This story takes place in 1935 during the Great Depression. Moose's sister, Natalie, has a disability, which is what we now know as autism. They devise a plan to make money by telling their classmates that Al Capone can do their laundry. Moose eventually comes up with idea to ask Al Capone for help with getting his sister enrolled in the special school. He slips him a note, and a few weeks later Natalie is accepted.
