Katniss is a girl that took her sisters place and Peeta the boy tribute that was picked, they have to battle 22 tributes to the death if they want to win. Haymitch is their trainer that help them through the game. Throughout the game the sponsors from the capital can buy food, weapons, and other helpful thing and Haymitch will decide weather or not to give it to them at that point in time. If they win the game they git a lot of money and a large new house. Katniss and Peeta go through many hardships in the game.
My opinion of this book is that it’s great. The theme of the book is exciting because it has the capital that controls everything. It’s also based in is a time that is so different from ours making it even more thrilling. The delivery of the story make it so that you don’t want to stop reading it. It makes it so you keep wondering what is going to happen to them. The style of the book was exciting because it has all kinds of twists and turn. I think the author did a great gob writing this book because it pulled me in, due to the events that the characters go through. I think the reader should read this book because it has events the draw you in closer.
I would give The Hunger Games a 5. With all the fighting, killing and trickery in the book, it makes it exciting. Like when Katniss kills the boy from district 1 “ My arrow drives deeply into the center of his neck. He falls to his knees and halves the brief remainder of his life by yanking out the arrow and drowning in his own blood.”(233 Collins) this shows how Katnisses first human kill is described. The direction of the killing makes it interesting. The game make it exciting and interesting because it changes the people when they are playing. The character act like they didn’t care about kill the other tributes.(less)

The book Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins is a thriller about Katniss and Peeta who are tributes that are being forced to go back into the Hunger Games, in this game, they are picking from people that have all ready gone in. The president is blackmailing Katniss so that she wont feed the fire of the rebellion by saying, “Any girl who goes to such lengths to preserve her life isn’t going to be interested in throwing it away with both hands. And then there’s her family to think of.”(Collins 19-20) That shows how he is threatens her to get what he wants. All Katniss wants to do is keep her family and friends safe.
My opinion is that this book is that it’s better than the first book by a long shot. The theme of this book with the oppressive government made the book exciting because they made them go back into the games, which I though was completely unfair. The delivery of this story is that it makes you keep wondering what will happen next. The style of the book was exciting because it made me think about so many things at the same time. My opinion is the author did a great job with the storyline because it kept me wondering what would happen to Katniss. I think you the reader should read this book because it was so much fun to read. If you have read Hunger Games then you wont be able to take you hands off Catching Fire
I would give Catching Fire a 5. With all of the exciting events throughout the book I was always worried for Katniss. Also, I was shocked with all the changes they went through like “the male and female tributes will be reaped from their existing pool of victors” (Collins 172) showing that things are not the same because they usually pick from all the people that have not gone before and people that have can’t go again. Another thing is she did not play the game the same way as she did in the first book because she wants to keep Peeta alive. Finally, the new characters really made this book very exciting. This book drew me in further than any other book before.(less)
