It is a very easy, fast-paced read with not a lot of angst, but I still enjoyed it and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I really rate it 3.5 stars, but I will bump it up to 4.
Justin has been a high school coach for 5 years. Because of his profession, he lives firmly in the closet for fear of losing his job and good reputation. When Justin meets Luc, the star of his football team's father, he is immediately attracted to him.
To both Justin's horror and delight, Luc is giving him signals and being openly flirtatous with him making Justin question his decision to protect his career by hiding his homosexuality and taking a chance on the handsome Luc. But, it is a huge risk that he doesn't know if he can take, no matter how irresistable he finds Luc.
Luc has been attracted to Justin ever since he first laid eyes on him. Successful, handsome and open about his sexuality, he understands why Justin has to be discreet, but how can they ever have anything serious if Justin isn't willing to take a chance?(less)

I have said before that I am addicted to Carol's books. She writes more fluff than anything...but dang sometimes I need the fluff too!
At twenty-seven, James (Jamey) Pattrick has always put aside his wishes to be the prodical son to his parents. He has gone and successfully attended law school and given up his own dreams of being a farmer, like his grandfather, to earn his father's love and acceptance.
Feeling the noose of a life he doesn't want to life tighten around his neck, he goes against his father's wishes and decides to explore Australia for at least 4 months. Soon, he gets tired of the nightlife, and wanting to work with land once more before he has to give up his dreams, he seeks out work with a local sunflower farmer.
Lochlan (Lochie) McBride has lived his whole life closeted from his desires. At forty-one, he is a successful sunflower farmer, but lives a life of solitude and loneliness. When he is approached by the sweet and handsome Jamey, he decides to take a chance and hires him to help him harvest his crop.
At the weeks pass by, Jamey and Lochie become fast friends and grow more and more attracted to one another. As they give into their desires and feelings for one another, they both know they must sacrifice much to be together. Will they take that chance...or will their love be lost forever.
There is definately a colorful cast of characters in this book. I enjoyed the Australian slang and Lochie's friends are all interesting. I also STRONGLY suspect there is going to be a sequel to this book. I don't want to give anything away, but there are definately some unanswered questions and clues that this may be the start of one of Carol's famous series. (She is the queen of M/M Series romance;))
I really liked this book. It was definately a guilty pleasure that I enjoyed. I look forward to the next one. If you are offended by M/M explict sexual practices and dirty words, this book is not for you. (less)

Practically joined at the hip, they are both successful on the rodeo circut and even though they compete against one another, their friendship has always come first.
Jason and Andy fight the ongoing attraction they have for one another. They are affectionate and supportive and even willing kick the other person's ass to get them into shape, but they never act on their true feelings for one another.
Andy has been injured early on in the rodeo season. He still competes but knows he won't do well this year because of his injury. Jason on the other hand, is on top of his game. He has turned into a favorite on the circut, and has a really good shot at being the champion this year.
When Jason has a shocking accident on the job that leaves him sightless, he thinks his career is over. Andy immediately takes control and whisks Jason away to heal and lick his wounds. In the process of Jason's recovery period, Andy and few other close friends decide to keep Jason's blindness a secret because they don't want him to lose his sponsors immediately, and they hope the blindness will be a temporary condition.
Jason wants to give up. Thinking he has lost it all, he doesn't want to live, but Andy keeps him busy and pushes him to go past his injury and look toward a future. This brings them even closer than they were before, and soon they give into the feelings and attraction they have for one another and form a bond that is unbreakable. With Andy's love and emotional support Jason decides to do the unthinkable...ride the bull's blind.
I really enjoyed this book. Jason and Andy's relationship evolve from best friends to partners in a very appropriate and well timed manner. Not only did I root for them, but I genuinely liked them as well. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I am anxious to see how or if they can pull Jason riding blind in the rodeo circut off.

Forged: A Hammer Novel, surprised me in more ways than not. It takes an unexpected turn in the middle of it, that tests the physical and emotional connection between the characters. They both come through the situation will a love that is stronger and a bond is formed between them that will not be broken. I won't say what exactly happens because I don't want to spoil it, but do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this one!
When Jeremy takes a job as the new bouncer at "Hammer" an exclusive BDSM club, he thinks it will be just another day on the job. He has just a few short months until he graduates from college, and he is excited about starting his life after college. Jeremy has had problems with his love life. Built like a brick house, it is surprising to most people that he has no desire to be a Dom. Because of his size, he has had trouble finding a Dom that will fit into his more independent lifestyle.
Simon has been alone for a while. Although he frequents the "Hammer" he has yet to find the perfect sub and soul mate he is seeking. Not wanting a man who totally subservant, he craves a man who will bend to his will, but not break to it. When he meets Jeremy at the door the club, he is immediatey fasinated with him. Not only is there more to Jeremy than meets the eye, he finds himself totally captivated by Jeremy's sweet disposition, intelligence and charm.
As the two men hit it off, they soon see that they are perfect for one another. They have the same needs and work together like a well oiled machine in many ways. Just as they think that everything is going perfectly, tragic circumstances change their lives forever.
This book is about commitment, loyality and love. Watching Simon and Jeremy dedicate themselves to make their relationship work, no matter what is thrown at them was a beautiful thing to watch. As usual, Sean Michaels writes a very emotionally charged book with characters very well written and made for one another. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. It was simply a wonderful read.
A word of warning for the faint of heart. This book has MANY sex scenes in it. There is some BDSM play (nothing to over the top) and some very dirty language throughout this book. If this is offensive to you, this book is not for you. Luckily, I love a beautifully written love story with some very hot sex and such well written characters, I would be happy to call them "friends".

I read nothing but this genre for many, many years. I don't read this genre as much now. I don't know if I got burned out on them or what, but after I read "Duke's Project" it made me want to look into reading more of this genre I have ignored for the past couple of years.
Dani just wants a better life for herself and her self appointed guardians. Practically living off of the streets of London, she has witnessed many horrible things in her young life. Although she is street wise, she has an innocent and naive quality about her that makes others want to protect her. When she stumbles upon a dead body of an oblivious weathy male, she realizes that this is her opportunity to maybe make a few bucks and some warm food in her belly for her and her friends. She sets out to find out who the deceased man was so she can give his wealthy family some information, even if it is made up, so hopefully they will reward her with some money and maybe a hot meal.
Simon Thorndike, The Duke of Stratford has a reputation of being kind, loyal and fair. Determined to find out who is the killer of his cousin Douglas, he is surprised when Dani shows up on his doorstep insisting she has information about his cousin's murder. His first instinct is to throw her back on the streets where she came from, but as Dani stubbornly refuses to leave until she is heard, he starts seeing her for more than the dirty, uneducated person his first impression had given him. He decides to have her cleaned up and dressed in some of his sister's clothing so he can hear what she has to say, even though he really doesn't think she knows anything that will help him find his cousin's killer.
Seeing Dani cleaned up, and talking with her Simon begins to realise there more to Dani that meets the eye. Not only does he find himself atracted to her, but decides to take her under his wing. No matter what his family or friends might think.
Dani has never met anyone like Simon before. Not only is the most handsome man she has ever met, but one of the kindest. She can't believe that he wants to help her better herself and her situtation. Even with the oblivious lies she has told, Simon doesn't try to humilate her, instead he offers a friendship and a life that she never thought she would be a part of.
Simon is truly a wonderful hero! He has so many redeeming qualities that is attractive in a man. I immediately liked him and I thought that his adventure and romance with Dani made this such an enjoyable read for me. Simon definately rates up as one of my al time favorite heroes. Sexy, Smart, Strong-willed, Loyal and a little Alpha and Beta mixed together makes him the perfect hero! Plus, the chemistry between Simon and Dani was enough to steam up the windows in the house! Even though they came from such different lives, they find a common ground and become a strong, loving couple. I really enjoyed watching their relationship bloom and turn into a beautiful romance.
I loved this book, and I am really looking forward to reading the next book, Duke Pretender soon! If you are looking for a great historical romance with some interesting characters, a fast-paced storyline with mystery and adventure with a great love story, this book is definately for you!(less)

From the main heroes to the secondary and light third story characters storyline. This book had a lot going on in it. There is alot of emotionally charged dialog, funny moments, sexy moments and downright romantic moments in it. Since this is exactly the kind of book that I enjoy reading, I hated to see it end.
All of the characters had depth to them. I honestly didn't know that this is a sequel to another book (the seven year itch) which admittedly I haven't read. I usually like to read my books in order, but I got so caught up with the characters and storyline, I didn't want to stop reading it. From what I can tell the first book will have a menage scene in it...I don't like menage books, but I will give it a try because I cared about the characters and this book was good enough for me to try it out.
Blake Talbot has had a very difficult couple of years. He is feeling much guilt over his best friend, Charlie's death (you have to read the book to find out what happened) and has been clinically depressed for some time. He has even attempted to take his own life, but with medication and therapy, he is starting to feel more normal again. Charlie had reserved a 2 week stay at a dude ranch for Blake and his fraternity brothers before the accident. Determined to go, Blake and his friends make the trip to Montana to experience life as a cowboy.
Kris Killborn can't believe his bad luck. One of the remaining band members quit his band causing him to put his dream of being a musician on hold. Knowing that he has no income coming in, when he finds out that his friends at the Lazy C ranch are looking for some help, so he applies and gets the job.
Both Blake and Kris get more than they bargain for on this 2 week vacation. From the moment Blake and Kris meet there is an attraction there that will not be denied. Since they both have some emotional baggage to work through, it is not easy for them to take a chance on love and each other.
I loved watching both Blake and Kris's character develop throughout the book. Watching them come together was almost like an addiction. I couldn't stop reading until I finished the book. I really enjoyed the backstories almost as much as I did the romance between them. I really liked this book. Since this is the first time I have read this author, my plan is to be reading more of her books and hopefully they will be as satisfying as this one.
If you are offended by explicit M/M sex, this book is not for you.

Chase’s books? There is definitely no rhyme or reason to my madness! Sitting her thinking about it, I believe it’s because I love his work so much! I want to save it and read it when I am particularly feeling down, or I am out of sorts for some reason.
I am so glad I stopped putting Out of Bounds to read off. As usual T.A.’s characters are not only likeable, but humanly flawed as well. They are always people I can relate too. Their happiness or sadness that is going on in their lives makes me care about their wellbeing, and I always hope for their well deserved happy ending.
Kasey Johnson has had to sacrifice much for his successful career as a professional basketball player. Even though his very famous twin has been able to get out of the closet successfully without much backlash, Kasey knows that it won’t be the same for him, so he lives a lonely life with no one to love and come home too.
Ingram (Gram) Fletcher owns a very successful nightclub. He is Irish, successful and firmly out of the closet. He and Kasey have been friends for some time. Gram has hidden his desire to be with Kasey, because he doesn’t know if Kasey is gay or straight.
One night, Gram throws caution to the wind and sets out to seduce the sweet and lonely Kasey. When both men discover that there is more to their feelings toward one another than a crush, Kasey must make a difficult decision that will affect the rest of their lives.
I enjoyed reading about Kasey and Gram’s story. The sex was to hot it melted the ice cream I was eating while I was reading it. Plus, I will NEVER look at chocolate syrup again in the same way…whew! But, it just isn’t all about the sex. There was a connection between Kasey and Gram that was both loving and passionate. I really loved them. Although, I know that Kasey will have a hard road to tow, the end result and the happiness with Gram he will receive will make him believe he made the right decision. After all, happiness is worth fighting for.

Dean had a crush on Jay's sister April, and followed her like a lost puppy for years. April never returned the first love feelings for Dean, but instead became friends with him instead. Because April and Jay are very close, they have always been package deal for Dean.
Jay has been in love with Dean since he was a boy. He knew he would never hold a place in Dean's heart or bed. Dean is not only in love/lust with his sister, but he is also VERY straight so Jay knows he has no chance of ever having the relationship he dreams of having with Dean.
When Dean goes off for college and returns several years later he is determined to at least kiss April to let her know his feelings and what she has been missing. Ever since he has known April, Dean has been obsessed with April's long mahogany hair. It is one of the things he finds most attractive about her. When he spots her from behind, he whirls her around and plants a passionate kiss on her. When he discovers to his surprise that it is not April, but Jay who he has kissed he doesn't know how to react. Being Dean and wanting to keep his womanizing and bad ass reputation, he laughs it off.
Several years later, Dean is taking over his father's mechanic shop. He and Jay have become better friends and April is always in the wings somewhere. Jay is still in love with Dean. April continues to have no desire for Dean, and Dean is starting to become confused by his growing attraction to Jay. (He never forgot the passionate kiss he shared with Jay)
I really liked this story. There were times I wanted to strangle Dean. But, there are things we find out about him throughout the book that makes us realise that there is alot more to him that meets the eye. He does the most emotional growth throughout the book. He is a straight man who literally falls in love, and lust with Jay...despite his best efforts not to.
Dean is by far not a perfect hero. He is surly, overbearing and downright grouchy and arrogant at times. There were points in the storyline where I thought Jay needs to be nominated for sainthood for sticking it out with him. Not to say that Jay is really a push over, but he is so in love with Dean he at the beginning of their sexual relationship becomes a little submissive to keep Dean in his life. He soon learns that he not only wants to be equal partners with Dean not just be a doormat.
I loved Jay. He would be so easy to fall in love with. Sweet, sexy and smart no wonder Dean couldn't resist him. I even liked the secondary characters in this book. Actually this book kept my attention throughout reading it. There was no internet surfing, or being easily distracted while I read it. The ending is VERY satisfying and I can't wait to read the next book continuing Jay and Dean's story this weekend.
If you are offended by light bondage, M/M sexual intercourse, dirty words and a gay for you lovestory this book is not for you. Thank goodness I have a dirty mind because this book was right up my alley and I loved every minute of it...:)

Sebastian Keller is going to kill Dylan Radamacher. As the owner of a travel book shop, Sebastian’s life was quiet and easy until Dylan’s tattoo shop moved next door. Between the loud music and the feeling that Dylan thinks he’s some kind of joke, Sebastian feels like he’s being pushed over the edge of reason. What’s worse is the Sebastian finds himself caring about what the laid back and sexy tattoo artist thinks of him, which makes the straight laced Sebastian resent Dylan even more.
Dylan has been fascinated by Sebastian from the moment he has laid eyes on him. He knows that Sebastian often gets frustrated by the ongoing shenanigans at the shop, but hopes that he and Sebastian can become on friendly terms. Actually if Dylan had his way, he and Sebastian would be more than friends, and since Sebastian has been the star of some of his favorite dreams lately, Dylan becomes determined to pursue Sebastian.
Sebastian won’t know what hit him.
I’m not getting too much into the storyline. I will say that both Dylan and Sebastian are more complex characters than what meets the eye. I also liked the “don’t judge a book by its cover” undertone to the story. I admit both Dylan and Sebastian won my heart. I loved them!
There isn’t a tremendous amount of angst in this book. There is come miscommunication, and some self-esteem issues because of past hurts, but otherwise it’s a pretty easy and smooth read.

Throw in some humor, pretty face-paced storyline and some shapeshifting characters that have some hot chemistry together, and well I am in Heaven!
Emma has always felt like an outcast. She and her best friend Becky partner in a trinket story called "Wallflowers" and both women have always been accused of being somewhat eccentric in the town they live in.
Emma has never felt like a raving beauty. She is considered too short, too overweight (by today's standards) and somewhat bossy. Although, she has dated...no one holds her heart and desire like her childhood crush and local heart throb Max Cannon. He has just returned to town after several years of absence causing a stir of excitment with all of the females. Emma always admires him from afar, no man has ever measured up to him, his loyality, his kindness, his fairness toward others and his definate sex appeal.
Max Cannon is a shapeshifting puma. He has returned to take his rightful leadership as head of his pack. Successful and handsome, he often gets tired of the overwhelming attention that gets sent his way. When he overhears Emma's sultry commanding voice on a phone call with his best friend, he is immediately drawn to her. Although he remembers her as someone who was more of a "wallflower" in high school, he decides to check out the source of her sexy voice first hand.
When Max and Emma meet again, he knows she is his mate. The attraction they have for one another is immediate, and he quickly claims her to be his mate... but, there are others that do not want them to be together and will do anything to stop it.
The rapport between Emma and Max had me laughing out loud at times. She accepts the fact he is a shapeshifter and to be with him, she must be one too, VERY easily. That was kind of refreshing...maybe not realistic, but refreshing.
I really enjoyed this book! It was funny, sexy and had some great characters. A great read for someone who wants a lighthearted, not to serious read.
If you are offended by dirty word and explict sex, this book is not for you.

I honestly believe that to fully grasp the relationship between Biton and Cavan you should read the first book...Thirty Days, first.
Cavan has been in therapy for four months. Although he continues to have nightmares of his abuse, he has never felt more secure, safe and loved before. Cavan is anxious about the upcoming trial and continues to have worries about Biton's intentions with their relationship. He knows that Biton has said he cares, but lives in fear that Biton will find him too much trouble and want him to leave.
Biton never thought he would love someone like he loves Cavan. Although he will never forget the partner he lost, his feelings for Cavan grow stronger each day. Cavan's strength to get better and to prosecute the abuser makes Biton proud and determined to help his lover heal.
But, there are problems the couple must work through. Continued legal problems that make Cavan and Biton make a very difficult decision, and the therapist that Cavan has been seeing, thinks that the nature of Biton and Cavan's relationship (or any other couple living the BDSM lifestyle) is sick and is trying to put a wedge between them.
I loved this couple. They have many problems to overcome, but their love conquers all!(less)

I had actually read Knowing Caleb when it first came out. Since I try to read most books twice before I rate them, I put it on the backburner until I got around reading it again.
I have to be honest and say that out of the Hawkins brothers and of course, ReneCade, this was my least favorite book. I have no good explanation why because I really liked Jake and Caleb both as characters. Both are men who are noble, strong, and loyal and have way too many skeletons in their closets.
I don't know if I just got tired of Jake wallowing over Krista's death and refusing any kind of happiness with Caleb, or Caleb thinking he wasn't good enough for Jake because of his sordid past. Maybe I just got tired of them doing too much worrying and refusing to accept each other instead of allowing it to happen until the very end.
I still liked this book. I love the Hawkins series. ReneCade and Fallen are books I read over and over again. This might be one reason why I was disappointed in it, because I loved the other two so much. I know that most people loved Jake and Caleb as much as the other brothers, so my opinion will not be a popular one.
It was still a great series and I'm glad it ended with a happy ending. All of the Hawkins brother's deserved that.

As soon as she releases a book, I immediately buy it. Her characters are always well written, likable and oh so sexy.
Jake Ramora has a reputation of for being a bad boy. His love 'em and leave 'em attitude has been the crutch he has needed to keep the wall he has carefully built around his heart intact. Even with his careless attitude and flirty ways he is is obvious he is keeping a deep buried hurt and betrayal that he can't seem to get over. Just when things seem to be going his way professionally, he runs into his teenaged first love and best friend Kane Sharp moves back into town, Jake is faced with dealing with his demons and past betrayal.
Kane Sharp knows he must right the wrongs he has put upon Jake. He knew when he ran into Jake again, that the old feelings and attraction he and Jake had for one another would blossom again. He hopes that Jake will not only stop running from the past, but be able to find forgiveness in his heart.
I don't want to give up too much on the storyline. You will definately understand why Jake is so hurt and afraid to let anyone into his heart again. On the other hand, it is also easy to understand Kane's side of the story. Often when we are young we make many mistakes and wrong decisions. Even when we are deeply in love sometimes our own self-preservation comes first even if it hurts the one we love the most.
This series was wonderful! I encourage anyone who loves a well written sexy romance to read it. It would be a great way to get into the M/M romance-erotic genre. It starts out with Man Candy...which is Jake's twin brother, Logan, and Aaron's relationship. There is also a short novella called Candy Man which gives a funny and sexy look into Logan and Aaron's relationship at Halloween.
I loved this book and can't recommend these books any higher if you are looking for a great series romance.
