I totally loved this book and certainly didn't want it to end. I got into it right from the start and didn't want to stop reading. For me, it was one of those books that kept my attention and kept me reading from start to finish and was over far to quickly. As I get to know each of two main characters I fell in love with aspects of each of the characters, such as the looking for happily ever after in Levi and the in-your-face attitude of Emerson. I hope there is a sequel to this book, but I'd highly recommend anyone to read it.
You get introduced to two characters who seem to be exact opposites of each other yet find a way to totally click and right from the start you can't help but starting to root for them. First there is Emerson a woman who has made peace with the fact that her life is all about work work and more work. She is a part-time hired hacker who tracks down cheaters and liars for her paying clients. She thinks that love is not all its cut out to be and eventually life will show her that love is full of its own secrets and lies. Then there is Levi a musician; though struggling believes that life is worth living by following your dreams and finding that forever person to share your life with and who doesn't seem to worry about the small things in life. Levi is starting to wonder if the love of his life, his internet girlfriend, is his real forever love or if she is not all she says that she is.
Emerson doesn't want to fall for Levi because she knows how you can be hurt if you don't protect your heart. Yet Levi's natural charm and utter ease with himself, as well as his ability to make a fool out of himself just to see her smile, breaks down Emerson's walls and makes her realize what she is missing in her life. Levi doesn't want to fall for Emerson because he feels as if he has given his heart to his internet girlfriend. Yet Emerson's no-holds-barred way of speaking and acting gives Levi that spark in his life that he seems to be missing. While neither of them wants to fall for the other; its quick to see the spark formed between the two of them yet they fight so hard for it not to go anywhere beyond a business arrangement.

I didn't know what to expect with this book but I thought I would give it a try since her other books have been equally awesome in nature and easy reads.
Story Line: The story introduces a future Earth where the planet is inhabited by humans as well as aliens known as Otherworlders. The main focus of this series is Black Ops Otherworlders whose whole lives are the jobs that are given to them. They are very isolated from society weather by training or by their own choice. This book focuses on Solomon Judah nicknamed Solo. After a meeting with their boss, their headquarters is blown up and the three operatives are taken captive. Solo is sold to a circus that showcases Otherworlders in a twisted version of a petting zoo. Once there Solo meets Vika Lukus, the daughter of the owner of the circus. She has been beaten down most of her life by her father, but she takes pride in her care of the Otherworlders, trying to show them compassion even if they are trapped. Although she knows no other way to live, she wants to be free of the circus and she also wants to free the Otherworld prisoners from their cages. Solo has never liked or cared for anyone really in his life expect for his boss, but yet as he watches Vika care for him and his fellow captives, he grows to understand her and wishes to help her. The odds are stacked against Solo and Vika as they try to fight against not only her evil father & his helpers but also Solo's quest to find out why and how he was captured.
I absolutely loved this book. It was a book that carried just as much romance as it did action. The characters left me absolutely glued to the book to see how they played out with each other as well as their own personal struggles. Solo is a warrior who is used to depending on no one except his fellow agents. He showcases the warrior part of himself so much that he's hardened himself to anything else. Vika is deaf, but she refuses to let that slow her down or bring her down. She finds ways to rebel against her father's ironclad ruling of her life and her fathers second in command ways. She has a plan in place and tries to stick to it as best she can. They balance each other out as characters: Solo is a hardened warrior with a soft inside that he rarely shows & Vika is a soft-hearted woman with the heart of a warrior. It's fun to read their story as they try to find that happy medium....more

An American woman who has just inherited a home & a fortune from her unknown recently deceased aunt. Having just been fired from her job in American she wants to relocate for a while and consider her options away from the stressers of her regular life. So she comes to her newly acquired home in England. But all is not well her late grandmother was a secret witch and now some towns people will stop it nothing to get the secrets that her grandmother hid. But Dixie finds she has an ally, Christopher Marlow... a vampire. Despite his best efforts, Christoper is bowled over by Dixie's attitude and her lust for life. Together they try to fight against those who would seek to do her arm while forming a love that they did not thought they would find.
I loved this part of the book for its uncomplicated story. It was a love story with a little action thrown in. The characters mesh very well with each other. The characters don't seem to fight against their feelings, they only seem to fight against their circumstances.
Love Me Forever: This book intro's Justin Corvus, a friend of Christopher & Dixie, on vacation from his native England. A very old vampire he has grown tired of his long life alone, having wasted years of his life in pursuit of a woman who does not love him. While helping out Dixie in a shop that she runs called the Vampire Emporium, Justin happens to meet Stella Schwartz & her son. Although she is instantly attracted to Justin, she worries that she has nothing to interest Justin. Yet for the first time in so long Justin is excited for life and finds himself hopelessly in love. Justin has to slowly break down the walls of Stella's mind and heart, to show her that love can and does exist.
I loved this book because Stella knows almost instantly that she has fallen quickly and hard for Justin. Yet life has taught her to be extremely cautious with her life and that of her sons. Stella has worked hard for all that she has, even if it isn't very much by most people's standards, she worries about letting her attraction to Justin get attached for something she thinks will only be temporary. I love how Justin's quiet strength and understanding combat against Stella's reluctance to love....more

The gods have created a game to see which of them get access to Atlantis, so two beings of every race are pitted against each other in a series of games. Anyone who loses a game is killed. Layel is taken along of one of his warriors as well as the first woman to catch his attention for a long time an Amazon named Delilah. Before this book the Amazons are not even mentioned so it was a surprise to see them in Atlantis. Layel is determined to keep his warrior safe from harm and is silently determined to keep Delilah safe. Despite his best efforts to not care for her, he finds that he is slowly coming to love her, but in the end its a question of weather his love will be enough to save them.
In the books, Layel through out the series is painted as a background villain who is looking to cause trouble from any race but mostly the dragons. He survived in little snippets of the other books and I'm glad he finally got his own book. Time has hardened his heart because he's been faced with alot of pain and hurt in his long life. He has become all about revenge and making people feel a glimpse of the pain his life has become. But then comes Delilah the Amazon. She is tired of the life shes lived. She is a warrior in her own right but she wants a man who can stand with her against the other Amazons. I loved how she knows to be strong but she also wants the chance to finally let down her warrior armor and let a man take care of her and find the love that she secretly craves....more
Having never had a home Valerian, the king of the Nymph's has finally found a place to call his own. A castle that was once the home of dragon shifterHaving never had a home Valerian, the king of the Nymph's has finally found a place to call his own. A castle that was once the home of dragon shifters who guarded one of the human entrances to Atlantis. Tired of life as a drifter he would much rather protect what he now views as his home. Yet there is a problem, being a nymph they need to have sex in order to remain strong. Although Valerian has sent for them, they have not arrived at the castle. Seeing the only option available to him, Valerian leads some of his strongest warriors to the surface to hunt for temporary female companions... humans. There he meets Shaye, his predestined mate. The one woman who will keep him strong forever & one who makes him forget about any other woman before her. Yet Shaye has learned, through her difficult family life, to guard her heart against all emotion. Valerian will have to use all his skills as a warrior to break down the walls that Shaye has built around her heart, to get her to love him.
Valerian is an amazing character. He has grown tired of not having a home for him and his warriors. He has grown tired of never settling in one place for long. He has grown tired of the endless line of woman who have given him strength, yet he can barely remember their names. He is so determined that he has found a home for himself and his people, he is willing to do whatever necessary to ensure that home is his alone. He is a strong character but alot of things weigh heavily on his mind. Until he meets Shaye. Shaye is a woman who feels unloved through her life. She has grown up in a home where her parents divorced and re-married over and over again, and she was never shown the love and protection that many children had. She has learned that in order for her to not feel the pain of being unloved by her parents that she needs to be cold and distant from anyone and everything. When she meets Valerian she does what she as always done, be cold and distant. Valerian is determined to break down her barriers and offers her everything that she has ever wanted in life: love and a family. Although she does everything she can to resist him, secretly she craves everything that he offers, but its a struggle for her to break down the walls that have protected her for so long....more

It has been said that whoever possesses the Jewel will have power over his enemy. Yet as skilled as he is he finds himself lost in the wilds of Atlantis with no hope of completing his task. His only help comes from a woman's voice in his head. She helps him deal with the dangers of Atlantis. Her only payment for her help is to be free of the plush prison that she's been surrounded with. As he rescues her, he finds many people will stop it nothing to recapture her. And while his mind is still on completing his task, he may have already found the Jewel of Atlantis.
I liked this story. Gray is a proven warrior who's been tested much of his life. He has a deep sense of protection and honor. Yet he possesses a quick wit and at times a very dirty mind. Jewel is quick to let him know that although she is a female she will not stand back and let him do all the work of protecting them. She has been used much of her life and does not expect that Gray will be much different. Yet she discovers that despite his mission he is much more protective of her than anything else....more

This book focuses on the guardian of one of the two entrances to Atlantis, Darius, who's task is to kill all who enter this mythical world weather they know where they are or not. Yet when Grace unknowingly steps through the gate Darius does not kill her, he is drawn to her. Darius faces the choice between doing his duty or finding someone who brings light to his darkened world.
Darius is a dragon shifter. He's lived a long time and bears the emotional scars of a life as a warrior having learned from a young age that life is not the happy place he wanted it to be. Grace is a human who comes searching for her missing brother. She possesses an inner fire and refuses to be steam-rolled by Darius. The book shows their battle of wills: with Darius wanting to be the protector and Grace wanting to stand with him rather than behind him. An amazing and fun read for sure....more
V Is For VampWoman by Kerrelyn Sparks: LOVED IT!!! I'm absolutely in love with this series: The Love At Stake Series. They keep me pulled in with the mV Is For VampWoman by Kerrelyn Sparks: LOVED IT!!! I'm absolutely in love with this series: The Love At Stake Series. They keep me pulled in with the mixture of romance, adventure, and humor all rolled into one. Now for some reason I never took a shine to Lady Pamela. There was just something about her that I didn't like. Yet this story made her finally more relatable. She is a vampire who after all this time of her life is finally decided to prove to herself and everyone around her that she is no longer a victim. She's willing to do whatever it takes to prove it, even possibly deny the love of a man who has been in love with her for a lonnnnnggg time.
A Forever Love by Pamela Palmer: Loved it! Now this is my first intro to the series where this story comes out of and I must say that if this story is any indication i fully plan to get more in the series. When the love of your life suddenly disappears, you want answers. Years hardly heal the loneliness you feel once they are gone. Elizabeth gets that second chance to find her answers. Only then does she realize that the man whom she loves is a vampire and he's trapped in a parallel dimension with only very little chance of escape. But they love each other enough that Lukas will risk his very life to help her escape his world.
First Dates Are Hell by Amanda Arista: Liked it! Now sadly I related to this one cause of my own dating history. A vampire who hasn't had a date in hundreds of years finally decides to go on a date. But sadly his first date doesn't go as planned: people from his past threatening to kill him & the girl he's dating. And no sense of peace in his first date.
Blood And Water by Kim Falconer: Sort of liked it. This story certainly had a different twist on vampires. Vampires who live underwater. They are very territorial and don't like the fact that humans are trying to build things in their domain; their sacred place. So they hash a plan to kill all the humans in the area. But one human changes the views of these water vampires. It's a different story for sure....more
