Pon painted a beautiful and enchanted picture with stange creatures and menacing characters.
Ai Ling reminded me a lot of Mulan, she is very strong and has a big heart. She set out to find her father after he left to go to the palace, he said he wasn't going to be gone long and would be back soon. After 6 or 7 months with no word from him she goes to the palace to find him, along the way she has many obstacles to get past, she also meets Chen Yong who is on his own quest to find out about his birth parents. Don't want to say anymore than that afraid there will be spoilers, this is the kind of book that its secrets are best to find out by reading them not being told someone second hand.
I didn't really like the way it ended but thankfully there is a sequel and I look forward to reading it.(less)

With this book, light was shed on events that happened in books 1-3 in a way that had me looking at them in a different way than before. They all made scence then and even more so after reading Tiger's Destiny, and the way it was all layered and woven together was just incredible. It was confusing at times, there were some things I didn't understand but I don't care, There was still some much adventure and action that it was still awesome and I have faith that all will be clear in Tiger's Dream. I don't know how exactly she will pull it off but she has her bag of tricks I'm sure.
OK Mrs. Houck you really know how to make a girl's heart stop a couple of hundred times during a story, I must say. But I loved every word of this book, I only don't know what comes next, there is still one more book and what happened after this one....I don't know but I can't wait to read it!!!!!(less)

The story was awesome, I had no idea how it was going to end but I am happy with the ending. Chen Yong and Ai Ling's journey across an the sea and into a new world was filled with unknown creatures and the tension between them was so thick you could scoop it up, top with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry and have for desert. I would not mind even one bit if they found themselves on another adventure taking out more baddies. This is definitely on my favorites list.(less)
