It is a companion story to Mingled Destiny and I was able to write a full review for this one as well for Hearts on Fire book reviews. Again, amazing writing, Eric Arvin is amazingly visual with his writing and just as with "Mingled", you get pulled into this amazing world that you feel like you are a part of. And as with the previous book, I would recommend it for anyone who loves drama, adventure and visceral worlds....however, you might not want to read it on an airplane as your fellow passengers may wonder why you all of a sudden start crying, then smile!!! Another favourite for 2013 releases....more

He's nervous because it's still high school and he knows what happened to the last guy who came out in high school, but this is important to him and Josh is important to him. They are lowkey at first, but then Chris asks Josh to dance, they are confronted by a couple of the jocks and after Chris' friend stands up beside them, all of them are escorted out of the dance!
This is such a good book, it was sweet, it was painful, it's a reminder of what goes wrong in life when you are young and idealistic, but what can be right about that too.
While the first book was about Chris just being comfortable in where he was at that time, this book is more about where he goes now, who he chooses to let control who he is and what he expresses.
The supporting characters are so good - his parents are amazing. And Josh? While Chris had moments of doubt in his own mind, when Josh asks him if it would have been easier had they not met, his doubts are gone because being with Josh just feels so right because he's happy and calm when he's with him. I admit Josh asking that made me cry, as did the experiences Chris had with the jocks in his town after prom, but the people who helped him surprised him and they are a definite sign of hope that not everyone is close minded!
I don't know if any further books are planned for these two and their journey, I'd be happy to read them if there were because I really love these characters!...more
What an amazing book! I absolutely loved how visceral this was and was fortunate to be able to write a full review for Hearts on Fire Book Reviews webWhat an amazing book! I absolutely loved how visceral this was and was fortunate to be able to write a full review for Hearts on Fire Book Reviews website. I have never written as many notes for a review as I did for this book, but it is an amazing journey - if you have ever seen a movie where you get pulled into the world of a book, that is what this book does. If you love fantasy and adventure with many layers of colour and texture to the writing, you will enjoy this book - and I highly recommend it to anyone! Easily one of my favourite books of 2013....more

At first, Taylor is not crazy about the circumstances, although he has no problem with Bergen showing up since he's interested in him too!
When the third item shows up, Taylor makes the connection on who has been behind this and is quite pleased, deciding to do a surprise of his own after hours - and then Bergen nearly does have to come to his rescue!!!
I thought this was a great short story, great characters - you know this is different for Bergen, not just a hook up, and you feel Taylor's vulnerability and anxiety.
A sweet romance set up and I would love to read more about the characters to see how things go with them! ...more
