I feel to many people are so used to her writing about vampires etc that they couldn't get into her take on dragons. Me personally? I thought it was fantastic. It was kind of a fresh of breath air. Julie's writing was still amazing like always and the story from the beginning had me very interested. I will admit I'm still trying to feel for Ember. I'm not sure I like her as much as I should yet. I think I'm slowly getting there. At least, unlike some main characters, she did have a brain and used it when she needed to. I also loved being able to look at several different point of views in the story. Getting inside 3 different characters heads was amazing. Being able to look at all different angles and feeling all the emotions each of them felt. I don't think I've read a story like that in awhile.
I really think this is a love it or hate it type of book. If you love Kagawa as much as I do then I think you should at least give it a shot. You may be surprised! I thoroughly enjoyed it though and I will for sure continue this series :)...more

The final book to this awesome trilogy was pretty darn great. I will admit, I had some "oh yeah!" moments as it has been a long wait and a long time since I've read the previous book. Remembering the little tid bits from here and there helped bring the story back together. I wasn't extremely thrilled on how things ended, but in all honesty, it's mainly because of my feelings towards some of the characters. Kathleen Peacock actually pulled things together in a pretty good "happily ever after" kind of ending.
Please be aware that there may be some spoilers ahead
I think I was the only one who was really on "Team Jason". Even from the previous books I just didn't have that great pull towards Kyle as I think everyone else did. I guess that was one flaw in not giving it a full 5 stars. Then all of a sudden Jason and Serena are a "thing" by the end of it?! Um wait, what the hell? I understand you have to fast forward a couple years but I just felt like you could have eased us into a Serena and Jason connection somehow before that and well, that upset me.
Hank surprised me and I was extremely happy to see him and so many other packs stand up to the world in the end. I grew a huge love for him for that, but I was sad to see Mac and her dad not really connect at all in this book. They were getting so much more closer in the last book that I felt their so called "re-uniting" just kind of fell off the cliff and disappeared and then, just like the Jason and Serena situation - BAM, jump a few years and they are happy close and wonderful. Wait- what?! Sigh, I know. I'm probably just being picky.
I was very happy to see Amy find peace. FINALLY. I loved her connection to the story through-out this whole series and I almost felt relieved once everything came to the surface and she was finally brought justice. How wonderful :)
Okay, enough I know. This was a great trilogy that I will most likely read again. I'm glad Kathleen didn't get to carried away and change her trilogy into a series that dragged on forever (like some authors like to do) and for that I respect her as a writer even more.
I'm very, very happy. To another ending of a great series -- thank you for storming through my imagination!

I feeFinal Review - Nov 2016 Well I can finally say that I have finished the final book in this Premonition series. Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed. I feel more than half of the book was a complete repeat of common issues that have already pretty much happened in the previous books. Also - way to many damn love interests. There seriously does not need to be that many men pinning for her love. I may have gone into this book already doubting it, cause we all had to wait so many years for it to come out. I actually picked up this book so many times without wanting to and then putting it back down again because I just couldn't be bothered. No, I shouldn't let that determine how the outcome of the book was but man oh man. Super upset about this and extremely underwhelmed.
Loved the first couple books from the series and I wish that the hype and love I had for those could have continued. Unfortunately, I probably won't read Bartol's other series.
update Dec 2015 -- ITS ABOUT EFFING TIME!!!!!! Sadly, because it's been like what - 3 years? - I have to re-read this series before FINALLY reading Iniquity. Not cool Amy, not cool. This better be a 5 star ending.
update: Okay seriously? My last comment was from 2 FREAKING YEARS AGO?!?!?!?! Come on Bartol. Please stop doing this to us. We get you are writing other series, but before you make those ones go any further you really need to finish this series so you can stop making us go crazy. If this goes on any longer I don't even know if I will be able to continue with this series. You can only read the previous books so many times before you give up not knowing what is going to happen next. So please, for the love of god bring your attention and amazing writing skills back into this world. We miss it way to much!!
Okay so this book clearly isn't going to be released in 2013. Can we have an actual release date so we're not going crazy over here?! :)...more

First off - there is just as much action and craziness packed into these 400+ pages then you can think of. Again one insane battle or run in with the evil Brennus, happens right after the next. But, in the small short moments we can kind of take a breath, we learn some fascinating new information about Evie and Russell's past.
-- Some spoilers ahead --
So we meet some very interesting characters in this book. One being Evie's so-called "rock star" father. I'm having mixed feelings about him. I think he truly means to protect Evie and help her, but at the same time I feel like he's hiding something from her. Something that she may not like. I'm hoping the 5th book will give some insight on this relationship. Then there is Xzavier. Um okay, how do I even try and understand him and his past with Evie. Clearly he is a huge part of Evie's life and past lives and maybe even going back as far as her beginning of existence. So will Evie really learn exactly how much she loved him? Or if he's truly being honest that they really were in love, once upon a time?? Sadly, I kinda feel for him and although I love Reed so much I'm really torn if it's right for Evie not to remember Xzavier and their history together at all?
Brennus was someone I used to be torn about. I liked his dark, mysterious, sexy way about him. I had a soft spot for him, as I'm sure Evie did too. Now? Pfftt!! I feel like reaching through and killing him myself!! But honestly? The way this book ended REALLY pissed me off. Yes that's right, Brennus is not dead. FFS people!! I'm sorry but him and his evil behaviour has gone on WAY to long and it needs to stop. It's dragging on far to long. This is the main purpose I did not feel that it deserved the full 5 stars. You had the perfect opportunity to get him out of their lives and still have other "threats" to worry about. But no, somehow he's still here! I do feel the series needs a fifth book though because their is so much information and history I want to learn about Evie's father and Xzavier, but it didn't need Brennus again. His story is getting repetitive. Also, I really want to learn about Russell's new aspire Anya. So many questions need to be answered. So with that, I give the book 4 stars because it still had me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. :)...more

I loved the 3rd instalment of the Premonition series. This book never slowed down one bit. From the start to the finish I felt like anything was going to come out and say "BOO!" And it pretty much did. Evie is still running for her life from seriously the whole world and beyond. We meet more crazy creatures and legends when we thought we had met them all. Each being a little bit more dangerous then the next. The fight for Reed and Evie to be together is pushed to the highest limit and it almost left like we truly would lose their relationship forever.
One thing makes me feel like I have turned to the dark side. I loooooved Brennus. Seriously something so dark and sexy about him. I still love Reed but is it bad to say that I wouldn't have minded Evie being stuck with a certain problem she was cornered too? One predicament that I really don't want to give away so I will just leave it at that.
Again we have a few chapters in Russell's POV and this time, I really enjoyed it. I felt like those POV's needed to be shared this time around. More drama, and seriously intense situations happen constantly in this book like no one was able to take a breath. LOVE THAT!
Finally a book in this series shines with 5 bright stars and I'm hoping the next one will do the same.' ...more

I really enjoyed the second book in the Premonition series. For the most part, I had no complaints. The action was great, the emotion was fantastic, and the story continued to get more intense. There were small things that bugged me a little bit.
Russell. He is someone who I grew towards a lot more in this book then in the first. He has changed so much, but on so many different good levels. I loved him more in every chapter. We get to see a couple chapters in Russell's POV, which I didn't really like to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I liked being in Russell's head for a little while but it was just for a brief moment. Either he should have had more chapters, or none at all.
Evie. The whole series is called Premonition, so why didn't we feel and see those premonition's more? We got a glance or two at the nightmares she is always having but it didn't feel like it mattered in this story. For the theme to be her premonition's I wanted to get into her head more and visualize those nightmares as much as she did. Evie is still extremely badass and still shows her human emotions which I thought was great because I don't want her to completely change and us not have that piece of Evie we all love and knew from the very beginning. This girl attracts everyone. Seriously. Can I be like Evie? Just for one day? Must be exhausting getting all the attention isn't it Evie?
Reed. No words needed for this guy. The only downfall I had was that we didn't get to spend as much time with him as we did in the first book. Reed is amazing. Evie and Reed test their relationship to the max and the outcome? Well I'll leave that out so I don't ruin anything ;)
Enough chit-chat. I need to move onto book 3. :)...more

She was strong willed and confident without coming off as a bitch. Once the story starting taking off I feel like she didn't have the reaction I expected once she realized something was different. How could she play it cool like it was some sort of game? I would have freaked out and demanded answers without backing down. Plus, I'm pretty sure I would have been more freaked out about it. Isn't she suppose to be super stubborn?? To me this book is really a love it or hate it type of story. There is no in between with this one. So at the beginning I will admit I was ready to give it 2 maybe 3 stars but I pushed through it. I hate putting a book down and not giving it a chance, so I kept going with it. I'm super happy I did because it honestly turned out incredible. Reed is outstanding! We can all move to the Reed fan club cause everyone knows he's amazing. I love the twists and the turns and the craziness that finally unfolds when Evie truly learns everything (well mostly) everything she needs to know. So honestly I say really give this series a shot. It will either surprise you, or disappoint you. So let yourself make that decision and jump into the crazy world of Evie! ...more

I have stepped back from this series for quite awhile so it took my memory a bit longer to get caught back up on the previous books in the series. I have been so excited to read about Michael as he's been my favourite since Elemental.
I loved seeing everything from Michael's POV. From someone who had to grow up and become a father figure at such an early age - Michael shows off such a tough exterior. Seeing how he could crack at the seams made my emotions swell. There was so much more anticipation and action with the Guides in this book that I think this is the first time we really don't have much interaction with the other Merrick brothers as we did before. This book is truly really all about Michael.
His relationship with Hanna doesn't really expand too much from what we knew in Secret. What I was happy about though, was that Michael finally had someone to talk to. Other than his brothers, someone who could understand him on a more mature level than his brother did. Hanna is one bad-ass who can totally hold her own. That's exactly what Michael needs.
I finished thinking this was the final book in the series and wasn't very thrilled with the ending. A little more exploring has told me there will be a 6th in the series. Can't wait!!...more

Behind all the drama, action and paranormal aspects to this book. There was so much reality that took place. So many real life experiences and heartbreaks that people go through every single day. I seriously couldn't have loved this book any more then I already do.
With Nick going through something millions of people go through, it was a nice break from all the elemental and guide nonsense. I always loved Nick but even after his novella when we learn the truth about Nick, I fell for him just a little bit more. Hell, I fell more in love with all the Merrick's. The support and love shown in those brothers made me feel SO proud.
Although I am super excited to read Micheal's book, because he is my favorite, this one almost matched it. Nick out of everyone really deserved all this happiness in his life. (view spoiler)[Even if it took to almost the end of the book to get it. (hide spoiler)]
We learn a lot about the boys past. Things that happened with Emily and Micheal, and even things about Tyler and his family. (view spoiler)[I becoming a big team Tyler fan. Don't judge me. He's perfect for Quinn (hide spoiler)] I also am happy that Quinn is getting support from friends she thought she had lost. It was about time that her "at home" issues are finally being dealt with.
Kemmerer did such an amazing job and really showing us readers that even though we may think we have problems, and although we may think we can't get through them we can. We always can. Plus we need to remember that sometimes our problems may not be as bad as others. The beautiful story opened my eyes to that.
I don't think I will ever be ready to let the Merrick brothers go. Love, love, love, LOVE.

What raw, amazing feelings in this book. It's about time we get a hot sexy twin especially, being so human and so realistic that it made me all warm and fuzzy inside. We all talk about these kind of guys we miss the opportunity with and think - "ah, he's either married or gay." Isn't that the truth most of the time?
This novella was perfect. Seriously, great! I now look forward to Nick's book even more now.
