I read it twice because I couldn't bear closing the book and because I wanted to go back and see how it was done. It seemed to be so easy, like walking through a familiar door and entering a familiar room. You're there and you think, this is ok, this isn't going to scare me or hurt me or make me wish I'd never opened the door. And then, little by little, door by door, room by room, you suddenly realize you don't know where you are or how to go back. I LOVED this book. No demons, no vampires, no wizards, no zombies. Just pure creeping madness. But you know, I'm not so sure it was madness. Maybe we'd all do just as this amazing woman did if we had to. The mind is a maze. (less)
