Its about a girl names Susanna who put herself into a mental institution. In there she meets a friend names Lisa, and she builds a relationship with her, and Lisa had been in the mental institution a long time now. Susanna rooms with a psychological liar. In there she becomes friends with many of the patients. She gets to know Lisa more, and Lisa kind of controls Susanna. She once made Susanna leave the mental institution with her. Susanna began to have a relationship with an older guy that lasted for a while, but in the end, things didn't work out for them. Later Susanna gets out of the mental institution and when she has figured out her life in the "real world" she comes back to visit her friend Lisa, and to tell her that everything will be alright. A Little while after Susanna got out, she heard that Lisa was getting out and wanted to go see her. But by the time Susanna got there Lisa was already out and Susanna never heard from her again. I would recommend this book to people in their late teens' or early 20's . This book was good I thought because it gave you the right atmosphere that you could picture what the place looks like in your head, like a visual of the whole story. It give you a feel for what some of the patients in the mental institution have to go threw. (less)

When all you have is school to go to and your friend.
The “The Kite Runner”, by Khaled Hosseini tells about a family living in Afghanistan in their small city of Kabul. Amir’s father is a wealthy man who is trying to support his Hazara and sons.
The two young boys, Amir and Hassan were the best of friends. They grew up together from the day Baba, Amir’s father hired Hassan’s father as a Hazara servant.
As the story goes on, you begin to realize Amir and Hassan really don’t have a lot in common. Amir likes to read and right, while Hassan likes to go out and have fun. Hassan says sometime he would like to read but there is no one to teach him.
Through the years Amir and Hassan have been together, they have had their “brotherly differences” but none that would allow them to be in big trouble for.
You come to realize that as the boys grow older what Baba has been keeping from them both and all the lies just to try and keep this one hidden. The two boys learn that they are brothers. But have been raised as friends for their whole life.
As the boys grow older Baba become sick with lung caner, and there was nothing they or anyone could do. Amir meets his new wife and moves to America to peruse his dream in writing, Hassan meets his wife also. They have a child but shortly after a few year both parents are brutally shot in fount of their son, From the Soviet Union. After a wile Amir and his wife get a letter saying that he has to come back to Kabul and get his nephew. This is when he realizes that Hassan is his brother. Amir goes threw a lot just to get him to bring him back to America. When they return to America they have a good life.
This book is well written and has a great theme. Although, there are a lot of characters to remember you have to keep this in mind while reading the book. I would recommend this book to others because it teaches us a lot about what some people out of our country have to go through and how they lived at one time. Different from us now a days, we have a lot more then they did and don’t have to worry about when the next Soviet Union is going to come for us. (less)

You would think a teenager that took a babysitting class would be taking an only job, only untill two thugs walk in and kidnapp you and the child your with. In this book, Amy was babysitting Kendra when the two guys came to Kendra's house. At first Amy thought it was her fault, she left the door unlocked, but then when she saw the van in the drive way she knew. But then they cane back for her and it was too late for her to get help. The two kidnappers thought that it was going to be a differen't babysitter when they got there. But all they wanted was money. They figured when they got Amy and Kendra in the cabbin they would start to film the video. Amy was smart though. Amy and her friend use to make up these hints, so she thoughtshe would try and make some of them, but she wanted to do it so good that not even the thugs would figure it out. She was thing about some hints like tugging her ear, sneezing or coughing. When the first video came out both Kendra and Amy's mom were scared and worried. Just like Kendra and Amy were. One night Amy saw an opening to escape. They both snuck out of the cabbin and ran out as fast as they could. They both got into the car and Amy started to drive off, she didn't know how to drive she had only gotten a little amount of practice. But they got in the car and drove off. They made it a few miles untill they saw a cop and told him EVERYTHING. Mrs. Egerton (Kendra's mother) and Amy's mother were so happy that they both came home. I would rate this book a 5/5 stars.(less)

Rebecca has just moved to a city in New Orleans with her aunt Claudia because her dad is traveling for work for a year. She was very upset to be leaving her friends and most importantly her dad. She starts her new school and she is already not liking it. She is being made fun of already and it is already the first week. As Rebecca was going for a walk one day threw the cemetery near her house she meets a new friend. Her name is Lisette. They start talking and she figures out that Lisette lives in Lafayette cemetery. As they begin to hang out more Rebecca realizes that Lisette is a ghost and she begins to tell Rebecca all about the city and her family curse. Overall I thought that this was a good book and I would read it again because it kept me going and I didn’t want to stop reading it because it got interesting at some parts. (less)
