I'm sitting here, full up to the brim with emotions - happiness, sadness, relief that the darkness of all that happened is lifting. And dark it was this time round in the second Nightrunner book. It was also romantic, sexy, tense and, along with dark, horrifying. The story begun in the first book is wrapped up, questions answered. And at the end a new path has opened, leading off to book three. This series is fantastic. I am in love with it. Alec and Seregil are so real that they leap off the pages. I care so deeply for them and for all their wonderful friends. I want to go and have dinner with everyone at Watermead! :-) This fabulous book gets 5 glittering stars from me! :-) ...more

I love the Harry Potter Series. It is one of my very favourtie series of all time. All the books get 5 stars from me. But there are two that are my absolute favourites out of the 7, equally tied. They are The Prisoner of Azkaban and this one. This book left me breathless! So much happened. Loved the Tom Riddle flashbacks, the horcrux stuff and the mystery surrounding Dumbledore's absence. And the ending... Man, I cried so bad! But I knew there was something going on, more to it than meets the eye... LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! :-) ...more

I had taken a break from urban fantasy and was eager to get back to it. Dark fever reviews promised me that it would be worth the read and I was not disappointed. Absolutely loved it and quickly read all the others in the series! This series is a must read for fans of urban fantasy and all things fey. Set in Dublin, Moning, really gives you a feel for the city. It was as if i was walking the streets of Dublin alongside the main chracter Mac. Mac is so real she practically jumps of the page and I fell instantly in love with her character. A highly recommended series. I dare you to read this book and not have the burning desire to pick up the next....more

I don't have much time to read at the moment and because of that I haven't been able to start a full length novel. This collection was perfect for me as I could dip into it whenever I had a free half hour or so. What I liked the most was the variety of tales and even the shortest story had its own voice. Toy Davis is now on my favourite authors list and I have already downloaded The Last Resortto read once I have a break in my schedule. If you fancy some entertaining, varied, short tales then try this collection. You won't be disappointed....more
This is the first book in the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb…
Right from the beginning, this story had an intense, emotional impact. Fitz’s life is laced with a painful sadness and my eyes did mist over on many occasion. Hobb’s incredible writing, her skill at weaving a beautiful, visceral sentence, pulled at the heartstrings. But there was not only sadness. There was mystery, action, political intrigue, wonderful characters, amazing word-building and delicious writing.
Fitz is a wonderful character and a great narrator, really pulling you into the world with his voice, sharing his experiences and pieces of history from The Six Duchies. Not only is this a fantasy story, but one about growing up, about finding yourself in a tough world, and even one about family. Fitz is our guide, taking us on a journey through his younger years to his teens, our eyes through which we see an amazing yet cruel world, a world adrift in strange times. His is a life of pain and discovery. I cannot wait to read the second volume of the trilogy (Royal Assassin) and see how it all pans out.
I have to say that The Fool is my favourite character! I won’t say anything further about him, just that I think he is awesome! :-)
If you love fantasy, I highly recommended this feast of a novel! Happy Reading! :-)

The concept was unique and the execution masterful. I loved the writing style and the fact that we were allowed into each main characters head. This book posed so many questions; do we have a soul and is it linked to our body parts? Do we really continue to live if our body parts are scattered yet alive in other people? If so does that mean our soul is to remain tethered to this reality until the final piece of our body dies? Are we truly just a sum of our parts? From the first page I was hooked and was gripped by Connors story. Risa and Lev were great characters, and I like the way that it all came together at the end. I loved the fact that not only did this book have a great plot and great characters, but it also made me think. This isn't just your run of the mill dystopian story, there is very romance, the focus is on the bigger picture. I will definitely be checking out other books by this author. I loved, loved loved it! Highly recommended....more
