This is a very smartly woven book that keeps you occupied till the very end. The sparks and chemistry between handsome Sam and the sweet Dellina is sure to melt the pieces of your heart. I love the humor in the series and despite the vulgarity, you can't helo but love Sam's mom for the character that she is. Somehow, fools gold was never thr same once i read ford's story and the flashes in which he appears jolts my heart again and again. excellent read for those who are looking for love or believe in love or are in love.(less)

Whenever I come across a flawed character that isn't completely dark, I fall in love with the book. It i no surprise that as soon as i unveiled the layers of Astrid, I knew this is going to be one of those books which will be etched in my mind.
The book for me is essentially the journey of Astrid.. how she craves to mean something to her own mum.. she constantly doubts that she will never be enough.. which is a self portrait as most of us think that we're never enough especially for the ones we love. Isn't life but a series of endless unanswered questions?
This book makes you walk into the shoes of Astrid.. you would feel her to be a part of you, the part each one of us is scared to admit that we have it instilled in us...
The series of foster homes she has.. they're troubles and yet she takes a part of it with her till the very end.. as much as i want to, i can't even bring myself to hate Ingrid because she too is flawed.. seriously flawed, but flaws make us human and i have always been flawed myself..
One of those characters that seriously captures the theme of a book even when they do not cover all chapters are the ones who are the real gem. For me, it has to be Claire.. She seals the book and ever since her entry and till the very end, you will keep going back to her because she is the broken beauty that blesses the forgotten.
It took me too long to read this book, but t is worth all the time that was invested.

For all those who love ROMANCE, this one is so stunning that you are going to smile all the way. the choice of phrases in the book is so smoking good that you're going to kiss your book time and again.
The journey of love, the ups and downs, the crests and troughs and all the melodrama is sewn so perfectly that you can't help but marvel the tug that the book creates. If you're looking for the perfect guy whose flaws are so lovely that you can't stop obsessing about him, LUCAS is your man. Hard to think of this book without Colleen because her vibrancy is what keeps the book afloat. Kristan Higgins, you seriously amaze me with every book. Ideal for the die hard romantic lovers and the humor and lovely peppiness makes it unputdownable.(less)

The POETRY is OUT OF THE WORLD BRILLIANT, but there could have been a very intense story or may be, it didn't register with me. I need to discuss it with friends who've read it and may be, I will have a better "review" to review.
If you love words, you're going to LOVE LOVE LOVE it. But, you will also Wish for a little more prose.. a little more pages, a little more tale. That's why a STAR less from this otherwise "STAR" book.(less)

This is one of those books, with one big difference... there isn't "dull moments".. sure, there are troughs, but that is becuse the crests are sooo phenomenally high that even the "good" portions look like trough.
I wouldn't say the book is un-putdownable because I kind of took a hiatus in between. the book starts brilliantly.. I am a sucker for questions.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE questions and when I saw Oskar questioning every single thing in the universe, it was like the ULTIMATE BOOK for me to read. However, it has parts of science fiction.. there are too many inventions, too many discoveries and call me shallow, but I somehow never could appreciate science fiction, but even then the story sucked me in. It kept me awake till 3 in the night..I just couldn't keep it down... what amazes me the most is the protagonist, the little child who is too intelligent, too emotional.. he has too much of love and it kind of killed my heart to see the actual significance of the lock.. His mum is the dark horse and you just can't help but fall in love with each one of the characters... the grandpa, the grandma, the queer Mr. Black...
I still can't fathom the aftermath that happened as a repercussion of 9/11. when I was halfway through the book, I thought I am not going to review this one as it is another of those 3.7 stars which is okay to read, but not okay enough to leave an impact. I HAD NEVER BEEN SO WRONG EVER BEFORE IN MY LIFE. as I finished the book, I LOVED LOVED LOVED it. there isn't much from the point of view of a plot, sure, the grandma's tale could be a standalone story, but there are too many good things I love in this book..
watch the journey of a little child who lost his dad and wants to do anything to come close to him... Does he manage? it's both a YES and a NO.(less)

This is one of the killer you just can't miss. To have a narrative done by none other than death is going to leave you bamboozled and shocked and stunned and impressed. This book will make you pause at places and you just need to sit down and contemplate at what you've just read.
There are too many good words and some of the most stunning quotes you're going to come across. I was gripped so hard by the book that it left me a little un-composed at the end. While I love all parts of the book, it is the last leg, precisely the last 50 pages that will make you bleed in the true sense.
There are more than one characters that you will love in this book. It is not a romantic story, but the romance of two little children is going to leave you teary eyed. The bond they shared will move stones to tears. The love of a foster child for her father will kill parts of your heart that have always been so whole that you could not even believe they could be pierced. The love of a girl for stranger is going to make you wish you too had someone like that. This book makes you QUIVER, SHIVER, CRY and DIE- all at the same time..

I mean I am just going to be a little shallow here and talk about the protagonist. while the story is really good and it does makes you quiver and feel happy at reading it, The "HERO" (as I address the lead protagonist) doesn't BATH regularly. How do I love a hero if he doesn't even bathes and shaves for ages. thankfully by the end of the book he does and that's when the apple realllyy falls from the tree.. the book is awesome.. one star deducted for keeping Ian shabby for too long, but he has a heart of gold, so yes I do rate the book pretty high. the storyline is awesome as to how a man hides himself pretending to heal his scars when all it is doing is hurting him more. It takes one hell of a girl to be the cocoon and spread the wings and make him see the beautiful colors that life paints.
An excellent read but I prefer my heroes- clean, well bathed and ALWAYS GROOMED :)(less)
