Narrated by Death Markus Zusak brings us a hauntingly beautiful story of war and the human sprit. If this book does not touch you in some way you may not be human. ...more

It is about Ridley Jones and average New Yorker whos live is turned forever changed after one act of heroism. She get a piece of mail with a picture of a women who looks a lot like her and a note that says are you my daughter? But she knows her parents she sees them every Thursday for dinner. She starts to investigate with the help of her new, sexy, mysterious up-staires neighbor Jake. What she discovers is a baby ring like no other. Babies are being stolen form "at-risk" families and sold to upper-class couples. And Ridley may be one of those babies. There is romane, mysteries, mob connections and even a shootout. All the elements of a modern book.
While I like the plot of the book I did not like Ridley's character. She was not enduring to me and I found her a little annoying at times. Her instant relationship with her neighbor Jake was unrealistic to me. And I dont just mean sexual. She does not know this man and she instantly trust and almost in seconds had an emotionial attachment to him. ...more

I enjoyed this book. It was funny and easy to read. If you dont read the Stephanie Plum series (which i am not sure why you wont) then at least read the short "novellas". No sex no violence. Just some good clean funny and serious flirting, but then what girl wouldnt flirt with Diesel....more

But what is really going on in this quite little Texas town and what does it have to do with Jo's death???
Lydia was right I really enjoyed this book. China Bayles is offically one of my favorite ameatuer dectives. China is a fun slightly complicated and flawed character that is a joy to read. Throw in her freespirted, newage best friend and a cute excop turned professor and your in for a good time. ...more
