I got choked up several times, and it takes a lot for a story to make me cry; Susan did it more than once. It was raw, gritty, sorrowful and perfect. Just when I thought things were beginning to look up for the main characters, something else would happen to knock them back down. The attraction between Adela and Courtland isn't obvious at first, but their love for one another slowly blooms in their darkest hour. This is a very well written book. Allusive Aftershock isn't the first book I've read by Susan Griscom, and it certainly won't be the last. Well done, Susan. 5 stars from me on this one!...more

This plot is totally engaging and it just captivated my attention throughout. So much passion and drama are within these pages that you will find yourself laughing and crying and yelling as you read. It has everything you could want in a book: humor, romance, horror, mystery. The story had quite a few interesting twists. It was truly an adventure! The author really makes you feel like you are in Whisper Cape and experiencing all of it.
I will happily recommend this book to anyone interested in this type of story, quite simply it is just a great story and I am left wondering what happens next. It's a good thing I've just picked up book 3!...more

It's one of those books that sucks you in by the first chapter and whisks you out of your reality into another time and place. Ms. Medler puts you in the shoes of each of her characters so you feel, rather than read, their pain, trials and emotions.
The novel is so well written and flows so smoothly that I often forgot about the things that had to be done in my life because I was so caught up in Nick's, his family, and the men he had set out to get revenge on.
The suspense was gripping and had me guessing in the wrong direction on several occasions, but Medler never disappointed. Each scene and chapter had me turning the pages to see what would happen next. This book is definitely in my op five favorite thrillers, and I will be reading it again.
5 stars from me and I recommend this to anyone that wants a little adventure and danger in their life. You'll love Nick's payback....more

The narrator really brought the characters to life.
What did you like best about this story? How strong Riley was with everything she had to go through.
What does Erin Spencer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book? The voice of each character was very distinct and original. She did an amazing job of putting me on the scene with each of the characters. Well done!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be? Fight to stay in the light and never lose hope.
Any additional comments? I am simply blown away by the originality of this story. Trish Marie Dawson is now one of my favorite authors. Awesome job! Well done! Grabbing book two now!...more

So now I'mI've waited a while before posting my review, mainly because I had a lot to think about, and I wasn't sure just how I felt about any of it. So now I'm here and I've come to a lot of conclusions about my feelings toward this series.
I had so many theories about how this book, in particular, would end. I should have known better than to try and guess; Ms. Dawson is anything but predictable. However, she did start the series full of action, kept me enthralled and interested and always wanting more, and then she started sewing. Yep, it's the only way I can think of to explain this series. It's like a quilt, or maybe a puzzle. Piper had a lot of issues to struggle through, each one unique and completely tattered, but Ms. Dawson took each problem, studied it, and then figured out the best (not necessarily the easiest) way for Piper to overcome or fix them. She sewed them all up together and ended this series perfectly. It is complete and perfect, maybe not exactly the way I pictured it would end, but it was perfect for Piper. Even though it's finished, I still long to read more about Piper Willow. Trish opened up a whole unique world when she started 'The Station' series, so maybe we'll see her and her friends again someday.
I will read this series again and again. I recommend it to mature young adults and adults. Although there is no sex or strong language, there are scenes that may not be appropriate for immature teens, because of the sexual abuse and suicide mentioned.
Not a story I will ever forget. 5 stars from me!...more

I found being in the mind of a serial killer a little disturbing, but isn't that the way one should feel? Well, all non-serial killers, anyway. The idea behind the time jump was awesomely thought out and original.
The writing was very good. I didn't feel as though the same clichés were repeated over and over. I got a really good description of the surroundings around Jeremy and Phineas, but sometimes the head-hopping between the two had me re-reading the paragraph to get back on track. It wasn't too terribly distracting, but it is something the author could fix with a short sentence here and there.
This book is horror and all that that entails. It's not for the faint of heart, but there are a few chuckle moments that surprised me. They were well placed. I would recommend this book to anyone that reads horror, thriller and suspense.

Connecting to these damaged characters is easy. I could feel every emotion as if I were in each of their shoes. I've laughed, cried, loved and threatened to slap one of them right out of her expensive suit.
Volunteers remind me of a sort of guardian angel. One who tries to sway a suicidal person back the other way, make them see the good in life and what the positives are about themselves when they are surrounded by negativity and doubt about their existance.
Piper is found to be a little different in 'Dying To Remember'. The mentors of the station and a very 'important' being have discovered Piper to have a little bit, uh...more, shall we say. I won't ruin it for you, but I will suggest if you haven't picked up 'Dying to Forget' that you need to do it now, and go ahead and pick this one up to save you a trip back after you finish the first.
This is a must read for anyone over the age of 14. Suicide is a delicate subject that most people want to avoid, but Ms. Dawson brings up the subject and makes it impossible to put down.

Don't want to spoil it for anyone, but I do want to encourage you to read it.
I can only imagine how many people think about commiting suicide in this cruel world every day. Whether it's work, family, lifestyle or something tragic that has happened that one believes they can't possibly go on living with anymore, 'The Station' gives those that have given up another option besides Hell(although that is totally still an option). Being a volunteer is not an easy task, nor is it something that should be chosen lightly.
Ride with Piper on her journey in the after-life. I promise you will be picking up 'Dying To Remember' as soon as you finish the last page.
I highly recommend this novel to anyone between the ages of 14 - 100.

Just when I thought I knew something was going to happen, something totally different would happen. The beginning sort of gave me the feel of 'My Fair Lady' crossed with 'Pretty Woman'. Both of those titles being favorites of mine, I knew I was in for a treat. Ms. Lee didn't let me down, but the story quickly turned original and dark paths and light humor led my imagination on one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
I recommend this to any adult that loves to see the bad guy get what they deserve.

I must take a moment to catch my breath. Ms. Russell definitely put a spin on evil with this one, and it's hard for me to believe this was her debut novel, although she is not new to writing. The way I hear it she has another novel about to break into the publishing world, with another two works in progress. Wow! Sounds like an author that could keep a reader satisfied to me. Anyway, I must move on and tell you a bit about why my heart is still in my throat and I may or may not be looking over my shoulder right now. And I will try my best not to spoil it for you.
Hannah Malcolm attempts to start her life anew in a slower-paced town. Bar Harbor isn't at all what she was used to in Chicago, but that was the point. She had to find a way to escape, and possibly forget, the horrible memories she had of the death of her family. With the case closed, and no answers found, staying would have only been the end of her sanity.
With a brand new job and a few friends made, Hannah agrees to be dragged against her will to a club with new friend and co-worker, Penny Pilkington. What she found there was Marcus, a guy that any girl in the club or town would have done just about anything just to get his attention. Hannah was shocked by the evident fact that Marcus didn't seem to notice anyone but her.
Marcus' interest seemed to grow even more through the weeks, and Hannah found that she was completely besotted with the devastatingly handsome rogue. Strange things began to happen, but ignoring them was a whole lot easier than facing them and ruining what seemed to be the perfect relationship.
A brutal murder and a serious accident that almost took the life of Penny, had her nerves on end. And she realized when the bruises lasted longer and Marcus' words sounded more possessive than loving, that she may not have been seeing the real Marcus at all. She also realized that the only way to get out of the relationship may cost her her life.
With the help of a friend, and some disturbing discoveries about Marcus' secret life and her own past, she takes the chance and runs.
I can't tell you anymore, because it would spoil it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who craves a little danger in their life. Roses at Dusk will have you dreading the setting sun. It receives 5 stars from me. ...more

This is an extremely thought out thriller that will keep you up way past your bed time. I will try to explain without explaining too much. I don't like reading spoiler reviews because then there is no real need to read the book. It is, well, spoiled. Our hero, Nick, is ex military and after that, fell into a more dangerous field of work as a sort of hit man. With nothing to love and no close friends besides Tequila, he was comfortable in his life as a killer. Until...well, feeling overconfident in even his charm he agrees to a bet with Tequila that sends his world into uncharted waters. Maxi's waters. Always the one to choose the wrong man, Maxi realizes real fast that Nick's life isn't all peaches and cream - can't tell you why because it would be a spoiler - but she is indeed interested in Nick's wild lifestyle. And Nick is most definitely interested in whatever Maxi has to offer. 5 years later their perfect world together comes to a tragic and heartbreaking end. Nick's old life has caught up with him. His old colleagues want him back on a job. When Nick says no, he never dreams the price of the refusal will be the life of his wife, and his 4 year old son getting kidnapped. Of course the men who killed Nick's wife and took his son underestimated Nick's skill. Little did they know just exactly how dangerous of a man they would be dealing with after taking his whole reason for living. Nick appears to abide by their rules, knowing they will not hesitate to kill Cameron, but his mind continuously plots a way to get his son back safely and still make each and every one of the bad guys pay for what they have done. Tequila, hidden from the sight of the bad guys and Nick, tries to help in any way she can, but she can't let Nick know that his wife is still alive for fear of him doing something foolish. No more teasers for you. You will have to read it and find out for yourself. The twists and turns will have you gritting your teeth in anticipation. You will feel the emotions of each and every character. Numerous times I found my heart racing as if I was present for it all. I highly recommend this novel to any Thriller lover, and well, actually I recommend it to everyone. If you've never been a fan of the genre, this one is sure to change your mind. Put yourself in Nick Hunter's shoes and see for yourself what it's like to lose everything important to you in the blink of an eye, and then what it feels like to have the courage to go and take it back. Extremely great writing. Highly recommended. 5 stars from me! My heart is still racing. I can't wait for the second book. ...more
