The way Dianne writes give me a perfect old Skool feel, the way in which she writes brings back the good old days when writing was educational, refreshing and exciting. When it was inspiring. The effort and perfection conveyed in her work is delightful. And Pouraka is exactly that. It's not just beautifully present but I learned a lot while reading it. I never realised what I didnt know about the ocean, and the merfolk, the creatures, everything! I love the story and really dove into it from the get go. The heartfelt story of Pouraka, the fight for survival, partnership and love, indifference, understanding and bonds between other colonies of merfolk and of course the bonds between the humans. Survival! Pouraka was an eye opener to how cruel humans can be and how real of an issue it is with the poaching that goes on in the world. I'm giving Pouraka a five star. It deserves more.Pouraka ...more

I find that I am probably not an audio-ear. Mainly while i'm working myself! But that has no reflection on 'Fighting for you' AKA: Head Over Wheels.
Narrator - Melissa Barr was fun, vibrant and upbeat to listen too. I loved her enthusiastic delivery. Fighting For You - is a refreshing read second time round - it was defiantly fascinating to hear Jewlia's story through someone elses voice other than my own! Not only because it was a whole new invigorating kick , but in audio too!!
January Valentine has done it again! That goes without saying that I read this book in February 2013, and still now today I remember it like it were yesterday, and now I hear the changes as it's been read to me.
Did I love the first version better from the second? - Normally I am the type that love the original more; and in this case that is still true. But I must say that I love the revamp too! It's a brutal authenticity. The only thing I am left to say is; 'January Valentine is boundless!' & an adept new revamp of 'Head Over Wheels' is a grEAT! Refresh! :P ...more

The book takes place in England, London to be exact. The London Olympics opening ceremony 2012, better to be watching it at home in this case. Frankie Drake, narrator - tells you about his hopes to win his ex-girlfriend Hilary back, to say he's obsessed is the least of his problems right now. Poor Frankie, it's been a year, that love factor of desirable triumph and by the synonymous of crushing love you have for her, I am routine for you buddy! He seems very dramatic but romantic. The guy that always finishes last; he of course thinks differently. Frankie says he is not a sap or idle day dreamer, he then corrects himself by saying 'not completely' Lol! He has a high regard of himself, Hilary's point of view is somewhat different. But she is starting to feel like 'high maintenance', to me. So after losing his job he became this loser trying to prove his worth. Frankie is dangerously clinging to the denial of the possibility that he and Hilary will get back together, so much so that he constantly thinks about it, ponders about it, plans it. I giggled continuously for most of the reading, I gave detail to one scene to my partner at one point of the book and I was in stitches. Frankie is in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and he is literally in a position where he is surrounded, he's standing watching some poor dead girl being devoured and slaughtered still by these two zombies in a salon and all he's thinking about while he's watching is how he wants to get Hilary back! Lol!! It just made me laugh so hard I was gasping for air while I read it to my partner. I love this book! Frankie is so blasé to the whole zombie apocalypse thing, he's all oopsi daisy Lol

You have the young, beautiful, smart, lovely and kindhearted, Spencer Marshall girl. She's an executive assistant, striving to be CEO of a start-up internet company called; "Better Keep Jogging Baby" (www.bkjb.com). The company's website privides page after page of fitness and nutrition tips and information to the world. Features and Reviews the locals and highly eclaimed gyms around America. Spencer, being brought up in a less fortunate family life, gives her that grateful and symathetic edge, which is why she can never say no, and believe it's the reason she's dealt such shite cards. She gives you the sense that she's worked hard to get where she is and she'll keep at it no matter what; and she's done really well for herself. Her simpatico and subtle support system is provided by her best friend and roommate, Ryan Kennedy, the sharp shooting, hard hitting force that Spencer needed in her life, she forces her recovery after a bad break-up. Spencer's recent luck of the draw found her in termoil with ex-boyfriend Travis, AKA; TravAss, AKA: "Biggest mistake in her life so far". Fate takes a back-seat and she's saved by destiny when she is nominated to do a report/ checkout/ take advantage of a 2 week free gym membership at the local and newly opened gym; "Club 24" by her boss, whom should have been doing that report herself. Spencer takes the challenge and heads to the gym where destiny meets her at the front head-on.
Now some would say it was predictable that Spencer would find someone at the gym, i'm sorry but how many times have you found someone at the gym? Especially after a brutal break-up? No, I didn't think so. It isn't as predictable as you might think, it's hard enough after a break-up that you'd instantly get back out there searching for another potential relationship, you're heart broken, you're insecure, you're vulnerable... especially in Spencer's circumstances, she had her heart broken and stamped on. TrevAss was unfaithful, caught jolly-rodgering his secretary in his office! A-Hole!
So like I was saying, it's not predictable to say that Spencer would meet someone at the gym. At first I thought it was going to be the Instructor, the Trainer, or even the dirty towel boy, but never the owner of the gym, i expected most gym owners to be less than fit, or is that just the stereo-type in my talking!! In any case, the owner of this gym had to be where destiny handed her the lushous, sexiest, buffiest, amazeballs, Brandon Montgomery from Texas. Spencer had hit the jack-pot with this guy.
At first it seemed he wasn't internested, and it's probably something that would happen to me lol he doesn't actually speak to her for the first week, he just smiles a lot and makes eye contact, but never says a thing to her. Like I would have, Spencer cuts her losses and decides to give up on the idea of Hotty at the gym and her.
I won't give no more away, it'll turn into a spoiler rather than a review as my partner says (lol) you can see this review on my blog review at firstname.lastname@example.org, facebook page @Author2AuthorBC, also on most social and media sites like Goodreads/Barnes & Noble etc...
Awesome first book Kim, I'm looking forward to getting the full set and continue my journey with Spencer and Brandon in 'Wanted'. ...more

But you already sense there is more to it than that; something not quite right. The main character, Brook, and his father, Latham (or isit?), live on this island and work. They have guests, Waywards they call them. Selected people from other lands, other nations, nations Brook himself has never known, he's never left the island. These Waywards have purpose, "and what purpose is that?" I hear ya say! Well you'll have to read it and see heehee. In other news, this book differently provides you with intrigue and hunger for more. Especially with Brook and his Migraines, I found I just had to find out what these Migraines were all about, not just the purpose of this Island and it's Waywards. Why does he have Migrains? Why does he have this illusions? Are they Illusions? Bwahahahahahahahahahaha :P x x x...more
