If you have read her Black Knights, Inc. series, you will find this new series right up along the same line. The intensity, action, and mix of sexy is the same, it’s just wrapped around a new and exciting plot. I fell in love with Walker’s writing style after reading the first chapter of her first book, and I have been held hostage in her book worlds. She is a master at writing descriptive scenes that transports you right into the center of the action. Whether it’s a scene of passion, fighting or adventure, you get a front row seat as it all enfolds before your eyes. This book is told in multiple POV’s. There are three separate situations happening at the same time that all mingle together perfectly into one story. The balance between the different plots is well developed and kept me invested in each one. In this story we follow along as six retired SEALS are on a quest for adventure and treasure. From the very beginning, nothing goes as planned. Things gradually get worse as their voyage progresses. Leo and Olivia share with us their journey for finding terrorists, finding traitors, finding stolen bombs and finally finding everlasting love. I love the new characters we get introduced to in this series. As with all of her books, they are very strong , but have a sweet side that melts your heart. The sarcastic banter back and forth provides a great mix of humor even in some very dark and troubling times. There is no limit to the future of this series. There are so many great introductions that could easily lead off into different novels. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead. Where this is the first book in the series be prepared for a lot of back story and character introductions. It took me a few chapters to get completely pulled in, but once it happened there was no stopping until I hit the last page. Ms. Walker will always have a spot of my auto buy list. I am guaranteed a story filled with intense moments, hot alpha men, enough action to make it impossible to put down, and it’s all enfolded around a sexy, passionate, epic love story. ...more

It is a beautiful romance filled with a little bit of everything to keep the readers engaged, entertained, and hoping for love everlasting. I was blown away by the writing style of Ms. Denault. It looks like this is her debut novel and debut series and you would never know it. I think a second chance romance is one of the harder styles to write and write well. There needs to be a precise balance between past and present story. She absolutely nailed it. I was given enough of the past to understand what the history was, but it mingled with the current story well and was tangled throughout the book, not simply chapter after chapter of the past. I loved that mix. It kept me engaged and craving to know everything. The plot line was original and leaves the door wide open with many options to carry this series on. The chemistry between Jordan and Jessie was explosive. You could feel their love flowing off the pages and there was definitely a mystery element that really made you wonder if they would ever find their way back. Add in the family dynamic and it just increases the love I have for this series tenfold. Hockey is the underlying them, but there isn’t a lot of actual game time. Jordan is hurt and recovering from an ankle injury. With that being said, I really didn’t miss it. And trust me; I rarely say that about hockey, whether it’s fictional or real life. The story was strong enough to keep me engaged in their story and not miss what wasn’t there. I really hope you give One More Shot a shot of your own. I love it when I find a new author to fall in love with. Denault has earned her a spot on my auto buy list and I can’t wait to read more. ...more

Ride steady delivered everything and then some that I crave in a romance book. It’s packed with spicy direct dialogue, it’s crammed full of heartwarming caring characters, and it delivers a love story that every reader hopes to find between the pages. Ms. Ashley shares with us a world inside the Chaos MC where characters can be lethal and scary, hot headed and physical, but at the end of the day they are the ones you know you can always, without fail, depend on and love unconditionally. Carissa and Joker take us on an emotional ride through their lives. We begin with them in high school and end up skipping years ahead to follow them through a new and welcome chapter in their lives. Neither one are close to the people they once were and to watch them connect and fuse their new lives together is a pleasure to read. I absolutely love the plot of this book. The characters are strong, their relationship is strong and they stay that way through the book. The conflict/resolve isn’t centered on their relationship; it’s centered on outside forces that try to shake them up. Through it all Joker and Carissa prove to be unbreakable and prove their commitment to one another is a force to be reckoned with. This was a welcome change over several books I’ve currently read recently. Not only do we get a look inside the Chaos world and the characters that surround the MC, we get to touch base with other characters from other series of Kristen’s that blend into this story perfectly. We also get to witness how amazing these though guys can be around babies and children. Carissa has a baby with her ex-husband and to see the bond Joker forms with him absolutely melts my heart. I would say you could read this as a standalone and have no problem following along with the story. However, I can't imagine if you have read anything by Ms. Ashley you haven't already read them. She has a way to capture her reader's hearts and leaves them completely addicted to any world she decided to put on paper. Kudos to you, Kristen, for one more fabulous book that will have a permanent home on my re-read shelf. ...more

Kenton and Molly share a portion of their relationship that leaves readers fully sated with the knowledge this couple is solid and can pull through any situation.
I have been a fan of Ms. Reynolds for a while now and she is an author I stalk frequently, eagerly anticipating her next release. Every new book is a completely different and refreshing adventure.
In one night Molly’s whole life comes crashing down around her after witnessing a murder in the strip club where she was working. She is sent to TN to stay with Kenton until the murderer is caught. Immediately she has a special pull towards him. This is totally foreign to her. She hasn’t been interested in any guy for years, so feeling something for Kenton opens a whole new level of emotion for her to explore and figure out.
Kenton is an ass. He is constantly running his mouth and saying things he doesn’t mean. At every turn he cuts her down while trying to figure out why she is exactly what he needs in his life. Experiencing their push and pull relationship is comical at times and you can feel the sexual tension mounting with each engaging scene. No question when they finally give in and stop trying to fight love and passion, it’s explosive.
One thing I love about Ms. Reynolds writing is the connection and solidity her couples have with one another. It may take them a little time to get to the couple status in a book, but once there they stay put and together fight through conflict together not against each other. You can feel the love they have for one another flow off each page.
This book is told in dual POV so you get to capture the thoughts of both characters. They have some intense situations they must find a way through. Some of its pretty dark and violent, but that’s exactly who Kenton is and it shows exactly what he will do to protect his own.
Reynolds has a unique and beautiful writing style that entwines suspense, passion, intensity, and deep rooted love throughout. She places her readers directly in each scene. If you haven’t given her a try, you are missing out. If you have read her previous book, no question you will want to grab this new one and get lost in TN for a while.

Our long awaited story about Cole is everything I hoped it would be and more. It’s sexy and edgy and completely doused in passion. I knew Kenner would give Cole a captivating plot line and we would finally get some answers about his past. What I wasn’t expecting was for Kat to match him head on with her own secrets and past discretions. When these two finally connect and begin to create their own story readers are granted a spicy tale full of redemption, long awaited happiness, and a new world of pleasure they both crave. I absolutely loved Kat in this story. Her character is so refreshing and vibrant. She knows she wants Cole and once she sets her plan in motion she doesn’t stop until she wins. That’s not to say she had an easy go of it. He fought her every step of the way. Her determination and stubborn drive were a force to be reckoned with. She is a very strong character, but not in a pushy arrogant way. She just knows she has to get through his walls and push his past down, before they have a shot at rebuilding a future together. As much as she helps him let go of his demons, he does the same for her. Cole is the ultimate protector. He has had that role for most of his life. He is drawn to Kat and desires her beyond anything he has ever experienced before, but he’s determined he’s not the one for her. He will protect her always, even if it’s him she needs protection from. Kat doesn’t give up easily and together they discover they crave, desire, and need the same things. This book is the heaviest of the three in BDSM nature. I think it will satisfy all readers, whether it’s your type of book or not. It’s not going to push your comfort zone, but it will give you a complete picture of the release this lifestyle choice delivers for these two. If you have been following along with this series, you won’t want to miss out on this one. However, if you are just looking for a blazing hot, engaging story you won’t have a problem reading this as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend you grab all three books and enjoy!

ThisAcross the Line is a fast- paced book about a fast-paced game and a couple who has to learn to juggle the pace and manage a growing relationship. This is the second book in the series and I loved the look back we got about the players and characters we met in the first book. I really enjoy the dynamic of the hockey team and what these guys mean to each other on and off the ice.
Calder and Becca share a story that is spicy, sexy and full of spark. I absolutely loved Calder. He was caring, compassionate and full of love he just wants to share. He is coming off an injury shortened season and knows he has to put in a lot of hard work and effort to get back on the ice and compete not only against the other teams, but his brother who has recently been traded to his team. After meeting Becca on a cross country plane ride he’s immediately enamored with her and needs to find a way to keep her in his life. He knows his hockey schedule is demanding. He knows the time and dedication required by him for his future career dreams. But above all, he knows he and Becca share a love that is worth fighting and sacrificing for.
Becca was a bit of a struggle for me. I tried to like her and there are certain parts that I did like about her, but for me she was a character that came across as cold and bitter. I just didn’t have a connection to her and I struggled to find one throughout the book. She has a lot of demons haunting her past that have been brought on by her parents, but once she trusts and loves Calder, she never really lets him in. I felt as though Calder was the one to give and give and apologize over and over again and she pulls him in then pushes him away if the need fits. Her restaurant continually comes first and Calder was the one trying to squirm some time into her life repeatedly.
With that being said, they do get to a point that they recognize the problems they have and learn to adjust and make things better. I liked how their relationship progressed and intensified over time. They both see that they have to make compromises for each other to have any type of a happy future. I loved the plot. It was much more than a story about two people trying to make things work when they lived on opposite sides of the country. It really has a lot of family issues on both sides that come to a head. That conflict mixed with the aspect of a professional hockey team and the lifestyle that encompasses that makes for an enjoyable read.
I’m excited to read more about this team and see what lies ahead for the future.

Straddling The Line really has a mix of everything a sports romance reader loves. We get lots of field action, lots of smoking sex, and cocky sexy athletes all wrapped around an original yet beautiful love story.
Haven has been suffering the past year after the death of her father. She hasn’t been able to move on and get past her grief. She has landed the job of a lifetime as a sports journalist and doesn’t have the drive to peruse it. That is until her new assignment is to write up a bio piece on Trevor. She could never turn her back on him.
Trevor is an athlete in a rare category of playing two professional sports. He is a baseball superstar as well as a football star. He rarely gives out interviews, but as a favor to Haven’s mom he agrees to give Haven a chance to do this assignment. She tutored him in college and she wasn’t a stranger by any means.
Both Haven and Trevor have things they have to work through. She is struggling to move on from her grief, and fighting the attraction she feels for Trevor. Trevor is dedicated to be the best athlete he can be and remain in the elite category he has earned. He is hiding a huge secret and isn’t able to allow anyone to get close enough to him to uncover the truth. He also feels the pull towards Haven and is teetering on the brink of falling in love with her, but continually pushes her back to keep his secrets locked up tight.
Pushing Haven away proves harder to accomplish than Trevor thought. He is able to recognize his feelings and accept that he has some changes to make. I loved the way Haven realized she was going to fight for him and try to help him. They share some very deep, heartfelt moments on their journey to claim happiness and love.
As with all the books in this series, we get a lot of actual game time. Ms. Burton writes these scenes so well you really feel transported right into the game. I love the balance of sports action and romance action. It’s blended perfectly. There are some great stories up next in this series and I can’t wait!

I think this is definitely going to be a book you really like and enjoy, or you are going to hate it. As for me, I thought it was great. This was a total new style of book from what I am used to reading by Ms. Jewel, and I personally think she nailed it.
You pretty much get an idea of the plot with the synopsis, but let’s just recap…Reign is an ass! He’s cocky and sexy and he is so hung up on his ex, Selina that he only has one focus on life and that is to reclaim her. It doesn’t matter to him that she cheated and ruined their once happy relationship; all that matters is that she comes back to him and they live happily ever after. Well that is his plan until Tia enters his life and then she spins a web of emotions he never knew existed.
Tia and Reign meet at a club and have an instant connection. She is lighthearted and funny and shows a snarky side that he is intrigued by. He immediately hires her for some business and some pleasure, but only for show to make the ex jealous. Their arrangement doesn’t quite go as planned and soon he finds himself being pulled in two different directions.
Once Reign has both Tia and Selina in his life his heart and his head spin out of control trying to decide what path to take. He’s only ever wanted Selina, but he can’t seem to fathom his life without Tia. This is a bit of a love triangle, but only on the emotional level, not physical. I think this is the part of the story that you will either hate or love. Reign treats Tia like a shit. He needs her when he needs her and quickly forgets about her when he’s around Selina. He has never promised her anything and she has known from the start what his end game is. He uses her over and over again and she keeps falling deeper and deeper in love with him.
Tia is a sassy character full of spark. She shows Reign how to let loose and just have fun. She shows him how to be a friend and she shows him what love really is. Time and time again he disappoints and hurts her. She is so in love with him she accepts the good and the bad. The alternative is to walk away for good and she just can’t imagine a life without him. Some say this made her a weak character, I say it made her stronger. She saw a different side to Reign than no one knew existed. She showed him how fun life could be and she had faith in him that he would eventually take the blinders off and claim what she was offering. Like every great romance story he does finally see the error of his ways and earns his redemption with Tia. And if you’re like me and like to see the ex eventually get what she deserves, you will love how this story unfolds.
If you are a fan of Ms. Jewel and have followed her MC series, you will be happy to know some of her bikers show up in this story. They bring their badass protective personalities with them and prove they will always protect their own.
This is a really funny, lighthearted, sexy story. Yes, there are a lot of emotional moments that hit hard. There are some past demons that come into play. There are some serious soul searching moments, but it’s all entangled around a couple that pulls at your heartstrings and you can’t help but to root for.
In book four of the Corps Security series we experience a whirlwind of emotions. There was no question Ash and CheIcie were going to have to overcomeIn book four of the Corps Security series we experience a whirlwind of emotions. There was no question Ash and CheIcie were going to have to overcome some huge hurdles in order to find a way into each other’s hearts. While watching them battle their way through, we have a front row seat to a tale of pain, heartache, grief, forgiveness, and at long last utter happiness and love. This book detailed for us the brutal childhood that Ash and Cooper shared. We experienced firsthand the lengths that Ash would go through to keep Coop safe. It lets us see how hard Ash is taking it since he wasn’t there to protect Coop months ago and he’s not gotten over his guilt. He’s buried his grief in booze and women. He will go to any length just for a few seconds of numb. Chelcie is struggling adapting to everything new in her life. She is in a new town, she has a new home, she is getting to know and trust her new friends, and now a new baby on the way. She wants to find a way to move on and she knows Ash is the one she wants to move on with, but he is stuck in a down whirl spiral and she has to fight to find the strength to pull him up. There is quite a bit of back story thrown in to give the reader a chance to really connect with the characters. I loved that. Even though it was brutal and hard to read, it really helped us understand Coop’s perspective on life. Ash is just torn between grief and a burning need for revenge. Chelcie is confused and hurt, but she has a determination that is unwavering and she proved to one hell of a strong lady. Watching Ash and Chelcie come together and try to accept the past they can’t change and reach for the happiness they both desire and deserve was absolutely beautiful. They really have a love story that is unmeasurable and completely consumes your heart. The secondary characters really helped pull off this story. They proved to be reliable, dependable, loyal friend. And I know this isn’t Maddox’s story, but damn, that man absolutely stole my heart. We saw a complete different caring compassionate side to him that just proved his book is going to be epic. The only issue I struggled with was the appearance of someone showing up from Ash’s past. I didn’t feel like it mixed well with the plot, and parts of this scene were very similar to what we saw in Mandy and Cage’s story. I’m not going into a lot of detail, it’s hard to do that and not give away any spoilers, but for three chapters my head was spinning. Aside from that, I loved reading about these two. Parts of their story are very sad and hard to get through, but the happiness they eventually find makes the bumpy road to claim it completely worth it.
Once again readers are transported right into the center of small town Plum Orchard with all the good and the bad that comes along with that.
MarybellOnce again readers are transported right into the center of small town Plum Orchard with all the good and the bad that comes along with that.
Marybell and Tag definitely threw me for a loop with their book. With every new series I read, there is always one book that just isn’t my favorite. This is definitely that one book for me. With that being said, their story was original and definitely unique. I just struggled connecting with the characters a bit. I especially had a hard time picturing Marybell’s “people shield.” I understand the reasoning behind it, but the practicality of her makeup method was hard to visualize at times.
Marybell is a very lovable character. She hides behind her shield for a reason and once the layers of her past begin to be revealed, you just want to climb inside the pages and hug her. She never lies to be malicious; her actions are tied to simply saving herself. She has been through hell and back and it was good to finally understand exactly what she has been through.
I love how the past characters we have read about still have a big role in the new books. They are all entwined in each book and it allows you to keep that connection you felt with them while reading the first two books. These ladies always come together and stand up for one another. They truly show what true friendship is about.
At times I felt as though I needed a clearer picture as to Tag’s history. It seems to me his history was a bit brushed over and I didn’t feel that we were given many details. I suppose this left more time to dig into Maybell’s past, but I felt as though I was missing out on really connecting with him as well.
Another thing I am struggling with is the continuation of Louella and all her games. We are three books in and she continues to cause problems for everyone. These people are all very resourceful and it leaves me puzzled as to why no one is able to shut her down. In every book she is threatened, but then she just keeps on with the same game with a different player. I’m longing for someone to finally give her what she deserves.
I do like the premises of the series. It’s very original and with the phone sex company as a backdrop it leaves many angles open for many of entertaining stories in the future. If you have been reading this series, you definitely don’t want to miss out on this addition, but if you haven’t I would grab the previous books before diving into this one so you have a clearer understanding of the characters.

Five books later, I still love the Assassin series because it centers around hockey, but I honestly continue to read it because of the characters and the way Ms. Aleo has buried them deep within my heart.
Philip and Reese give the readers a chance to follow along a heart twisting yet passion filled journey as they try to put the past behind them and move forward. I’m sure most of you have read stories where one has been hurt badly, so in turn they ban any type of relationship and only engage in fun no strings sex, until feelings get involved and the plan goes to hell. That is really the premise of this book, but I promise it’s not a cookie cutter read that feels familiar at all. The story is original and unique and it really stands out on its own. Reese is stubborn and at times bitchy and cold, but once you get to know her and understand why she has so many defenses up all the time you can’t help but to adore her and hope she is able to claim new love and happiness.
Philip….Wow…what does one say about him? He is amazing, sensitive, sexy and just trying to finally be enough for someone. He has inherited one angry, confused, bitter teenage niece and it’s his mission to give her the world and make up for her shitty childhood. Their relationship is rocky and at times it seems doomed, but he never gives up. Everyone he has ever loved has always required time to love him back. So many things about him just shattered and shredded my heart. Once he sets his sights on Reese there is no denying these two belong together. However, there are many obstacles standing in the way. I really wanted someone to fight for him the way he always fought for everyone else. Towards the end of their story my hopes came true and it was a beautiful performance that left me wiping tears and completely breathless.
I absolutely love the way Toni always incorporates the Assassin family in each of her books. I love reading more about these characters that have found a permanent home in my heart. They are all greatly entwined in each other’s lives on and off the ice.
This book is full of sweltering sex, heartfelt emotion, and lots of hope. If you enjoy edgy, passionate romance wrapped around a sexy hockey team you won’t want to miss out on this one.
