My first published short story is here as well as very good selections by wonderful authors. Some of the contributors here are published already while most are aspiring and unknown writers. A great pick for lovers of literature and some fast reading.(less)

The poems are title-less and each poem seem like a prose poem or a flash fiction, little anecdotes and thoughts and perhaps dreams by the author that are captured in one flowing torrent of beautiful words and images.
What I hated about this is the poems have no recognizable titles so I am forced to list my most favorite poems by their page numbers. But this almost a joke because I don;t really care if they have no titles. They become more appealing that way because it made me more focused to absorb and remember my favorite lines. This book seems like the first edition of Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman where the whole book seems like one tremendous epic poem. What I love to do with it is to 'hopscotch' within the pages (inspired by Julio Cortazar's Rayuela or Hopscotch). Just open a page and read an extract of a poem, rather than reading it from the beginning to the end. I like reading poetry books this way, especially if I have the real book but for ebooks, I would have to read it from start to finish because that is the easiest to do.
Get a copy of this. This is the first poetry book i saw in this style. The eloquence of Cyril Wong's poetry is astounding and even disturbing because it is too good for me. He is a very big influence on my current style of poetry.
I will forever be a reader of this author. I have proven that each of his book I read is a rewarding experience.

Told in quirky and colloquial language, it is the story of Dave, a young bright gay boy. We see his life from childhood and how he grew up to be a smart promiscuous teenager. I can really relate to the story of Dave. Like him, I was extremely whorish. I have no qualms with mating with men. The only difference is that unlike Dave, I do not go to gay bars often. I also love getting cock inside me all the time while Dave is more on sucking and foreplay. While Dave was very careful when having sex, I was so reckless and rash. No wonder I contracted HIV.
The book follows Dave as he met guys who changed his life. He finally met Ross, a handsome Piolo Pascual look-alike whom he fell in love with. Their love story is worth a thousand words. It made me yearn to meet someone whom I can call Kuya (older brother) and who will call me Bunso (youngest sibling/child). Like what Dave and Kuya Ross shared, I want a love that will transcend everything, including disease and death. Being an HIV positive young man, I also want to find someone who will love me in spite of the virus inside me. I want someone who can love me truly and without expecting anything in return.
If I were only more educated about this virus and other STDs like Dave, I could have taken care of myself better. I could have been living a disease-free life. Although I have read this book when I was in college, years before my diagnosis, I never really internalized the story. Yes, I enjoyed it a lot, but my love for sex was a greater influence in my life. I am not saying that this book is ineffective in delivering its message regarding HIV/AIDS awareness and safe sex. It's just that I was unquestionably debauched and decadent. I only followed my own will. I did not take care of myself better because all I cared about was to get fucked and inseminated with loads of jizm.
I love the language, the color, the very interesting and lovable characters, the 'kilig' and the 'awwww' factor it gives me every time I read it. I must have read this like 5 times and I never get tired of it. I might read this book again soon and I think I will read this with a new perspective as someone living with HIV/AIDS. I laughed, I cried, I felt inspired all the time I read this book. And I know I will always continue to feel this way every time I read it.
Discovering this book is a life changing experience! This book made me want to be a writer. Although the English version seeks out to more people, the Filipino is by far superior to it. We are the lucky ones, mga pinoy! This book is a big help and inspiration to all us, especially to gay men and to the ones affected and inflicted by HIV/AIDS. Truly a revolutionary work of literature that must be cherished forever. I hope more HIV/AIDS related literature in the Philippines will follow and also I hope more gay men will have the courage to take their pens and just write.
Louie Mar made me write because I want to share what I feel. I am greatly indebted to him! I thank him so much and because of this unforgettable masterpiece, my life was forever changed. Because of the inspiration this book and dear Louie Mar gave me, I finally can call myself a writer.(less)

The last one which I definitely loved as much as this was The Story of the Eye and Supervert's Necrophilia Variations. But this one is far more intense than the other two! Gay cannibal and necrophiliac serial killers! What more can I ask for???
As you know, I am an avid fan of gay serial killers, cannibals and necrophiliacs. I love reading about them. My favorites are Jeffrey Dahmer and Armin Meiwes definitely. I even made a whole poetry book dedicated to them called That is how sick and twisted I am. I fancy myself being a serial killer sometimes or have a lover who is a serial killer. Maybe I would try some cannibal and necrophiliac stuff too. I do not know. This is very much appealing to me.
I know you are thinking right now, "Man, this boy is a weirdo!" You have the option to report me to the police or send for the nearest psychiatric institution to lock me down. But fortunately, these are just my fantasies. I just really am very attracted to the idea of being in love with someone so much that you would actually kill them or eat them or even have sex with their dead bodies. I know this is really illicit and immoral for some, but I like seeing the beauty and romance in these concepts.
The novel is such a treat because it describes really tormented minds. I love the graphic descriptions of sex, violence and gore as if they are the most common things in the world. I remembered American Psycho as I read this but that book is less appealing to me because the main character was straight. I would love my serial killers to be gay and highly promiscuous. I kinda can sympathize with them, as well as I see my own dark soul in the way Brite wrote this book. This is such an easy read for me and I am very happy I finally found a copy after many months of searching for one. This is like a dream come true for me and I hope I can write a book as good and chilling as this.
To be honest, I have not finished the book yet but I love this book so much that I am writing it as early as now. I wish I could find more books like this. Serial killers have always a place in my heart. Though I do not support them, I think they are very interesting characters. (less)

I am in love with this book! I cannot comprehend how much I love this inanimate object. Maybe it is a form of necrophilia itself, loving a book made out of dead leaves and pulp. I cannot stop reading this book. Sometimes I force myself to literally stop this book from taking over my mind. I read this book like the Bible, only some parts at a time because I wanna savor everything it has to offer me. I have never loved a book like this. I always want to have some quiet time with this book and just read it, fantasizing about the necrophile thingies that it describe and just feel tremendous orgasms rippling all over my body. I think I am a certified necrophile and this book definitely fed my insanity and favorite fetish. I would love to meet Supervert, kiss him and let him do stuff on me because I simply love him so much. He actually sent me this book because I am such a desperate whore!
Anyway, just to give you an idea why I am so in love with this book, I am a frustrated necrophile. i love death and I find beauty in its gore and violence, and also in its peace and regal aura. I love being strange and weird but definitely, necrophilia is one of my most favorite secret joys in life. I do not do it per se, I just love reading about it and fantasizing of actually doing it for I do not think i can really do it in real life. I even made a whole book of necrophiliac poetry because I love it so much.
That is why reading this book is such a life-changing rare moments I have in my life. I am so thankful that someone with the intellect and enough twisted mind decided to write a gem like this!!! I feel so proud to have a copy because I do not think many people have this in my country. I think I am the only one, maybe. But what I am proud is I love it. I will continue to love it and will forever love it because literary-wise, the book is well-written! Very engaging, filled with with and humor and of course, creativity abounds. I cannot comprehend that a mind like this exist still! This is like a friendly 120 Days of Sodom.
Supervert, if you are reading this, please be my angel. I want you to become my master because I would gladly be a slave to a writer with this capabilities. =P You can send me your other books too if you want and I will love them and be grateful to you forever.
Enough of this for now. I am actually writing this review and I am just half-way the book. I am actually so afraid of finishing it because in my own twisted way, I want to feed on the book every now and then, because a story or two is enough to make me go into spasms. (less)

I love this series so much and the movie was so damn fun! The movies gave justice to the book and I can even say they made it so much better. I hope all the movies and books by this writer will progress forever. Can't wait for a new one! I so love this series. I saved all my money just to buy this series and it was so worth it. In fact I do not even like buying books in a series but this made me so happy that i just wanted more. I hope though that the series will end with Last Watch because I rather read individual and stand alone books by this author.
By the way, Day Watch the movie is not any related to the book. The basis for the movie Day Watch is the second novella of Night Watch with only some parts from the Day Watch book.
I love all the concept of this series. The battle between the Light and Dark Others are supreme. i love the way they trick each other into doing good or bad so that the other can do what they want. I also love the concept of the different levels of Twilight. In fact, I love everything in this series. It is speculative, sci-fi, fantasy, mythopoeic, everything good about a novel. Way to go!
As for this book, I think this is the best of all four. I learned a lot about Merlin. it is full of intrigue, wonderful scenes, intelligent parts and a lot more! I cannot wait for the next installment which according to what I read, will be released in Russia this MAY 2012. The English translation may take a year. I so love this series!!! I hope I can meet Sergei. I wanna make a Manila version of this series, like a fanfiction, if he would allow me. I'll try to contact this wonderful writer and I hope his other books will be translated into English as well.(less)
I am a poet, and I firmly believe that only another poet can understand the messages of a poet he is reading. Although you are an avid reader of poetry, or you read it leisurely, there is really a big difference if you yourself is a poet making a critique of another poet's book of poetry.
Thankfully I am. And I can say that receiving the book Transmissions to the Mystic Nebula today earlier this morning was the highlight of my day. Maybe even the best thing that happened for me for like two weeks.
I love this book! I love it so much that I wanna meet Christopher and offer myself as his mentee, or his concubine, or whatever will work. His book is full of wonderful metaphors and expressive lines that can be compared to a bottle of perfume. Small, and yet if you open even the tiniest bit, an otherwordly fragrance will exude out of the bottle that will make everyone feel light and warm. That is how I felt while reading this poetry book. They are exquisitely-written. There is so much wisdom and intelligence in his poetry. The theme is the universe, particularly, space. The universe filled with stars, suns, nebulae and all galactic features. Aside from that, it also speaks of mundane things. Well, it must be so since we are also part of the universe itself.
What I like about this book is that I feel smart while I read it. He uses academic terms and scientific concepts with ease and they are all laid out in a very accessible and readable way that even a simple reader will appreciate. Although I think, some may still have to use a dictionary. However, do not be stopped by that. You will not regret picking up this book. Make sure to spend some quiet time with it because it is so beautiful that it will calm you. I just had this book for a few hours only and I already read the whole book twice. And I am ready to read it one more time. The only other writer who made me feel this way with a poetry book is my beloved friend, the celebrated gay Singaporean poet Cyril Wong. I also can feel some similarities with Rumi, the famous Persian mystic poet. Well, the title has the word mystic so it really has to be that. And Christopher definitely pulled it off.
Now, I have a new idol. I rarely read male poets, especially heterosexual ones because I do not think I can relate with their grand themes for I am a lover of personal, confessional, homoerotic poems. But this book made me smile. And green with envy. Now I wanna write a similar book like this because it really haunted me in a good way, as if a benevolent spirit is on my shoulder, watching me while I read.
What I admire too is that this is self-published. Now I am more engulfed with passion to self-publish my book too and share the world my poetry. This book really inspires me to do it, since this is the first self-published poetry book that I have read in my experience as a poet. i will definitely treasure this book which is lovingly dedicated to me by the poet himself with a curt but inspirational message.
I am not exaggerating. As you know, I am addicted to reading poetry because I myself is a poet and I learn more and more about poetry and how to write it by reading other poetry books and studying poets who are already famous and those poets who are self-published or virtually unknown. In my experience, the best poets I have read are those who has no books yet and are only writing poetry out of pleasure or whenever the spirit of poetry possess them. I enjoy independent poets. They make the best book of poems and their themes usually are out of this world. There are few established poets that I love and they are worth mentioning too but not in this review.
You know me guys, whenever I make a review as long as this, this is definitely good =P Trust me! Make sure you take some time to go get a copy soon!(less)

I would not review this but I would like to share some things about this book:
Sarsenet - A kind of very soft and fine silk. I chose this because it can also mean eloquence or skill with words. Which I would like to do with this book particularly. i want my poems to speak eloquently of taboo subjects, mix darkness with romance and eroticism.
Sarcophagus - you know what this means. But in Greek, it means flesh eater. Which is very symbolic for me. Plus, it is the shelter of corpses.
Basically, the title is very important with the whole concept of the book. (less)
