It had a "bad boy" who wasn't and I love that. The whole "bad boys change for the girl" thing tends to be over done and having the "bad boy" already not one was refreshing. I enjoyed the characters and am hoping to see more of some of the secondary characters in the future. This was a quick read, which is good because I did not want to put it down.
If you are looking for a realistic story of young love, this is probably not for you. Some of the plot line points are a bit silly ( His job at his age, the way campus seems to work etc.). If, however, you are looking to get lost in a fantasy world where young love conquers all, there is a lot of chemistry and the characters are likable, this book is probably the perfect book for you. I will definitely be reading more by this author in the future. (less)

Trent is a typical alpha male who works along side her and has wanted her since they first met. While he does not know about her gift, he knows she is something special and has decided he is no longer willing to sit on the sidelines. If you love hot shifters, mysteries, strong and stubborn women, and true love (ok, and heat), this is probably a good choice for you.

In this book we meet Samira, a very strong and likable heroine who arrives back in the US after 5 years teaching in impoverished communities. Unfortunately, while she was gone, she also lost her beloved grandmother who leaves her pretty much everything. Add in a hot next door neighbor who happens to be her mate, a group of despicable relatives who all hate her and want her money, and some murder attempts and you have a super fun shifter read that will keep you glued to your ereader. This is the first book in her new series and it has a very different premise than her other shifter books. It has all the heat, sass, and humor, but unlike the stories of hers I have read, this world is a bit different. The poor Wickham sisters have turned 30 and now have to attend the Gathering to find their mates. Yes, two a piece. Each story in this series looks like it will focus on a different sister, in this case : Scarlet. If you like hot shifter stories that do not take themselves too seriously and non-traditional pairings (three people), then you will probably love this story. I am excited to see where the series goes from here! (less)

It has a hedgehog shifter! A hedgehog! This story has heat and was infused with the humor. I love that about Celia's books. True, fated love - Check. Humor - Check. Heat - Double Check. Adventure - Check. Characters I can relate to - Check. I simply enjoyed this story and hope that Celia and Mina co-write some more shifter crack. I know I will be first in line to get it when they do. (less)

While the couple is married and love each other, this book is not about that love. It is about their journey into BDSM and from everything I have read, Vivien has the most realistic portrayal of the lifestyle out there right now. If you are interested in seeing a couples journey into the lifestyle with no holds barred, this is probably right up your alley. To be honest, the title is a bit deceptive because this book is more about Eve's husband, Daniel than it is about her. This is part of a series of stories about Julia's "training". You definitely, for certain sure do not need to have read any of the previous stories to have this story be complete. The forward gives you all of the background you really need on Julia. It is not the "nicest" background stories a woman could have, but that is the only part of the story that is less than pleasant. Not that it needs to be said, but this book is not for those under 18 or those put off my kink. It is very descriptive ;) .(less)

I love shifters and idea that there were huge felines in Alaska intrigued me. This is the first book in her Alaskan Tigers series and the first book I have read by her. It will not, however, be the last. The world Marissa has created for her shifters is fascinating with likable characters that are easy to relate to. The story had a lot of very familiar elements of the typical shifter novels out there, but I love those, so it completely worked for me. The book got better as it went along and I have a feeling the series is going to get better and better with each book. If you love shifters, true fated love with some, but not "I hope my mom does not know I read this" heat, a lore that is a little bit different, and a bit of action, this book is probably right up your alley.
I would probably give this book a 3.5 if halves were an option.(less)

While you could probably read this book and enjoy it without having read the first two, you would be missing out on a ton. If you have read the first books, you probably are not reading my thoughts because you clicked the buy button already and are reading this puppy.
Once again Stacey wrote an awesomely sarcastic and snark filled novel of good vs. evil. This book is a bit darker than the first two, which I am sure you figured out by the title, Sacrifice. It also has a ton of action, some romance, and a berry addicted garden gnome. Have no fears, Grams is still there with her, well her Grams-ness. If you enjoyed the first two books (there is also a novella) in this series, you are going to want to snag this up asap. I am sad that I finished it because now I have to wait for the next book to be released. (less)

I am a shifter addict and dragon shifters are a rare and I can never turn them down. I think if the same story was written as a full length novel that it could have been great, but unfortunately it fell short for me. It felt like it could not decide if it was going to be strictly erotica or if it was going to be a love story with heat (very steamy heat) and a bit of mystery. I really feel like the background story of the shifters could have been amazing. It had some amazing ideas, but just fell flat for me. I am not saying the book was awful. It was a fun, free read, but as tempted as I am to see where this story goes, I am afraid that I will be disappointed if I pay $4 a piece for each the next installments.(less)

It dealt with some serious issues and I like the happy. Then I had a friend tell me I HAD to read it. Another told me that I would love it and that Wyatt was super Alpha and there was no man hating. Another told me that it was uplifting and not depressing. Finally, someone told me to just give it four chapters, so I did, but those four chapters became the whole book in one night. The morning was rough from lack of sleep, but it was so worth it. Everything I had heard was true and more. If you break down this story, it really is just a wonderful love story of two people broken by different things in their life who reconnect after having served together in war. Yes, the subject matter is not easy. There is nothing light and fluffy about PTSD. That being said, Ann did her research and dealt with it in a very honest way. She also did not hold back on the personal connections between Wyatt and Michelle, including the heat. I am really glad I gave this story a read. (less)

I can not really say more about it without being spoilery, but it does not begin in the ditch ;). Once again Terry created a story of true love with a bit of mystery, adventure, and whole lot of stubbornness on the parts of the main characters and a whole lot of heat. It really is everything I want in my shifter crack. No worries if you have not read any of the other books in this series. This easily reads beautifully as a stand alone, but be forewarned. You will want to read the rest of them after getting a taste of her yummy shifter world :) . (less)

It is so much more though. I think that is what makes this series so much better than so many of them out there. Both Jesse and Anya are just super likable people who you want to find happiness from the moment they enter the scene. Yes, there story has enough heat to melt your kindle, but it also has this super sweet love story that stays with you long after you read the last page. Add to that the secondary characters, including Jesse's mother, and this book was impossible for me to put down. I read it all in one night and was so beyond tired the next day. It was so worth it though. If you love books with super heat, amazingly sweet romances, and characters that you want to know in real life, this book is probably for you. If you are under 18, it is most definitely not for you. (less)

In some ways I think that was the best way to find this book because I had absolutely no idea what it was about other than the quote made it seem like something I had to read. Since I had no idea what I was getting myself into every single page brought a surprise and adventure. I could not put it down. I was up far too late reading this book and it was totally worth it. Aside from interesting characters, a whole new world, true evil and a fantastic adventure, the author also manages to do the unexpected with her characters and that made this book a refreshing change. I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series. If you enjoy fantasy, adventure, and an interesting array of characters, this book may be right up your alley. I am so glad I read that quote and plunged into this world. I would probably recommend this book for a slightly older teen because it does touch on some pretty heady topics (kidnapping, murder, mind control).(less)

I was not expecting it to wow me the way it did. I have to be honest and say I was expecting a lot of cliche: Misunderstood bad boy. Woman making a hard decision. They meet. Fall in love. Heat. HEA. I was so stinkin' wrong. This book is anything but cliche. The characters are multidimensional, the plot twists were unexpected, and Hunter, the hot bad boy, did not even make me swoon for most of the book. In fact, he really had to grow on me. Hookers, politians, porn stars, grad students, dysfunctional families, a misunderstood bad boy (not the hero), and friendship all play key roles as the mystery unfolds. I was up all night finishing this book, but I could not help it. I had to know what happened next. If you like hot romances mixed with mystery, suspense, and are over 18, this book is probably just what you are looking for.(less)

There characters are not like anyone you would know, nor like anyone you would want to know in real life. The premise is silly at best. The language and adult activities are rampant and gratuitous. Basically... this book is made of awesome if you want an escape from real life. If you read this after reading the warning, then this book is probably everything you want it to be. If you are offended by this book it is because you in no way, shape, or form paid attention to the warning and I do not feel bad for you. Not at all. (less)

I had read the prequel and loved the world Lia had created and could not wait to get my hands on this book. I was expecting my typical shifter crack, which I love. Yes you have the shifter "true mate" awesome love story with lots of heat going on, but it does not end there. Both Shay and Travis have a past that is now looking them in the face as they try to build a future. Without giving spoilers away, it was great to see the multi- layers of Travis and the many roles he has and has had in the past. It made his character one I am hoping to see more of as this series continues. I was sort of thinking Shay was going to be a bit of a princess going into this book and knowing her place in the pack and was pleasantly surprised by who she turned out to actually be, an amazingly strong and selfless woman who lets nothing stand in the way of what she knows she needs to do. Mix their story with that of this very different pack and I could not put this book down. If you love shifters and are looking for something different, but still holding all the elements we shifter crack lovers want, this book is probably for you. I will definitely be devouring any book she releases from this series!(less)

It broke my heart when she was killed and even though we hardly knew either of the characters it was a horrible loss. I was afraid this book might be too sad and melancholy. A sort of "work through the pain to find some sort of happiness" type tale. Not sure why I was worried. Claudy is one of my favorite authors for a reason. She writes amazing books that never disappoint me.
Ok, so here are some of the things I loved about this book:
*Jazz is smart (marine biologist smart), fun, brave, spunky, and a bit mysterious. I just liked her. If I were to meet her in real life I would want her to be my friend. She is just an awesome character and a perfect edition to the world Claudy has built.
*Trevor is so much more than the fae I thought him to be when I first met him. Watching him develop feelings for Jazz as the book developed, watching him battle his inner demons, watching him interact with the other fae, all of it was just intriguing. Oh and he is hot, so there is that ;).
*Frankie may be my favorite character of her's yet (sorry, Breslyn). I can not say much about why without being spoilery, but Frankie is one to watch.
*This book is a nice blend of romance, adventure and mystery. It also has returning characters from past books and secondary storylines that make it more than your typical romance.
* I could not put it down. I was not even feeling well when I read this, but instead of sleep I made the choice to read until the last word.
*The ending had me so, well I can not say what because it will ruin it for you, but let me just say I emailed the author when I was done and not because I was mad at the ending ;).
It you love paranormal romance with a smidgen of time travel, some heat, and adventure all mixed into a beautiful created world, you probably want to run and get this book. It would probably be best if you read book one first, but you could jump on board with this one and be ok. I personally loved the fact that I have read all the Shee and Time books because I think it added a lot to the story. (less)

There is something about them that makes you want to know them in real life, so when I heard that their back story was going to be told I got giddy. Kate did not disappoint me. It was wonderful to see how they both ended up part of Madame Eve's services. How they both finally started to "get it" that they were more then friends even if they had not crossed any lines yet. I was also happy to read a bit about their feelings and relationship with Andie through their eyes. She is not a character in this story, but she is definitely there. I think my favorite thing about this story is watching the two main characters each struggling with and finally grasping onto what they want, even if they know their lives will never be the same afterwards. Being a 1NS, you know it has heat, but this story is so much more than heat. It is about a friendship hitting a crossroads and deciding to grow and deepen instead of walking away. (less)

While it definitely had a Romeo and Juliet feel (complete with quotes), it had some stinkin' cool paranormal elements in it that made it fresh. It also had some pure evil and I do so love evil in my Paranormal. Sunshine and roses are great, but sometimes you need a little darkness in your reading. I am a sucker for people who dream of each other before they meet, so the first chapter had me hooked. Rose and Derek have an immediate connection and I am excited to see where their story goes from here (I do hope it ends happier that R&J). I will admit that once I finished it the first thing I did was scream, "Arggggggg" because it is a three part story and I wanted the whole thing tied up in a pretty bow. That being said, part two is already out, so I do not have to wait long to read it. I am really looking forward to the rest of this trilogy. (less)

This book had romance, some adventure, a bit of mystery, and the gods and it takes place in Vegas. what more could I ask for? Karly is young and taking her life into her own hands and by doing so ends up living in Vegas with 3 intriguing roommates. While there she meets Zeus, who is at this point no one I would even begin to want to know. Somehow, this beautiful love grows between them as they both discover who they really are and who they want to be. I could not put this book down and I hope that it is going to be a series. It would have been really easy for a romance in Sin City to turn very "sinful", but the author kept it clean, yet how. Not an easy thing to do. If you like modern day stories with the gods and a sweet romance, this is definitely for you.(less)

Elly is such an amazing heroine. She may be a squirrel (yes, a squirrel shifter), but she does not let anyone run her over and she sure does not let anything get in her way. I loved her spunk and her really warm heart. Deuce is the bad boy who really isn't. Thrown together in the worst circumstances did not stop them from searching out their HEA.
This book is part of a series and you will be missing background info if you have not read the others, but this is a complete story in and of itself so no worries if you want to jump in with this one. If you are a fan you will be super excite to know that the book is filled with Mayaisms. Love her!!! If you love hot shifters, adventure, humor, and spunky squirrels, you will love this book. I can not wait to see what Celia comes up with next. (less)

Was the premise the most realistic one out there? Absolutely not, but that made it all the more fun. Georgia Cates wrote such this beautiful tale of love sneaking up on people. Two broken people from halfway around the world, finding each other and discovering themselves at the same time. Here are some of the things I really liked about this book:
*Jack and Laurelyn were both really likable characters, despite their flaws. Trust me, they had flaws a plenty.
*The book alternated points of view by chapter. This gave us glimpses into what each of them was thinking, but in a very easy and fun to read way.
*Ummm, yes this book may cause your Kindle to smoke due to some very hot scenes.
*Silly as it may be, the fact that very early on in the book Georgia poked fun at her own genre made me smile and actually made me look at the book a bit differently.
*The secondary characters, though not overly present, added an interesting dynamic to "their" story. I would say this was especially true for both Ben and Jack's mom.
*The ending. Well, not really the ending, but the fact that Georgia's sneak peak after the book ended made all the nervousness I felt reading the last chapter go away. This is a two (maybe three) part series, so it was not all tied up in a pretty little bow. Many authors would have left us completely wondering if there would be a next book. She gave us just enough of a glimpse that I was able to turn off my kindle with a smile on your face.
If you like contemporary NA romances with a ton of heat, likable yet broken characters and "this could never happen but *sigh* I wish it could" premise, this book is probably for you. I am so looking forward to what happens next. (less)

Christin somehow managed to have this beautiful and very intimate scene between two people through the eyes of a woman who is mute. While we "hear" her thoughts, Drak is unable too and yet they communicate very beautifully. Christin could have easily taken the easy way out and had him be a mind reader since he is a vampire, but she did not. She focused on the body language, eye contact, and their love for each other. I would love to read the story of how they met and fell in love. I think it could be amazing and hope it is in the works. This is for certain sure an 18 plus read and focuses on a very intimate moment between Allie and Drak. This is a very short read and can easily be read in an afternoon. (less)

Every time I think this series can not get any better, she some how manages to accomplish just that. This is ethereal knights, which is a retelling of book one in her Celestra from the point of view of the two Oliver boys. It is not a new story, but since the first book only showed us things from Skyla's POV, there is so much more to be discovered.
I should probably start out with the fact that I am kind of mad at Addison. I completely knew who I wanted Skyla to end up with when this series ends (there is currently one book left). She had to go and ruin it for me. Seriously, I had a strong non-love for Logan from the first book and now that I see his side of things, I am so confused. I kind of like the guy now. Uggggggg. Now I do not know who I should be cheering on!
I have read the first book in this series numerous times. I tend to reread the series before a new book comes out. I thought I knew it all. If it was a category on Jeopardy I would so sweep it. Now that I have read Ethereal Knights, I realize there was so much more to the story. If you have not read Celestra, I highly recommend you pick it up. It is currently free and reading it before you read this, or at least reading it back to back will make both books so much more and considering how amazing they are, that is saying something.
Here are some things I loved about this book:
* This book really filled in the "I wonder why's" of what those Oliver boys did. There were many times when I just shook my head at them and tried to figure out why Skyla was even interested in them, especially *cough* Logan.
* This probably does not even need to be said, but here it is anyways : Those yummy Oliver boys. Seriously, who could get enough of their yumminess. The teasers on Addison's website where little itty bitty scenes were rewritten from their point of view were not enough.
* Gage's visions: I thought I knew when some of Gage's visions had come to pass, but know that I have seen a bunch of them, I realize I know nothing. Seriously, it is seriously a whole different ballgame than I thought it was. Not only did I get to see somethings that I really wanted to "see" first hand ;) .
* I may complain about it, but the fact that I no longer thing Logan is unworthy (ok, I had other choice words for him) is awesome. It makes me look forward to the next book even more than I was slated to be the top of my TBR the day it was released.
* Addison did not hold back. They are teenage boys and as such think about things that girls might not and she let those things show. Ok, I will just say it. Those boys did not always think with the head on their shoulders.
*Even though this is a retelling, I never once felt like I was hearing the same story, different day. It was new and fresh and fun.
*There is something about Addison's writing style that just connects with me. Her use of language has me constantly using my highlight feature because I want to be able to find and reread those moments. There are very few authors whose voice touches me this way.
This book is amazing, covered with spectacular sauce, sprinkled with some genius and topped with wonderful. This is definitely mature YA, because let's be honest, teenage boys can be perves. If you have read and enjoyed any of this series, this book should definitely be on your TBR.(less)

I am a sucker for "dream" inspired love stories and it immediately sucked me in. Watching the Inn come to life as they both grew as individuals and eventually as a couple was such a fun read. The main characters are both so likable, even when they were at their lowest, so I am very interested to see where this series goes from here. While this story has a ton of heat, it is so much more than that. Fair Warning: You will want to read this until the very last page, so I would advise not starting it right before bed if you have an early morning ahead. I am very excited about this series. I am a huge fan of Ella Jade and was excited to see a "Fantasy Island" type series was in the works. This is the first book in the series and really lays the groundwork beautifully, while at the same time telling a great love story. This is an 18 plus read.(less)

I could not put it down. Watching Avery grow from a very unsure young woman, who was basically running away from her life to start over, turn into a self confident woman was one of the things that made this book so amazing. Add into that her not so easy, but worth the bumpy road relationship with Cam and some fun secondary characters and the book really kept me engrossed her story. Unfortunately, there were a couple of things that bugged me. The first is one of the main plot points from her past could never have happened due to her age and police/hospital involvement. Minors never have the choice to do what she did. That kind of really bugged me because it made an amazing book a good book. I can look past it to still enjoy the story, but it made the characters less real for me. The second is that while I understand that safe sex does not occur as often as it should, birth control should have at least been mentioned at some point. Yes, that is just me being picky, but I can not remember reading a book in this genre where it was not at least brought up at some point. J. Lynn is an amazing story teller and if you love contemporary NA romance and can overlook a couple of details, this book is probably one you will really enjoy. It does deal with a couple of rough topics including sexual assault and suicide, so if those are topics that are too difficult for you, you may want to pass on this book. This is an 18 plus read for subject matter and some super steamy scenes. If I could give 1/2 stars, this would be a 3 1/2. (less)
