How can I move on from a book like that?? February is too far away. I don't think I'll survive till then. Good thing I can go read The Retribution of Mara Dyer. Because both of these series mess with your head and it's totally worth the experience. Courtney has done an amazing job keeping me on the edge of my seat and then pulling that seat right out from under me. I hope you enjoy it as much as me!!!...more
Hannah is looking for a new start from the life she's run away from. But she can't seem to escape those who seek to kill her. Luke's job is protecting her. Especially those he loves. He knows the moment that he sets eyes on Hannah that she needs protection, that she's running from something.
Luke kinda became obsessed with Hannah, a girl he had spoken to for maybe 5 minutes, when he first saw her. It's kinda creepy, finding out where she's running from and visiting that place after a five minute conversation. Despite the creep-factor, I adored Luke he's sweet and protective. Hannah is independent, but not so much that she doesn't know when to give in or ask for help. She just likes to support herself.
This suspenseful novel left me on the edge of my seat. Their were so many unexpected twists and turns. I can't wait to read the next book in Hannah and Luke's journey!!!...more

A fairly short conclusion to the Reverie series. I don't see why it couldn't have just been one book, but whatever. I also think it's unfair of Reverie to blame Nick for everything. He couldn't contact her because she moved and her cell phone was shut off. It wasn't his fault. But still, she's mad at him. I also don't really see why Nick didn't just say he was with Reverie. It would have saved both of them a lot of trouble, but I realize he wanted to spare her the scrutiny of the police. I guess it's also because he's been betrayed to the police by someone he trusted. Sorry, thinking while typing. :)
Reverie and Evan have made a complete 180 from a few months ago. They went from entitled to working whatever job they can get. It was nice to see them accept their fate so,not willingly, but gracefully. Neither of them complains about the work they have to do to keep themselves afloat because their parents can't contribute to the rent and food.
Nick also is learning to move out of the past and towards the future. He's letting go of the things that held him back and embracing the good in his life. That means tracking down Reverie and explaining what happened that night. He also come to her rescue a time or two.
Her Destiny is a satisfying ending to the Reverie series. I hope you enjoy it!...more

You all have heard me say it enough times: I don't do zombies. But these were different. The zombies weren't mindless creatures set on eating brains and destruction. They were simply humans who had traded their soul to a voodoo priest. They must do the priest's bidding in hope that they will one day re-obtain their souls.
Oh, Daemon. I love you, but sometimes I question your logic. smh. Daemon is cute and enigmatic. He mysteriously shows up when Sky needs his help. This confuses Sky because her mother has informed her that zombies are evil and that she stay away from him. Together, the two must embark on a journey to stop the voodoo priest who both owns Daemon's soul and wants to kill Sky.
I can't wait for the sequel. There were so many twists and turns in this book and it was well written. I especially liked the voodoo stuff. You don't often see paranormal books that are centered around voodoo....more
