I really loved theThis was my first Kristen Callihan book and most definitely won't be my last! The Hook Up was so refreshing and perfectly written. I really loved the role reversal between Anna and Drew. The fact that Anna was making the rules and controlling the situation where as Drew clearly wanted more from the start.
Drew 'Battle' Baylor is the Jock Quarterback that every guy wants to be and every girl wants to sleep with. Anna Jones is the quiet shy girl who escaped High School to become one of the thousands hidden in the crowd.
“I loved being one of thousands, not one of a hundred. Because I could start fresh, be myself without being told that being myself wasn’t good enough.”
Anna didn't have it easy in High School and wants to remain anonymous. The spotlight is not something Anna enjoys nor wants to be a part of. Falling for the Star QB is not part of her plan. When she first meets Drew she takes him at face value and decides he's like every other jock she's ever encountered.
Anna and Drew have some crazy exciting sexual tension that builds pretty quickly and there first encounter is not overly romantic and Anna set the precedence for how there Hook Ups will go.
“I’ve just experienced the hottest, most erotic, life-changing sex of my life, and I don’t think I’m going to get a repeat. Tonight was obviously an ill-advised hook up for her. And I’m so screwed because it was the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Drew Baylor is not your typical QB, He's had a really good life thats centred around his love and passion for football. He's worked hard to become the star QB and will work even harder to make it pro.
During the first quarter of this book I thought I had Anna and Drew all worked out and knew exactly where the story was going. I was completely wrong, Kristen has written an original story line and created characters and a world that is freshly new and addictive. I was really impressed with this story and glad I read it as soon as I did. Anyone who uses references to Captain America ( <3 ), Iron Man or Gandalf has my completely and utter devotion to every book they write!
This was a 5* read for me and I can't wait to continue the series!
My Drew 'Battle' Baylor AKA Eric Decker
My Anna Jones AKA Scarlett Johansson (Soon as one of the boys mentioned her, she was the only person i could picture as Anna!) ...more

I don't even know how to begin the review for this book. I absolutely fell in love with the story that Penelope Douglas created. Her writing style is perfect, her story and character development is perfect.
I ADORED this book. Reading the title and the blurb I was sure that no matter what Jared did I was not going to like him. Oh how wrong I was!
Tate arrives back in her town for her last year of High School after escaping for a year to France. Escaping from who the person she cared and loved more then most. Jared was Tate's best friend for years but one summer away fro her changed everything.
Jared returned home and angry and bitter boy who took EVERYTHING out on Tate. Jared and his friend Madoc spend there days spreading rumours and playing pranks on Tate. Tate takes it all and holds in the anger for a very long time. After finding herself in France she comes back stronger and no longer prepared to take whats throw at her.
“You were my tempest, my thunder cloud, my tree in the downpour. I loved all those things, and I loved you. But now? You’re a fucking drought. I thought that all the assholes drove German cars, but it turns out that pricks in Mustangs can still leave scars.”
After a few run ins we start to learn more about the history of Tate and Jared's friendship, Jared also gives away a few things and the story starts to development into a romance you don't expect.
Reading Bully I honestly was not sure where the story line was going to go and how the characters were going to development. It seemed like Tate was becoming the bully in trying to be stronger then she was and perhaps she did for a short time but the guilt she felt over her actions redeemed her. When you lear of Jared's backstory its surprising and not what you would expect. The reasoning he gives for what he does to Tate doesn't seem to justify the horrible things he puts her through but I guess without going through what he did and being in that situation you can't really say how you would react.
“He put a hand to my face and guided my eyes to his. "We never lost that. As much as I tried, I could never erase you from my heart. That's why I was such an asshole and kept guys away from you. You were always mine."
"Are you mine?" I asked as I wiped my tears.
He kissed the corners of my mouth softly, and I felt the heat rise up my neck. "Always have been," he whispered against my mouth.”
I was incredibly impressed with Bully and can't wait to see how the series continues.
