The whale helps the mouse reach the shore and later on in the story, the mouse finds a way to help out the whale. There are many point in the story in which you could discuss with students types of animals (mammals, etc) as well as their habitats (the whale makes the point of saying that the mouse does not look like he belongs in the water). Towards the end of the story, there is a good example of force and moving an object.(less)
