A super funny paranormal romance that makes you smile, giggle or laugh out loud. And it was free!!! Doesn't get much better than that. I loved the story line, the character and the entertaining way the author tells the story.
Narration: this is the first Molly Harper book that is not narrated by Amanda Ronconi. That is almost a tragedy. But Sophie Eastlake turned out to be very good in this story as well. She does great distinct voices for each character and makes the story funny as it is intended. If it is ever offered individually again you must get it. I highly recommend it. (less)

In an audiobook the narrator either makes or breaks the experience. In this case it broke it. When you were a child did you ever watch the original Cinderella movie? Well, Renee Raudman sounds exactly the same as the narrator of that fairy tale. Making Serena sound like the overly dramatic disneyesque princess was just horrible. An then to make matters worse the evil Baseltov (or something like that) sounds like an evil witch instead of a male fallen angel. The narrator took so much out of the story that it feels like it was written by a different author. The narrator made my favorite paranormal romance series sound like a dramatic old school fairy tale. Pleeease bring Hillary Huber back!!! Please don't kill this series for me. I wish I had the time to sit and read the actual book but I don't so we'll see if this is the end of the series for me since all the next books are narrated by different people. (less)

Another great addition to the Demonica series. I never expected to like this series so much but the rich complex world of underworld general hospital with all the demons, angels, werewolves, vampires etc is just addictive. The way this author writes and how she gives you a main romantic couple along with several intense secondary stories just keeps you on the edge wanting to know what will happen next.
I didn't particularly like Shade in the first book but he was completely redeemed here. He ended up being a passionate adorable demon. Yeah sounds weird but that's how it is. And he happens to have a playroom (hello BDSM) which was a pretty hot unexpected twist. And I loved how the heroine Runa evolved significantly in this story. She went from a shy doormat to a badass werewolf who stood her ground and won her hero's heart.
Narration: Hillary Huber does a perfect job narrating this book. She adds the intensity and suspense to the story and definitely narrates a great love scene. Five star plus narration and a five star plus story make for a very enjoyable listen. (less)

This is a five star story as every other Larissa Ione book. I highly recommend the whole series but it MUST be listened to in order. This is a complex world that the author developed and you can get lost if you do not follow the order.
Narration: I dont particularly like Erin Bennett as a narrator. She tends to go into "robot mode" and doesn't really add that intensity to the story that I expect from top narrators. (less)

I thought the first book in this series was fantastic and this is even better! This time I am more familiar with the many characters in the series and the complex world. The thing about this story is that it is unexpected and unpredictable. I found it difficult to press pause because I wanted to know how everything was going to turn out. The main couple limos a.k.a. Famine and Arik have wild chemistry and a chastity belt between them! And then the background story to the third book begins and it sound soooo interesting that I had to buy that title even before AI finished this one. Larissa Ione is so talented and she has a way of keeping you interested in the romance and in the whole intense dark storyline.
Narration: Hillary Huber again does an excellent job with this book. Great male voices and you can always tell each character apart. And she definitely added intensity, suspense and sexiness. 5 star plus Paranormal Romance!!!(less)

Larissa Ione is one talented paranormal romance writer! I like to listen to paranormal romance books every once in a while but I am always more into the romance side than the paranormal side. Not with this book. Mrs. Ione has created such a rich, interesting, captivating world that catches your complete attention from the very beggining to the very end. This book is complex and I had a hard time the first few chapters keeping up with the many characters. The book even begins with a glossary of terms That I forgot half way through. Once I started to understand who was who and why they had two names then the story picked up and I loved every minute of it.
This book is a spin off from the Demonica series and I suggest that you listen to at least the first book of the Demonica series before listening to this one. This is an apocalyptic dark book but done so well it feels good. The romance is perfectly developed and the love scenes are amazing. This is such a well rounded story that you end up enjoying the romance, the action, the mystery and even the scary parts. I just finished this book and I'm starting Immortal Rider right away (which by the way has the same narrator Hillary Huber).
Narration: Hillary Huber is a great narrator! Even with a complicated story that has many characters you could always tell a different character was speaking. She added the right emotions to this book so that the scary suspenseful parts were more intense and the love scenes more pationate. I hope the publishers keep the same narrator for the rest of the series because she does a great job! (less)

I really wanted to like this book... I really did. But the Dissapointement was crushing. I don't know if this was Ms. Frank's first book but it was simply not good. I love paranormal romances so I've read and listened to many including other demon books. This one used the word demon loosely when it should be vampire. The similarities to Twilight and the Sookie Stackhouse series are just too many. First this is the story of Jacob and Bella. I kept waiting for Edward to show up but as I gave up 3/4 of the story in he still was MIA. Bella is the shy, virgin human girl who ends up having these special abilities she did not know (hum.. Where have I read that before?). Jacob feels attracted to a human for the first time in his 700 years of existence because she is that special (you should have been name Edward).
Edward, I mean Jacob does not want to be intimate with Bella because he is too powerful and she might die trying (Breaking Dawn?)Bella keeps trying and seducing him until they have un impressive sex that causes an earthquake (I almost caused an earthquake listening to this as I laughed out load at Te ridiculesnes). And so on and so forth the similarities kept coming until I just could not take it any longer. It was long, boring and not worth it because even the romance was bad. Kind of melodramatic. I finally stopped listening when it turned out that Bella was not all human but a Druid (like Sookie was a fairie). So as the story went from Twilight to True Blood I decided I better stick to the originals. Not worth the time nor money. Would I try another book by this author? Probably, Noah's story looks promising...
Now about the narrator: she was good. Very. Good. I would definitely listen to other books narrated by her. Xe Sanders was actually The reason I listen to most of the story. Her voice is sensual and her male voices were superb. (less)

This is as interesting and engaging as the NH series. Great story and romance but not nearly as hot as Bones and Cat stories. In this series you get vampires, demons and shape shifters a la True Blood.
Narration: Tavia Gilbert is an ok narrator. In the Night Huntress series my issue was the voice she used for Bones. In this series her characterization of Spade is a gazillion times better but Denisse (our heroine) sounds like a fifteen year old from the deep South (a la Sookie). All in all this series feels like a mild version of True Blood, still enjoyable but less intense. (less)

I've read so many vampire books that by now I'm hard to impress but let me assure you that this series is good, very very good. What I love most about this series is the heroine Cat. She's a kick-ass vampire slayer, strong, independent and does not need to be rescued. And Bones is the first vampire hero who's not too possessive, sicko and manipulative. He's just hot! Super hot and treats her so good.
This book has fast paced action, humor, an awesome cat fight and it's just so interesting! The romance is still powerful and the sex scenes are hot. Very. Hot. I would recommend this book for many reasons but there is one extended amazing love scene that is so amazingly hot that I had to actually listen to it twice to remember every little detail. It is one of the hottest scenes I've ever read in a paranormal romance book. Even the police was called twice that's how powerful that was! I must say I really like Bones!!
Narration: Tavia Gilbert is an excellent narrator. I only gave her two stars because although she does a great job with 99% of the characters, her portrayal of Bones is horrible! Why did she chose that terrible annoying voice for the sexy vampire Bones? Why, oh whyyy? Bones voice actually takes away from the story. The action and the story itself deserve another chance so I guess you really have to try to imagine Bones and not focus on how he sounds.
