I was intrigued by this title because I loved the idea of the story being set in Alaska. I’m so glad I ordered the book, as I’ve become a devoted fan of Elizabeth Goddard’s books since reading this first one! Buried opens with a scene that makes your scalp tingle it’s so exciting, and it sets the tone for a story that is flowing, smooth, and always keeps you guessing. Cade Warren, a search and rescue avalanche specialist is a strong, caring, intelligent man who is the perfect foil for lovely Leah Marks. She’s literally running for her life, and their attraction is intense, but always just that little bit out of reach while a man bent on vengeance hunts Leah into the remote wilds of Alaska.
Buried is the kind of story that makes you cheer for the hero, wish you were the heroine, and generally just fall in love with the whole wonderful cast of characters. From Cade’s feisty and spirited grandmother, to his siblings, everyone is richly painted on the majestic tapestry of Alaska’s snowy scenery. When the ultimate showdown brings Leah and Cade face to face with a killer, it will take your breath away! Buried is the first book in a new series called Mountain Cove, and I for one will be happy to revisit – often! ...more

A larger than life man on the hunt for the perfect bride, until he stumbles across an unexpected visitor hiding in the harem of his palace. Jacqueline Fletcher is a journalist, a woman all but toxic to the Sultan by virtue of her profession, and she is scarred and scared. Insecure about her personal appeal, she is nonetheless a force to be reckoned with he soon discovers. A woman of integrity and passion, though innocent and genuine in a way he finds irresistible. The passion between them is electric, and hotter than the desert sands.
Annie West weaves a breath-taking tale of love and desire that carries you well into the night as you shiver with anticipation of the stubborn Asim’s surrender to the love he doesn’t even recognize growing inside him. When he finally succumbs to what his heart desires most, the scene is one that will make you laugh and cry. This was my first book with this type of hero, and I have to admit, I fell as much in love with Asim as Jacqui did! If you’re looking for a story that will keep you turning pages, grab a copy of this one and hold on for the ride of your life! ...more

After reading the first book in Lucy Monroe’s Ruthless Russians set, I was more than a little curious to learn more about the mysterious Maxwell Black. I loved Viktor and Maddie from An Heiress For His Empire, so falling for Max and Romi seemed unlikely. How wrong I was on that one! Lucy has an absolute gift for creating alpha heroes who on the surface can appear ruthless, cold even, and decidedly forceful in their presence and their expectation of obedience. What makes them so special though is that inside each of these alpha males beats a passionate heart that is often very much in love long before they ever realize it within themselves, and it’s always wonderful to see how she brings the truth to the surface for them and makes them see what her readers already know by then. A Virgin For His Prize is no exception to this style, and Max has more than met his match in the idealistic, innocent, and trusting Romi. The story flows beautifully, making the reader both smile and want to occasionally smack Max for being obtuse. Romi’s a delightful heroine, smart, pragmatic, sweet, and focused on making herself an intimate part of Max’s world, outside the bedroom as well as in. The banter between them is natural and sexy, the chemistry hot and insatiable.
All in all, this is another winner that will have you smiling long after you turn the last page and set is aside. That, in my opinion, is the magic of any Lucy Monroe magic, and she never fails to deliver!...more

Vik has always been Maddie’s only love. From her first teenage crush to adulthood, Vik is the only man Maddie’s ever truly wanted, despite her denials to herself and friends. When betrayal precipitates a chain of events she could never have imagined, Madison finds herself being swept into marriage with the man of her dreams–whether she wants it or not.
Lucy Monroe has a knack for creating heroes who are pure Alpha, but who embody the romance and passion that defines the entire genre. Viktor Beck is no exception–a driven man who is ruthless, passionate, and steeped in his old world heritage, while being thoroughly modern. Maddie is equally strong, intelligent, and possesses her own brand of ruthless characteristics. They are a well matched couple, and one of the beauties of this book lies in the fact that the entire story is NOT them denying their need for each other.
The plot is tightly woven, populated with a wonderfully drawn cast of diverse characters who are flawed, loyal, and relatable. Lucy’s writing is smooth, romantic, and delightful–her trademark style of taking larger than life situations and making them live in the reader’s heart is all over this book. If you want a story that will make you smile long after you turn the last page – you can’t miss with An Heiress for His Empire. It shines – another jewel in the Queen of Romance’s crown! ...more

The writing style is a child friendly narrative that is both engaging and adult enough to enchant readers of all ages. The world of the Wolpertinger is richly detailed and envisioned, with magical creatures aplenty. Animals and Alex can talk to each other, a nod of inspiration to Doctor Doolittle there perhaps, and the personalities and presentation of each new creature/monster Alex meets on his quest to help a magician to be free of a malicious prince adds to the overall feel of a truly magical and wonderful adventure for readers of all ages.
Book Two is out, and is called Alex and the Wolpertinger: The Downhills. I'm sure it will be as deliciously entertaining as the first book has been!...more
