She has not asked me to review the books but I have finished this one and would like to review it regardless.
I first read one of Nash's books because I was the lucky recipient of a First Reads giveaway...I loved the book and was expecting any other books of hers to be cookie cutter books...I am thrilled to say I couldn't be farther from the truth thinking that! I can't wait to put my nose in more of her books now.
This book is set in the present and ties in events from the past and deals with past lives. While this book could have been confusing to read, Nash enables the reader to follow the tale in such a smooth manner that it is becomes one of those books you kick yourself for reading late at night for...yes, it's that hard to set down. Throw in a twist of romance, mystery and a medium and you find yourself immersed in the story.
It is here that I have to thank the author for strong characters. They are realistic enough that they have their doubts but strong enough to push through fears or have too much pride to not do something.
Beautifully written and wonderful to read. ...more

I picked one of the worst times to try to read this book as my work had so many distractions keeping me away from it once I started. I was happy to find it didn't matter where I stopped, that I could pick it up again and quickly catch up again. A huge plus as a working mom of three.
I found myself liking the Marin character more than Zack the main character. Perhaps he was too young for me to like but the old spirit and storyline for Marin intrigued me and I hope we read more about him in the next book...assuming there will be one.
This is an easy read with short chapters and tells a very interesting tale. I loved the morgue scene...I was hooked from that point on.
A great vampire read without the sparkly vampires. This is 100% original vampires, plus some. Grab this book if you are a lover of vampire books.

I started this book and had to set it down to head out to do some volunteer work...before I did so, I made the mistake of telling my 15 year old son how much I was loving this book and how he would enjoy it too...He took that to mean start reading this book and it became a fight to keep the book hidden so I could read this!
Characters that should take you into a fantasy world are able to come alive and pull you into the book. They are likeable and believable. They hurt, they bleed, they die. More importantly, they fight for a better existence. The interactions are engaging and each one seems to fill in another missing piece of the puzzle.
The plot is intense and full of action. While we know super abilities don't exist, we begin to believe they do and start to think about the questions that are bound to arise in your own head.
This book is written in such a way that you don't get caught up in the question of believability but the incredibility of the possibility and the passion that an individual would have.
This book will cause something within you to stir...a hope for change...or maybe it's an excitement to see the next book on store shelves.
My son has almost completed this book and I will let you know what he thinks when he is finished...and as for me...This is a solid 5 out of 5 and that comes with a guarantee from me that this will be one book that will make your list of books to read in 2013. Enjoy!!!
