Grey:You have made me mad(he becomes remote)
Anastacia:Forgive me.I love you.Forgive me.(Accompanied with a whole lot of internal Holy sh*ts)
Huh.Okay.He married her without a prenup and the side story of Jack Hyde(which makes up for lack of kink) Is it mean for me to wish someone writes fan-fiction where Anastacia leaves Grey ten years later and cleans his bank account out and finds true love with someone else? Those stories of:"I love you more than my ex.You have shown me the meaning of love" I can only hope.(less)

I thought surely I was missing something so I reread.Nope nothing changed.I loathe Lothaire(pun intended). I've had a love-hate relationship with this series(love the books and author;hate specific(most) parts of the book content) but this book was pretty distasteful to me.It went aboveboard because:
Kidnapping-seriously everybody does that in the Lore. Promising to kill her-unforgivable Using fingers to take her virginity violently-OH HELL NO(Switch off device quickly)This scene scarred my mind. Changing her without permission-No
That was not lovely or cute but really f*cked up sh*t.I understand extreme heroes but seriously there was NOTHING to love or even like about Lothaire. I would have given it 1 star but its a Kresley Cole. Ugh describes what I felt after finishing.(less)

Brandon aka A**hole aka rapist aka all things men should never be was the 'hero'(Emphasis on hero used very loosely.First,he raped her REPEATEDLY!!!Then he tells her that, this will be her lot in life!(jaw drops)That was not arrogance that's practically slavery. She runs(smart girl) then is forced to marry him because she is pregnant.Note that she is the injured party but Brandon aka the rapist is the one who's angry! Why?Because he's being forced to marry and he left a fiancee back home.He then proceeds to hurt the heroine repeatedly throughout the book and I never saw an apology. Heather aka spineless stupid coward.I wonder why when she escaped Brandon the first time, she did not run to her uncle. It never crossed her mind? Then in the marriage, she was a martyr. She also comes off as stupid when rape by a handsome man is better than rape by an ugly man.The excuses she made for Brandon's behaviour. Tsk Tsk Tsk.Then that line of thought that after the birth of the baby she would win him back with her slim figure...Please(I rolled my eyes)Stupidity upon stupidity. Louisa was the other woman. This is the first instance where I'm going to say she was over-vilified.There reached a point where I just stopped believing in the story. No matter how many clenching muscles(hehe)there were there was nothing to fall in this story to gain the adoration It receives. It was published in 1972 and I think women's liberation was starting so let it not be blamed on the time because I'm quite sure there were some people back then who hated it too.(less)
