1. This book is full of really hot sex scenes. If that's what you're looking for, you'll love this. 2. Brandon was a total jerk, I don't know why Nicky put up with so much of his shit. 3. The cop drama/mystery aspect of this book never really came together. I couldn't tell if it was all supposed to be one case or if it was three separate cases and if it was three cases than what the hell was Nick doing consulting on the other two? He barely had reason to be on the one. And if it was one case, well, it wasn't very well crafted because I couldn't tell. Confusing at best. 4. Aside from the mystery falling flat, this was much better written than the previous book, Cheating Chance. This book was not weighed down by irrelevant detail. The exposition was organic and pertinent. 5. Lots of spelling errors and misplaced punctuation. (less)

But I don't really see this as a BDSM book. Kind of a kitchen sink book with a few BDSM scenes that in my opinion were lite.
Anyhoo.... this was a really enjoyable WIP - lucky for us, Isa is a fast writer so it wasn't torture waiting for each new chapter. I didn't get enough Harry and Logan for my tastes, the wrap-up was a bit hasty, but the experience was fun.(less)

This could have been more like a 4 to 4.5 star read, but this book got completely bogged down in irrelevant detail and gratuitous description. I truly appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into the research of this book. But sometimes when an author does research for a book, it's more to help them know where they're coming from and a lot (or most) of the stuff they learn won't ever make it to the book. Just because you researched it does not mean you must squeeze it in. This book needed a much stricter editor.
I was also quite bothered by an event that happened around the middle of the book. One of the characters reacted in a way that seemed extremely out of proportion and out of character, and it totally yanked me out of the story. It all turned out okay, but it seemed like conflict for conflict's sake and it was really a WTF moment. It could have been handled much better; it almost felt like that part of the book was written by someone else.
Aside from those two issues, this was really good. The mystery/suspense aspect was really original and interesting and the romance was scorching. I can't wait to read the sequel.(less)
