THE RUN-DOWN Graylee Perez is a witch and after dying mysteriously in her sleep she wakes up two months later in the body of her twin sister... Turns out that Graylee's mom tried to bring her daughter back to life but didn't specify how she wanted her daughter back. So now Graylee and her sister, Charlene, both share the same body. With Graylee taking over every other day. But of course she can't be herself! Graylee is dead, right? So Graylee's stuck living Charlene's life which closely resembles a soap opera. Graylee will do anything to get her body back, but how can she do that when she's already deaf\d?
MY THOUGHTS This was a really quick read, I finished it in only a few hours! Is that a bad thing? HECK NO! In fact, the main reason why it was a quick read was because the story was so interesting, I couldn't stop reading it! And for those of you that don't know, INTERESTING = GOOD! Anyway, I loved the idea of the story! I know, that's the reason why most people pick up a book (the other way being by the cover which also got me to read this book). But you could read a book with an interesting synopsis and end up hating it! With this book though it had an interesting synopsis and an interesting story! The difference between the one I hated and this book? This book actually created the story and caught my attention. While the other book only told the story making the story...boring. (Hopefully i'm making sense!)
IN CONCLUSION: You see those stars up there? That is not a bad rating! Those stars mean that I liked it.In fact, I liked it enough that it was almost amazing! (and the almost is not a bad thing either). So do I recommend this book? Yes....more

THE RUN-DOWN This book takes place months after the events in Ashfall. Alex and Darla are perfectly fine at Uncle Paul's farm. Sure, it's not like it was back before the supervolcano but they're surviving. At least the were doing fine... until a few bandits came along and tried to kidnap Alex's cousins. And one of the bandits just so happened to have a gun with blue flowers on it. The same gun that Uncle Paul gave to Alex's dad... Worried about his parents, Alex (and Darla) go off to find them. Again. But ,of course, it won't be easy.
WHAT I THOUGHT I LOVED Ashfall! And this book was just as great! Alex and Darla do not just go find his parents and come right back to the farm, right? THAT WOULD BE BORING!! And so what we have here was all this twists and turns occurring, all these surprises, AND IT ALL MADE SENSE!! In this book there were often parts where all these bad things happened back to back. Usually in a book, this would annoy me. But like I said before, IT ALL MADE SENSE!! If the Apocalypse occurred everything wouldn't be all happy and dandy, right? (if you said yes to that you really need to rethink things) So all these bad things happening made the book completely realistic! And this book is realistic, all of these things could actually happen! IN CONCLUSION: This was an amazing book and i'm really looking forward to the next book! XD...more

IThis book seemed really random and a big jumbled up mess! (that's not good) But what I really want to say is this... You know that synopsis up there? I don't think that it's a very good synopsis. It mentions the television people like that's what the book is about but it's not! Sure, they're in there but all they are is just people in the background while Morganville is erupting in chaos! Although, this book was really really random. It had probably 10 things going on at once! So I can kinda understand why the synopsis doesn't work but... I just had to point that out....more

But the cover wasn't the problem, the problem was... the title. "The Raven Boys" I don't know if it was just me, but for some reason that made me think that the book was about ravens... that are boys. I found that weird, odd, and not very interesting.
But I kept seeing this book on Goodreads so I decided to see what was such a big deal. As it turns out, this book is not about ravens that are boys! It's about ghosts, a dead guy, and the hunt for the mysterious! (It's honestly very hard to explain what the book is about if you haven't read the book)
The strange thing is, there is NO ROMANCE in this book! Based on the synopsis you would think there would be romance... "For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die." Sure, this might become more important further on in the series but this book seems to be more about what I will call "the hunt for the mysterious".
This book was an interesting read. But it was also confusing, there seemed to be a lot of parts that made no sense and parts that you might think are pointless but actually end up having a point. I know this makes no sense but there were a lot of times in the book where I had no idea what the heck was going on and my expression was a lot like this...

I'm not saying it was terrible (because it wasn't!) it just disappointed me...
There was only one thing in the book that bothered me. Everything else I liked! But I didn't like THE ROMANCE!! This became a problem because... That romance? Yeah, it plays a major part in the book!!! I found the romance fake and absolutely could not understand what they saw in each other!
When the books started out, I loved it! I thought I was walking into a new favorite! But then... the romance came in. It started out slowly... I disliked the romance but I could look around it, I was fine with it. But that romance blurred everything else. It practically forced me to look into it's face! "Look at me! You despise me! I shall torture you and make you dislike this book!"
Okay, okay... I'm making less and less sense as i'm going along. My point: I didn't like the romance.
Although I must say this... I will be reading BOOK 2! But i'm trying not to get my hopes up about it......more

As you could probably tell by the cover (or maybe the synopsis) this book takes place around Christmas time. This book was just so awesome that I completely thought that is was Christmas time (as in winter break, since it would have been obvious that it wasn't Christmas. Even though there are Christmas trees in my living room...in October). But the point is, I THOUGHT IT WAS CHRISTMAS TIME!! And I forgot it was a Saturday and messed the new episode of the only T.V. show I watch (Doctor Who). BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS CHRISTMAS TIME!!! What my time mind is trying to say is that THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!! But... IT ENDED WAY TOO SOON!!! I actually stared at that last blank page for about 5 minutes wondering... "Where are the words?! What happened next?! I NEED TO KNOW!!!!" It took quite awhile for me to realize that no words will magically appear if I stare at it...
And that, my friend, is why I only gave this book 4 stars (and may or may not have had a nervous breakdown)
I apologize to those pour souls that read this....more

THE RUN DOWN In the last book Gwen was tricked into freeing the evil mastermind, Loki. Now? Gwen is arrested for freeing Loki. To them (as in the people that arrested her) she is a Reaper and fully intended to free him. NOT ONLY THAT but she is blamed for the deaths at the museums! She is blamed for everything SHE TRIED TO STOP! So what will happen if she's found guilty? Well, she'll be sentenced to death...
MY THOUGHTS You probably don't know this but... I'm a coward. If I were in Gwen's situation, I would just sit in a corner and accept death. BECAUSE I'M A COWARD. But do you think Gwen did that? Did she sit in that corner? HECK NO!! She frexing stood up and tried to get people to know the frexing truth!
Let me just say that this book put me through such an emotional roller coaster ride. There were moments when I was close to tears, moments where I wanted to stab someone with a breadstick, and moments where I felt like dancing around my living room with happiness. And I like it when a book makes me feel emotion!
So, I really really liked this book. I'm very tempted to give it 4 stars but... All the other books in the series got 3 stars and it would be really unfair of me to give this book more! So let's just say that this book got 3.9 stars XD ...more

This book was about Ellie who took a trip to Norway along her brother, Graham, and her brother's best friend, Tucker, to visit her Grandma. Turns out not everything is all happy and dandy in Norway. Boys are disappearing and for some odd reason Ellie's Grandma is getting blamed for the attacks. When she encounters one of these "kidnappings" first hand she begins to question what's really going on here. And after her brother it's victim to one of the kidnappings... she'll do whatever it takes to get him back.
Like I said, this was a good book. Some moments seemed fake and a little bit random but the concept was so intriguing that it made up for it! So if you like intriguing concepts (i'm pretty sure that most of you do) then you will most likely like this book! So this was an interesting read! Do I recommend it? sure!...more
