In a way, this book to me filled that void. From the beginning pages when the author treads over such familiar territory (the moments of the assassination itself) to vividly dissecting the entire Texas trip of President and Mrs. Kennedy to the brutal aftermath of the shooting, this story has it all. It is however shown from a different perspective and is a worthy addition to the culture of "memorabilia" and countless words written on the subject of 11-22-63. This November - fifty years. (less)

This was a "you-are-there" type of story told by four newsmen who were actually THERE the day JFK was assassinated in Dallas. It delves into great detail in regards to the actual moments before AND after the actual murder itself and then segues into the story of the chase/apprehension and eventual arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald. The only part of the story I wasn't crazy about was the section dealing with Jack Ruby and his arrest and subsequent trial for murdering Oswald. As interesting as that part could have been, it never held my interest.(less)
