Excellent read and it was nice to have Sookie take a break from so much action all at once without being boring. It was nice to seem some semblence of peace or mild action for our beleaguered heroine. After having endured so much the last few books it was nice to see the sun shine in Sookie's world. I was disappointed by the obvious cliffhanger involving her relationship with Eric. It deserved some additional information before it wrapped considering this book was light on action however it moved at a pace that kept me going the entire 8.5 hours of my shift. Mrs. Harris is very creative in her attempt to take the drama down a notch and allow Sookie to live out her everyday existence with only mild interruptions from the supernatural world. It gave me hope that when Mrs. Harris ends this series whether Sookie stays with Eric or returns to Bill or remains a single hottie in Bon Temps she can and will have a life. It will still continue to be interesting no doubt and her good natured fae heart will continue to do what she thinks is right as opposed as to what would just make her feel happy or seemingly safe. I have become completely immersed in Frater's version of the Zombocolypse. The set of rules are in accordance with what we have come to appreciate about Zombies with a few deviations. I love that it's clear she thoroughly researched the process by which the world would shut down if such a thing occurred. It reminds me a of a less intense version of World War Z(one of my all time favorite books). I have gotten my Zombie loving high schoolers completely intangled in the story. Initially they scoffed at an audio book (how boring right?) now they request to continue to listen every morning or every time we get in the car... Excellent listen!(less)

I work in a call center and just finished nursing school so physical books unless they nursing manuals or Charlaine Harris are a no no. This book was a remarkable crescendo to a very strong trilogy. I was amazed at the simplicity with which Mrs. Frater told such a complicated story. This Texan world of Zombies was a treat to my ears and the narration was done with superbly. I came to know Katie and Jenni as if I was watching the action unfold before my very eyes. This book made me actually cry when vital characters met their untimely demise. I become so emotionally vested in this book that I found it very difficult to stop the narration wanting to know how it turned out but not wanting the book to end. I was not disappointed by the extreme loss of life in this book and it seemed to fit with what I envisioned a Zombocolypse would do to those who survived those intial days. I hope that the future will hold at least one more novel or novellas to help those of us emotionally entangled with this trilogy keep the living and deceased characters alive.... Looking forward to reading more from you Mrs. Frater...Simply impecable! (less)

I have always been a fan of Jane Austen and loved Pride n Prejudice along with Sense n Sensibility as two of my favorite stories. Why? I am a girl duh. When I heard this story was exactly as it was written by our dear Mrs. Austen but with the addition of some of my favorite cinematic and literary nemesis, Zombies, I wasn't too thrilled. Then oh let's say it's day after Thanksgiving and I am a die hard shopper who wants to get the Xbox with Rock Band whatever number for her three daughters who are almost completely video game illiterate by my own design. Sitting their in my lawn chair that I snagged from the Garden area of my local Walmart I grabbed a copy of the book from the makeshift Barnes & Nobles section of Walmart. Wanting to conserve my cell battery I decided to read this book, hoping to either join the hype or read the next issue of Cosmo if this bores me to tears I settled down for my four hour wait. Four hours? Yes I get their on Thanksgiving right after my turkey is internally processed I am heading to my local Walmart. Hey I am a single parent on a very strict budget! Do not presume to judge me! LOL Any whoo I couldn't believe what I was reading. I was consumed with the novel within a few hours and much to my luck or chagrin they announced we could actually get our items before the sale started. The line moved quickly I had to abandon my ill-gotten folding chair and novel to get my babies an Xbox (the book was not on my very calculated list of purchases). A few days later as more luck streamed my way I created an account with Audibles. Boom first audible book I received with my free credit was Pride n Prejudice and Zombies. I could hardly tear my ears away from listening to the book. Pesky nursing school was taking up all my free time and I was forced to space my listening pleasure out over weeks to when I was in the car so that I could focus on saving lives.
I was not disappointed whatsoever! This book was both my beloved Pride and my other love Zombies. I understand those hardcore Austen fans that see this as a blasphemous product of capitalism. To that I would sort of agree having really wished I had thought of it first capitalism = money which comes in handy! However I commend Graham for taking the plunge and risking his potential literary career. If this book had received nothing but horrific criticism it would have left him writing those clever jingles found under juice caps (i.e. Snapple and cheap beer). Thankfully he was able to give Zombies life so to speak in Austen's world beautifully. I think I replayed the section of Lady Catherine's and Elizabeth's final match a million times laughing as only us nerds could over such a ridiculous and entertaining sequence of action.
I recommend if you are a die hard Austen fan do not read this book and sully your precious love of all things Austen. If you find you have a funny bone or two and think that taking anything too seriously makes life suck even more then grab the audio version of this book and let some voice actor do all the work while you enjoy all the pleasure this book afforded me on many occasions since my wonderful free credit purchase. If the language used by Austen is no match for your skill set then leave the rest of your brains at home (there are zombies duh) and enjoy a fun read! I surely did...Braiiinnnns oh wait it was just Cauliflower.... (less)

Although this book is nothing like 50 shades I was on the edge of my seat reading every paragraph. This book in the series was intense, well written, and very entertaining. As a huge fan of Greek mythology I was pleased to see so much incorporated into this book. Isadora and Demetrius' struggle to find a balance was very moving for me. I am excited to get to book 4. What a great series!(less)

I did enjoy the main characters very much but there was just something missing from this book. I love writing stories for my co-workers to absorb themselves in and I know how exhilarating it can be to put your characters through trials and tribulations they can learn from. Gideon is flawed and I understand why are characters are introduced flawed so they can learn as the story progresses. While I find the physical description and his sexual prowess mouthwatering he is a little too flawed for me. I am not sure a woman would be able to really deal with his constant screw ups. Eva has her flaws and we are privy to their origin as the story moves. I had the feeling that Gideon's story is forthcoming in another book but it was distracting to keep having it surface but not quite materialize. His actions would have sent me screaming for the hills scared to death. With all this being said I was still pleasantly if not perversely satisfied with the read. I am suffering from FWS (Fifty Withdrawal Syndrome) and felt somewhat sated after reading Bared to You. It had some really hot scenes that had me re-reading them taking a few notes for later. Given MY as in My dislikes of the book I would still highly recommend it if you too are suffering with a little FWS.(less)

I would love for her never to use the words "lips in a thin line", or "deliciously" again but hey I can over look their repetition. This book was sexy good fun! Definitely some things in here worth trying with a special someone. (less)

I am impressed with the way this entire trilogy has played out. As an aspiring writer I am impressed with how this Cinderella story has played out for this author. I have had countless discussions regarding these books and regardless of what some people say about the books they are fun to listen too (I love audio books). E.L. James has a very natural flair for sexual and erotic details. While she does her best to paint a vivid picture of Anastasia's surroundings, feelings, and internal struggles (love her inner goddess) sometimes it is over the top. However it is worth reading if for no other reason than to progress the story to the tortured man we have all come to love Christian Grey. The wonderfully complicated world of Christian Grey unfolds ceremoniously before us and it was nice to have a naive Anastasia lead us on the path of discovery. Had her lead character been worldlier I do not think the execution would not have been as good. I keep hearing about people who feel the book is misogynist and sets women back. I was given a quick summary on the book and did my own research before hopping aboard the Fifty Express and guess what? I found out that if the synopsis of a book isn’t ANYTHING that I would be interested in reading then I wouldn't read it. Fortunately for me I am into all sorts of Kinky Fuckery (KF). If this book review can help one doubter to go purchase a Danielle Steele (vomiting profusely) instead of buying this book, bashing it all over the internet, and then having the audacity to look down on those of us who love it then my work her is done. Do not mistake my love of KF I am very well read and very well educated so it really does take all types. The three audio books have become my favorite ITunes playlist. It was a treat getting to know the enigmatic Mr. Grey and stretching my own imagination where KF is concerned. The great think about this book is that it is a love story hidden underneath the erotic undertones of a sexually charged backdrop. I hope that E.L. James finds some way to continue the series or develops more tantalizing reads for us heathens who devoured every word in the world of Anastasia and Christian Grey. Were this man real we would all be in line to sign the contract! I know I would hard limits and all...(less)

From the moment he was introduced I had a bit of a crush on the resident bad boy, Orpheus. This book definitely solidified my crush on him. What an amazing transformation for his character? Also to see Isadora rise to the challenge of being queen was very pleasant. As a writer myself, I love that authors have the power to make their characters evolve. That is so true in this book. Not only is their love here but the characters actually learn from their mistakes. We should all be so lucky in real life. (less)

I kind of saw that coming but it was done so well. I am listening to the audio again just to make sure that I didn't miss anything important. This was a fine way to wrap up a very strong trilogy. Kudos to Mira Grant for doing such an amazing job on the science. As a science nerd I loved the intimate details about the Kellis-Amberly Virus throughout the entire series. It just all works well especially on Audio how the voices do a very good job of alternating perspectives. I won't give away any of the story except it did answer my first intial question I had after getting to know Shaun and Georgia. It's worth the read (or listen) if you are into zombies, goverment conspiracies, and science. If you are not into these genres do not read the book. It kills me to keep reading reviews that start with "I am not into this kind of book and I now know why". Ugh do not read books whose synopsis tells you that it is not in a genre you find UN-interesting. -EXITS SOAP BOX- BACK TO BOOK REVIEW- I was biting my nails by the end of this book and felt that it ended as best as could be expected given the circumstances the characters were in. It was bittersweet to listen to the book considering Feed had me crying my eyes out towards the end as if I had traveled with After The End Times as a fellow reporter. I highly recommend the trilogy it was a great discovery considering I simply googled good zombie books and discovered Mira Grant on about six top ten list of zombie need to reads. I will now add Mira Grant to my list of Zombie need to read after Rhiannon Frater and of course lord and master Max Brooks. (less)

If you are a fan of Greek mythology and romance then this is the series for you. Naughton is very detailed in creating the worlds involved with this story. I was having serious withdrawal symptoms after listening to the other three books about a bazillion times. I needed to get my zombie fix after my friend lent me a boatload of books on Kindle and Nook, not one zombie in the bunch. This was just what the nurse (i.e. myself) ordered. Loved the back stories. It's one of the things I love about writing is creating those wonderful histories for the characters.
