I always enjoy a wonderful holiday romance, and this one did not let me down. My only complaint is that I finished it way to fast! However, that is just how the book is written - fast paced. Amanda and Henry meet, spend all their time together, and are engaged all within 5 weeks. What a whirlwind. I love the addition of an ex-fiance and long-lost family. I hope to see these characters in another novel down the road....more

I found it to be very creative and a different spin on a Faerie tale.
Jason is a not so popular junior in high school who has started playing in a garage band as a guitarist. This band gets more time playing in the garage than any paying gigs. And to top it all off, his parents do not want him to hang out with or be part of the band. So, what does Jason really gain from being part of the band? He gets to spend time with the lead singer Erin. But, Erin has a boyfriend – how does he compete with that?
One evening while watching his little sister, something really strange happens. He is introduced to the Faerie realm, and in the end, he has the answer to the band’s problems. He finds some amazing instruments that turn their world around. The problem is, he did not come across these instruments honestly, and they have their own set of issues. Will it be worth it in the end?
This was a very quick read, and very enjoyable. It was anything but predictable. You have a high school mish-mash band trying to catch a break, a burger joint where the high school kids hang out, over-protective parents, and then throw the Faerie world into the mix. I just found it fun, fun, fun!!! ...more

Lynn Adams provides such non-stop action that you'll not know whether you are coming or going!! Not only that, but the amount of history and archaeological information that has gone into this story tells me that the author dove right in when he wrote this one. He had to put a significant amount of time into his research to make this so realistic.
To think all this happens when friends get together to go camping! I guess you just never know what could happen, huh? They boys stumble upon artifacts that launch them into a very harrowing adventure - with others who are very interested in what they have found. Could you imagine? It all becomes about trust - who can they trust?
I loved jonathon, Severino, and Tallie. They were very fun to tag along with. The skill and thought that they put into everything they did made the story what it is!! The fact that they cared enough about the significance of what they found puts them on a level far above their typical peers. The fact that they even had to think about whether that significance overshadowed their own survival was amazing!
The accuracy and truth behind the ancient facts / history truly made the story for me. Nothing was sugar coated, rather just put out there for the characters and the readers to take it at face value. I really appreciate the fact that the author put in the time and effort into the research.
This is a story that will spark the interest at any age group as well as male and female alike. It is very well put together - a fun action adventure....more

My heart was totally engrossed in the characters and their story from page one all the way to the end - family, friends, tragedy, small town, faith - what more could a reader ask for!!
Rosalind, Oh Rosalind! I totally fell in love with her. Everything about her was so real - to the point it hurt sometimes. My heart poured out for her; she has had such a rough life. And Grace, there were times I totally hated her, just to turn around and make me love her. I could not imagine having to deal with all the losses she had faced. The supporting characters: Mark William, Muriel, The Watson family - all very well-developed - loved each and every quirk!
How the authors were able to put so much reality and life into all the different situations in this book - and there were many. Wow! They either had to have personal experience or did some deep research. Everything had such an authenticity about it. Kudos to the authors!!!
Very strong emotions and faith-based / religious issues involved in this book. It is definitely not for the weak at heart! The family dynamics and relationships were very deep - the ups and downs really had me going. The religious controversies involved - I learned so much from. These issues truly made a person think hard and long about their own beliefs. I thought the authors handled this very well. They did not push heavily toward one belief or the other, but made it thought provoking so that the reader could make their own choices.
Wow, the end was so powerful! I really hated that the story ended. I am wanting to know what is going to happen next. I do hope that the authors consider writing a follow up - maybe dealing more with the mom's (Nellie's) side of the family - as this one is based on the father, Charlie's family.
This one is definitely a 5 star pick!!!! Get it - read it! You won't regret it!!...more
What an unexpected surprise! With the short blurb about the book, and a cover that did not reveal much, I was not sure what to expect with this one. What an unexpected surprise! Many supernatural romance stories kind of flow in a very similar fashion, but The Hollow of Mont Noir is unique. Nothing was predictable, and it just had a tone to it that made me want to dig into my comfy chair and stay put. The pacing was very comfortable - not too fact, but no where near slow. The writing style brought so much to the book. The author has a way with words that built intrigue, but not so much that you were stressed by the time you go an answer. Just a very pleasant book.
Allison in my opinion is pretty typical. She is not popular, but she is not in the lower rung of the student caste. She is faced with a very stressful situation - her brother comes up missing - and then her parents throw another twist on her - they are moving! And moving right before her senior year in high school!!! She hates the fact that she has had to move, but she deals with it. She makes some new friends, and even finds a boy she is immediately attracted to. However, this boy is not liked by others, has the nickname "Bulldog" and is known to be rude - a jerk. What we eventually find out about him, though, is really what makes the story!!!
It is in fact, the supernatural element that brings this book to life. Not only is Allison the "Crazy Animal Girl" with her Crittervision, but we find out she has some "magic in her blood". It is not what happens in school that holds the intrigue, it is what happens beyond the school day - starting when she goes for a run in the woods.
I did not know until the end that this book was the beginning of a series. I am so glad to hear it. There are so many unanswered questions I have. I am really hoping that these get answered in future books. I do think that Jennifer Krey is a very promising author, one that I know that I will seek out. I am so glad that I gave this book a shot - and so will you. ...more
