But I really wasn't all that into the characters. Missy was just to spoiled bratty for me most of the time. And god I kept hoping a t-rex made it over here from Jurassic Park to eat Ben. Yeah I said it. And Tate, poor Tate. All I could really do with her was just shake my head. There was a lot of eye rolling for this book. But it was actually well written. So besides the characters it wasn't all that bad. But yeah that's about all i have for this one. (less)

Ok so I finished this book over a week ago. I sat down to write this review more than once and every time I did, I would just go blank. So I got to sit down and reread this book. Which I was happy about because I remembered that i really liked this book. As I began my journey through this again, I had to stop and check and make sure this was the same book. And there I sat, shaking my head and asking myself, "What just happened?"
We meet Jenifer who is apparently just waking up on the wrong side of the bed. It is a definite Monday for her. First she's moody, there's a hot half naked stealing all her milk and then on her way to work she gets rear ended and spills her coffee all over her new shirt. I honestly feel this girls pain. Little did she know that, that little bump in the rear has just completely changed her life. Jeni, sweet sweet Jeni, what can I say about you? I loved her spunkiness and her clumsiness lol. But the "oh poor me" routine got old. I completely understand why she was like this, been there done that. But jeez give up on it for a bit. Her little fantasy zone out moments were great at first but then I started to wonder if maybe she had narcolepsy and should seek medical attention. Now on to Aiden. He is the one who helped in the little fender bender that brought these two together. They meet again at her job and it was instant swoonage on both parts. Now he was definitely all swoony and apparently has god like sex. But beside those qualities and the fact that he is very protective of Jeni, well there wasn't much else to him. When they first start seeing each other, he was kind of stalker like. He all told her he knew everything about her but he kept a lot of himself still secret. I think maybe he is still hiding something from her, not sure. But oh god, when these two got together I felt like I was in a teen movie. The ooey gooey lovey dovey text and the way they talked to each other, it was cute but in a teen way. I know he is 28, but how old is she? She really acts more like a 19 year old at times. Now the sex was pretty freakin' hot, if I do say so myself. I liked that stuff a lot lol.
I did like the story. Ok well actually the story was ok, but a little past halfway it got a lot better. The lead up to all the good stuff took a bit. There was some laughs, love, heartbreak and my favorite in it all was the mystery. I did hate that you may have already been given the answer to it all but I am hoping there may be a huge plot twist in the next book. As I read this book, I kept telling myself that something was wrong with the writing but it took me reading it a second time to realize what it was, This book is lacking flow. It was very choppy for me in the beginning, it really doesn't start to smooth out until about half way. Than after that, it got really good. I will say that I hated seeing Jeni broken again. You got to see her strengthen and grow to all of a sudden become this broken almost lifeless doll. I may of hated it but it completely fit the book and her character. And it did help a lot in the story. I was very torn with this book. The characters were lacking for me and the writing was so so. But I am telling you, the last few chapters and all that stuff that happened, well it hooked me. I seriously can not wait to read the next book in this series.

Oh how I liked this book, it made me giggle..a lot. Now let me tell you most likely the main reason why I liked this book, the sexual innuendos. Yep you read that right lol. I can't help it, part of my brain is a 15 year old boy. I bet 97.3% of the time,I can take anything you say and make it perverted. You can tell me about a marshmallow getting stuck to a wall and in my head I have already came up with 8 different ways to turn that all around. I should probably seek help for this little problem but I enjoy the entertainment.
So we start out by meeting Erik and from this man's first thought, I was already swooning. I found it cute how he tried to act all manly and not lu-lu(haha) whipped in front of his boy, even though I wanted to kick him for it. Own your actions man, own them! You come to find out that although he may be a playboy, there is a part of him that is struggling daily. I do feel like though, the author just barely skimmed the surface with him. I felt like she may have left out an important part of him. But I did like him, especially the caveman part. Sorry this woman likes some cavemen lol. He was just missing tattoos. So halfway through his introduction we meet Kat. Apparently these two shared a night of passion that has since stuck with Erik and after 13 months of looking for her, she is basically served to him on a silver platter. Now Kat, I liked the spunky side of her. She was funny and just seemed like a girl you would go have drinks with. And the simple fact that she was the one to hightail it the next morning after their first encounter made me want to hug her and buy her a cookie. The one thing I didn't like about her, was how easily she just put herself out there for Erik. I know she put up a little fight but I wish she would of held out some more. At times it almost seemed to rushed, maybe even forced between them. You do find out that the both of them have a troubled family life and that does help to bring them more together. And you eventually find out what past event has stained Erik's soul. Now I kind of get what his deal was. I really did like his determination to win Kat over, even though he thought that nothing would ever come put of it. So the big question is, did he win her over just to throw it all away? Did Kat ever let go of some of the hurts from her past and give herself the chance to live? Hmmmm?
As far as the story goes I enjoyed it. There was some humor, romance and a little heartache. I may have teared up a little in a couple of spots and also called Erik some ugly names in my notes. The only downside I found in this book was, to me it seemed like at times the author over did it with details. Three paragraphs later and she is still describing the entryway to the house. I appreciate some detail but ehh it seemed like to much for me. Oh the other thing, I didn't like was, Erik made it seem like that even after Kat that he dated but didn't sleep with anyone. But later you find out he did, while once again she became the born again virgin. For once I wish authors would reverse this role. But don't worry I am not holding this against her, I am just stating my opinion on the matter. I also thought the end was kind of blah, I couldn't believe that was it. I wanted more from them, more answers or something. But overall I really liked Erik and Kat, oh and lets not forget Little Bit and Grandpa! I really enjoyed the story, I honestly did bust out laughing a few times and considered going and getting a glass of ice water for those steamy parts. Whew! I can not wait to read the rest of this series.

I have been sitting here honestly flipping through stuff on my computer just trying to figure out what to say for this review. And trust me that doesn't happen a lot. Even if I claim that I don't know what to say, I usually do. But not this time, nope I jut kept trying to come up with something. And I am not saying that this book was in any way bad because it was good but it was just a book to me. It was nothing more, nothing less. And very few people know what to say about "just a book." So I am going to say what I can, the best I can.
I guess I will start with the characters. At first I thought I would like Gina, I mean she seemed to be a take no junk kind of chick and you don't always see that in these type of books. But the more I got to know her the more I just wanted her to take a chill pill and stop all the whining. I understand that this girl had something very tragic happen to two of her loved ones but eek, the way she was constantly flipping out on the poor hot guy was terrible. I felt bad for him. And that brings us to Kellen, the poor hot surfer guy. He is also suffering from a tragedy and of course like any damaged bad boy he is handling it with alcohol and numerous random girls. I seriously wish I could give him a cookie for having to deal with Gina. Anyways, so Gina is hired to fix Kellen's image after he gets into some trouble and from there, their rocky relationship starts. I honestly never really saw them as more than friends, I got no romantic warm and fuzzes when it came to them. Did they ever actually use the big "L" word? Did I miss that somewhere? So as far as the characters go I didn't like her and him I just pitied. Who wants to be with someone that is going to be constantly reminded of their murdered first love every time they look at you? Eesh.
So as I was saying, this to me was just a book. It's just there. The story wasn't bad, it did keep me intrigued though. I wanted to know the whole time what Gina's story was. You pretty much got Kellan's out of the way from the start, but her's you just had to wait for. Drove me nuts And when all the puzzle pieces finally fell in place, I was just like "eeh ok." The sex was luke warm to me and the romance was nada, I mean anytime you thought aww here we go, bam the crazy came out of the girl lol. I wished there would of been an epilogue also. What happened with them, we saw 2 months in and that was it. Did we have any surf babies? What happened with her brother Leo? Did Kellen take back to the waves? This book left me with no closure, sighhh. I still decided to give this book 4 stars because there wasn't a thing to give it 3.5. Great story idea even though there was no closure for me, I was disappointed with the characters and their relationship or lack there of. But I will say this, it was a great story idea and the parts that were good, were actually greaat. So hopefully that explains my rating.

What can I really say about this book? Honestly I thought the story idea was great, the synopsis grabbed my attention. I really couldn't wait to grab this and start reading. But sadly that's where it all ended. Now the book as a whole was about a 3 star for me. There was really nothing about it that grabbed me and made me want to hold on, it just kind of all went downhill from the beginning for me.
The characters weren't all that bad really. First we have Stella, ok I am not going to lie and say that every time I red her name I wasn't screaming "STELLA" in my head.. I honestly couldn't strop myself from doing it and when the bartender did it, I busted out laughing. She was basically your everyday woman struggling to make it in this big ol world. She wasn't the typical long legged statuesque blonde cover model either. And trust me this girl had some serious self esteem issues. She even admitted to being obsessed with a coworker because he seemed like the perfect guy, hell she had already named their kids lol. I liked her in parts of the story but sometimes she annoyed me. Second we have Cambell, the typical tall dark and handsome egotistical millionaire. I liked him best when he was drunk. He seemed to show actual personality then. Other times he was kind of dull. Well he was quite adorable when he was being sweet closer there to the end. Eventually they got their act together and he stopped saying all the wrong things and they got their HEA. But please, please let me point out that if a man tells you that he loves you for the first time while that is going on, well continue on like you never even heard him because that is just so not romantic ladies and gentlemen lol.
Now this story idea was truly a great idea but the execution of it was just all wrong. The story was just so choppy in areas and just kind of seemed jammed together in some places. It kind of almost resembles a 5 year old's macaroni art. You know the idea was great but when it's all said and done the end result is somewhat a cute little mess. I really think that the best part of this story was the end and please, I don't mean because it was over either. I mean in the last few pages it almost seemed like the author relaxed and the story actually started to flow some, it wasn't as bumpy. And here we are left with somewhat flat characters, mediocre sex scenes, there were a few laugh out loud moments, a great story idea and not so great story telling, My opinion and my opinion alone has led me to my 3 star rating. But like I always say, just because this wasn't the book for me doesn't mean it may not end up on your best book ever list.

This book was one heck of an emotional roller coaster, I think 90% of the time I had tears in my eyes though. Jeez this book needs to have a warning label on it. "WARNING: A box of tissue is required before you can start this book." Whew, I needed to take a breather during it a couple of times. And Oh my goodnessss, it drove me insane with questioning everything that was going on. Half the time I was just wanting some answers. I loved how the author just snuck them in there when you were least expecting it. And that is definitely one way to keep readers interested. I am quite sure I may have looked like one of those cartoon Characters with the question mark over my head all the time. If you can't tell I was fully involved in this story and found it quite amazing. Although it may have lulled(can I use that word here?) a little in a spot but I will add that it didn't stay like that for long, overall it really flowed well. And the build up to everything just kept me right on the edge of my seat, I just kept asking myself if this was "IT", if "IT" was finally happening? And sadly I wasn't really even sure what "IT" was but oh I was waiting for "IT". Lol. This was just really a great read.
As far as the characters go. I liked them all. At times I wanted to smack Arie and ask her what in the world was she thinking, but at the same time I was busy telling her that, no River was mine and go away lol. So I am totally Team River here, I love the name by the way. But back to Arie, it was neat to watch her finally become so strong after so much tragedy and it seems that that may not be over with yet. To stay together the way she did after so much was really amazing, I would of broke down way more times than she did. And oh, River. I have now added him to my harem of book boyfriends. He was just a doll. And no matter how much he hurt he still kept his promise and stayed with Arie. Love him. And then Ashe, ok I can see he has the hot mysterious guy thing going on but nope, I just couldn't pull for him. I know he did really prove his love for Arie but it just wasn't enough for me to side with him. Great story and great characters, what more could a girl ask for? I am so hoping there is more to this story because I have to know what happens now. So please, please tell me that there will be more.

This book was not anything like I expected. And which was actually a nice thing. I have been reading books lately that were so Alpha-male-love-me, it was great to take a break from. Anyways, so here we have Katrina a.k.a Tree. She was still in mourning from the loss of her husband four years earlier to really live her life. Don't get me wrong, she was living it but only for her little girl, Abby. She wasn't really living it for herself. Who could blame her? And here we have Adrian, with ghost of his past constantly haunting him also, he was also living the same as Tree. He never really stopped to smell the roses, just went through day to day with a drink in his hand. But a chance of some rather cute mistaken identity and a case of attempted homicide with shellfish an adorable love story was started.
It was nice watching these two kind of finally open up their eyes and take a look around and to look and see what was right in front of them. This book really digs deep and makes you actually open up and look into your own life. It was a little eye opening at times. Like I said, way different than what I am use to reading lately. It was nice to actually meet the reformed bad guy after he grew out of the bad. And was just trying to find his place in a new life. It warmed my heart. And once Tree faced her own ghost and finally started living for herself, she saw a lot more.
This book was good, I enjoyed it. At times though it did seem to get a little carried away with detail and gave us some useless information. Some detail and info can be good but when you have to much it can drown a story. I did get a little bored a few times and put the book down, so it definitely wasn't a stay up all night read for me. So with sex, drugs, rock-n-roll, shellfish, tattoos, a little heartbreak and a British accent, I would tell you to go ahead and pick the book up and check it out for yourself.
