For some reason I couldn't tear my eyes out of the pages, I don't know, but every time my tablet goes low-battery my reaction was "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!".
I find it addicting, it was unique and fun and hilarious and I'm sure the next books will be no different:)
I LOVED the characters. Foaly? Talk about AWESOME. I don't want to sound corny, but he was one of my favs XD I shall explain by giving you a few of his quotes:
"Not true, Technically. Welcome back, by the way." Holly couldn't spare even a second to return the greeting. "What do you mean not true?" "I'm fine, seeing as you asked." "Foaly!"
Mulch's eye flickered and sparked. "Oww!" "Sorry. Small charge." "You could have warned me." "I'll give you a big kiss later, you baby. I thought dwarves were suppose to be tough." "We are tough. I'll show you how just tough we are when I get back."
"Oh, by the way, there's another shock coming. Maybe the baby would like to suck his thumb for comfort." "Foaly I'm gonna...Oww!"
I also LOVED Butler. He cares for lil' sis and for his master. The big guy kinda reminds me of Horace from Ranger's Apprentice sometimes and he's just plain awesome.
Artemis Fowl II was an awesome character of courseXD His "I don't like lollipops." comment was AWESOME. Now I break into histaric laughter every time I see a lollipop. Eoin made him the genius, the evil mastermind, the confident, the almost-never-wrong and for some reason had an aura that said "I'm better than you" but he also reminded he was still a kid especially with the "mother's a bit out of the rocker" scenes and especially especially the last one. And he's...adorable...(view spoiler)[ I want you guys to meet my very first book character crush O.O (hide spoiler)]

It was about a twelve year old boy named Erec Ulysses Rex, (Erec Rex) he was normal and ordinary and he lived in an apartment with his five brothers and sisters and their adoptive mother June.
One day, when Erec woke up, he couldn't find his mother. Only that strange baby sitter. Erec also has this strange force called "Cloudy thoughts" told him he needed to find his mother. Now, I know what your thinking: "Not that Parent-goes-missing-and-kid-tries-to-find-them thing again!" Don't worry, it's not. But the baby sitter mysteriously forbids him to go. But he escaped.
Along the way, he meets Bethany who claims to see his mother turns out they ended up in a place were magic was normal. Erec finds out that his mom is hidden in...somewhere and the one who captured her was...someone...I don't want to spoil! Any way along the way Erec get's tangled up with this magical contest and his mother tells him he should win it for some reason. And these contest were awesome.
Okay! done with th whole "describe-what's-gonna-happen" thin'. Let's talk about the characters next! Erec: Erec...he was a likable and he reminds me of Percy Jackson in later books...I liked his personality and attitude.:) He does anythin' for his family and friends even though it get's him killed! And the most important onr of all...his humor! Bethany: I liked how she and Erec got along and that she was selfless and nice. Jack: He's one of my favorites! He was very smart and kind and is also selfless. Balor: ... I don't like him...but, that's the point of being the bad guy!
The imagination and creativity was spot on! The plot was certainly interesting, and oh yeah, there's a cliffy in the end:P
Strength: Imaginative, Creative, nice characters(villains), plot. Weakness: Some of the writing styles...but, it's still good:)
