I considered giving it 4 stars but since there wasn't much I could fault I had to give 5. The story was really well told and very much kept your attention the whole way through. I'm really interested to see how the rest of the series will turn out because Everneath was amazing!
After spending 100 years as a forfeit in the everneath, Nikki decides to return home and say her final goodbyes before the everneath claims her forever. On the surface only 6 months has past and now Nikki only has 6 months left to find a way to re-connect with her family and friends before leaving for good. However Cole, the everliving that brought her to the everneath has other ideas and wishes to make her his queen before her time is up.
I really liked that the book was based around greek mythology. The stories it was based on seemed really cool and after reading this book I'd be pretty interested in learning more on them.
As much as I did love the book I really wished for a lot of it that Nikki would choose to go with Cole.... Ya I know everyone was probably rooting for Jack but Cole clearly did care for Nikki and I must admit I have a thing for guys like him in books..... Even though I would have chosen Cole I did see the appeal to Jack, the guy never does give up on Nikki and it's really cute.
(view spoiler)[I really enjoyed when Jack and Nikki decide to find out as much as they can on the everneath before it's too late. It was also really fun to find out some of the secrets they un-earthed like the one about Cole's heart. (hide spoiler)]
Even though I did disagree with her choice to stick out the 6 months and not just leave with Cole, I really admired Nikki as a character. She makes a lot of good decisions and she did do the right thing by returning and trying to fix things. She's also pretty determined which makes her a really good female lead and she stuck to her plan and did her best to make things right on the surface. So Nikki was a really like-able character for me. The ending was perfect for the book too and I loved it!
I'd definitely read this again and do plan on reading the rest of the series. I would seriously reccomend it to anyone looking for a really interesting read. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>(less)

That blurb on the back of the book instantly grabbed my attention and I knew I had to read the book. Ultraviolet went above and beyoned my expectations, I didn't honestly expect it to be as good as it was. I definitely wasn't expecting the twist so that was an amazing surprise.
Ultraviolet follows Alison as she spends time in Pine Hills psychiatric treatment centre after her classmate Tori Beaugrand goes missing. Alison believes she killed Tori but after the arrival of the mysterious Dr. Faraday she slowly wonders if she really was responsible for Tori's dissapearance.
I loved this story! The authors decision to give Alison synesthesia made the whole book so different and captivating. Seeing things through Alisons eyes was amazingly interesting and hearing her describe the colors and tastes of different letters and words gave the book an amazing quality.
Alison was also a really well-written character. For the most part all of the characters were well-written and were mostly pretty interesting... My favourite was Kirk up until 'the incident', even after that though I found it hard to dislike him especially after what Faraday told Alison about him. Speaking of Faraday, he was pretty amazing! I loved how he was with Alison and he was made all the more interesting the further on the book went.
Overall I loved this book and would reccomend it to anyone considering it! (less)

I got it because I thought the concept sounded really cool and I thought I'd try something new! I'm so glad I got this because it was a really enjoyable read! Mostly I couldn't put it down because I'd have to find out what would happen next!
I love the way the story was told. Getting to hear Hannah on the tapes and then have Clay's reaction was a great way of telling the story! You get more insight that way too which is good.
I also really loved Hannah and Clay as characters, both were very different yet similar at the same time. For two people who apparently have a lot in common they led very different lives, mostly because of what Hannah called 'the snowball effect' I guess. It really got me wondering how different Hannah's life would have been if she'd never met Justin.
Hannah's story was really sad, all because of stupid rumours mostly which is what makes the whole thing worse. The people on the tapes really did do some awful things between them. I would have loved to see more of their reactions after recieving the tapes and hearing just how they affected Hannah!
This book was definitely a good read ! I'd love to read it again sometime and it gets you thinking a lot which is always good. I'd definitely reccomend this if you're thinking of reading it! (less)

Generation dead was awesomely cool ! It was a really good concept too, sure it was weird but well imagined nonetheless. It gets you thinking a lot too... Well if you're a pondering kind of person. It showed great examples of prejudice aswell and it was great to see each characters different reaction to the living impaired.
All the characters were pretty good in my opinion. I quite liked Phoebe! She was pretty determined and made for a good character all round! I liked Adam too, especially since he was trying to change and be a better person. Master Griffin taught him well! I found myself really admiring Tommy too, like Phoebe I think he was really brave to do some of the things he did.
Generally I was shocked by some of the meaner responses to the living impaired.... some people treated them absolutely awfully and people like Pete and the protestors at the football game should have been ashamed! Yes I know it's fiction but thought-provoking nonetheless!
I really want to read the next book! especially after the ending! The book is a really fresh and cool concept and it's also an eye- opener... (less)

One thing I missed in this book however was Caine. I felt like we saw less of him than we should have and honestly I really missed his crazy plots and plans. I know he did have yet another crazy plan in action throughout the book but it wasn't as gripping and twisted as his others. Of course less Caine means less Diana which was sad. Diana is possibly my favourite character in the series. I have 5 favourites but Diana just stands out for me. Her relationship with Caine is interesting to watch develop and any of their scenes together in Lies had me absolutely hooked! So I really hope we'll see more of them in Plague.
The stress really got to Sam in this book. The town council really does take advantage of him though and I'm glad they get a taste of what it's like for him when the perdido beach fire spreads and he's no-where to be seen. Astrid really annoyed me in this book. Her treatment of Sam at times is awful, especially while he was having that mini meltdown after they found the dead kid with whip marks. By the end of the book I wished they'd just break-up to be honest. Part of me wants to see if something could happen between him and Taylor. The girl has a serious crush on him and she's definitely not as uptight as Astrid.
Once again the writing was brilliant! In the middle of all the action you could really feel the suspense and yet again we saw different parts of the action un-fold through the eyes of various characters. Which I loved!
So I'm really excited to read Plague. Lies was another fabulous addition and I was sad to see it end. (less)

Hunger was full of the action and suspense that made me love Gone. The fast paced plot left me struggling to put the book down.
I really love the characters in this book. Theyre all so well written and developed well. I can't even start to decide on my favourite! It's probably a toss up between Diana, Brianna, Sam, Edilio and Jack.
Parts of hunger were definitely scarier than Gone. With starvation setting in the kids in the FAYZ are starting to get desperate and even a little crazy. Then of course there's the darkness. It has its hooks in Lana and Caine using them to do it's will and help it grow stronger. The darkness terrifies me! Especially when it's plan is revealed!
Things in the FAYZ just keep getting worse and I really felt sorry for Sam having to deal with one crisis after another. To make things worse 'normal' kids are starting to resent the 'freaks', leading some kids to crazy and desperate acts.
The author does a great job with the narration I think! With so much going on you'd almost get lost in it all, but the excellent pace and narration lets the story flow easily throughout the book. I personally love getting different perspectives from different characters during the action aswell !
After Hunger I'm excited to read on and see how the kids deal with worse and worse starvation, see whats next for the darkness and see how some of my favourite charcters cope with it all!(less)

Lenah as a character, I mostly disliked. There was plenty of times I liked her but sadly she was awful at making decisions (for the most part). She was also kinda mean, sure she was trying to change when she was a human but still! My favourite characters were Rhode and Tony! Unfortunately their endings weren't happy ones ! much to my disappointment. I don't want to read the rest of the series, unfortunately..... I did like some parts ! Honest ! I really dislike giving bad reviews but you know it had to be done. There were good points, like Tony and Rhode and the crazy vampire world! Not too many though :((less)

I liked the concept, any book that has anyone with 'powers' usually rocks my world so the magical powers and what not were my kinda thing ! The characters were mostly all really well written and the main characters were all pretty like-able which is good. I really loved Lily's relationship with Scout ! It was great to see them look out for each other throughout the book. St. Sophia's boarding school has a pretty sweet uniform by the sounds of it ! The author did a great job of describing the school and uniforms also. The mean girls were really mean, I wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of Mary Katherine! Jason's eyes also did it for me... The descriptions of them were pretty awesome ! His relationship with Lily was also quite cute. The flirting was nice for a change and they didnt just rush into it. Not to mention his um 'powers'.... His was pretty awesome ! and made him even more like-able for me ! XD I'll probably read the next one because this was pretty enjoyable. (less)

It set up the whole story, basically it's years into the future and love has been deemed a disease, everyone living outside of the wilds gets to get the 'cure' when they're 18 freeing them from love forever.
We're told Lena's story, a girl who thinks the cure will make her safe and happy until she gets 'infected' and everything changes. I really liked Lena, well the Lena that followed her heart. Her and Alex were amazingly cute and I loved reading about them. All the characters were well written! I think I especially loved Grace, she was really sweet and Lena was right when she called her strong. And of course I loved Alex!
The writing was also really beautiful! Everything was described so well, it was one of those books where you almost felt you were there. Oh how I love dystopian fiction! Part of it is that I adore reading about different worlds as such. This is a pretty good one too! It's definitely different and so creative aswell. It's really an awesome love story too!
I'd definitely reccomend it! It was amazing! (less)

But it gave me a nice shock and turned out to be really funny!
firstly I loved Sophia! She was awesomely funny and her never ending sarcastic comments made me adore her as a character.
'' I'm experiencing some teenage angst, Ms Casnoff, I need to, like, write in my journal or something''
That particular quote had me laughing uncontrolably and also won me over if I ever had any doubts about her as a character!
Jenna was also awesomely cool! A pink-lovin vampire, who wouldve thought it huh? Her friendship with Sophia was really sweet which was another one of the books strong points.
And of course Archer! The comebacks and comments between him and Sophie were a highlight from the first chapter!
If anything i wished the book was longer... but if its a series I guess I'll get over that ... Anyway I liked this book! It was the right amount of crazy! (less)

This book is the first in the lorien legacies series and it's about john smith who is an alien from the planet lorien. there were nine aliens originally on earth but three are dead. The aliens hunting them are called mogadorians and they have to kill the lorien aliens in order of number, John is number four so he's next... Hence the name of the book :) It's a pretty good sci-fi book and i liked the concept! Bernie Kosar is an awesome dog for the record ! (less)

Dark Flame is like the 4th book in the Immortals seires and Ever casts a spell that goes wrong and ends up drawing her to Roman. It wasn't bad enough to put me off reading the next one but Dark Flame was not as good as the others in the series. I really dislike Haven in this one ! Lots of the characters have gotten annoying to be honest. Except Damen, he's fab ! XD If you've read the others in the series though you should read this ..... (less)

This book went way beyond my expectations, it was outstanding. I love dystopian fiction so I expected that I would enjoy this but I actually LOVED it! It had lots of action and Tris was an awesome heroine. The world the author created was also brilliant and after a few pages I found myself getting lost in it.
Divergent is set in a dystopian future in which society is split into five factions; Amity (the peaceful), Candor (the honest), Erudite (the intelligent), Abnegation (the selfless) and Dauntless (the brave). At the age of sixteen you must decide with which faction your loyalty lies and in this world it's faction before blood. Our heroine Tris must choose between staying with Abnegation and her family or venturing out alone to a different faction.
I had serious trouble with putting this book down. I stayed up until the early hours of the morning reading it and picked it straight back up when I woke up. Yes, it was that good ! The plot was pretty fast-paced which really worked and I loved, and the action was just amazing. The romance wasn't rushed or pushed either and it fit in seamlessly with the development of the plot.
Tris as the main character was just awesome! She was a kick-ass heroine and made the book what it was. You really root for her in this story and find yourself absorbed in her journey.
Obviously I loved Four, I mean how couldn't you? He was perfect for Tris and watching their relationship develop was one of the book's strong points. What I really loved was the pace it developed at, it was perfect and the author didn't rush it at all which made the book even more awesome!
The factions really got me thinking during the book and I found myself wondering where I would fit in. How does anyone make that choice? I think Tris made the right one though. (view spoiler)[Dauntless, though awfully scary, seemed like some seious fun! Some of the pure thrill things they do make you really fall for the faction, that being said it did have it's many faults like the other factions. (hide spoiler)]
The ending, like the rest of the book, was perfect. It was perfectly paced and the lead-up to it was brilliant! After this I'm extremely excited to read the next one in the series.
I adored Divergent and anyone who loves action and dystopia will really enjoy it. Tris was an amazing kick-ass character, the action was awesome, the pace was perfect and the plot was just wow.
