazaari born. Her rights and ambitions are stifled and her only escape from the cruelty she suffers on a daily basis is an arranged marriage to Sheikh Nadir.
Both Nadir and Zoe have ulterior motives for agreeing to the arranged Marriage, but what starts out as a means to an end for both of them blossoms into a wonderful romance much too both their surprise. I love the ending and the epilogue; both are very heartfelt and beautifully written.
Zoe is constantly plotting her escape throughout the book. I totally adored Zoe’s feisty personality; her defiance, her resilience, her courage and her supreme determination to achieve her goals.
What makes this book stand out are the two beautifully written characters in Zoe and Nadir, they are constantly conflicted between using the other to achieve their goals and doing right by the other.
Congrats Susanna on your debut Presents release, you sure have a Winner on your hands with ‘The Tarnished Jewel of Jazaar. This book had me captivated from start to finish and I would highly recommend this book. ...more
“There were chills up my spine and some thrills I can't define" one-way to sum up Ashes and Wine by Taryn Elliot.
The chemistry between guitar strumming wine maker Royal and bookstore owner Tessa is smoldering hot, what starts out as a one night stand between these two leads to something beautiful and poignant; a story that will truly touch your heart.
You know you have a winner on your hands when a book can take you through a range of emotions and Ashes and Wine certainly did that for me. I laughed so hard reading about Tessa and Mercy’s drunken aha moment over a bottle of tequila I cried and I felt so deep about the sorrow and loss facing Royal and his family I couldn’t help but get all emotionally chocked up.
The writing is flawless, it captivated me from the very beginning; I devoured this book in less than 2 hours, I can’t wait to the read the next installment by Taryn Elliott –Mercy and Alaric story, hopefully we will get to catch up with Royal and Tessa again as well.
‘Ashes and Wine’ has it all in spades, love, laughter, family, holy smokin’ passion and deep emotions. You definitely want to be all over this one, highly recommended ...more
Call me wild! Well call me a FAN! Loved this book by Robin Kaye.
Fisher is an Orthopedic surgeon, who is a health nut, Loves to cook, considers cleaning therapeutic, a little OCD and knits. Enough said!
Our girl Jessie is a sports writer, who has just been laid off; She moves to Boise, Idaho and decides to try her hand at writing a romance novel for some fast cash, how hard can it be right? She is a writer after all. Oh and did I mention she doesn’t believe in romance or Love? Yep!
Jessie’s first impressions of Fisher is that he is a ‘stalker’; Jessie makes some pretty big assumptions about Fisher, which unravel hilariously as the story moves along.
Fisher and Jessie decide to date in the name of research….ofcos. Fisher’s courtship of Jessie is a laugh a minute, throw in smoking hot, passion filled love scenes and what we have is a winner on our hands.
This is my First Robin Kaye book, and I’m hooked big time. The characters were well developed, quirky and fun, the writing was pure genius. I can’t wait to read Karma and Trapper stories next.

You will instantly fall in love with Princess Emmeline d'Arcy and Sheikh Makin Al-Koury and will be emotionally vested from the get go. I love how protective Makin is of Emmeline even though he is drawn to her against his will.
Jane has a style that is uniquely her own. What really takes this book from good to truly amazing is the storytelling; not only is it vivid and descriptive but it is mainly told from Makin’s POV; you immediately get an insight into Makin’s emotions and his conflicting feelings towards Emmeline.
His Majesty’s mistake is truly an amazing story; funny at times yet intensely emotional at others; a story about second chances and looking beyond the surface.
His Majesty's Mistake definitely stands out as one of the best ‘Sheikh’ books I have read recently. Highly recommended and my Top Pick!...more
Rodeo Rebel is an absolute joy to read, you will laugh and cry and cheer Florentine on as she takes on the ride of her life – 8 seconds to glory and making dreams come true.
This is a story of a female bull rider Florentine McDougal fighting for a spot at the top in a totally male dominated world of Bull Riding.
Cole Reardon acquired Turner Grain Corporation and along with it the sponsorship of a female bull rider, he does not condone risky thrill seeking behavior and wants out of the contract, much to his dismay Florentine is not going to be talked out of her iron clad contract and so the dance begins.
Cole is one sexy cowboy and single dad, try as he may he can’t seems to keep away from Florentine; there’s lot’sa chemistry between these two and their witty banter is a treat to read.
I think Florentine is my favorite heroine by far; She is sassy and feisty with a tough exterior and a total mush interior. Her wise cracks are goanna have you laughing; you are going to love her spirit and determination to achieve her goals and succeed in the face of adversity.
I also love the dynamics between the five McDougal sisters and their love and solidarity for each other.
This is my first book by Debra Kayn and I have to say it is awesome. Rodeo Rebel is a terrific read, a story that will keep you engaged and cheering for Florentine to the end. Highly recommended. ...more
