It was SOOOOO amazing and heartbreaking. I loved Sarah and Vivian and Evan. The only thing I didn't like was Sara and Evan's reluctance to tell someone Emma was being abused. I can see how Emma didn't want to tell anybody but it bothered me that Sara and Evan never did, especially since Sara's dad is a judge. I wasn't sure what to think about the ending and was rather distressed about it until I found out there's going to be a sequel. I cant wait to find out the title and publication date!(less)

Elixir is in Aidan's POV (finally! ;) Alex has just become the Apollyon and her connection with the First has consumed her. She is no longer the Alex we all know and love, she's a vessel for Seth's feelings and desires. Even her eyes have changed, no longer brown, but golden. The only way to break the connection is to put Alex on the Elixir, something Aidan promised would never happen, something that would kill him inside to do to her. But if it gives them more time to save her life is it worth it?
I have been dying to get inside Aidan's head, so I LOVE this novella. And it just made me yearn for Apollyon (April 9, 2013) all the more. Three more months. Three more months. Three more months.(less)
Though I love JLA and all of her books, one of my major hang-ups with the Covenant series is how similar it is the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. And before you all blow up at me, I'm not accusing anybody of anything. I'm just saying that the similarities bother me. JLA has an amazing writing style and has created a unique world that I am absolutely in love. And her characters are vivid and real.
In Deity, we start to see a different side of Seth. And not just one side, but several. We see his fun, care-free side which is the side we've seen from the beginning, and we're introduced to his evil side, but also the side of him that just wants to be loved and accepted. As much as I dislike Seth, that kinda broke my heart a little. sniff sniff
Aiden and Alex's relationship (How do you even give them a nickname? Is it Ailex? Alden? I don't like either of those... Oh! Let's call them St. Andros. I like that :D [<- sometimes I wonder about my though processes *facepalm*]) is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread. And I really like sliced bread.
The feels I had after finishing Deity were excruciating. Y'all better be happy that the sequels are available right now (or on Saturday as is the case with Sentinel), because I just about killed somebody in my anxiousness to get the next book. Luckily, JLA also has other series I adore. Unluckily, I have to wait for sequels for those books, too. Why do I torture myself by reading books in a series that hasn't been finished yet? Sigh. I never learn.....
So, if you've read Daimen, Half-Blood, and Pure, you should definitely read Deity. The series just goes uphill from here with no stopping in sight :D I can't wait to read Sentinel!!!!!!(less)

I adore this story!! I was caught up in it from the beginning. Lacey is getting over her mother and sister's death and she's struggling to find a balance in her life. The only thing that keeps her going is the chance at getting a baseball scholarship to University of Arizona. She's constantly on the field practicing her pitch. Kade is also recovering from trauma in his life and understands what Lacey's going through.
Lacey is headstrong and independent. Kade is sexy and protective they are an awesome couple. I can't wait to read the end of their story coming out in the spring. I know you guys will all enjoy this story about healing after trauma, reconnecting with family, and finding love in an unlikely place. I love the baseball stuff woven throughout the novel :)(less)

This book kept me on edge the whole time. I love Ally Carter. The only disappointing thing was that we didn't find out what Hale's first name is :( But we did learn what his family calls him. I'd like to here the story behind that one.
This time, it's Hale being conned. Kat is torn between telling him about her suspicions or keeping in the and prevent him from being hurt if her suspicions are unfounded. Hale ends up finding out and is extremely mad, but he soon realizes that he is too close to this case. So Kat and the rest of the crew must con the conman.
Perfect Scoundrels was a lot more suspenseful than the first two. I honestly thought they weren't going to be able to pull it off. And Chapter 43 was a killer chapter. I was so stunned!!!
Perfect Scoundrels is an amazing book for people who love mystery and intrigue. Be sure to grab a copy! (less)

I have waited FOREVER for this book to come!!!! The ending of Deity and then reading Aiden's POV in Elixir were almost too much in this book world of cliffhangers. Why did Jennifer choose to torture us so? I'll tell you why. She tortured us because she wanted to give more awesomeness in the form of Apollyon.
I was very skeptical of this series in the first two books. They were almost identical to the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. But Jennifer has done an amazing job of developing this into a unique story centering around Alex, our heroine. Alex is strong, tough and can take care of herself. She's also the second Apollyon, destined to fall under the spell of the First, Seth. And she does. She has lost her personality. His desires are hers. His anger is hers. His love is hers. His ambition is hers.
Aiden knows that the Alex he loves is still in there, that if he just remind her of how much she loves him, she'll return to herself. So everyday, he sits with her, sometimes talking, other times just watching while she threatens to kill him and his brother. But he loves her, so he keeps coming down to talk to her. Until one day she does escape and almost kills him.
Now, now, I'm sure you're wondering why Alex is our heroine and not our villain. If you are, you obviously haven't read the first 3 books and 2 novellas. Go back read them I say. READ THEM!!
Apollyon doesn't have as huge of a cliffhanger as Deity but it will definitely leave you wanting more. But there is good news, Sentinel is set to release a month early on November 2, 2013 rather than in December. :D(less)

Sky lives a normal life. Okay, maybe not normal, but fairly so compared to what she finds out in this book. She's homeschooled but about to start her senior year at the public high school. Her mother doesn't allow any electronics in the house. No TV, no cell phone, no computer. But Sky is used to it. In fact, she never actually gives her mother any trouble.
Everything in Sky's life changes when she meets Holder. He's moody and intense. Yet, he's the only guy she's ever been attracted to. And she should know because she's made out with a lot of guys and all they've made her feel is numb.
But Holder is hiding something from Sky, something that will change her life forever.
I didn't know what to think of Holder at first. His sudden mood changes were weird. But slowly, we develed into his past and learned more about him and I slowly fell in love with him. He takes responsibility for everything that happens. Anything that goes wrong in his life or in those closest to him is his fault. But with Sky's help he learns to let go of his guilt.
Sky's life has changed. Things from her past are coming back to haunt her. Things she doesn;t even remember. But with Holder's help, she knows she can get through anything.
I adored Hopeless. The beginning is funny but as the book moved on, it more serious. The climax was heartwrenching and fast paced. But I also adored the ending. it was perfect!!
I can't wait to read Holder's POV in Losing Hope!!!(less)
At first, I kind of hated Charlie and though I was going to end up hating this book. But slowly, I began to like Charlie's abruptness and independence. I liked how she could take care of herself and didn't need anybody else, but that she was willing to let her best friend and family help her. Sometimes. Knox is also very independent and watching the two learn how to be independent but still rely on someone else was fascinating.
One of the things that endeared me to Charlie was that she didn't automatically believe her professor when she told her that Knox was a drug dealer. Charlie refused to accept that the sweet caring guy who took care of her when no one else would, would do that. She fought to prove Knox innocent rather than guilty. And along the way, she fell in love.
Knox can be really intense, but once you learn more about his past, you understand. He's this amazing guy that has more to him than the rumors let on. He has his faults though, too. He has a temper and has a tendency to be overprotective.
I want to see more of Charlie and Knox. I can't wait for the sequel Damaged Goods!!!(less)

I adored Ceaseless. It is an outstanding conclusion to the Existence trilogy. Pagan couldn't remember Dank, yet she was drawn to him anyway. Yet there wasn't an instalove fell to their relationship. I loved reading Dank's inner struggle to acept that Pagan can't remember him. Gee is hilarious, spunky, and you can tell she really cares about "Peggy Ann."
The paranormal stuff was excellently written, as in the previous books. I'm looking forward to more books in this genre by Abbi Glines. All of Glines' books are amazing. I'm sad to see the seris come to an end, but it looked like there might be a companion series about Gee. :)
Ceaseless is a must-read, especially if you love reading about Death falling in love.(less)

Oh. My. Gosh. This was the best novella yet. I loved it from the start. I mean, how could you not with a first line like that? It was a lot darker than the other three novellas. We saw more of Celaena's demons and past. Sam was amazing like always. Arobynn is a possessive creep, even more so in this book. The novel was sort of predictable after reading the first three novellas and the description of Throne of Glass, but there were several twists I wasn't expecting. I am super psyched to get my hands on Throne of Glass tomorrow!!(less)

I honestly don't know why I put off reading this for so long. My sister read it and raved at me about how good it was, but I still pushed off reading it. I only started reading because it was on sale on Nook and I had also won a signed edition of its sequel, Everbound. And now I'm wondering what the heck I was thinking waiting so long. I loved Everneath! Ashton's retelling of the Persephone myth is truly unique.
Nikki is strong and not the least bit self-obsessed; just how I like my heroines! She has survived the Feed, which means she can become queen of the Everneath, but she chooses to return to her hometown on the surface, despite the fact that she can't remember anything except a boy's face. That was one thing I was convinced of reading the book, Nikki's memory loss. I didn't feel like she actually forgot everything; it seemed like she remembered an awful lot.
Cole is an Everliving, an immortal who needs to feed off the emotions of others to survive. I didn't really like him. He was so obsessed with Nikki and was always trying to manipulate her. But Jack, Nikki's boyfriend form before the Feed, I loved him. He sweet and patient and obviously hurting from Nikki's sudden departure six months ago and her subsequent return and personality change. He was so realistic.
I do wish Nikki's younger brother Tommy and her former best friend Jules had bigger roles in the story. They seem like very interesting characters.
If you love mythology, romance, and suspense, Everneath is definitely the book for you!(less)

Why do I always put off reading sequels? I've had Crown of Midnight on my TBR pile since August when it was released. I had pre-ordered it. An yet, I just now read it. Sigh. I should have read it sooner. It's absolutely amazing. A stunning sequel to a stupendous book. And I can't wait to see what's in store in Heir of Fire.
Now that Celaena has become the King's champion, she has to do his bidding. Or does she? Can she find a way to evade orders without getting caught? Celaena is as sassy and witty and badass as ever in this novel. Crown of Midnight starts to delve more into her past and expands on passing remarks that have been made in the past novel and novellas. That is one of the awesome things about this story. We get to see the characters evolve more and everything is slowly falling into place. It's awesome!
Not only do we get to see Celaena's past, Sarah delves a little bit into Chaol's past, too. I'm definately rooting for him. I like Dorian, but I like Chaol more. He understands Celaena better. Nehemia makes a commment in the book about how Chaol and Celaena will never understand the burden of ruling and if they did, they wouldn't want to bear it. I believe that's true. Celaena wants to be responsible for only herself. She doesn't want to be in debt to people or in a position to care for somebody. I do hope that Dorian finds someone really sweet.
The ending!! AGH!!!3 months. 3 months. I can wait till then. Maybe......
The Throne of Glass series is perfect for people who love fairy tales, assassins, and a magical world that jumps off the pages. (less)
