Sun Damage is the third and final installment in the Sunshine series. Sophie has overcome a lot in the last two books but the time has come when she can’t cheat death again. Now she’s become a vampire but it’s not going to be simple. Myles has told her the truth about her past, her father and his part in her life prior to the meeting show knows about. As if learning the truth isn’t enough she also is still being haunted by Michael.
When the band gets the chance at a tour Sophie doesn’t want to pass it up but being around so many humans as a new vampire won’t be easy. While Sophie has pushed Myles her maker and former boyfriend far away she struggles to cope with becoming a vampire at least she’s not going it alone. Her bother is by her side but even he can’t help her and he’s forced to reach out to Myles for fear of losing his sister. However Sophie isn’t transitioning like a normal vampire. Will they be able to save her before it’s too late?
I like Sophie she has issues, she’s broken but with Myles by her side she’s grown into an amazing character. Granted things are a little rocky in this book for them but love isn’t perfect. I have enjoyed reading her story watching her grow as a character. She has some really great friends which support her throughout the series which I this is great. Then we have Myles his name doesn’t do him justice he’s a vampire but he doesn’t sparkle and he’s not a crazy blood sucker. He’s an honest nice guy who happens to love a very special girl.
I have bittersweet feelings about this book because it is a conclusion and I’m honestly not ready to let go. That being said the author does a brilliant job ending the series it’s a total tear jerker in the end with good tears. The author has taken the popular human and vampire romance but with her own unique twist creating an amazing story that captures the heart as well as the imagination. All of the books have been hard to put down it’s easy to get lost in Sophie and Myles story. The characters are easy to connect with I know they stole my heart. Aside from the romance the series is packed with action, and suspense that take the reader on an emotional rollercoaster. I loved the series it’s one of my favorites that I know I will be reading again in the future. I’m sad to see it end but I think the ending was well done so I'm ok with saying goodbye for now. It’s one of those stories that teens as well as adults will enjoy. I couldn't put it down finished it in one day. (less)

Faye is nervous about the upcoming Culling for the covens only because when she was a child her mother had a vision that she would be a Defect neither a witch or hunter. In Faye’s world after you turn 18 it’s determined which role you will fill either the magic using witch or the hunter who does the fighting. When her Culling goes wrong and instead of being a Defect like she was expecting the truth comes out that Faye is not bound like the others to another but she is her own balance.
Faye isn’t your typical novice she’s one of a kind that the elder decides to keep a secret for fear of what will happen if the others learn that she isn’t bound like they are. Faye has enough on her plate with being different her parents are also missing without a trace and no one knows where they are. As Faye is trained to be a hunter by Jaxen and Gavin both Hunter’s in the Night Watchmen it’s their witches that teach her the way to be a witch. While Faye is trying the truth a secret she confides in her best friend who isn’t have the best time with her new partner. Will Faye be able to save the coven as things start to go wrong? What secret is he hiding? Will she find her parents?
I really like Faye as a character she’s unique and not afraid to fight for what she believes in even if it risks herself. I've got a soft spot for the kick-ass-heroines but still have their humanity which Faye has and I like. I wasn't sure about Jaxen at first but as the book progressed he grew on me. I even found myself feeling sorry for Jezi even though she’s not a nice person but she has her reasons.
I really enjoyed Everlasting it’s one of those books that draws the reader in right from the start and is hard to put down. The author has taken the witch concept putting her own unique spin creating a brilliant story. Everlasting has it all loaded with action, secrets, paranormal beings, mean girls, sexy men, and even a little romance. I found the characters engaging you can’t help getting sucked into Faye’s story, even capturing a spot in your heart. I found the whole story beautifully written it’s a perfect start to an exciting new series that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I honestly finished Everlasting in the course of an afternoon unable to put it down, and now I can’t wait to read the next installment. The author is new to me but after reading this book I plan to check out her dragon series. It’s one of those books teens as well as adults will enjoy one of my new favorite witch series. (less)

She’s just starting out so her Inn only has a two star rating which she’s hoping to improve like her parents inn. Her parents are missing but no one knows what happened to them. On the plus side she does have a permanent guest an alien who’s past is marked with millions of deaths loves funyuns and mello yellow. As an innkeeper Dina’s job is to protect her guests which she does with the Inns magic, and not get involved with what’s going on outside the inn. Her only goal is to make the inn a success and that one day she will have a guest recognize the picture of her parents giving her the clue she needs to figure out what happened.
When the neighbor dogs start turning up dead and the alpha werewolf down the street doesn't seem to be doing anything it’s up to Dina to figure out what’s going on before the prey is something bigger like her neighbors. Dina is successful in slaying a few of the stalkers who came onto the inns property but when the vampires soldiers show up wanting to take out the alien that is sending the stalkers she steps back. When the vampires are all but wiped out by the alien except for the knight who is saved by Sean the alpha werewolf they agree it’s time to work together. As if she doesn’t have enough problems the vampire Marshall Arland shows up to take care of the problem. Is Dina strong enough to take on the alien and will her Inn survive? What about the two new powerful men in her life who both hint at being interested?
Dina is a fascinating character I found her captivating because I’ve never read a book with a character like her. I liked her right from the start she’s down to earth, smart and easy to connect with I couldn’t help getting sucked into her story. We are introduced to two guys whom I think we will see more in the future an alpha strain werewolf and a vampire but this one doesn’t sparkle in the sunlight. I’m not sure which one I like more they are both yummy. Just going to have to wait and see.
I was enchanted by the idea for clean sweep before picking up a copy. I’ve also enjoyed other books by this author before so I knew this one would be awesome. Clean sweep exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. The concept is unique and captivating the whole idea for who Dina is was intriguing. The characters are easy to connect with I know I was sucked into Dina’s story by the first few pages. The author has also given us two potential love interests that are unlike your everyday vampire and werewolf. I’m so torn I want to scream from the rooftops team Sean but darn there is something about the vampire Arland who doesn’t sparkle in the sun. I like that the story show’s there is a bigger world out there than just earth. I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment. It was a very well written story that’s action packed with a kick ass heroine who wields a broom. I just loved the whole book it It’s one of those book it was exactly what I needed. Dina is going in my top ten favorite kick ass characters. My only complaint is I should have gotten the paperback instead of the ebook. I love the cover. (less)

The story starts with Valerie living in L.A. in a trailer with her sisters and mother with big dreams of getting out and making it to the big screen. Her dreams are cut short when she’s attacked outside a club fatally stabbed three times. What should have been the end is really just the beginning as to her friends and family she’s dead but in Anchorage Alaska she lives to become a vampire hunter.
While Valerie isn’t thrilled with the prospect that there are vampires she doesn't really have a choice. After successfully slaying her first vampire she has contact with and attempting to slay the second one she’s sent off to bootcamp to learn to protect hunt. Her first assignment is an informant because her blood doesn’t have the lethal effect they hope. She’s sent to high school to start dating a very old vampire named Fane. What was supposed to be easy is anything but, and what if Fane isn’t just any vampire.
I’ve read all the books up to this point and now that I know why Valerie is the way she is makes sense. Her store touched my heart she’s not had the best life and her situation sucks but she’s made the best of it and grown into a tough vampire hunter. I’m hoping to see more from here in the series because I enjoy her character. I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole Fane thing, I want to like him but I'm just not sure.
Evil Red is another fantastic installment in the Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter Series. The story focuses around Valerie her transition to vampire hunter which I found fascinating. She’s one of those mean girls you just have to root for because deep down she’s not a bad guy. I love the unique concept for the vampires and how the hunters are created based on their blood type. The characters are easy to connect which makes it easy to fall in love with the story. The author has written a beautiful story that captures the heart as well as the imagination. While the Novelette is short its action packed from start to finish I found it impossible to put down till I was done. The Aurora Sky series has quickly stolen my heart because my favorite vampire series so far, and it’s my first I suggest when you save vampire books. I really love this series, and what’s not to love with the beautiful covers. If you love vampires who don't sparkle and kick ass heroines this is the series to check out. (less)

While Jennifer’s goal is to make sure the press conference goes off without a hitch but her plan for perfect goes up in the air with a young mother shows up wanting to leave her baby with Jennifer to raise her. Waiting in the wings to get the story is Ian a reporter who’s been all over the world. While Jennifer is hesitant to take the baby the young mother is determined it has to be her and after agreeing she knows this little girl will change her life.
As Jennifer falls in love with little Rosalie she knows that she must keep her daughter safe being reminded of the child she lost. She also begins to fall in love with Ian after spending some time but it’s not meant to happen since he’s going to head off to New York for his new assignment. As a secret from her past threatens her future Jennifer will risk it all to save the little girl she loves.
I love Jennifer she’s an honest good person with a good heart who I couldn't help connection with. I wasn't sure how I felt about Ian but as the story progressed I liked him more and more. The story has a interesting selection of characters that I’m hoping may appear in future books from this series.
The Would-Be Mommy is exactly why I love Harlequin novels so much. I was turned on to Harlequins a s a young teenager a long time ago by my grandmothers. The book has characters you can connect with I couldn’t help feeling Jennifer’s emotional feelings as everything happened. I even felt bad for the McCoy’s like Jennifer did. I love that the book has everything it needs to tell an enchanting story. I really enjoyed the story it was hard to put down. I actually finished the book in just a few short hours. This is my first book by this author but I know already I’m hoping to read more from Safe Haven. A novel worth reading, I may even read it again when I get the baby bug and have a craving for happy ever after. (less)
