I had been waiting what seemed like an eternity (but not really) for this book. I loved the first two books and felt at home with the characters. After the ending of the second book, I had to know what happened next.
Sophie Galen is trying to move on and be happy while at the same time she is determined to find a way to bring back Marek. She goes to a concert with her friends and is bitten by a werewolf and told she is meant to be mated to the Were King. Sophie is shocked and beyond upset about this at first. She tries and tries to tell the Were King, Dierk, that she is not meant to be his but Dierk has his mind set that the moon chose her and that it is destiny. Dierk then courts her the most that she will allow. During the courting, Sophie tries to prepare herself for when she is supposed to turn into a werewolf, continues to search for a way to bring back Marek, and tries to save Rodrian from being crushed by his mate.
I was a bit irked at first by Dierk being a new love interest for Sophie because I felt that she was meant to be with Marek. As the story went on and we got to learn more about Dierk, I found myself liking him more and more. I was anxious to see how this story would end though...mostly because I was torn between which ending I wanted for Sophie.
I felt bad for Sophie on so many levels. Her life just seemed like nothing would ever be simple for her. She is torn romantically, has to deal with snobby interns and infuriating mates/wanna-be-mates, numerous attacks/threats on her life, and her future seeming to change every other day by some new dilemma.
In the end, I was beyond happy with the ending for Sophie. It felt so right for her and it was nice to see her finally at peace with everything and happy.
I was on such an emotional roller-coaster throughout this book but it was a great ride. I was irritated, mad beyond belief, bawling my eyes out, surprised, and happy while reading this book. I would happily re-read the whole series over and over!(less)

I literally cannot express how much I love this series! I read the first book in the series, Bleeding Hearts, and could not wait for Blood Rush. It starts right where the first book ended, with Sophie recovering emotionally and physically from "The Crap That Almost Killed Her". I personally couldn't wait for this book because I knew there would be a lot of my favorite character, Rodrian, from the blurb. I wasn't sure how things would be between all of the characters going into this book after the way the first book ended, but Ash Krafton never fails to keep things as realistic as can be with the characters issues. Even though they are DemiVampires, and Vampires, and Werewolves, and Oracles.....they all seem like they are real with realistic issues with themselves, life, and relationships.
Sophie is trying to get her life back on track even though it all seems like it is trying its hardest to fall apart. While she keeps moving to try to avoid her new werewolf stalker, she unexpectedly hears from her ex's (Marek's) younger brother, Rodrian. He makes a deal with her to give her Marek's mansion if in exchange she will help him look after his daughter, Shiloh who is dealing with DV issues. She agrees because she gets rid of her stalker and gets some of her friends back. If things couldn't get better, she hears from another Oracle/Sophia and learns that she will be visiting her to teach her more about being a Sophia. As expected, things take a few nasty turns here and there. The ending shocked and killed me though with what happened with Marek and when Rodrian's surprise guest (not saying who) showed up at the last few paragraphs! I couldn't believe it and immediately saw all the drama that will surely ensue in the third book.
Due to the amazing Ash Krafton's writing, I laughed, sympathized, gasped in shock, yelled, and cried while reading this book. I love all these characters and this world so much! I cannot wait to read the third book and see what's next for these characters.(less)

The writing is great and the story is so refreshing to all of the vampire books that are out now. I loved Sophie, she is smart and witty and I love her sarcasm. Marek is the perfect bad boy with issues but has a sensitive side. I think my absolutely favorite character in the whole book is Rodrian, Marek's brother, because he has sexy features and is just hilarious! This book has romance, action, mystery, and Egyptian history. I cannot wait for Blood Rush to come out!!!(less)
