It's not at all something I thought I would because it's not the usual type of story I read (typically I don't go for slave stories and I also don't gravitate to stories that don't have much emotion written into the narrative)-- but I grew intrigued as I read and along the way I found I really wanted to know what would happen. I soon read as much as I could/got up to date and even put alerts on freece so I would know when chapters are updated. I have since recommended this book to people who seemed they may be interested.
It's precisely because I read this book and like it even though it's something that, for all intensive purposes, I would've assumed I WOULDN'T like, that makes me feel like it's written quite well.
The writing style is minimal/not emotionally charged but also seems professional. I really like how the imagery is displayed in a few concise words.
Also, I know this isn't about the book itself, but freece is one of the sweetest people ever in existence. The fact that I <3 her for that makes me like the story even more.
I was really excited when I heard it was going to be published. This is one I will definitely be buying :)
I know I haven't gone into anything about the plot itself but I think that's something better to just read...
PS: the reason I'm giving it a 4 rather than 5 is because I'm an emotionally-driven reader. I like it but it's not a book that makes me freak out falling all over myself to get to the new chapter when one is released. I'm pleased to see an update but I can put off reading it for weeks if I need to until I get in the right mood. Because of that, to be consistent in my rating style, I have to give it a 4 rather than 5.
Regardless, I think it's good so if the story sounds at all intriguing to you, I recommend giving it a try!...more
