But when she finds out Alfred Hitchcock is the cat she recently rescued and the gun she was afraid of is a paintball gun, she does know that life’s about to get really interesting.
The hero, Maxwell Collins, is an amazing, generous man who is either bailing out his younger brother or donating a kidney to his sister. To top all that, he owns his own landscape company. I could totally relate to Lisa and her friends watching the landscape crew outside their office window and drooling over those sexy as sin abs. When Max ultimately sets his sights on Lisa, the girl really doesn’t stand a chance.
Hildie McQueen has written a fun, fast paced story that keeps you reading until the very end. I like that there was a lot of miscommunications. Those little misunderstandings made the story that much lighter and easy to relate to. Because Ms. McQueen left us with an excellent hook at the end, I’m already looking to see what happens next for Max’s brother, Dean.(less)

After ignoring an initial call for help from the sexy psychic and leaving the Atlanta Police Department looking bad in the press, Jack is assigned to protect Katherine as she attempts to solve one of their most visible cases. When Katherine’s new found celebrity status brings out the bad guys, it’s up to Jack to keep her alive.
Sixth Sense can get pretty intense. Marilyn Baron really digs deep into the psyche of a serial killer. She also digs deep into the give and take of a budding romance. Jack and Katherine really have nothing in common. Both have trust issues that relate to the other’s profession. But if they hadn’t been forced to work together, they never would have found their true soul mates. Sixth Sense has a great mix of romance, spine tingling suspense, and real hope for two jaded individuals for a happily ever after. I’m looking forward to reading book 2 in the Psychic Crystal Mystery series.(less)

He never dreamed it would turn into more.
When Rosie Baxter agreed to accept a loan from an old friend she’s had a crush on forever in exchange for a temporary marriage pact, she never dreamed she’d find her happily ever after.
I thought I would take a quick look at the first chapter of this book on a weekday in preparation for a weekend read. That didn’t happen. Before I knew it, I was more than halfway through the book and the only reason I finally quit reading was because my Kindle battery died. I admit I came home from work the next day and finished the story. This book was well worth the sleepy morning.
A Suitable Wife has it all. Passion, friendship, a villainous ex (or two), picturesque settings, heart touching backstory, dedicated family, and some great love scenes. Sweetwater Springs is a place where anyone would feel welcome. Carol Burnside has created a community that I hope to visit often. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.(less)
