He's gorgeous, a true gentleman and hell bent on getting what he wants - Lydia. I really warmed to Lydia too. She's nice, caring and even though she needs a little rescuing to begin with she has morals and principals that just made me like her even more.
I really enjoyed Let it Burn and it was so addictive I read it in two sittings. It had all the feels a good book needs, the emotion the heat and the way it left me smiling. Can't wait for Emily's next book!(less)
‘That had to be the most embarrassing journey ever,’ Elle complained, tugging at the tee-shirt Gem designed.
Ciara grinned at her friend’s mortified expression. ‘I think they’re cute.’
‘See? Someone appreciates my talents,’ Gem said.
The printed tee-shirts were white, tight fitting, had deep ‘v’ necks with ‘Geeks go Greek’ printed across their busts in a groovy, neon pink font.
‘Thank god we’re here. Now I can get into my bikini,’ Elle said, pointing along the dirt road they were being driven down by the Muir’s driver.
After seeing the Land Rover waiting for them at the airport, she’d worried that the next of the Muir’s properties was going to be some shack in the middle of nowhere or something, but she hadn’t been prepared for this.
The house – if she could call it that – which Elle pointed to, was massive. It seemed to have six levels, each one backing up on the mountain like a staircase and ending with a huge raised patio over the beach. There was a hot tub, swimming pool and a stone area centred by the biggest dining table she’d ever seen.
Looked like Santorini was going to be another luxury trip.
‘Wow, is that your granddad’s yacht?’ Gem asked as they got closer.
To the side there was a pier stretching into the clear blue sea, a boat with more multi-levels, a group of jet skis hooked to a buoy further out, and a shed that could fit ten dorm rooms, easily.
‘That’s a yacht?’ Ciara asked. It looked more like a ship to her.
‘Yes, but don’t get any ideas. I haven’t a clue how to sail it even if I’d go near the sea.’ Elle shuddered. ‘The water’s disgusting.’
It looked gorgeous to Ciara – all blue, clear and shimmering in the sun. She couldn’t wait to go for a dip.
‘Anyway, I have so many treatments and massages booked that we won’t even need to leave the house,’ Elle said.
The thing was huge, no doubt about it. But, still. She didn’t want to be cooped up in the thing for over a week. ‘Why don’t we hire a car and see more of the island?’
‘I’m not doing anything until I get this tee-shirt off and catch some sun,’ Elle protested.
Gem scowled at her. ‘I’ll come with you, Ciara. Just as soon as I’ve unpacked.’ (less)

‘I don’t think that’s what she needs, Gem.’ Elle reached into her purse and pulled out a couple of notes, then left them on the table. ‘But I have an idea.’
Oh hell, what now? Her mind was too busy churning through the possibilities that she didn’t even moan at Elle for paying the bill.
‘Where are we going?’ Gem asked when Elle picked up her bags.
‘You’ll see. I didn’t waste all that effort getting us into Le Baron for Ciara to wear a face like that all night.’
‘Thanks Elle,’ she murmured dryly. Then something clicked. ‘Wait, isn’t that the private club the Russian mafia lords drink in?’
She’d googled the night life in Paris before her shopping trip to try and figure out what to buy with her vouchers, and La Baron was one of the clubs she remembered, just not for the right reasons.
Elle laughed. ‘It used to be, but it’s under new management now. Relax.’
‘So why did it take so much effort to get in?’ she asked as they started off down the street.
‘Because it’s private. And exclusive. I want to go. Obviously.’
There really was no stopping her friend when the chin tilt appeared so she sighed and gave in for the moment. It didn’t take Elle long until they got to their destination and Ciara couldn’t stop her chin from dropping. Two windows showcasing sleek, black dresses would have been enough to stop her in her tracks, but above that and the door a black metal balcony with gold letters stunned her.
Elle was taking them to Givenchy, knowing how much Ciara loved the black dress she borrowed from Elle for a spring dance a few years before. But this was just cruel. Taking her to a shop that she couldn’t even afford a scarf in.
‘Come on,’ Elle said, pulling her toward the door.
‘I can’t go in there.’ She tried to wrestle her arm back.
‘You’re going alright. Gem, get her other arm!’ (less)

In the one bar they’d found with air conditioning, Elle had fluttered her eyelashes and gotten them table service, which meant they didn’t have to brave the crowds of perspiration to get a drink.
When the bar tender brought them the next round, he handed Elle a sheet. ‘For you, angel.’
Ciara grinned. ‘You seem to be attracting a lot of tweens on this holiday.’
‘Shut up!’ Elle said. ‘Anyway it’s not his number.’
‘Lemme see.’ Gem grabbed the piece of laminated paper. The excited glint in her eyes had Ciara on edge.
‘We’re so entering!’ Gem said.
‘My thoughts exactly,’ Elle agreed.
Oh no, what had they planned this time. ‘Entering what?’
Gem slapped the sheet down in front of her.
Ciara’s first reaction was to laugh. They couldn’t be serious, a drinking game? They’d get ploughed by the regulars. But then she saw the grand prize being offered to the group still standing. A limited edition Gucci beach bag – masterfully crafted, the most beautiful thing she’d seen with baby pink leather. And it was practical too. But that meant…
‘We’re entering,’ Elle said. ‘I want that bag.’
Ciara quickly scanned the rules. Everyone in the group entering had to buy a massive jug of either mojito or Caipirinha. The first table to finish and still be standing would get the bag – and possibly alcohol poisoning.
Of all the stupid things to do...
‘I’ll get a mix and we can share,’ Gem said, leaping off her chair.
‘Wait,’ Ciara grabbed her arm. ‘Have you two lost it completely?’
‘Dear Ciara,’ Elle said on a sigh. ‘Gucci is calling. And anyway, we’re newly ex students and we have an Irish girl on our side. This will be a walk in the park!’
‘Or a trip to the emergency room to have our stomachs pumped,’ she argued. (less)

‘Can I help you?’ he asked.
Thank goodness he was fully dressed this time. She didn’t think she’d be able to force words out if he was still sweaty and half naked.
‘I don’t know what’s what up here.’ Keeping her mouth shut and staring at him like an eejit would have been better than what came out. Instead of Maths she should have studied English. Or taken a course in how not to behave around gorgeous men she couldn’t have.
He cocked an eyebrow. ‘What’s what?’
‘You know, which room’s taken? Elle said you have the master suite.’
Great, now her palms were as sticky as her face. So much for everything the girls had taught her about being a woman. She was sweating buckets and getting tongue tied over a man who looked at her like he thought she was about to clear out with all his cash.
Zack closed his eyes and shook his head. ‘That’s Elly all over. She shoots her mouth off without checking the facts. They’re all empty. I’m in my room down stairs. Take your pick.’
‘Okay, thanks.’ She turned before she said something that would paint her cheeks scarlet, caught her toe beneath the cement filled case and took a not-so-graceful nosedive into the floor, cursing like a trucker all the way.
Luckily she caught herself before she cracked her skull but she’d never live the shame of this one down. With her bikini covered bum – hopefully cellulite free – in the air and Zack now on his knees at her side, she’d be quite happy to have knocked herself a good one so she didn’t have to face him. Others have given you an idea of the plot and I don’t want to spoil anything as this book has so many twists, turns and surprises which kept me glued to the pages which is definitely best experiencing first hand.
Nick is my kind of hero. He’s alpha, he can be harsh when he needs to be, sometimes brutal even but there’s a very great reason for it. I wanted to take him home and … fix him.
Anna is the woman I want to be. She’s tough as nails, intelligent, witty and a lot of her internal monologue had me in stitches (laughing out loud).
There’s a deep connection between these two protagonists, a really emotional reunion (after the minefield of explosions along the way) and the whole thing had me gripped throughout –particularly the last half of the book which I stayed up past my bedtime, unwilling to put it down and fearing for both their fates.
I don’t read a lot of suspense, but I really, really enjoyed this. It had all the feels and dragged out all the emotions a great book does. If you’re on the fence, I’d definitely recommend you give this a go. (less)

Best Fake Day is as breath-taking, funny and as sensual as Daring to Wish, with more twists and turns. Fast paced, page turning and heart-stopping, there’s never a dull moment in this book!
Now I thought there was no hotter hero than Lucas from Tracey’s debut, but I stand corrected. Jack’s every bit the tortured alpha who thinks he wants retribution for his crappy childhood and instead finds the family he thought turned him away and so much more. If only he’ll let those people in, that is.
Izzy is a wonderful heroine who I would happily be best friends with. She’s grounded, quirky and funny – a nice change from Jack’s single minded seriousness. Both of them and Izzy’s sister grew up together and Izzy had a major crush on him, only when he turns up on her doorstep asking her to marry him that girlie crush turns to full blown desire.
I highly recommend this steamy, sensual and heart-warming read. Perfect to beat the depressing January chill over the head with! (less)

Luca was sweet and yummy underneath the hard, sometimes brutal exterior, although he more than makes up for everything and the different povs mean we can see he really has a heart of gold under all that ruthless business man exterior. Oh, and did I mention sexy?
Daniella had my respect and sympathy from early on, though don't be fooled! She's no weak door mat heroine! She's sassy, has plenty of backbone and a strong desire for independence. She'll need it to stand up to Luca.
I read Revenge in Rio in a few hours, unable to put it down for longer than a few minutes. The author has packed one hell of an emotional roller coaster into this steamy little book that I for one will save on my keepers list. Brilliant job, can't wait for the next one.(less)
