I often see that authors use it as a way to write erotica involving younger and younger people. However, this book had the perfect amount of violence, sexual tension, non-graphic sex and great story telling. I loved how Jenna was just an average girl who is faced with extraordinary circumstances. I also like how this story weaved a new and different zombie mythology. The ones who are bitten and survive become much like a vampire who are light sensitive flesh-eaters. I really enjoyed this book and the development of the characters, how they made mistakes but learned ultimately what it means to be human.(less)

I have read mid-grade/children’s books before that had me in the first chapter, and I am a fan of the paranormal /fantasy genre. I am not sure why I cannot get into this one. I gave it a fair chance settling at 45% of the book. I really wanted to like this book, but I cannot give a stellar review. On a side note, as someone who made big mistakes with my own first edition, an editor that focuses on story development and line editing would be beneficial. (less)

Review: I really enjoyed this series. I read it in the span of 2 days . I was unable to put it down. I am a huge fan of the paranormal craze with shifters, vampires and whatever else the movement thinks up. I have to say though it is a rarity to find a book that contains the Biblical principles I believe in and the werewolf mythology I love. This book is a beautiful blending of both without being preachy for the non-believer, that in itself is a great feat. I connected with Zach, the story is told through his eyes, but it really didn’t matter that I am twice his age and female; I, still, enjoyed his viewpoint. It’s also a human story. The werewolves are there but they are only part of Zach’s coming of age story. The only thing lacking is that I wish there were more of an epilogue. I’d like to see what happens to see what other adventures Zach has. If that’s the chief complaint this book has well earned my 5 Flower rating. Upon doing more research I found that True Silver: Book 4 of the Series is availble. I definitely need to put it in my book budget.(less)
Fifty years ago the Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadly sins were the downfall of society. He created the Hole where sinners are branded according to their sins and might survive a few years. At best. Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me. I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit and now the Hole is my new home.
Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.
Now every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win. The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me. I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter. My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.
I really loved this book. Sometimes it’s hard to connect with a first person book. I, myself, write first person and I know the risks and rewards. Abi and Missy have created a new and unique look at the future. Lexi is a relatable hero and is a character that reflects growth and bravery. I really liked the building of relationships in this book and I also loved that though love was a portion of the story it wasn’t the whole thing . We had a full and distinct view of Lexi and her world. That is rare in many books. I can't wait to see what's next!
Abi and Missy met in the summer of 1999 at college orientation and have been best friends ever since. After college, they added jobs, husbands and kids to their lives, but they still found time for their friendship. Instead of hanging out on weekends, they went to dinner once a month and reviewed books. What started out as an enjoyable hobby has now become an incredible adventure.

I really liked the sisters, whose relationship was well done and seemed like real sisters. Some books don’t paint a genuine picture, where you just want to poke someone in the eye. I also enjoyed the paranormal element. I am a huge Fae fan and I think that this book was a great set up for the Dark Fairy Tale Series. I love the introduction into Faery and the magic found there. It is a compelling and beautiful world, frot with love, danger, beauty and even violence. I would hate to give away too much but love’s outcome can be sad but opens doors to greater things.(less)

I prefer to read series and sometimes that is extremely hard because some books lose their momentum, however this is not the case with The Dark Fairy Tale Series. Book 1, takes us to a different life years removed from Evangeline. Much has happened for the sisters, including one has gone to the dark side. We meet Shade a normal teenager who finds herself in abnormal situation. She’s half-Fae. I really didn’t know how the stories connected except for one of the sisters fighting a Teleen warrior in the beginning, dragging Shade into the Fae lifestyle. I must say after that all the story as a sequel came together. I loved Shade’s interaction with her new friends and the new things she learns about herself and the Fae. I even loved the love triangles and supporting stories. Each character drew you into a relationship with them, where you care about them and want them to succeed. I also enjoyed the quirks of Faery, it is the same as any of the supporting characters with its own personality and bits of crazy.(less)
Maggie Collins is having a heck of a year. She finds her fiancé is a lying, cheating jerk-face of the highest order and that the job that she loves has just been cut from the budget, not to mention her beloved Grandmother just died. On the upside, her dreams are filled with a lusty long haired guy. When Maggie just about can’t take it any more decides to go to Orkney, Scotland to go through her Grandmother’s things. There she finds the man in hot, steamy dreams. His name is Calan Kirk and he’s a Selkie, a seal shifter of legend with very long life span and missing pelt. Maggie and Calan must learn to trust one another so they can find it or Calan can never return home.
I loved this book. The characters were well developed and the story was full of humor, suspense and good romance. As a PNR (paranormal romance) girl, I’ve read all kinds of books about magical or supernatural creatures. This one is one of the best. I also loved the uniqueness of the Selkie. It was fun to read about something other than vampires and werewolves, even though I am a huge fan of them. I give this book a solid 4 flowers and look forward to book 2, The Selkie’s Revenge, which was just released and is available on Isbooks.com.

I used the Amazon Synopsis because it is perfect for this book (we all know in some cases it isn't.) I actually got this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book. The world created was original, the book was well edited and I loved the transition of Kas the main character from scared teen to bad tail.
